  • Stacy Dash Says Oscar Boycott Is ‘Ludicrous’ And Black History Month Should Be a Thing of the Past

Stacy Dash of Fox News says she was shocked when she learned that there were no actors or actresses of color nominated for an Oscar this year, but says a boycott proposed by celebrities like Jada Pinkett Smith is not the way to go.

On Wednesday, the 49-year-old Clueless actor made her opinion known in an interview with Steve Doocy on Fox & Friends.

“I think it’s ludicrous,” she said. “Because we have to make up our minds. Either we want segregation or integration.”

Dash said she is happy the lack of diversity is a topic of conversation, but believes that things won’t change until the “double standard” currently in place is eliminated.

“If we don’t want segregation, then we need to get rid of channels like BET, and the BET Awards and the Image Awards, where you’re only awarded if you’re black,” she explained. “If it were the other way around, we would be up in arms. It’s a double standard.”

Dash made the point that there is no White History Month, so why should there be a Black History Month?

“What I find astounding is that we’ve had a president who is black in office for the past eight years, who gets most of his funding from the liberal elite in Hollywood,” she added, referring to President Barack Obama. “Yet, there are not very many roles for people of color. How can that be? And why is it just now being addressed?”

Dash agreed that Jada Pinkett Smith might have cause to be upset considering her husband, Will Smith, wasn’t nominated for his role in Concussion.

“He did a great job in the movie, but at the same time, what does that say about how people are selected for these awards?” Doocy asked Dash.

“Right. That’s assuming they’re selected by race, which I think would be a disservice to the people who are looking at the films and making the choices,” she said. “Maybe [the Academy] need[s] to be more, you know, integrated, and there needs to be more diverse people in the process of electing.”

Doocy claimed that, although the Academy demographics are kept secret, they are “predominately white males.”

“I hope they’re looking for the best movies and the best actors,” Dash noted. “The good news is, there’s attention brought to it now. But, like I said, over the past eight years, we’ve had a president who’s black, who gets his funding mainly from Hollywood. ‘The elite liberals.’ So, it’s odd to me that this has now become such an issue.”

  • Lynda Carter Will Not Make An Appearance In New ‘Wonder Woman’ Film

Lynda Carter will not be a part of the much-anticipated Wonder Woman feature film.

Lynda Carter, 64, played the Amazon princess superhero in the late-1970s TV series and is considered by many to be the iconic Wonder Woman. Although fans petitioned to have the Carter return for the reboot, it turns out that she will not appear in the film.

Israeli actress Gal Gadot will play the DC comics character for this updated version of the adventures of Wonder Woman, along with Chris Pine, who plays the superhero’s love interest in the upcoming movie and who stirred things up when he teased that Carter might have a cameo in the film.

Carter, who lives with her husband, Washington lawyer Robert Altman, in Potomac, was not too keen on a cameo appearance in the film, her publicist told the Washington Post.

Although Lynda Carter will not be in the film, she “wishes it success,” according to her publicist, Pete Sanders.

The actress/singer enjoys her low-key life, frequently appearing at charity and social events. Most recently, she appeared at the Kennedy Center Honors. She also enjoys doing voice-overs for video games.

Fans certainly had their hopes up that she might appear in Wonder Woman after she commented that she would love a small part in the film.

“If it really is something that is gratuitous I won’t do it; if it’s just for me to show up in it I wouldn’t do it. But if there is something written that they think would be appropriate then most definitely I’d consider it,” she said. “I would love it.”

  • Heather McDonald: Chelsea Handler Counters Comedian’s Claim That She ‘Lived in Fear’ Working With Handler

Heather McDonald heard a few choice words from Chelsea Handler after she said she “100 percent lived in fear” during her years working on Handler’s late-night E! talk show Chelsea Lately.

During an appearance on the Allegedly podcast Tuesday, McDonald, 45, said that even though Handler is a “good person,” she doesn’t approve of “how she treats relationships in her life.”

“I lived in fear, 100 percent lived in fear,” she said. “I enjoyed my time there, I was happy, but I mean something would happen and my heart would be beating and I would be like, ‘Is this it?’ – you know? And then somehow I just managed to keep surviving.”

