Phillip Seymour Hoffman has completed a 10-day detox program after getting pulled back in to drug use.
Hoffman, who won an Oscar in 2006 for his portrayal of Truman Capote, says he did drugs years ago but managed to get clean and stay that way for over two decades. The actor says the gateway back to heroin was prescription pills, but after a stay at rehab he feels strong enough to go back to work. According to TMZ, he is now on set in Europe.
While many wish him the best, some think it’s odd that he spiraled back into drug use and only spent a week in rehab:
I still think its weird that Phillip Seymour Hoffman was using prescription drugs, then decided to snort heroin for a week #cecebrities

@garymasonglobe Looks like U were right about Phillip Seymour Hoffman playing Rob Ford -apparently he has more direct experience of drugs.

Dang, would not have pegged Phillip Seymour Hoffman as a heroin user. Glad he’s gotten some help, though! tmz.com/2013/05/30/phi…

Damn, I hope Phillip Seymour Hoffman can compose himself and get better, would hate to see that guy get lost in drugs.

Phillip Seymour Hoffman is even better at drugs than everybody else. Takes up heroin, goes to rehab after a week, comes out clean right away
