  • Ben Stiller and “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” Alum Brandi Glanville? What?

Ben Stiller had a fling with Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Brandi Glanville. When you pick your jaw up from your chest, your first question will no doubt be, “What?”

It’s true. Although Ben Stiller doesn’t consider his time spent with Brandi a relationship, he admits the two had a great time together.

Now lest you think Ben Stiller strayed, that’s certainly not the case. His fling with Brandi Glanville took place before he married wife Christine Taylor back in 2000.

It was this past week on Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live that the Zoolander 2 star opened up about his past with the former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star.

“It was short-lived and it was fun, I wouldn’t characterize it as a relationship,” he said. “It was a couple of dates and fun. I’m not sure my wife is even aware of that.”

    She is now, Ben.

It’s plain to see Ben Stiller wound up living a more solid–and definitely more peaceful–life. He and Christine Taylor have been married for years. Brandi, on the other hand, was married to Eddie Cibrian, who had an affair with and wound up married to country singer LeAnn Rimes.

Still, it’s a bit hard to fathom Ben Stiller and Brandi Glanville together. Can you imagine if they had wed, seeing Ben Stiller on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills?

How might that have played itself out?

  • Kristen Wiig as Peyton Manning? Priceless

Kristen Wiig as Peyton Manning? Priceless

Kristen Wiig appeared on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon on Thursday night and did a stellar Peyton Manning impersonation. The SNL alum, known for roles in hilarious films including Bridesmaids and Zoolander 2, nailed the impression.

Wearing a Denver Broncos uniform, Kristen Wiig–as Peyton Manning–was a little off on her details of the big game, but that didn’t mar her performance in the least.

“It was 14-6…in my mind,” she said of the Super Bowl 50 score.

Kristen Wiig also fumbled her way over her critique of the Super Bowl MPV, who was Peyton Manning’s teammate Von Miller.

“He didn’t do anything wrong the whole game,” she said. “I was like, ‘I’m so proud of you, just go out tonight. Have a good time.”

In addition to not acing her football-themed interview, Kristen Wiig also proved she wasn’t much for playing the sport, as she threw a golden football, much to the chagrin of anyone in the audience–or at home, too–who could at least throw a football.

Are you a Kristen Wiig fan? Did you catch her alongside Jimmy Fallon on Thursday night, in her hilarious role as Peyton Manning?

  • Ben Stiller Thanks Anna Wintour for Helping Make “Zoolander 2” Happen

Ben Stiller thanked Vogue editor Anna Wintour for helping make Zoolander 2 happen, at the film’s premiere on Tuesday.

“The first time around, we didn’t have the fashion world really aware of what we were doing,” Ben Stiller told the crowd–many of whom were from the fashion world–at the event.

“And Anna Wintour did put Derek Zoolander in Vogue, which was an amazing thing for Derek,” he joked. “And then, this time around, [she] was a huge part of making the movie happen, an incredible partner and supporter of the process of making the movie.”

It was Anna Wintour who coordinated Tuesday’s red carpet event ahead of the premiere. She enlisted models including Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid, as well as celebrities including Jennifer Aniston and hubby Justin Theroux (Theroux co-wrote the Zoolander sequel). Justin Bieber was on the invitation list, but had to rehearse for the upcoming Grammy Awards instead.

Ben Stiller went on to praise Paramount CEO Brad Grey.

“It’s very easy to make a sequel to, like,Transformers,” Stiller said. “But it really takes real cojones to make a sequel to a movie that grossed so little money.”

The first Zoolander film was a box office flop.

Before heading in to the film’s premiere, Ben Stiller addressed his two kids.

“I just want you to know no matter what you see up there, I am still your father,” he said.

Are you surprised to learn that a comedy like Zoolander 2 has the support of someone like Anna Wintour?

Will you be checking out Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson, Penelope Cruz, and more when Zoolander 2 hits theaters nationwide this weekend?

