  • Melissa Rivers Says Mother Joan Rivers’ Condition ‘Remains Serious’

Melissa Rivers, who rushed to Joan Rivers‘ bedside upon hearing of her mother’s medical emergency, released a statement thanking fans for the outpouring of love and prayers for the legendary comedienne.

In a statement to E! News, Melissa said her mother, who suffered cardiac arrest following a “routine” throat procedure in New York City, is still in serious condition.

“My mother would be so touched by the tributes and prayers that we have received from around the world,” said Melissa in the statement. “Her condition remains serious but she is receiving the best treatment and care possible. We ask that you continue to keep her in your thoughts as we pray for her recovery.”

The E! Fashion Police host suffered complications from a minor throat procedure yesterday morning in New York City.

Reports say the 81-year-old comedienne stopped breathing while having the procedure on Thursday morning at a clinic on New York’s Upper East Side and was rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital where she is being treated.

The ground-breaking comedienne was placed in a medically induced coma, which is usually a procedure undertaken to allow the brain time to heal following a trauma.

Melissa and her son, Cooper, flew to Rivers‘ bedside yesterday as soon as the news reached them.

On Thursday, Melissa released a statement to Us Weekly via Mount Sinai Hospital rep Sid Dinsay.

“I want to thank everyone for the overwhelming love and support for my mother,” the statement read. “She is resting comfortably and is with our family. We ask that you continue to keep her in your thoughts and prayers.”

A rep for the hospital released the following statement:

“This morning, Joan Rivers was taken to The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, where she is being attended to. Her family wants to thank everybody for their outpouring of love and support. We will provide an update on her condition as it becomes available.”

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Rivers family at this time.

  • George Clooney Was Beat to the Altar by Friend Brad Pitt, But He Couldn’t Be Happier

Despite predictions from Angelina Jolie that George Clooney and his fiancé, Amal Alamuddin, would beat them to the aisle, the stunning actress and her new husband, Brad Pitt, were actually the first to say “I do.”

And Clooney couldn’t be happier for his friend and reported best man and his new wife.

The Oscar-winning actor told E! News of the ridiculously good-looking couple’s weekend wedding, “How great is that?! I’m really happy for Brad and Angie and their whole family.”

In a May 2014 interview with Entertainment Weekly, Jolie was asked which couple would marry first, to which the mother of six responded, “Probably George!”

With few details coming from the wedding that transpired in France on Aug. 23, it’s unknown if Clooney and Alamuddin attended the intimate nuptials.

As for Clooney and his bride-to-be, they continue to prepare for their wedding, which some reports say will likely take place at Clooney’s Italian villa at Lake Como, Italy within the month. It’s been several months since the couple first obtained their marriage license in London. However, since they plan to marry in Italy as noted on their marriage license, there are a few additional requirements from that country they need to take care of, like getting documents legalized and translated.

A source told E! News earlier this month it should only take a matter of days to complete the clerical requirements.

Soon it will be Clooney‘s turn to say “I do” at his beloved Lake Como holiday home.

“George has always loved Como, he finds it very peaceful and relaxing and now Amal has fallen in love with the area as well,” a source told E! News about Clooney’s reported choice to marry at his Italian getaway, Villa Oleandra, in Laglio. “They want to start their married life there with the beautiful lake as a backdrop. George’s home on the lake is like a very well oiled machine. He has the local mayor fully on his side and the locals too and he can ensure that press and paparazzi are kept away.”

  • Marisa Tomei Dons A New Hat As Movie Producer

Marisa Tomei has donned the hat of producer for the upcoming film Loitering With Intent.

The 49-year-old actress told Page Six she had several reasons for deciding to branch out into this new role in the movie industry.

“I got into producing out of necessity and curiosity. Reading scripts, looking for ideas got me into subjects that don’t always come across for an actress,” said Tomei. “Others are doing the heavy lifting, and I’m a neophyte, but it’s exciting.”

Michael Godere and Ivan Martin wrote and star in Loitering with Intent. The film follows a group out-of-work actors turned screenwriters who lean on each other as they muddle through Hollywood’s cutthroat world. Premiering at the Tribeca Film Festial earlier this year, the gritty film takes a hard look at the film industry.

“The heart of this film is about friendship. Michael and Ivan created great characters and a great atmosphere to work in. We had a ball bringing this world to life,” said Tomei in a statement.