Handler fired back during an interview with Howard Stern on his SiriusXM radio show Tuesday, saying she cut McDonald out of her life years ago when she realized McDonald was selling stories about her to a celebrity gossip magazine in exchange for her photograph appearing in print.

“I could have fired her. I did not fire her. She had a job for four more years. I never hung out with her personally again. So I hope she was living in fear,” said Handler. “It’s not an internment camp. If you’re living in that much fear, go get another job.”

Handler said she continued to employ McDonald even after the alleged betrayal came to light. She noted that McDonald was good at her job as a writer on the show. However, from the moment she learned what McDonald was reportedly up to, she stopped having a personal relationship with the comedian.

“I just thought it was a betrayal … I wasn’t paranoid, I just withdrew from that whole social scene – I withdrew from her,” Chelsea Handler said. “I wouldn’t hang out with her, I wouldn’t be alone with her. You know, she’s somebody who would love to hear about Jennifer Aniston’s house on the weekend. I could never, ever share my personal life with her again.”

  • Bobbi Kristina Brown’s Hospice Nurse Impersonator Faces Criminal Charges

The woman in charge of the late Bobbi Kristina Brown’s care is facing criminal charges.

According to the Associated Press, Taiwo Sobamowo, has been charged with practicing nursing without a license and is being held at the Gwinnett County jail in Lawrenceville, Georgia.

Bobbi Kristina Brown, who passed away six months ago after she was found unconscious and facedown in her bathtub on Jan. 31, 2015, was in the care of Sobamowo at Peachtree Christian Hospice in Duluth. When it was discovered that she did not have a nursing licensee, the woman was arrested for impersonating a nurse and was fired from the hospice.

The daughter of Bobby Brown, 46, and the late Whitney Houston was under Sobamowo’s care was placed in a medically induced coma and eventually died on July 26, 2015, at the age of 22. The circumstances surrounding her death were eerily similar to that of her mother, who died at the age of 48 after being found in a bathtub at the Beverly Hilton hotel in February 2012.

Since Bobbi Kristina’s death, more details about what may have happened to her the day she was found have surfaced.

According to Us Weekly, boyfriend Nick Gordon, 20, was accused in October of injecting her with a “toxic mixture” before her hospitalization. The allegations came in a wrongful death lawsuit filed by Bobbi Kristina’s conservator, Bedelia Hargrove, who alleges that Gordon “battered and bruised” Bobbi Kristina and knocked her tooth out.

Gordon, who checked into rehab following an emotional TV intervention with Dr. Phil and his mother, Michelle Gordon, in March 2015, made headlines when he tweeted a Photoshopped Christmas card with his late girlfriend.

  • Keri Russell, ‘The Americans’ Costar Matthew Rhys Expecting, How Will It Affect The Show?

Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys of The Americans recently shared the exciting news that they are expecting a baby in real life. This has fans of the FX series wondering what that might mean for the storyline.

According to Rhys, 41, it won’t mean that Russell’s character will sit around and knit while her husband completes their many KGB spy capers. In Fact, Russell will remain as sharp as ever in her mission to thwart the United States during the Cold War.

In the popular series, Russell, 39, and Rhys portray a pair of Soviet KGB officers in an arranged marriage posing as Americans in suburban Washington, D.C.

During a Television Critics Association’s panel for the hit show in Pasadena, California, on Saturday, the expectant parents and executive producer Joel Fields were asked how the pregnancy would affect the show.

“No, it did not. We actually haven’t made any changes based on the happy news, except that we are happy,” Fields said.

“And she’s now incredibly effective with a blow dart from a seated position at 12 feet,” the always funny Rhys joked.

Rhys continued to joke around when asked about impending fatherhood.

“As soon as I find out if it’s verified or true, I’ll be over the moon,” he joked.

The couple’s co-star, Noah Emmerich, confirmed the pregnancy news by explaining that her baby bump will not be a part of the show’s plot line.

“First of all, Keri‘s really petite. It looks like she swallowed a large pea. But yes, we shoot around it,” Noah explained. “There’s only a few angles where you can see it. It’s fixable — just picking your shots.”

