Brett Favre To Coach High School Football Team

Yep, you read that correctly. The man legend has now signed on for the position of offensive coordinator at Hattiesburg Oak Grove High School in Mississippi.

Though nothing is official just yet, head coach Neville Barr has said that Favre is enthusiastic about the prospect.

“Right now nothing is official,” Barr said. “Brett is on vacation in Colorado, and we will talk on Monday. We will talk on Monday to see how involved he wants to be. We lost our offensive coordinator a few weeks ago. We have talked about it, and we will do more talking on Monday. It will be good for the kids. He is still very enthusiastic on the field.”

While many are questioning why he would make such an unorthodox move–citing a play for headlines–some think he simply sees it as a way to stay in the game after retirement. His obvious love for the sport kept him coming back several times after claiming to be out for good, but after so many years on the field, his body just isn’t reliable anymore. And it’s hard to picture him turning to the analyst desk at ESPN, seeing as how he’s not known for his speaking abilities.

The job is rumored to begin this week; no word yet on how the kids feel about having such a famous football icon grace their field.