The film also stars Sam Rockwell and Natasha Lyonne.

Tomei is also starring with Hugh Grant in the romantic comedy, The Rewrite, about a rakish, down-on-his-luck screenwriter who demeans himself by taking a job teaching at a college.

Directed by Marc Lawrence, who collaborated with Grant on 2002’s Two Weeks Notice and 2007’s Music and Lyrics, the comedy also stars Allison Janney and J.K. Simmons.

  • Joan Rivers in Medically Induced Coma as She Fights For Her Life

Joan Rivers often takes a lot of heat for her uncompromising remarks about celebrities, but as she battles for her life, family and friends are rallying around the ground-breaking comedienne.

The 81-year-old E! Fashion Police star is currently in critical, but stable condition after being placed in a medically induced coma in an effort to save her life following cardiac arrest in New York City Thursday, according to Entertainment Tonight co-host Nancy O’Dell.

Reports say Rivers stopped breathing on Thursday morning while having a “routine” throat procedure at a clinic on New York’s Upper East Side.

She was rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital, which is about a mile from the clinic where Rivers was having the procedure, and is being treated there.

Daughter Melissa Rivers rushed from Los Angeles to her mother’s side upon hearing about the medical emergency.

On Thursday, Melissa released a statement to Us Weekly via Mount Sinai Hospital rep Sid Dinsay concerning her mother’s condition.

“I want to thank everyone for the overwhelming love and support for my mother,” the statement read. “She is resting comfortably and is with our family. We ask that you continue to keep her in your thoughts and prayers.”

Rivers was taken to Mount Sinai around 9:30 a.m. local time.

“This morning, Joan Rivers was taken to The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, where she is being attended to,” hospital spokesman Sid Dinsay said in a statement Thursday. “Her family wants to thank everybody for their outpouring of love and support.”

Rivers appeared the night before her medical emergency at a book promotion event in New York City, and was scheduled to appear Friday night at a standup comedy show in Red Bank, New Jersey, which has now been postponed.

Celebrities are rallying around the comedienne on social media as she battles on.

  • Suri Cruise’s Dog Goes Missing in LA, Reward Offered

Oh no, this is disturbing news!

Suri Cruse’s new dog Honey, aka Maple, is missing! I don’t care if this child has everything a girl could ever want, no child should have to go through the pain of losing their doggy!

According to TMZ, the eight-year-old and mama Katie Holmes recently adopted the female Chihuahua mix from the San Fernando Valley rescue shelter as an addition for their new $4 million Calabasas home in Los Angeles.

Missing signs are posted all around the neighborhood with an offer of a reward for the return of Honey. The poster shows a picture of the cute pup wearing a pink dress and lying on a brown blanket. The notice says Honey is a year old and weighs 10 pounds, and according to the poster, was last seen near Benedict Canyon and Green Acres.

TMZ reports that Holmes has several reasons for purchase of the new Los Angeles home. The 35-year-old actress, who owns a New York City apartment as well, wanted Suri to grow up in a neighborhood similar to the one she enjoyed as a young girl in Ohio, with kids playing in the neighborhood. A secondary motive for the bi-coastal living arrangement is to further her career, according to Us Weekly.

“She’s planning on being bi-coastal,” an insider told Us Weekly. “She really wants to put herself out there and try some challenging projects and the only way to do that is to be out in L.A. for meetings.”

  • Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts Rushed to Hospital With Double Pneumonia

Jake “The Snake” Roberts was on a flight to Las Vegas Wednesday when he fell ill and collapsed.

Immediately upon landing at the airport, the WWE Hall of Famer was transported to the hospital, reportedly suffering from double pneumonia.

Roberts has since been in and out of consciousness in the intensive care unit as he fights the infection with a weakened immune system.

Fellow wrestler Sinn Bodhi told TMZ that Roberts went to a doctor two weeks ago because of his illness and was told he had the flu. Bodhi, who spent the night with his friend at the hospital Wednesday, said all the doctor told him was he needed rest.

Bodhi said that despite being in pain, the wrestler didn’t follow-up with a second doctor’s appointment, believing he was merely suffering from the flu and the issue would resolve with time.

Doctors say Roberts’ immune system is compromised, and they intend to do some follow up tests as he continues to recuperate and rest.

“Right now, we’re all just staying positive,” said Bodhi.

