“American Idol” alum Taylor Hicks will be making AI history this summer when he headlines his own Vegas show at Bally’s Casino. The show will run for eight weeks.

Hicks won over audiences and judges alike in 2006 with his charming mixture of classic rock, blues, and R&B influences and went on to win that season; his self-titled debut album was released in December of that year. The Alabama native kicked off a tour in March that will last through April before he heads to Vegas on June 26th.

Hardcore fans of the singer were dubbed the “Soul Patrol” during his season of “American Idol”; no doubt they’ll be making appearances in Vegas this summer.