  • Penelope Cruz Embarrassed When Savannah Guthrie Mentioned Her “Ugly Feet”

Penelope Cruz appeared genuinely embarrassed–and maybe even a slight bit angry–when Today Show host Savannah Guthrie talked about her feet.

Making the news program and talk show rounds promoting her upcoming film Zoolander 2, in which she stars alongside Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson, Penelope Cruz clearly wasn’t expecting Guthrie to bring up the subject.

“I don’t even know how I feel about this, I think you said it, that you, despite what you look like…you’ve said you have ugly feet,” Guthrie said.

“No, no, no, no, I never said that,” Penelope Cruz quickly replied.

All Cruz would admit to, with regard to Savannah Guthrie’s remark, was that as a former ballerina, she had lost more than her share of toenails throughout the years.

Do you think Savannah Guthrie should have asked Penelope Cruz about her alleged ugly feet? Isn’t that perhaps one of those topics one should inform a news show guest about prior to bringing it up live–on the air?

As Page Six reports, Penelope Cruz’s feet can’t be all that ugly. After all, she has been photographed wearing a variety of open-toed shoes while promoting Zoolander 2.

  • Irina Shayk Stole The Runway At ‘Zoolander 2’ Fashion Show In NYC

Irina Shayk wowed Zoolander 2 premiere attendees when she and her fellow models showed up for a surprise fashion show.

Shayk stepped on the purple carpet in a red, white and blue printed Marc Jacobs gown during the Zoolander 2 world premiere in New York City on Tuesday evening. Her flowing semi-sheer gown also featured a low feathered neckline that highlighted her enviable curves. Shayk complemented her gown with a pair of silver high heeled shoes.

She finished her look with a dramatic smoky eye shadow and a swipe of rose pink lipstick to enhance her full lips.
Irina Shayk posted a clip of her walking the Zoolander- inspired catwalk on her Instagram account which she captioned, “When they’re watching u serve a #Zoolander2 walk! Sneak peak of this evening!”

“So much fun, thanks for having me @voguemagazine rocking beautiful @marcjacobs,” the caption read.

The 30-year-old model was joined by Gigi Hadid who looked very stunning in a patriotic themed off-the shoulder gown which she paired with silver open-toed heels. Fellow model Stella Maxwell, who also appeared at the impromptu fashion show, shared her Zoolander moment on Instagram. “Hittin the RUNWAY 4 #zoolander @zoolander,” Maxwell wrote.

With my fellow Lioness Stella Maxwell, at last nights #Zoolander2 Vogue Fashion show.. So much fun! More pics below..http://www.vogue.com/13397193/irina-shayk-model-behind-scenes-zoolander-2-premiere/ Posted by Irina Shayk on Wednesday, February 10, 2016
Irina Shayk is currently dating actor Bradley Cooper, 41, and it looks like their relationship is going strong despite persisting breakup rumors. The two were spotted walking hand in hand in New York on Sunday. A source reportedly told E! News that Shayk is really close to Cooper’s mom, but there are no signs of engagement yet. Stars of Zoolander 2 – Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson, Will Ferrel and Penelope Cruz- also hit the purple carpet in clothes reflecting their on-screen characters. In the second installment of the 2001 hit Zoolander, Stiller and Wilson return to modeling when an opposing company threatens to take them out from the business.

  • Christine Taylor: Stiller Children Unimpressed By Bieber Cameo In “Zoolander 2”

Christine Taylor, Ben Stiller and their children, Ella, 14, and Quinlin, 10, made a family affair of the Zoolander 2 London premiere on Tuesday.

The whole family looked quite fashionable, obviously, but it was the surprising comments from Christine Taylor that really raised eyebrows.

To begin with, Christine Taylor said her daughter, Ella, isn’t in love with Justin Bieber like all of the other 14-year-olds.

Therefore, she wasn’t impressed with his cameo in Zoolander 2.

She said, “Our daughter, who is almost 14 – of all of the 14-year-olds on the planet, she is the one child who is like: ‘Dad, I get it, everyone loves Justin Bieber, but I’m not one of them.'”

