Van Houten, who plays the priestess Melisandre — you know, the one who was pregnant in season two in 2012 and that rather freakish childbirth scene — also tweeted the happy news on Saturday.
“Ok. I’m ready for your shadowbaby jokes,” Carice tweeted Saturday.
Carice, who originates from The Netherlands, and Pearce, have never confirmed a relationship, but rumors began earlier this year when they were spotted looking like more than friends while out and about together in Los Angeles.
The future parents filmed the movie Brimstone together last year, which also stars Game of Thrones stars Emilia Jones and Kit Harington, along with Dakota Fanning.

Pearce currently stars in Australian TV series Jack Irish. He is also slated to portray Scott Fitzgerald in the upcoming film, Genius, set for release in July.
The impending birth of Van Housten and Pearce comes more than a year after he and wife Kate Mestitz divorced after 18 years of marriage. He confirmed the breakup last October when he tweeted, “Sorry 2 be boring but we couldn’t be closer. We’ll love each other 4 ever xx.”
The actress returns to HBO in her role on Game of Thrones season six, which premieres on April 24.
