Wendy Williams broke down crying on her talk show this week about some family troubles she’s been experiencing. Recently having problems with her 13-year-old son, she cried about her fear that her son doesn’t like her.

As anyone with children knows, parenting isn’t always a picnic, and sometimes things get incredibly hard to handle. Mothers love their children and when they don’t reciprocate that love, it hurts–and it hurts bad.

Wendy broke down during a segment she was doing on Madonna and her son Rocco. You’ve no doubt heard the recent news where Madonna used the N-word when captioning an Instagram photo of her son recently. It was while talking about the interesting dynamics between mothers and sons that Wendy started to cry.

“What I discovered this weekend is my son doesn’t like me anymore,” Williams said, sobbing. “You know how it is, I know what it is. … I discovered this a while ago, but the ball just got smacked home this weekend.”

She also talked about how moms often get a bad rap.

“He’s all into his father. You know how 13-year-olds are. … But it is breaking my heart. He says things to me like, ‘Why are you so pissed?’ Like I’m pissed all the time! Like I’m the one with the problem,” Williams said. “Thank God he has his buddy and father. They talk sneakers, they go for haircuts, they speed off in the cars and I’m just left there!”

After the show, a Twitter follower sent Wendy Williams the following message of encouragement.

Wendy Williams knows all too well how it feels to have a 13-year-old son and discipline him in her effort to mold him into a decent young man, only to have him throw it back in her face and then leave with his dad–likely talking about how difficult his mother is.

Is there a hard and fast solution to her problem? No–as long as she’s dealing with nothing more than typical teen boy stuff–and that’s what she believes it is. In fact, she admits she often behaved the same way he is behaving now. She needs to keep her eyes and ears open–as she’s no doubt doing–to make sure something more isn’t in play, however. If that’s the case, it’s time to involve his father–and fast.

Madonna made a big mistake by using the N-word like it was no big deal with Rocco–at least that’s the consensus of many parents. Wendy Williams will likely dry her tears and go right back to being hated by her son–until he finally wakes up (and some boys take longer than others to do so) and realizes she’s been on his side all along.