Keri is already mom to daughter Willa Lou, three, and son River, seven, and the new little bundle of joy will be Russell’s first child with Rhys.

Russell declined to comment on the pregnancy news Saturday, but did not hesitate to speak on her character Elizabeth’s role as a mother on the show.

“I think there is a big opening for Elizabeth in a new way, especially with [her daughter] Paige and seeing how it’s affecting her, and I think that’s a very parent thing,” Keri Russell said. “You try your best, and you think you know what’s right, but you are not you have no idea how they are going to react as an individual.”

  • Adam Driver Parodies His ‘Star Wars’ Character Kylo Ren, Channels Aladdin For ‘SNL’

Adam Driver parodied his famous Star Wars character, Kylo Ren, in a skit while hosting Saturday Night Live.

The 32-year-old actor, who plays villainous Kylo Ren in Star Wars: The Force Awakens and is also known for his role as Adam in HBO’s Girls, hosted SNL for the first time and was joined by musical guest and country singer Chris Stapleton.

Driver reprised his role as Kylo Ren in this Undercover Boss parody.

In another skit, Driver and Vanessa Bayer portray a married couple who win Golden Globes, who embarrass their kids watching at home by giving them a shout-out during their acceptance speech and then proceed to party a little too much at the after party.

Finally, Driver shocks fans with a pretty good impression of Aladdin by performing A Whole New World with Cecily Strong … with a twist.

Driver also took a turn as the host of America’s Funniest Cats, integrating sound effects and the kind of commentary reminiscent of any of America’s Funniest shows. Things get a little cooky when two French women (played by Cecily Strong and Kate McKinnon) who join him on the show to demonstrate how they do it back in their home country.

What did you think of Adam Driver‘s first appearance on SNL?

  • Anne Hathaway Sticks Up For Jennifer Lawrence Following Golden Globes Backlash

Anne Hathaway is standing up for fellow actress Jennifer Lawrence following the social media backlash against the Hunger Games actress.

Hathaway, who has had her own dealings with on-line criticism, took to Facebook to defend Lawrence after she was accused of being “rude” to a reporter at the Golden Globes.

“Dear the Internet, It’s become pretty clear that the Jennifer Lawrence ‘scolding’ was taken out of context and that she was dryly joking with a journalist who was indeed using his phone to take photos of her,” Hathaway wrote on Facebook.

“Let’s not continue the sad but common practice of building people — especially women — up just to viciously tear them down when we perceive them to have misstepped,” she continued. “Jennifer is a beautiful, talented, wildly successful, popular, FOUR TIME OSCAR NOMINATED young woman.”

“Please let us not punish her for these things,” the Alice Through the Looking Glass actress, who signed her post “A J-Law Fan,” concluded.

The post came after Jennifer was called out for telling a reporter to refrain from hiding behind his mobile phone.

“You can’t live your whole life behind your phone, bro,” Lawrence told the reporter. “You gotta live in the now.”

After he apologised, the reporter went on to ask about the Academy Awards when Lawrence interrupted him.

“We’re at the Golden Globes,” said Lawrence. “If you put your phone down you’d know that.”

In the meantime, Lawrence released a statement after being nominated for the best actress Oscar for her role in Joy.

“I am beyond grateful and humbled by this nomination,” said the 25-year-old Oscar-winner. “I feel incredibly honored to be recognized among the other amazing women in this category.”

She continued: “Joy is an incredibly inspiring story about an ordinary woman who does extraordinary things. For me, working with David O. Russell has been nothing short of extraordinary, and I share this nomination with him as well as our incredible supporting cast. I could not be more proud to be a part of this film and thankful to the producers and Fox for their unyielding support.”

  • Joey Feek Says Tearful, Heartbreaking Goodbye to Her Best Friend, Is ‘Inconsolable’ Says Husband Rory Feek

Joey Feek has had to say goodbye to her best friend as she prepares to leave this world as her cancer progresses, an event that has reportedly left her “inconsolable.”