Hmmm. However, there is one star from Zoolander 2 who Christine Taylor admits has caught her daughter’s eye.

She said, “Benedict? Let’s not get started. Ella, our daughter, is obsessed with Sherlock, obsessed with Benedict, so Ben’s street cred rose in huge amounts the minute that she found out that Benedict was a part of the movie.”

    That’s my kind of girl.

The premiere began with a Zoolander fashion show with the stars of the movie, including Stiller, Owen Wilson, Will Ferrell and Penelope Cruz.

Music was provided by none other than Skrillex.

What do you think of Christine Taylor’s comments about their daughter? Pretty funny, right?

  • Penelope Cruz Mistakenly Requests Sex Act Instead of Hair Service at Salon

Penelope Cruz didn’t have much of a command of the English language when she first came to the U.S. to become an actress. While she was a guest on the Graham Norton Show recently, (the episode is set to air tonight) she shared a hilarious story of how that less than perfect English found her requesting a sex act in a salon–when what she really wanted was a simple hair service.

“When I first arrived I spoke so little and basically just knew my lines. I used to freak out because I didn’t know what the actors and director were saying–it was very frustrating,” Penelope Cruz explained.

“I even embarrassed myself at the hairdresser when I asked for a blow job,” she added.

What Penelope Cruz wanted, of course, was a blow dry.

Despite her prosperous career, the actress might never live that story down.

Penelope Cruz was joined on the Graham Norton Show by her Zoolander 2 costars Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson. Stiller wrote her role in the film especially for her.

“She is a beautiful person and an amazing actor and I just wanted to hang out with her,” he joked.

“I was a huge fan of the first film. I had seen it six or seven times and was one of those people that memorize the dialogue so when Ben called me I was so happy to hear there was going to be a second one and, on top of that, I was going to be in it!” Penelope Cruz shared.

In Zoolander 2, Cruz plays an Interpol agent named Valentina, who seeks help from both Derek (played by Ben Stiller) and Hansel (played by Owen Wilson).

It’s highly unlikely that anywhere in her lines does Penelope Cruz ask for a blow job.

  • Penelope Cruz Flashes Major Cleavage In Latest Zoolander 2 Trailer

As if the first Zoolander 2 trailer weren’t juicy enough, Penelope Cruz comes and adds even more heat to the highly-anticipated sequel.

After almost 15 years since the release of the successful first Zoolander movie, fans are eagerly awaiting the launch Zoolander 2, which stars the original cast Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson, and Will Ferrell.

Following the example of other much-hyped-about sequels such as Anchorman 2 and Dumb and Dumber To, Zoolander 2 is proof yet again that nostalgia sells.

Penelope Cruz Joins Ben Stiller And Owen Wilson In ‘Zoolander 2’

According to British entertainment and news website Digital Spy, the first full Zoolander 2 trailer released by Paramount Pictures on YouTube has amassed more than 50 million views – and counting. The two-and-a-half-minute long clip reveals new characters including Benedict Cumberbatch as a gender-ambiguous supermodel and Penelope Cruz as a sexy Interpol agent.

In an effort to maintain the public’s excitement, another trailer has been launched on the same video-sharing platform, but this time, Penelope Cruz’s ample bosom gets more screen time.

The 41-year-old Spanish beauty plays Valentina, a member of a fictitious Interpol department called “Global Fashion Division.” In the film, she enlists the help of Derek Zoolander to solve a case involving the deaths of “the world’s most beautiful people.”

In the new trailer, Valentina reveals to Zoolander and Hansel that she used to be swimsuit model, to which the two men immediately sympathize and say “I’m so sorry” and “My heart goes out to you.” She also confesses the real reason why she was not able to “transition” to runway modeling: her breasts, whose size is not typical of the current “supermodel physique.”

Penelope Cruz Plays Sexy Interpol Agent In ‘Zoolander 2’ Trailer

The last scene further showcases Penelope Cruz and her fantastic body when she strips down to her lingerie and instructs Zoolander to grab her breasts “like his life depended on it” in order for them to swim to Rome in safety.

