Christian Serratos is “Walking Dead”; Spin-off Plans

AMC has cast the latest add to the hit series The Walking Dead: Christian Serratos, known for her Twilight role, Angela Weber. Serratos is to recur as Rosita Espinosa in the adaptation of the Robert Kirkman comic book series which is entering Season 4 in October; Serratos has an option to be a regular in Season 5.

The casting reveal happens as AMC announces planning for a companion series to The Walking Dead. Kirkman joins others as executive producer and AMC Studios will produce the series anticipated to air in 2015.

Charlie Collier, AMC president and general manager says, “Building on the success of the most popular show on television for adults 18-49 is literally a no-brainer.” Meaning zombies would agree?

Kirkman states, “After 10 years of writing the comic book series and being so close to the debut of our fourth, and in my opinion, best season of the TV series, I couldn’t be more thrilled about getting the chance to create a new corner of The Walking Dead universe.” Kirkman says that the new venture will not be outlined by the comic book, calling it a, “blank page.”