Country singer Rory Feek shared an update on his terminally ill wife, who is now in hospice, in a new blog post on Saturday, saying that Joey was “inconsolable” over saying goodbye to her best friend, Julie Zamboldi.

“I put my arms around her and asked what was wrong,” Rory wrote of the encounter. “As her lips quivered and she tried to catch her breath, the tears streamed down her cheeks and Joey said, ‘I don’t think I will ever see her again.’”

Joey and Zamboldi, who shaved her own head in support of her best friend, have been fast friends ever since they met when the couple, who performed as the duo Joey + Rory, at their first Big & Buckle Festival eight years ago.

“Like an angel from heaven, it was as if God sent Julie to us. To her,” Rory continued. “But none of us exactly knew why, until the cancer showed up again this summer.”

Joey, who has a 23-month-old daughter with Rory, was diagnosed with stage IV cervical cancer in 2014. After fighting the disease for a time, Joey decided to stop chemotherapy treatments in October after the cancer returned and spread to her colon.

“Months later and as Joey’s condition has continued to improve, then worsen, again and again … Julie has made three trips to Washington and is back here with us again,” Joey added. “She’s been here all week, helping Joey’s sister Jody take care of my wife and me and everyone else. She cooks, she cleans, changes the baby’s diaper, and does any and everything else that she can find to do that needs to be done while we’re living here out of suitcases … not waiting for someone we love to die. But helping the woman we all love to live.”

Rory has been chronicling Joey’s cancer battle on his blog, This Life I Live.

  • Amal Clooney Downplays Personal Risk In Defending Former Imprisoned Maldives President Mohamed Nasheed

Amal Clooney is downplaying her personal risk in defending the imprisoned former Maldives president Mohamed Nasheed.

Making an appearance on Meet the Press Sunday for a special interview with host Chuck Todd, Amal, the wife of actor George Clooney, said she gives very little thought to any personal risk she may be under by defending the man accused of terrorism and sentenced to 13 years in prison.

In recent weeks, there have been several public attacks against Amal by Maldives politicians after she took on Nasheed, with one claiming that she was “making things up” about the country.

Clooney told Todd the same man is now in jail because, she says, the current president “is now increasingly paranoid and going after members of his own party, having dealt with the opposition in its entirety.”

When Todd asked if she felt that being the wife of George Clooney put her in more danger, Clooney said that she wasn’t not afraid of criticism and sees her new found fame a way to draw more attention to her causes.

“I think that the kind of attack that I got from that vice president is an act of desperation, and it’s easy to dispose of,” she said. ” So it’s not something that’s worrying. I think, on the other hand, in representing this client and trying to just procure his release and the release of other political prisoners, if people are made aware of the situation in the Maldives, I think that’s a good thing.”

Clooney said she is hoping to use her public profile to gather international support to help free Nasheed.

The human rights lawyer is also working on the plight of a female journalist in Azerbaijain who has been imprisoned after, according to Clooney, she “exposed evidence of corruption by the ruling regime.”

  • Teresa Halbach, Whose Death Was Chronicled In Netflix’s ‘Making A Murderer’, Still Missed By Family and Friends

Teresa Halbach, Whose Death Was Chronicled In Netflix’s ‘Making A Murderer’, Still Missed By Family and Friends

It has been eight years since Steven Avery and Brendan Dassey were convicted in the brutal murder of 25-year-old Teresa Halbach. Much talk has surrounded the guilt or innocence of the two men after the release of Netflix’s Making a Murderer, and less attention has been afforded the young woman who lost her life at the age of 25 that fateful 2005 Halloween night.

Today, friends of the young photographer say there isn’t a day that goes by that they don’t think about Halbach, including a friend who studied with Teresa at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay.

“She made me feel like I fit in,” Beth, who asked that her last name not be used, told People magazine. “Honestly, it was her smile. She made you feel like you belonged just by her nature. She had a very adventurous spirit, and she made you want to come along with her.”

In order to return the attention to Teresa to ensure that her life isn’t overlooked by the growing controversy surrounding her convicted killer, Steven Avery, who claims he was framed for the crime, friends and family are speaking out about the woman who lost her life at such a young age.

