Country music star Billy Ray and his wife, Tish Cyrus, are calling it quits after 19 years of marriage.
TMZ has obtained divorce papers filed with the Los Angeles County Superior Court. The documents reveal that Tish is filing for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences. The extent of the couple’s assets are not listed in the court document, though Tish is requesting spousal support. Tish is also requesting custody of the couple’s youngest daughter, 13-year old Noah Lindsey Cyrus.
Tish told TMZ that the divorce is a “personal matter” and requested privacy for her family.
Billy Ray and Tish were married in December 1993. The marriage is the second for both Billy Ray and Tish. The couple have three children together, 20-year-old Miley Ray, 19-year-old Braison Chance, and Noah, who voiced the character of Ponyo in the English version of the Studio Ghibli film of the same name. Tish also has two children from her previous marriage, and Billy Ray has one son from a previous relationship.
Miley, the couple’s oldest daughter, has gone on to find fame her own as an actress and pop music star. Miley, who has over 12 million Twitter followers, has not yet commented on her parents’ divorce. Her younger sister Noah, on the other hand, has tweeted about the situation, asking for prayers:
Please pray for me and my family. Xxo.