Recent posts on Twitter from friends and colleagues seem to be encouraging.

The 59-year-old wrestler has battled cancer and addiction and says his faith gets him through the rough patches in life.

“If the devil can’t defeat me, cancer doesn’t stand a chance in hell!,” Roberts told TMZ in February. “Pray for sick children who face this horrible disease ’cause the snake will be just fine!”

  • Sarah Hyland Leans on Friends Following Breakup With Matt Prokop

Sarah Hyland has split from her boyfriend of five years, Matt Prokop.

The Modern Family star’s rep confirmed the breakup Tuesday, but did not give any further details about the split, according to The Los Angeles Times. Other reports say the breakup was amicable and the 23-year-old actress is “doing fine,” thank you very much.

“It didn’t work out,” a source told Us Weekly, “She’s young. They decided they would be better off as friends.”

Hyland and her 24-year-old former boyfriend met at a High School Musical 3: Senior Year audition in 2008. The couple costarred together in the 2011 TV movie Geek Charming.

No word on the custody of their dog, Barkley Bixby.

Hyland appeared Monday at the 66th Primetime Emmy Awards on her own but seemed happy as a clam. She posted a beautiful photo of herself on Instagram with the caption: “This sums up the #emmys2014 for me. Thank you to those who voted for us!!! I can’t believe we won!!!! #emmys #modernfamily”

And why wouldn’t she look happy-happy? After all, Modern Family won several Emmys, including its fifth win for best comedy series, tying Frasier for the most wins in that category.

After the show, the actress and her costars celebrated their big night. She posted a photo with Sofia Vergara at one of the parties.

The actress seems to be well-supported by her Team Sarah. On Tuesday she hit the Town with her good friends, posting an Instagram photo, captioned: “Very happy to have spent the night with my friends who happen to be the greatest team ever! @allanface @gualazz1 @ahellerpr”

Hyland may have been feeling the breakup blues on Thursday, with two cryptic posts:

Looks like she knows what to do to battle those breakup blues — girls night out with Glee‘s Jenna Ushkowitz!

  • Taylor Swift, a Self-Proclaimed Feminist, Owes It All to Lena Dunham

Taylor Swift, who now considers herself a staunch feminist, credits Girls creator Lena Dunham for her sudden understanding of the women’s rights movement.

The 24-year-old Shake It Off singer told the British newspaper, The Guardian, that Lena, 28, has been teaching her about the true definition of feminism and what it means to support women’s rights.

“As a teenager, I didn’t understand that saying you’re a feminist is just saying that you hope women and men will have equal rights and equal opportunities. What it seemed to me, the way it was phrased in culture, society, was that you hate men,” Swift said. “And now, I think a lot of girls have had a feminist awakening because they understand what the word means. For so long it’s been made to seem like something where you’d picket against the opposite sex, whereas it’s not about that at all.

“Becoming friends with Lena —without her preaching to me, but just seeing why she believes what she believes, why she says what she says, why she stands for what she stands for — has made me realize that I’ve been taking a feminist stance without actually saying so,” Swift continued.

Dunham’s pretty darn proud of her feminist protégée and gave a shoutout to Swift in a four-post acknowledgement on Twitter Sunday.

  • Soccer Player Killed, CAF Calls For a ‘Stop to Hooliganism’

Following the death of a Cameroonian soccer player during an Algerian league match on Saturday, the African soccer leagues were sent a strong warning that they “cannot be the breeding ground for hooliganism.”

Striker Albert Ebosse, the Algerian league’s top scorer last season with 17 goals, died after he was allegedly struck by a piece of concrete thrown from one of Cameroon’s own fans at the match against USM Alger in the city of Tizi Ouzou.

“My thoughts go out to the family and friends of this young man who enjoyed his job peacefully and went further to pursue his passion for football abroad,” said Issa Hayatou, the Cameroonian president of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), in a statement Sunday.

“African football cannot be the breeding ground for hooliganism whatsoever. We expect exemplary sanctions to be taken against this grave act of violence. Violence has no place in African football in particular and sports in general. We remain resolute and state in the strongest terms our determination to eradicate all forms of violence and unsportsmanlike conduct in stadiums on the continent,” said Hayatou.

Ebosse, 24, played for Algerian club JS Kabylie and had scored in his team’s 2-1 home defeat to USM Alger. As the players were returning to the locker room, objects were thrown, allegedly from the angry home crowd over the loss.

