  • Sean Lennon Says Mom, Yoko Ono, Fine After Brief Hospitalization

Sean Lennon says Yoko Ono, 83, is just fine after a bit of a scare and a short hospital stay.

Originally rumors circulated that the artist, singer and widow of John Lennon had a stroke, but Sean Lennon was quick to put those rumors to rest.

Sean Lennon wrote on Twitter, “Hey guys it was only rumors from press: was NOT a stroke, just dehydration/tired. She is FINE. Thank you everyone for your concern @yokoono”

In a follow up tweet, Sean Lennon experimented with a little word play, saying, “Only stroke @yokoono had was a Stroke of Genius! 🙂 She’s really fine. Thanks for all the well wishes! Big Love, Sean”

Soon the rumors subsided and Yoko Ono was back home suffering from nothing more than the flu, Sean Lennon reported.

He wrote, “Thanks again for everyone’s concern. She’s home and running about as usual. Just the flu in the end. I may go get a flu shot now…”

Yoko Ono had been really busy lately working on her new album called Yes, I’m a Witch Too with big name stars who helped fashion remixes of some of her old hits.

Collaborators included Death Cab for Cutie, Moby and Sean Lennon himself.

Perhaps the work on the album and its release last week was a little exhausting for the octogenarian icon?

  • Yoko Ono: John Lennon’s Widow Didn’t Suffer Stroke, Released from Hospital

Yoko Ono, the 83-year-old widow of Beatles legend John Lennon, was rumored to have been hospitalized this weekend after suffering from a stroke. Her son, Sean Ono Lennon, has since shared word that not only didn’t his mom have a stroke, but she was also released from the hospital on Saturday.

It was Friday night when an unconscious Yoko Ono was transported by ambulance from her home at the Dakota to Mount Sinai West Hospital, where it was later determined she was suffering from a severe case of dehydration as a result of the flu.

On Saturday, the only child of John Lennon and Yoko Ono seemed more than happy to announce his mom was home from the hospital.

During an interview with Us Weekly last week, Yoko Ono admitted she still misses John Lennon, who was shot and killed in front of the Dakota back in 1980.

“Maybe people already know this, but I miss John every day,” she said.

Yoko Ono also says in the interview that she had nothing to do with the breakup of The Beatles.

“I had nothing to do with breaking up the Beatles. And I think Paul [McCartney] is a pretty cool dude,” she said.

Yoko Ono fans no doubt find it pretty cool that at 83 she’s still an icon. And they’re surely happy to learn she’s back at home and in much better health that originally feared.

Yoko Ono Rushed to New York Hospital Unconscious, Admitted With Flu-Like Symptoms

Yoko Ono was unconscious when she was rushed to the hospital on Friday evening. First reports speculated the widow of the late John Lennon may have had a stroke, but that was later determined not to be true.

Taken from her home at the Dakota and rushed to Mount Sinai West Hospital, Yoko Ono, 83, was suffering from flu-like symptoms.

Ono has lived at the Dakota since 1973 when she and John Lennon purchased their apartment there. John Lennon was shot and killed in front of the building in 1980. The hospital where Yoko Ono was taken on Friday evening is where Lennon was pronounced dead.

In an interview with Us Weekly earlier this week, Yoko Ono says she still misses the late Beatles legend.

“Maybe people already know this, but I miss John every day,” she said.

Yoko Ono also insists in the interview that she had nothing to do with the breakup of The Beatles.

“I had nothing to do with breaking up the Beatles. And I think Paul [McCartney] is a pretty cool dude,” she said.

Yoko Ono’s publicist, Elliott Mintz, says she will likely be released from the hospital sometime on Sunday.