“She went out of her way to make you feel special,” says Tina Mills, 35, another former college classmate. “People were inspired by her and people wanted to be like her. She just had a way of listening that made you feel comforted and at ease. She made people love her, and obviously she had a lot of love to give away, too.”

She adds: “Caring, loving, any good quality you could come up with, that was Teresa.”

Pastor Andy Behrendt, who worked with Halbach at the university’s student newspaper in 2001-2002 when Teresa was a staff photographer, said it is difficult to again remember losing his friend.

“She just radiated happiness and life,” he said. “Even after she died so tragically – and here we are again, faced with this awful, awful tragedy 10 years later – I still can’t picture her without a smile on her face. In the end, nothing can take that away.”

“She was always very positive,” says Katie Uttech, for whom Halbach served as a bridesmaid at her wedding in 2004. “I don’t ever remember her being mad about anything. She just had this positivity about herself. She didn’t have a bad bone in her body. She just enjoyed life, she enjoyed new experiences.”

Uttech said she refuses to watch the Netflix documentary out of respect for her friend.

“I try not to think of the story of what happened to her,” says Uttech, who has made a choice not to watch the Netflix series. “This Netflix thing is not something that’s made up,” she says. “This is somebody’s sister and somebody’s daughter and somebody’s friend and somebody’s cousin. This is real.

“It’s really easy for somebody to watch this show and come up with opinions, and everybody’s entitled to their opinions,” she says. “I can’t do anything but say who Teresa was, and she was a really great person I just miss her not being around and not being able to make more memories together.”

  • Emma Watson Accused Of Exploiting Alan Rickman’s Death By Posting ‘Feminist’ Quote By The Late ‘Harry Potter’ Star

Emma Watson has been bashed on the internet for exploiting the death of Harry Potter co-star Alan Rickman and pushing her own ‘feminist agenda’ by posting a quote by the late actor to social media.

In the wake of the shocking news that Rickman had died, the 25-year-old actress took to social media to remember her former co-star with a post that featured Rickman’s image overlaid with a quote that expressed his strongly-held feminist beliefs.

“There is nothing wrong with a man being a feminist, I think it is to our mutual advantage,” said Rickman — who portrayed the misunderstood Severus Snape in the film version of the Harry Potter series — in March 2015.

Twitter trolls didn’t take to kindly to her post and began to pick on the actress who portrayed Hermione Granger.

“Wow, you’re using the death of your friend to push your agenda. That’s actually horrible,” tweeted one disgruntled fan.

One post called Watson’s tribute, “tacky, classless, tactless, disgusting behaviour”.

Of course, the trolls failed to notice that Emma Watson posted this one feminist tweet along with several others that included quotes from Rickman.

Watson, a Goodwill Ambassador for UN Women and advocate for the HeForShe campaign that promotes gender equality, is continually under the gun for her staunch support of feminist advocacy.

Many other fans came out in support of Emma Watson following the backlash.

“He was a feminist, and those were his words, she is just paying tribute, nothing wrong with it,” one wrote.

“Love the @EmWatson tribute to Alan Rickman. She respectfully paid homage to his humanitarian character and feminist ideals they shared,” another commented.

The actress, who was beloved for her role as Abby on ER, received the trophy from Jennifer Lopez and Dwayne Johnson, who presented the award for Supporting Actress in Series, Movie or Limited Series, beating out Tierney beat out last year’s winner Joanne Froggatt of Downton Abbey, Uzo Aduba of Orange Is the New Black, Judith Light of Transparent and Regina King for American Crime.

“I’m such a four-eyes, which I hate, but thank you so much,” Tierney, who plays Helen on the Showtime series, said after taking the stage.

She appeared to be a bit nervous and tongue-tied during her speech. However, Tierney managed to admit that receiving the award was “flattering” because of the amount of people who were eligible for her category.

“There’s so much excellent work and I’m so glad to be a part of it,” she said.

Tierney thanked the writers of the show for giving her “my sweet part this year” and the cast “who I love so very, very much.”

The Affair will return for its third season on Showtime sometime next year.