JS Kabylie said Ebosse died later after he “succumbed to a head injury.”

Algeria’s interior ministry has launched an investigation into the incident.

The world players’ union FIFPro denounced the incident and the poor management of African leagues.

“In recent years, we have constantly had to denounce the flagrant lack of professionalism among African executives,” said Stephane Burchkalter, general secretary of FIFPro’s African division.

“On the one hand, they demand more and more of the players, in terms of investment. In plain terms, players have to be beyond reproach. If they make the slightest mistake, they are criticised and penalized,” he said.

“On the other hand, the executives are allowed to do as they wish, without the least professionalism. They can ‘forget’ to pay wages, or play with the lives of players by organising competitions without providing the most elementary safety precautions,” continued Burchkalter.

“If drastic measures are not taken to preserve the safety of footballers, in Algeria as well as in a great number of other African countries, other incidents are unfortunately to be feared.”

  • Suge Knight the Apparent Target of Shooting at Chris Brown’s Pre-VMA Party

Marion “Suge” Knight, rapper and a founder of Death Row Records, and two others were shot Sunday at a pre-MTV VMA party hosted by singer Chris Brown. Knight is reported to be the intended target of the shooting, according to West Hollywood homicide officials.

The incident occurred at 1:30 a.m. Sunday at the 1OAK on West Hollywood’s Sunset Boulevard. A suspect in the shooting escaped as the crowds ran screaming from the packed night club.

Knight, 49, who reportedly walked from the night club with several bullet wounds before he was helped into a sheriff’s cruiser and finally taken from the scene by paramedics, underwent emergency surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. A trail of blood remains where Knight walked from the club to the sheriff’s cruiser.

A 32-year-old man and 19-year-old woman were also wounded during the shooting and are being treated at a Los Angeles hospital.

“They were transported to local hospitals and they are expected to recover,” said Deputy Crystal Hernandez of the Sheriff’s Headquarters Bureau.

Knight, who has had many run-ins with the law, was the apparent target of the shooting, said Lt. John Corina of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau, after reviewing video footage inside the night club.

“Video shows the suspect with a handgun firing at Knight and striking the two other victims who were in his vicinity,” Corina said. ”After the shooting people who were in the club started running for the exits along with the suspect.”

Sunday’s shooting may be associated with gang rivalry and Knight’s connections with Compton’s Bloods gang, say sources in law enforcement. Other sources said several known members of the Bloods gang were at the party at the time of the shooting.

Several partygoers posted on Twitter and Instagram video clips of the event, in which shots can be heard and revelers seen ducking before heading for the doors.

Following the shooting, Brown was quickly surrounded by his security people.

“This was just a regular night of fun on the Sunset Strip, and it was disrupted by criminals,” said West Hollywood Mayor John D’Amico. “Hopefully the Sheriff’s Department will find out who the person or persons were and prosecute them to the full extent of the law.”

Knight’s family called on fans to pray for the music mogul.

“The family of Suge Knight asks that you keep Suge in your prayers and to stray away from the negativity portrayed by the media,” Knight’s family said in a statement to Revolt. “Suge is currently resting and has lost a lot of blood; he’s human. He’s done a lot of things for the community and the culture as a whole so we ask that you respect that.”

  • Julianna Margulies ‘Thrilled’ For George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin’s Upcoming Wedding

Julianna Margulies is super happy for her former ER co-star George Clooney and his fiancé, Amal Alamuddin, on their upcoming nuptials.

The 48-year-old Good Wife star shared her excitement for the couple Sunday at a Variety and Women in Film’s Emmys party.

“I’m thrilled!” Margulies told E! News at Gracias Madre in West Hollywood where the party took place. “She’s a great girl.”

Like all of Clooney’s friends, Margulies refused to elaborate on any details she might be privy to on the upcoming Italian wedding.

The 53-year-old actor and Alamuddin‘s most likely scenario for their wedding is an intimate affair at Clooney’s Lake Como getaway home, Villa Oleandra, in Laglio.

“George has always loved Como, he finds it very peaceful and relaxing and now Amal has fallen in love with the area as well,” a source told E! News last week. “They want to start their married life there with the beautiful lake as a backdrop.”