Penelope Cruz is joined by more new faces in Zoolander 2, including Kristen Wiig abd Fred Armisen, as well cameos by Justin Bieber, Demi Lovato, and Lenny Kravitz among many others.

  • Penelope Cruz Shows Some Cleavage in New ‘Zoolander 2’ Trailer

Penelope Cruz, working with INTERPOL’s “Global Fashion Division”, is prominently featured in the new trailer for Zoolander 2.

Cruz’s character explains that she used to be a swimsuit model, but could never transition to the world of high fashion modeling because of her … assets. You’ll see the joke, check out the new international trailer below:

Zoolander 2 is slated for a February 12th release. When the first trailer dropped last month, it was met with some backlash from people who said it featured transphobic jokes.

Here’s how an online petition put it:

In the “Zoolander 2” trailer, an androgynous character played by Benedict Cumberbatch is asked by Zoolander and Hansel if he is a ‘male or female model’, and if they ‘have a hot dog or a bun’. Additionally, Cumberbatch’s character is clearly portrayed as an over-the-top, cartoonish mockery of androgyne/trans/non-binary individuals. This is the modern equivalent of using blackface to represent a minority.

If the producers and screenwriters of Zoolander wanted to provide social commentary on the presence of trans/androgyne individuals in the fashion industry, they could have approached models like Andreja Pejic to be in the film. By hiring a cis actor to play a non-binary individual in a clearly negative way, they film endorses harmful and dangerous perceptions of the queer community at large.

Online buzz for the sequel to the incredibly popular original film has been pretty solid, both good and bad. Can Penelope Cruz serve as a big enough draw?

Cruz can also be seen doing work for Apple, appearing in a new ad for Siri:

  • Ben Stiller Learns Why Joan Rivers Didn’t Like Him, Howard Stern Spills

Ben Stiller never knew why Joan Rivers didn’t like him–until recently. Howard Stern was the one to explain things to the Zoolander 2 star, and Stiller is saddened that the opportunity to make things right with the comedienne is lost.

According to a report from People magazine, Ben Stiller appeared on Howard Stern’s radio show on Wednesday and both Stern and his co-host Robin Quivers laid it out for him.

“She says you ignored her on the red carpet,” Quivers told Stiller.

“Oh, is that what it is?” Ben Stiller replied, with a tone that suggested he truly hadn’t known the reason before. “This is helping me, because I didn’t understand why she didn’t like me.”

Howard Stern told Ben Stiller that Joan Rivers repeatedly dissed him when she appeared on Stern’s radio show. Stiller explained that he was even more baffled about her disdain for him because she was such great friends with his parents, Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara.

Stern told Stiller that Joan Rivers’ friendship with his parents served only to ‘add fuel to the fire.’

“She’d say, ‘Howard, I’m friends with Ben’s mother. And Ben should say hello to me’ … she was really ticked that you wouldn’t say hello to her,” Howard Stern said.

“See, this makes it all clear to me now,” Ben Stiller replied. “I don’t remember that happening, but I’m sure it did.”

Ben Stiller no doubt feels terrible learning that Joan Rivers’ dislike of him was something she perceived as one thing, but he was completely unaware of. How sad that he didn’t find out sooner so he could have done something to mend fences with the Fashion Police star.

“She was great, and I feel bad that we never got to work that out,” he said. “It’s sad.”

Perhaps the situation between Ben Stiller and Joan Rivers can teach everyone a lesson. Making amends before it’s too late to do so leaves everyone with a brighter perspective and a far more peaceful feeling in their hearts and their minds.

  • Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson Announce Zoolander 2 on Runway in Paris

Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson surprised the crowds at Fashion Week in Paris with a strut on the catwalk. But this was no throwback to days gone by for the pair. They were there to announce in the most fitting way possible that Zoolander 2 was actually happening.

