TMZ Live has been talking about the shooting of Cali Swag District Rapper Montae Talbert, better known as M-Bone for the last few hours.
Although it is ultimately unclear whether M-bone was targeted or simply the victim of a random act, TMZ Live just broke that it may have been a targeted attack.
And get this…possibly because of a beef on Twitter?
M-Bone was a member of hip-hop group Cali Swag District, best known for their breakout sensation “Teach Me How to Dougie.” The song, which has its own dance, exploded over the internet and made its way into mainstream pop culture – becoming a dance staple at clubs and sporting events everywhere.
Members of the group have discussed his death on Twitter:
Thank yall for the hit ups… i lost my lil bro yesterday no words can express how i feel… i love you bro
Just a few minutes ago, TMZ reported that M-Bone may have been targeted after a Twitter war over a girl. Apparently, sources tell TMZ that M-Bone got involved with a girl, and there was a particular guy who didn’t like this, and he began to threaten him on Twitter.
The car M-Bone was shot in was registered to the girl in question.,
The last tweet from M-Bone is a retweet that mentions a girl:
“@NewNew_Monroe: @MbOoONe smh plz tell yo gf nvr do dat again!”yea right
And right before that a tweet that contains a twitpic that has now been removed:
If this turns out to be a targeted hit due to a Twitter war, then it may be the first of its kind. Not exactly a shining endorsement of the social media age.