Hosted by Ricky Gervais, the 73rd annual Golden Globes were presented live from Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California, on NBC.

  • Lily James of Downton Abbey Dishes on Fighting Scenes For ‘Pride & Prejudice & Zombies’

Forget the fact that Pride & Prejudice & Zombies is the best movie title ever.

Lily James of Downton Abbey says the fighting scenes in the upcoming zombie flick are worth the price of a ticket to the theater, adding that she had a blast training and starring in the scenes.

Speaking with Zap2It, the 26-year-old actress opened up about training for all the fight scenes in the upcoming movie.

“That’s been really fun. I’ve loved that,” she explained. “When I do Downton I become a sort of pudgy little sludgy thing because you don’t really need to exercise, so it’s been good getting back into getting fit. Working with the stunt guys on this has been awesome. I feel like I can sort of get into some fights now and be a little victorious!”

After starring in a slew of period pieces — Downton, Pride, Cinderella and the upcoming War & Peace — James says she is ready for something different for her next role.

“I’d love to do different things now,” she said. “I was always drawn to that as a style. Some of the actresses I loved growing up, like Kate Winslet, I remember them and things like Titanic and all that kind of period stuff so that was definitely something I aspired to and I wanted to do myself but now having done it so much I’d quite like to do something where there’s no [boundaries].”

If you have a better movie title than Lily James‘ film, Pride & Prejudice & Zombies, we’d love to hear your pick!

  • Kirsten Dunst Says Bread and Cheese The Secret to Her ‘Fargo’ Weight Gain

Kristen Dunst dished on her secret to gaining weight, which was a requirement for her role in FX’s Fargo.

The 33-year-old actress shared her secret for packing on the pounds while on the red carpet at the Golden Globes.

“Literally I just gained weight,” she told E! News, as reported by People magazine.

Dunst explained that her diet was pretty simple, and it sounds like a dream to those who only dream about indulging in her secret weapons.

“Bread and cheese,” she said was the source of her weight gain. “Different assortments.”

Although she did pack on the pounds for the show, Dunst shared another little secret about her weight gain, which she always attributes to the show.

“I say that, but literally I just gained weight in Calgary,” she joked.

Dunst, who was nominated for best actress in a limited series for her role as a small-town beautician on Fargo, looked stunning on the red carpet in her plunging long, black velvet gown, despite being a little heavier than we tend to see her.

Dunst told Ryan Seacrest that one of the each episode comes as a surprise to the actress.

“Every two weeks you get a new script or two so it’s all a surprise,” Dunst said of life on the Fargo set.

Dunst said she was calm before the awards show, until she hit the red carpet.

“I was very relaxed at home and I’m pretty chill right now…I don’t know why,” she said with a laugh. “You just feel like pretty meat being shoved down this carpet.”

  • Giuliana Rancic Responds to Comments and Concerns About Her Weight

Giuliana Rancic has responded to comments and concerns about her weight.

In an interview with CBS News, Giuliana, who battled breast cancer, and her husband Bill addressed a number of topics, including her very thin frame.

In response to a question about her weight and the reason she has given for the weight loss — as a result of cancer medication — Giuliana noted that it’s upsetting to her that people are more concerned with her weight than they are about the reason she gave for her weight loss.

“You know, I kept hearing it and seeing it,” she told the news outlet. “I would do an awards show and look at my social media and so many comments were about my weight rather than the actual show itself. When I realized it was starting to cross into my work and started to be distracting from my work I realized, you know what, I have nothing to hide. I’m a very open and honest person. I’ve talked about infertility and breast cancer and that was something I had to address. I hoped that people would hear the reason and move on and when I was on the red carpet they wouldn’t just be thinking about my weight the whole time and focus on my interviews with celebrities instead.”

Rancic conceded that weight issues are a natural bi-product of working in Hollywood, but added that she managed to touch other women with similar issues.

“I think it just comes with the territory of working in Hollywood and that’s okay,” she said. “I’m happy I did it. A lot of women reached out to me and said, “Thank you for doing that.”

Rancic says she has been free of cancer for five years now and feels great.