While the film release date is still almost a year away, Ben Stiller will reprise his role as Derek Zoolander and Owen Wilson is back on board as Hansel. Sources say that Will Farrell is back as amoral designer Mugatu. Christine Taylor is also back, presumably in her Matilda Jeffries role from the original film.

By the time the film hits in February of next year, it will have been 15 years since Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson originated the Zoolander and Hansel roles. The movie has become a cult favorite, occupying a place within the modeling world that Waiting for Guffman holds for theatre folk — an embarrassing reminder of how some of their members actually behave.

There is no word yet about anyone else from the original film who may make an appearance. In addition to Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson, it would be nice if Jerry Stiller, Milla Jovovich, and David Bowie could make the shoot.

Some film sequels get caught up in the trap of trying to do the original, but bigger, louder, more expensive. Perhaps the passing of so much time will blunt that tendency for Zoolander 2. But, then again, time didn’t stop The Blues Brothers 2000 from being an overdone piece of forgettable outlandishness.

On the other hand, more people quote The Wrath of Khan than Star trek: The Motion Picture. Not all sequels are doomed to oneupmanship.

But this is a film about the ridiculous. Let’s see what Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson bring to the table. The folks at Fashion Week sure loved seeing them.

  • Penelope Cruz Makes Gwyneth Paltrow Jealous, Signs On To ‘This Man, This Woman’

Penelope Cruz can add making Gwyneth Paltrow jealous to her list of life’s accomplishments. So what did she do to make the Goop founder feel that way?

It apparently took place during the filming of their hit film Mortdecai, in which both Gwyneth Paltrow and Penelope Cruz star, along with Johnny Depp.

Paltrow was dishing about her experience on set–kissing Johnny Depp–to Rachael Ray. That’s when she admitted her jealousy.

“I ruined probably 15 takes–which was funny at first,” Paltrow explained about their kissing scene, in which they both keep gagging because of Depp’s character’s automatic gag reflex. “Until you look around and the crew’s like, ‘Oh my God.’ I honestly was digging my nails into my skin to not laugh by the end of the thing because I was like, ‘I’m going to get fired!'”

It seems she felt like she was missing out on something Cruz was getting, however.

“How come Penelope Cruz gets to do [Blow], where they’re all sexy and making out and I’m making out with this, like, wig on his face?” Paltrow said she lamented during filming.

So besides making Gwyneth Paltrow jealous, what else has Penelope Cruz been up to? In addition to joining the cast of Zoolander 2, she, along with Diane Kruger, are reportedly in final talks to star in Isabel Coixet’s next film, This Man, This Woman. Coixet’s most recent film, Nobody Wants The Night, opens at the 2015 Berlin International Film Festival.

Deadline reports that This Man, This Woman “is a beloved script by the writer of Kubrick’s Eyes Wide Shut. An estranged man, Matt Heller, and a woman, Martha Parks (Cruz) encounter each other by chance on a plane, and relive memories of their turbulent romantic relationship. Kruger will play Kirsty Sachs, a talk show host who has an affair with Heller and changes the course of his whirlwind relationship with Parks. They will land their male lead quickly and the whole thing’s on a fast track.”

Producer Mike Lobell had the following to say about the upcoming film.

“It feels like a minor miracle to finally bring this passion of mine to the screen and to put together this dream cast including the superbly talented Penelope Cruz and Diane Kruger who are the perfect actresses to bring these multi-layered characters to life. Combined with an extraordinary director to help realize Freddie’s amazing script, there must be a movie God after all.”

Did you catch Penelope Cruz (making Gwyneth Paltrow jealous) in Mortdecai? Will you check her out when This Man, This Woman hits the big screen?

  • Penelope Cruz Joins Cast of ‘Zoolander 2’

Penelope Cruz Joins Cast of ‘Zoolander 2’

Penelope Cruz is set to join Ben Stiller, Will Ferrell, and Owen Wilson in the cast of Zoolander 2. Cruz will soon become part of the comedy that follows Derek Zoolander (played by Ben Stiller), the male model who finds himself blissfully unaware of anything but his good looks.