If E!‘s source is to be believed, it’s unlikely Margulies, who will attend tonight’s Emmys with her ninth nomination, will be an invitee at the wedding.

“This is not going to be a huge Hollywood wedding with Julia Roberts and Sandra Bullock flying in to Italy for a week,” said the source. “George and Amal don’t want a media circus with paparazzi helicopters flying overhead and motorbikes chasing after them as they all arrive at the airport in Milan from Los Angeles. They want the wedding to be intimate with quiet but happy and fun dinners and lunches after they’ve said short but meaningful, hand-written vows in front of their loved ones.”

  • Casey Kasem To Be Buried in Norway. Why?

Casey Kasem‘s final resting place will apparently be in Oslo, Norway. One may wonder why in the world the American Top 40 host will be buried in a locale far from his country of birth and where his family currently lives.

It seems Kasem’s widow has decided to take his remains with her when she moves to Norway in the near future. According to a spokeswoman for the funeral agency in Oslo, Kasem’s wife, Jean Kasem, cites her Norwegian heritage as one of the reasons for wanting to bury her late husband in Norway.

Kasem died June 15 in Washington at the age of 82. His death came after a lengthy and nasty battle among his wife and his three children from a previous marriage over the care of the beloved radio host, who was suffering from the end stages of Parkinson’s Disease.

The spokeswoman for the funeral service agency in Oslo said Jean Kasem also told the agency she plans to move to Norway later this year and prefers to have her late husband buried nearby so she will be able to visit his grave.

According to Danny Deraney, a Los Angeles spokesman for the Kasem family , who are fighting against Jean Kasem’s plans to bury Kasem in Norway, the body is currently in Oslo but has yet to be buried.

Deraney said Tuesday that the family members have signed a letter saying Jean Kasem “doesn’t have an ounce of Norwegian blood” and confirmed what other friends have said — that Kasem wanted to be buried in Forest Lawn cemetery in Los Angeles.

  • Zooey Deschanel Gets Her PDA On With New Beau Jacob Pechenik

Looks like New Girl star Zooey Deschanel has a new guy.

The sitcom star was photographed locking lips with rumored boyfriend Jacob Pechenik on Saturday while going for a hike in Los Angeles. Perhaps the photograph changes the status of their relationship from rumored to a done deal.

The 34-year-old actress recently broke up with her former boyfriend of two years, Jamie Linden, and she is obviously not sitting at home pining away for her old flame.

News of the former couple’s breakup came earlier this month after several weeks of canoodling with the producer of her next film, Rock the Kasbah, at Café Aroma in Studio City, California.

They were “definitely acting like a couple,” an eyewitness told E! News. “She was smiling and laughing at the things he was saying” and “when they got up to leave, he put his arm around her and they walked out together.”

The pair looked like they were completely into each other during Saturday’s hike and a post-hike brunch at Sweetsalt Food Shop in Toluca Lake, where the two walked back to the car holding hands before they culminated their morning date with a passionate kiss.

Deschanel divorced Death Cab for Cutie vocalist Ben Gibbard in 2012 and began dating her screenwriter boyfriend, Linden, not long after.

Wonder if Pechenik will accompany the former Emmy nominee on the red carpet at tonight’s show?

Well, at least we know where the songstress will be seated tonight. She was warned by Modern Family‘s Jesse Tyler on Twitter to refrain from kicking the back of his seat.

  • Julianne Hough Returns to Her Roots on ‘DWTS,’ This Time as a Permanent Judge

Julianne Hough is returning to the long-running ABC reality competition series, Dancing With the Stars, where she got her start in Hollywood in 2005. This time, however, she will return as a judge.

Hough will join returning judges Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli for the season premiere on Sept. 15.

This isn’t the first time the two-time DWTS champion has judged. She returned in April to be a guest judge, but this time the position will be permanent.

The professional dancers for the 19th season have been announced and include Mark Ballas, Witney Carson, Cheryl Burke, Artem Chigvintsev, Valentin Chmerkovskiy, Tony Dovolani, Allison Holker, Keo Motsepe, Peta Murgatroyd, Emma Slater, Karina Smirnoff, and Julianne’s brother, Derek Hough.

Hough has had her hand in a variety of different endeavors since leaving the show in 2009, including films like Christina Aguilera‘s Burlesque, Footloose, Rock of Ages and Safe Haven, with Channing Tatum.