“I’ve never felt better,” she gushed. “Bill always jokes that everyone’s getting 24-hour flus, but — knock on wood — I’m always very healthy”

She added that she not only feels great, she is very content with her life since leaving E! News last year.

“I’ve never felt more fulfilled in my entire life than I do in this very moment,” said Giuliana Rancic. “I’m at home more, I can be with my family, yet I’m accomplishing more professionally and it’s been a real blessing.”

  • Hayden Panettiere Will Return to ‘Nashville’ After Medical Leave For Postpartum Depression

Hayden Panettiere will return to the ABC soap Nashville following her medical leave for treatment of postpartum depression, TVLine reports.

According to the website, the 26-year-old actress returned to the set on Friday to resume playing her character, Juliette Barnes, who was last seen in the Nov. 18 episode.

Panettiere took leave in October after announcing that she would be taking a break from the series to seek treatment for postpartum depression, which manifested after the birth of her daughter, Kaya, in December 2014 with fiancé Wladimir Klitschko.

Although ABC has made no comment on Panettiere’s return to the series, TVLine reported that Juliette will next appear in episode 14, which will air in April.

Ironically, in the show’s storyline, Panettiere’s character was suffering from postpartum depression this season after giving birth to her first child with Avery (Jonathan Jackson).

Jackson told E! News after Panettiere’s announcement that his co-star was doing well with her treatment.

“I think she seems to be doing really well, and obviously all of us are very excited for her to come back when it’s time,” said Jackson. “But I’m also really grateful that she’s taking the time that she needs, and I think that that’s really a wonderful example for people.”

    Co-star Lennon Stella agreed.

“She’s doing good!” said Stella. “You know, she’s doing what she’s doing, and we’re like super supportive.”

Nashville returns to ABC on March 16.

  • Chloe Goins Vows to Fight Bill Cosby in Civil Court After Prosecutors Refuse to Charge Him

Chloe Goins vows to fight on in civil court after prosecutors refuse to charge the beleaguered actor for an assault that allegedly occurred at the Playboy Mansion in 2008.

The 78-year-old comedian was told Thursday that no charges would be brought against him in Los Angeles for the alleged assault on Chloe Goins. He was also told he would not be charged for another alleged attack of a 17-year-old in 1965.

Telling the Daily Mail Online that she was ‘devastated,’ Goins said she was determined to fight him in court.

“I’ve not given up yet,” she told the website.

Chloe Goins claims she she met Bill Cosby at the Playboy Mansion when she was 18 and a Las Vegas dancer. She told prosecutors he gave her a drink and she awoke to find him biting her toes with his pants around his ankles

The District Attorney pointed out a number of problems with Goins’ claim, starting with the fact that Goins was not certain of the night the assault had happened at the Mansion in the summer of 2008.

Prosecutors said no charges would be brought against Cosby because he was in New York on the date that she had originally said she believed the attack to have taken place at the Playboy Mansion. There was also no footage of either Goins or Cosby outside the party from video studied by the investigators in the case and guest lists show that Cosby only visited the mansion on one occasion in February of that year.

But Chloe Gains stands by her claim.

“Bill Cosby sexually assaulted me at the Playboy mansion in 2008. I’m grateful to the LAPD for conducting an investigation, but I am devastated by this decision,” she said. “But while I’m disappointed that there won’t be any criminal charges, I believe we still have a chance in the civil court. I’ve not given up yet.”

In a statement Goins’ lawyer Spencer Kuvin said the news “is a disappointment” and said that her legal team is standing by her claims.

“However, we recognize that the bar for criminal prosecution, which is proving guilt beyond a reasonable doubt, is extremely high. We nonetheless commend the efforts of the LAPD and the District Attorney’s office with respect to their criminal investigation,” he said.

“This criminal investigation did reveal some very important evidence. Most importantly, it uncovered documentary proof that Mr. Cosby was at the Playboy Mansion in early 2008, a time when Ms. Goins was under eighteen years old,” he said. “The decision by the District Attorney’s office to decline criminal prosecution of Bill Cosby for the sexual assault of Chloe Goins in no way affects Ms. Goins’ civil lawsuit against Cosby, which is proceeding.”