The sequel will follow Zoolander in his quest to reinvent himself in the world of male modeling. Jennifer Aniston’s fiance, Justin Theroux, wrote the script. Ben Stiller will direct as well as star in the film.

Penelope Cruz just wrapped the filming of Ma ma, and she is preparing for a small role in a new Sacha Baron Cohen film called Grimsby.

Of Derek Zoolander’s reinvention, Stiller said the following during a recent interview with MTV.

“In the fashion world, if you go away for a year, it’s changed—it just happens so quickly,” he said. “I think the idea in the beginning of the movie is that it’s 10 years later, and Derek and Hansel are literally forgotten. Nobody remembers who they are, so they have to reinvent themselves.”

BBC News reports that it’s still uncertain as to what role Penelope Cruz will play in Zoolander 2, but it’s rumored she might fill the role of journalist Matilda Jeffries–who was played by Ben Stiller’s wife, Christine Taylor. They also report that Cruz might be a huge boost to draw fans in to theaters to see the sequel.

Are you a Zoolander fan? How do you think Penelope Cruz will mesh with the cast of Zoolander 2?

  • Penelope Cruz To Star In “Zoolander” Sequel

Penelope Cruz To Star In “Zoolander” Sequel

Penelope Cruz has reportedly signed on to play a role in the upcoming Zoolander sequel.

The sequel, a second to the original 2001 movie, will see the return of Ben Stiller as the empty-headed Zoolander, but not in as big of a role behind the scenes. This time around, the movie will be written and directed with help from Justin Theroux.

The original was a Ben Stiller solo project, and was marginally financially successful. It has become somewhat of a cult hit, and with stars like Stiller, Owen Wilson, and Will Ferrell, it was sure to become one. It earned $60 million worldwide at the box office.

Rumor has it that Penelope Cruz will be joined by Ferrell and Wilson in their original roles as as fashion mogul Mugatu and Zoolander’s supermodel rival Hansel, respectively.

However, there is no word yet on exactly what role Penelope Cruz will take on.

This isn’t the only project that the 40-year-old mother of two and wife of Javier Bardem is taking on in her busy life.

Penelope Cruz just finished filming for Julio Medem’s Ma Ma in Spain. She will also appear in Sacha Baron Cohen’s new movie, Grimsby, which will be released next summer.

Rumor has it that she also might be returning to her role as Angelica in Pirates of the Caribbean 5 .

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tSyXhhsmQH4

In the midst of all that filming, Penelope Cruz balances being a wife and a mother to her kids, Luna and Leo.

What do you think of the new Zoolander sequel? Are you excited to see what Penelope Cruz will add to the silly storyline?

  • Penelope Cruz to Bring On Her Sexy ‘Blue Steel’ in ‘Zoolander’ Sequel

Penelope Cruz will be bringing on her own sexy Latina-style Blue Steel to the sequel of the 2001 mega-hit Zoolander.

The sexiest woman alive is said to have signed on to star in Zoolander 2 alongside Ben Stiller, Deadline reports.

Stiller once again will be at the helm as director of the Paramount Pictures project and will reprise his role as the really, really, really good-looking supermodel and Blue Steel originator Derek Zoolander. He is rumored to be joined by Zoolander co-stars Will Ferrell, who will return as the sinister Mugatu and Owen Wilson, Zoolander’s supermodel rival Hansel.

It is unclear who Cruz, who turned 40 this year, will play in the film, but one would guess it’s as another sexy supermodel or perhaps as a love interest for Zoolander or even as another evil character similar to Mugatu — the possibilities are endless.

It is likewise unclear if Stiller’s 87-year old dad, Jerry Stiller, will reprise his role as Zoolander’s agent Maury Balltein.

Stiller has been hinting at the prospect of a sequel since 2006, and fans of the original are chomping at the bit for this sequel to hit theaters.

In early 2011, Stiller confirmed that the new Zoolander script was completed and offered a synopsis of the plot.