Also during her time away from DWTS, the singer debuted an album, which topped Billboard’s country music chart in 2008.

Her latest endeavor was a North American dance tour with her brother called Move Live on Tour. The siblings are also developing a series for Starz, Blackpool, which follows the world of international competitive ballroom dancing.

Fans of DWTS will have to wait until Sept. 4 to learn which celebrities will vie off this year for the coveted Mirror Ball Trophy, when it is announced on Good Morning America.

The 26-year-old Jackie-of-all-trades seems pretty pumped for the new gig, posting a snap on Instagram Thursday, along with the caption: “Warming up for Dancing With The Stars with @heineken_us! #USopen preparty”

  • Jim Parsons Dishes on $1 Million Per Episode Contract, Emmy Nod and Alleged Engagement

Jim Parsons debunked some rumors surrounding the Big Bang Theory contract negotiations between CBS and his co-stars.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the 41-year-old actor said rumors that the cast would leave the show if they didn’t get the money they wanted were a little exaggerated, saying he never planned to leave the show.

“I always thought everything would be worked out by the start date [July 30]. When it wasn’t, it certainly wasn’t a good feeling, but there was absolutely no getting around the fact that everything had to be dealt with and finished before we could get back,” he told Entertainment Weekly. “You see the word ‘strike’—’They’re walking out!’—but there was nothing to walk out from. That’s always hard, because part of you wants to explain to people what’s really going on. ‘Don’t worry, we’re not leaving, we want to do the show.’”

Parsons said people knowing all the details about the big bucks he’ll be making as part of the new contract — an unbelievable $1 million per episode— is a foreign concept to him.

“I came from a family in Texas who simply never spoke about money,” he said. “When suddenly everybody is guessing, or some even getting close, to the ballpark of what you’re earning—well, that’s interesting, that everyone knows what you make. It is what it is, and the job is so wonderful that those minor oddities are well worth the ride.”

Parsons also shared about once again being nominated for an Emmy. It’s not his first, but he says each nomination becomes more meaningful as time goes by.

“To be nominated again for Big Bang, is at least as touching to me, if not more so now, than it was the first time. Look, I’m only human and therefore there’s a part of me that’s waiting for people to say, ‘Enough of you!’”

There have been other rumors surrounding Parsons and his alleged engagement to his longtime boyfriend, Todd Spiewak. Parsons took care of that one in short order himself with a post on Instagram, along with the caption: “Me and Todd in 2003. Still very happy today… And NOT engaged! #justFYI #NationalEnquirerMakesS**tUp #duh.”

  • George Clooney, Amal Alamuddin Full Steam Ahead in Preparing for Lake Como Wedding

George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin are full steam ahead in preparing for their much-anticipated wedding.

Reports claim the 53-year-old actor and his fiancé will be married next month at his Lake Como villa in an intimate ceremony.

“George has always loved Como, he finds it very peaceful and relaxing and now Amal has fallen in love with the area as well,” a source told E! News of Clooney’s Italian getaway, Villa Oleandra, in Laglio. “They want to start their married life there with the beautiful lake as a backdrop. George’s home on the lake is like a very well oiled machine. He has the local mayor fully on his side and the locals too and he can ensure that press and paparazzi are kept away.”

“Doing the wedding in another area of Italy would involve too many people that he doesn’t know or trust and George wants to make sure that Amal and both their families enjoy the big day,” the source added. “They want it to be about them celebrating their love and respect for each other with their loved ones watching. And they can do that in Como while keeping everything fully under their control.”

They want the wedding to be intimate with quiet but happy and fun dinners and lunches after they’ve said short but meaningful, hand-written vows in front of their loved ones. They want their guests to enjoy it as much as they do and they know that if the guest list reads like the Oscars invite list with lots of big Hollywood names there it will be intimidating for their families. They can do a party for movie industry friends in Los Angeles at a later date.”

Sounds about right, considering Clooney‘s desire to keep his private life private.

Clooney allegedly told The Studio Exec the wedding will be a cheap affair out of respect for those less fortunate.

