Murder At The Kentucky Derby: Police Investigating Homicide

In shocking news, officials are now investigating the death of a man whose body was found not far from the barn which held yesterday’s Kentucky Derby winner, I’ll Have Another. The corpse was in a barn and no signs of a struggle were left.

Although no cause of death has been reported, police say they are ruling the death a homicide and have not yet been able to identify the man. An autopsy has been scheduled for Monday.

This isn’t the first time tragedy has struck Churchill Downs, which is the iconic track that hosts the Derby every year; last year jockey Michael Baze was found dead in his car at the stables after an accidental overdose.

WebProNews will update this post as more information is available.

*Update*

The victim has been identified as 48-year old Aden Fabian Perez, who worked at the stables as a groomer. Police say they expect more information about the way he died after an autopsy, which will be performed today. While they have no details or witnesses, police say the wounds Perez suffered and the location of his body suggest it was definitely not a natural death.