“It’s ten years later and most of it is set in Europe… it’s basically Derek and Hansel… though the last movie ended on a happy note a lot of things have happened in the meantime. Their lives have changed and they’re not really relevant anymore. It’s a new world for them. Will Ferrell is written into the script and he’s expressed interest in doing it. I think Mugatu is an integral part of the Zoolander story, so yes, he features in a big way,” said Stiller.

Meanwhile, Cruz recently wrapped up her work in the Julio Medem-directed film, Ma ma, in Spain, and has a small role in the new Sacha Baron Cohen comedy Grimsby.

  • Penelope Cruz Joins Ben Stiller in Zoolander 2

“It’s almost more difficult to work together as everybody has gotten successful. Everybody is doing their own thing, and it’s sometimes hard to get together.”

Despite Ben Stiller’s statement in 2006, it looks like things are starting to come together for Zoolander 2, the sequel to the 2001 comedy starring Stiller, Owen Wilson, Christine Taylor, Jerry Stiller, Milla Jovavich, and Will Ferrell. Yesterday it was announced that Spanish actress Penelope Cruz will join the cast in the second installment.

Stiller, who is also directing the film, will reprise his role as the empty-headed supermodel Derek Zoolander. There have been rumors that Ferrell and Wilson will also return. Ferrell confirmed his role in the upcoming film in September by saying that Mugatu is a big part of it.

“We are actually supposed to do a read-through of a sequel script soon,” Ferrell said.

At this point it isn’t clear who Cruz will be playing although, given her beauty, she could be joining as a fellow supermodel.

The 40-year-old actress just finished wrapping up Ma ma in Spain, directed by Julio Medem. She is also set to play a small role in the new Sacha Baron Cohen comedy, Grimsby.

In early 2011, Stiller confirmed that the new Zoolander script, written by Justin Theroux, was completed and gave audiences the basic plot, saying, “It’s ten years later and most of it is set in Europe… it’s basically Derek and Hansel… though the last movie ended on a happy note a lot of things have happened in the meantime. Their lives have changed and they’re not really relevant anymore. It’s a new world for them. Will Ferrell is written into the script and he’s expressed interest in doing it. I think Mugatu is an integral part of the Zoolander story, so yes, he features in a big way.”

When Zoolander first hit theaters in 2001, it wasn’t very well received but since then has gained a growing cult following. This is similar to Dumb and Dumber and Dumb and Dumber To which just hit theaters last weekend, roping in $36 million.

Does this surge of silly sequels mean we should be waiting for Dodgeball 2? We can only hope.

  • Will Ferrell To Reprise His Role In Zoolander 2

Will Ferrell has announced that he will be reprising his role as fashion mogul Jacobim Mugatu in the much anticipated sequel to the 2001 film, Zoolander.

Ferrell made the announcement on Thursday in an interview that was published on Joblo.com.

Will told the website that the script is done and his character is definitely included.

“We are actually supposed to do a read-through of a sequel script soon, and Mugatu is a part of it,” he said.

The sequel will follow Derek Zoolander (Ben Stiller) and Hansel (Owen Wilson) as they compete against younger male models while opposing companies try to push them out of the business.

Ferrell’s announcement comes just one month after director Justin Theroux revealed that he had been in talks with Ben Stiller about the possibility of a sequel.

“Yeah, we’ve got a script for the sequel, and we’ve just been in talks again,” Theroux told Vulture during a recent interview. “We’re trying to sharpen it and hone it and, actually, I don’t want to jinx anything, but it looks like it actually might be starting to get up and running.”

He said that he had met with Stiller on more than one occasion, and plans on meeting with him again sometime this month. “I met with Ben [Stiller] a couple times when I was in New York doing The Leftovers, and then I’m meeting again with him probably in September,” he said.

