Courteney Cox, Jennifer Aniston, and “Friends” Friends Meet to Film Reunion

Courteney Cox, Jennifer Aniston, and the rest of the Friends gang–except Matthew Perry–met up Sunday night to film the sort-of reunion set to honor director James Burrows. Perry is working in London, but will reportedly film something for the tribute.

Friends fans will likely be a bit disappointed to learn this isn’t the kind of reunion they’ve long been hoping for.

“I wish I could say it was going to be a reunion,” David Schwimmer told E! News while promoting his upcoming FX series, American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson. “[It’s a] 5/6 reunion.”

Stars of The Big Bang Theory–Kaley Cuoco, Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki, and Simon Helberg–table-hopped over to Courtney Cox and the Friends gang’s table for a picture.

“? FRIENDS #MEETS BBT ?” Cuoco captioned her Instagram photo.

Meanwhile, those disappointed that the Friends reunion isn’t really all it was first cracked up to be when rumors first circulated about it, will be glad to know that Courteney Cox is working on a new show for Fox, in which she will play the leading role. As yet untitled, the show , “centers on Hailey (played by Courteney Cox), a woman who inherits her late billionaire husband’s charity and finds that changing the world is far less glamorous than she had imagined.”

No word has leaked on when the show will premiere.

There is a date and time set for the so-called Friends reunion, however. Fans can at least catch a glimpse of Courteney Cox, Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, and David Schwimmer in Must See TV: A Tribute to James Burrows (see–the Friends title isn’t even in the show’s name) on February 21 at 9 p.m. ET on NBC.
