Amanda Bynes Gets Her Drivers License Back

Amanda Bynes is finally able to legally get behind the wheel.

Bynes had her drivers license suspended in 2012 following two hit-and-runs and a DUI arrest. According to DMV documents, Bynes has had her license reinstated and was seen driving around Los Angeles with her father in a black BMW.

This is a major improvement from Bynes’ behavior last year. After showcasing erratic behavior, and setting a fire in a stranger’s driveway, Bynes estate was placed under a conservatorship by her mother, and she was placed under a psychiatric hold.

Rumors started circulating that Bynes’ behavior was from her having schizophrenia or bipolar disorder. However, her attorney Tamar Arminak explained that she has never been diagnosed with either disorder.

“There has been much speculation about Amanda’s medical condition,” Arminak said. “She has remained silent because she believed it was best to keep her mental health diagnosis private. However, she asked me to dispel certain rumors…. For the record, Amanda does not have schizophrenia, nor has she ever been diagnosed with it.”

While Arminak informs us that Bynes is no longer on medication, she is still receiving outpatient therapy. “She continues to undergo outpatient therapy several times a week,” a source close to Bynes told PEOPLE. “She’s still working through the causes of her past bizarre behavior.”

Bynes seems to be doing better and recently celebrated her birthday in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico with her parents. She also enrolled in school at the Institute of Design and Merchandising, where she will be majoring in merchandise product development.