“We are very concerned about the message we as celebrities and ambassadors to the world send out, especially in a time of financial crisis and austerity,” said the Gravity star, the magazine reports. “So the plan is a simple civic ceremony, followed by a lunch at Denny’s, the nearest one to save on cab fare and then back to a friend’s place for drinks and everyone brings a bottle…”

  • Nicki Minaj Dethrones Miley Cyrus With an ‘A$$mazing’ ‘Anaconda’ Vevo Video

Nicki Minaj Dethrones Miley Cyrus With an ‘A$$mazing’ ‘Anaconda’ Vevo Video

Nicki Minaj has dethroned the reigning queen of the Vevo viewer 24-hour record with her booty-filled Anaconda music video.

Vevo announced the new record Friday after the video topped Miley CyrusWrecking Ball music video, which set the previous Vevo 24-hour record of 19.3 million views in September 2013. Seems like lewd videos are a must-see because Minaj had 19.6 million views in the 24 hours following its midnight Aug. 19 Vevo premiere, making it the best-ever for the music video site.

Like Wrecking Ball before it, chatter about Anaconda has blown up social media sites. Since its debut, the song has been among the top trending topics. Within 24 hours of its release, “#AnacondaVideoOnVevo” had an estimated 854 million impressions from 145,267 Twitter mentions by 95,412 users.

The rapper is merely reclaiming a throne she has held twice before. She previously held the record with her collaboration with Justin Bieber for Beauty and a Beat with 10.6 million views in October 2012, and again with Stupid Hoe, which received 4.8 million viewers in January 2012.

Minaj has had more than 100 million views with six videos that have been “Certified” by Vevo.

The bootylicious rapper grabbed a screen shot of Vevo’s Twitter post and added, “WE BROKE THE RECORD BABY!!!!! Anaconda Video 19.6 million views in 24 hrs!!!! :)”

The racy video certainly has people talking, and Minaj told ABC News the video displaying a slew of women baring their ass-ets was exactly how she envisioned the video before it was ever made.

“I wanted to reinstate something,” Minaj said. “Because of the shift in pop culture, even hip-hop men are really glorifying the less curvy body.

“I wanted to say, ‘Hey ladies, you’re beautiful,’” Minaj said. “Hopefully, this changes things and maybe it won’t change things, but I love it.”

  • Lily Allen’s Alleged Behavior Has Friends Worried About A Return to the Party Life

Lily Allen has a history of some pretty serious partying in the day, and now friends are worried that she has returned to her wild past, according to the British magazine Grazia.

The British singer became an overnight sensation in 2006 with her debut single, Smile, and knew how to get her party on.

But things changed after she married husband Sam Cooper, had their two daughters, Marnie and Ethel, and turned her back on the limelight and the music scene to settle into a more domestic existence.

Earlier this year, Allen released her third studio album, Sheezus, and with the return to the music scene, seems to have slipped right back into her old ways – according to Grazia.

“It’s like, as soon as she had her new album out, she jumped into a Tardis and went back to Lily Allen 2005. She seemed to be keen to prove she could be a success again and could get the whole pop star mommy thing totally right,” a source told the magazine.

“But there are some who think she has succumbed to all the pressures that forced her to retreat from the spotlight last time. She’s rumored to have lost three stone on a self-proclaimed diet of crisps, she is prolific on Twitter and reacts to any negative comments. It feels as if she’s allowing herself to get sucked right back into that world,” said the source.

Allen has been touring with Miley Cyrus in America and that can’t be good for her if she wants to avoid temptation.

Reports say the singer is upset over mixed reviews of the new album, which may make her want to blow off some steam. Still, the insider remembers how Allen struggled to remove herself from the limelight.

“The crazy thing is it was such a battle for her to have kids and get out of the celebrity world. She was so happy when she married Sam, and she kept saying that all she ever wanted was a normal life in the country with and their kids,” the insider added.

  • Michelle Rodriguez, Zac Efrons’ Summer Fling Comes to an End

Oh dear, summer must really be over. Kids are back in school, birds are flocking before heading south for the winter, Labor Day is just around the corner, and Zac Efron and Michelle Rodriguez‘ summer fling is over.

    ~sigh~

According to Us Weekly, the That Awkward Moment actor and Rodriquez are no longer dating, or getting it on, or whatever it was they were doing in Italy and Spain over summer.

Sources told the magazine the duo ended their fling after having a knock-down-blowout fight in Ibiza, Spain over the Fast and Furious‘s BFF and former girlfriend Cara Delevingne.

“Cara was always being mentioned,” another source told Us Weekly, referring to the Vogue cover girl. “Cara would spend time on the same boat, and Cara and Michelle have all the same friends. It was just a lot. It was always, ‘Cara, Cara, Cara.’”

