6 Shows Predicted To Die This Fall

Television audiences are fickle, as they have proven time and time again. The success of a show hinges on many things: chemistry between characters, plot lines, good writing, believable acting. When one or more of those things is off, you can count on viewers to find something else to watch pretty quickly.

According to The Wrap, there are six shows on the air right now that will probably be getting axed soon, for various reasons: “Hostages”, “Trophy Wife”, “Sean Saves The World”, “Betrayal”, “Neighbors”, and “The Carrie Diaries”.

Most of the shows are suffering from low ratings–“The Neighbors” and “Sean” are the two lowest-rated comedies on television right now–but there are also other factors at play. “Hostages” and “Trophy Wife” are up against some tough competition, with “Hostages” following NBC’s hit “The Blacklist”. “Trophy Wife” is being overshadowed by “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” However, it’s predicted that “Hostages” will follow through with the season, as it was ordered as a “limited run” mini-series. Executive producer Jerry Bruckheimer had other plans before the show aired, however.

“We hope to get not only two seasons, but a lot more,” he said. “So this is not a miniseries for us.”

Meanwhile, shows like “The Carrie Diaries” may still have an audience, but they are watching episodes online rather than tuning in during broadcasts, which accounts for the ratings dip for the second season: .2.
