  • Cruise Deals: Now Is The Time To Book Your Winter Cruise

Are you ready to leave the snow, ice and cold behind? Do you prefer a hot and sandy beach over a white winter wonderland? Well now is the time to book your winter cruise and fight those winter blues. There are many great cruise deals available and now is the time to book if you want to save money.

When you book your cruise, there are two important things that you have to decide on fairly quickly, where you are going and how much you can afford. Then you can choose the extent of your cruise and any other details that you want to plan.

One of the top destinations for winter cruises is the Caribbean. You can book a 5-night cruise for as little as $398 a person. Cold weather will be the last thing on your mind when you are aboard the Celebrity Constellation that departs from Fort Lauderdale, FL, on December 9. Enjoy stops throughout Cozumel, Mexico, and Key West, FL.

Ever thought about traveling to Dubai? Right now, you can get a 7-night Costa Cruises Dubai cruise for 2 for as low as $568. You will be on-board the luxurious Costa neoRiviera which departs from Dubai and stops in Muscat, Oman, and Abu Dhabi, UAE. The cruise leaves on December 15.

If you aren’t on a budget and want a real cruise adventure, consider an 8-night vacation to Greece. Dunhill Travel is offering a cruise and flight package that includes three nights in Santorini, three nights in Mykonos, and two nights in Athens. Be prepared to shell out at least $3,358 for this cruise deal, but you are still saving a significant amount compared to the regular price.

When you book your winter cruise and take advantage of one of these or any other cruise deal available right now, make sure you consider the port fees, taxes and other expenses that are not always included in the price you pay at booking. Keep these costs in mind if you are gifting a cruise this holiday season as well.

  • Winter Cruises: New Orleans Offers Two Vacations In One

Does the feel of the cold and the sight of ice and snow make you sad? Do you want to find a way to get away from the low temperatures and avoid winter depression? You may be in need of a winter cruise. Winter cruises are becoming more and more popular and more cruise lines have started offering them.

One of the most popular winter cruise ports is New Orleans and the Carnival Cruise Line has announced that they will be sending more ships and bigger ships to the port to transport passengers to their warm destinations, such as Florida, the Bahamas and the Canary Islands.
New Orleans might seem like an unlikely place for a successful cruise port, but the city is preparing to set its third straight record for cruise ship passengers this year, said Gary LaGrange, president and CEO of the Port of New Orleans.

In 2012, 977,703 passengers passed through the port. 736,908 passengers went through in 2011. With a 32 percent passenger increase between 2011 and 2012, the Port of New Orleans is hoping to see over a million passengers in 2013.
“This year we have a good shot at passing a million,” LaGrange said.

LaGrange believes that one of the reasons the port has been so successful over the years is because it provides two vacations in one. Not only do travelers get to enjoy their cruise and destination, but they also get to experience the charm of New Orleans while at the port. If you are looking to take a cruise this winter, why not make a stop at New Orleans before you go?
