Siri For Android: Utter Is Another, More Impressive Clone

We’ve covered some other Siri clones for Android. A new one called Utter does something different, as it taps into the various apps on your phone.

“The difference being that it tends to use the default applications already installed on you device to give you a more personal experience with more functionality – unlimited functionality even, depending on the applications you already have installed or you choose to install, ” its creator – brandall of XDA developers – explains.

Here’s a 22-minute video demo:

“It’s unlike the voice recognition software / applications Siri on iPhone 4S (IOS 5) or Speaktoit on Android or Ask Ziggy on Windows Phone 7 or the inbuilt voice actions for Android which all use their own functionality to provide search results,” the video description says. “Speech Engine is IVONA available in BETA from the Android Market,” it says.

A commenter suggests Google go ahead and buy this.

Soon, we may actually be seeing Google’s own official answer to Siri, with “Project Majel“.

Utter is not yet available in Android Market.
