Avatar 2 Will NOT Be Ready For Christmas 2017 Release As Cameron Works “At His Own Pace”

cyber

Avatar 2, up to earlier this week, was set to release in December of 2017 and was to be stiff competition for Star Wars VIII at the box office.

However, it seems that the umpteenth release date that has been set for Avatar 2 has also been scrapped.

No word on a new release date for Avatar 2, but maybe it’s better that way.

Avatar 2 was supposed to be released in 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017.

The suspected delay has to do with the tricky effects that James Cameron had in mind for Avatar 2. It is said that the sequel will be based on the moon of Pandora and will have an underwater element, which is notoriously complicated and expensive.

There is also the fact that James Cameron is a creative genius who clearly doesn’t feel the need to rush his art.

He can hold that attitude because, despite the delays for Avatar 2, he holds the two top global box office records of all time with Titanic at $2.2 billion and the original Avatar at $2.8 billion.

According to 20th Century Fox chairman-CEO Jim Gianopulos, “Jim Cameron has his own pace.”

He said of Avatar 2‘s production offices in New Zealand, “It’s a room…which is covered floor to ceiling with images, characters, worlds, settings. It’s the most amazing, breathtaking thing you’ve ever seen. His challenge is to put all of that in a movie.”

Well, if anyone can make that into Avatar 2, it’s James Cameron.

What do you think about yet another delay of Avatar 2?