That’s too bad because the eye-candy factor of their hook-up was pretty spectacular.

Michelle is going to do her own thing. Zac knew this about her when he got with her,” one source said, adding that he is still sorta pining for her.

“He’s very into her though, and perhaps more than she’s into him,” said the source.

The unlikely couple were endlessly photographed frolicking on a boat off the coast of Italy in early July, getting hot and heavy on the dance floor at an Ibiza nightclub, galloping around on horseback (Efron shirtless, thank you very much), and dining out with other holiday-goers just a few weeks ago.

Efron, who is currently filming We Are Your Friends after his extended holiday, took the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge to benefit amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or Lou Gehrig’s Disease, on Tuesday with Ashley Tisdale.

He then nominated Robert Pattinson and, yeah, his video is pretty hilarious.

  • Britney Spears Posts Dead-On Impression of Woody Woodpecker

Britney Spears has revealed a hidden talent to the world in an Instagram post.

Bet you didn’t know she could do a spot-on impression of Woody Woodpecker.

The Circus singer’s impression of the famous cartoon bird, known for his bright red pompadour and unique laugh, is so dead-on it is uncanny.

Spears shared the hilarious video of her imitation of Woody Woodpecker on Friday. In the short clip, captioned, “Sometimes I do impressions…,” the pop princess seems to be having a really fun time with her kids in the car as she breaks into that highly recognizable laugh made famous by Looney Tunes legend Mel Blanc.

It’s really adorable to hear her little guy giggling in the backseat of their vehicle, as well.

She shared another fun Instagram post tagged “#SoCold” and “#BreakTheIce,” which shows the 32-year-old singer as she accepts the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. She accepted the challenge after being nominated by her sister, Jamie Lynn Spears.

Spears then nominated Adam Sandler, boyfriend David Lucado and friend Robin Greenhill to support the now-global cause, which supports amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease.

According to the ALS.org website, more than $53 million has reportedly been raised for the ALS Association since July 29, when the charitable stunt went viral online.

Unfortunately, Spears has also recently been accused of lip-syncing during a performance at her Vegas gig.

According to Oh Not They Didn’t!, Spears lip-synched her song, Perfume, over Sia’s recording of the song.

However, it was likely just an accident.

“If you listen closely to the performance video, you can make out some of Spears’ vocals under Sia’s more charactered voice,” Billboard’s Colin Stutz said. “That’s because, most likely, Spears uses Sia’s track as an in-monitor guide when she sings. Only this time it was put into the house mix, making for an embarrassing accident.”

  • John Mellencamp, Meg Ryan Call It Quits After Three Years of Dating

John Mellencamp, Meg Ryan Call It Quits After Three Years of Dating

John Mellencamp and Meg Ryan have called it quits after three years of dating, reported Closer Weekly.

According to one of Mellencamp’s friends, the couple broke up “a couple of weeks ago.”

Since the two began dating sometime in late 2010, they have kept their relationship private, so it’s no surprise it’s been a few weeks since the two split with no word. The couple began their relationship following Mellencamp’s separation from his wife of 18 years, Elaine Irwin Mellencamp.

The Sleeping in Seattle actress and Mellencamp, 62, split their time between the East Coast and in Indiana, Mellencamp’s longtime home.

Opinions differ on why the couple broke-up.

“It was the distance,” a source told People magazine. “She lives in New York and he resides in Indiana. It was the long distance that ultimately was the cause.”

Mellencamp apparently didn’t take to the big city.

“I’m too sensitive to live there,” he told Rolling Stone in December. “I can’t see poor people. I can’t see the suffering. I can’t see the trash on the streets.” When it comes to paparazzi attention, he added, “I don’t like it for [Ryan]. “I’m not leaving Indiana. I’m going to die here.”

However, Mellencamp’s friend believed there were other, more personal reasons.

“I don’t think he loved all the attention he got just from dating an actress,” the friend told Closer Weekly. “I bet he’ll stay away from dating another famous person for a while.”

Ryan, 52, is currently directing Ithaca, an adaption of William Saroyan’s novel The Human Comedy. The last time the actress appeared before the camera was in 2009’s Serious Moonlight.

As for Mellencamp, he has a new album, Plain Spoken, slated for release next month.