  • Will Ferrell Back for ‘Zoolander 2’

Will Ferrell Back for ‘Zoolander 2’

Will Ferrell will reportedly reprise his role as Mugatu for the upcoming Zoolander 2. Zoolander–which hit theaters back in 2001–saw Ben Stiller’s character Derek Zoolander and Owen Wilson’s character Hansel compete over the title of hottest male model. Will Ferrell’s Mugatu is a fashion designer who sets out to brainwash Zoolander in order to keep using child labor to manufacture his clothing line.

During a recent interview with JoBlo.com, Will Ferrell confirmed Mugatu’s return.

“We are actually supposed to do a read-through of a sequel script soon, and Mugatu is a part of it,” he said.

The new film will likely see Derek and Hansel in their attempts to compete against younger models, while an opposing company tries to take them out from the modeling business.

When Zoolander 2 is ready to shoot, Will Ferrell–along with Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson–will find himself under the direction of Jennifer Aniston’s fiance, Justin Theroux.

Ben Stiller told the New York Post that as of this past December, Zoolander 2 had been on hold.

“There’s a script we like, but I don’t want to force it, because people who love that movie really love it, so I want to make sure we do the sequel the right way,” he said. “Mike Myers did it well with the Austin Powers movies–they were all funny, and very ‘of their time.’ And Zoolander is ‘of its time,’ too, so it’s about how we could bring it up to date, to the present day.”

In addition to Will Ferrell, Ben Stiller, and Owen Wilson, funny man Jonah Hill and supermodel Cara Delevingne have been linked to the upcoming film.

Were you a Zoolander fan? Are you excited to learn that Zoolander 2 may soon be underway, and that it features the return of Will Ferrell’s character Mugatu?

Ben Stiller to Direct Zoolander 2?

After actor Justin Theroux told Vulture that he was most likely backing out of directing the sequel, Ben Stiller seems the best choice for Zoolander 2.

Justin Theroux, fiance of Jennifer Anistion (Friends, We’re the Millers), originally appeared in the first film as the evil D.J. and was on board to direct the second installment until other opportunities got in the way.

“Yeah, we’ve got a script for the sequel, and we’ve just been in talks again,” he said. “We’re trying to sharpen it and hone it and, actually, I don’t want to jinx anything, but it looks like it actually might be starting to get up and running.”

But coordinating everyone’s schedules has been difficult.

“It’s actually been a little hard with The Leftovers, but now I’m back full-time to dedicate time toward doing it. I met with Ben a couple times when I was in New York doing the show, and then I’m meeting again with him probably in September.”

But when asked if he would be directing the new film, Theroux said that he didn’t think he was going to do it anymore.

“It really depends on whether [The Leftovers] gets picked up. If it gets picked up, then I don’t think I’ll have the time to do it. So it’ll probably get handed to Ben, which would be awesome.”

In the 2001 comedy, Ben Stiller played Derek Zoolander, a dim-witted but good-natured male fashion model. Other members of the cast included Owen Wilson, Christine Taylor (Stiller’s wife), Will Ferrell, Jerry Stiller, John Voight, Vince Vaughn, and many others including several celebrity cameos.

Although the film only grossed $60 million worldwide, thanks to DVD it eventually gained a large cult following.

Roger Ebert, who orginally wrote a horrible review of the film, later apologized to Stiller, saying,”Hey, I just want to apologize to you. I wrote that about Zoolander, and I [now] think it’s really funny. Everything was a little crazy [back then]. It was September 11 and I went overboard.”

However, despite the public interest, Stiller has not committed to directing Zoolander 2.

“[‘Zoolander 2’] has been discussed and in some way in the works for ten years,” Stiller told the Hollywood Reporter. “But there are no plans to start production any time soon.”

But Stiller did add that “[Zoolander 2 is] basically Derek and Hansel ten years later. Though the last movie ended on a happy note a lot of things have happened in the meantime. Their lives have changed and they’re not really relevant anymore. It’s a new world for them.”

Time will tell if Stiller actually agrees to direct, if Theroux changes his mind, or if Zoolander 2 will even happen at all. But fans sure hope to get to see “Blue Steel” again soon.
