DuckTales Remastered Finally Takes Us To The Moon

Last week, WayForward gave us a taste of the Moon level in DuckTales Remastered through a preview of the level’s music. The level’s music may be the most memorable part from the NES classic, but it’s not like the music is the only good thing about the level.

In the latest, and probably last, trailer for DuckTales Remastered, we finally get to see the Moon level in action. It looks like it retains the same excellent level design as before while the updated visuals add a whole new level of flair to the stage.

As for the music, it sounds great. Some will undoubtedly prefer the classic chiptune music of the NES version, but WayForward has done an excellent job in reimagining what is one of the most cherished video game tunes of all time.

DuckTales Remastered launches today, August 13, on the PSN, Wii U and Steam. It will be available on September 11 for the Xbox 360.

  • WayForward Talks Music In DuckTales Remastered

Music was incredibly important to DuckTales game for NES. One could even argue that the music was the single most important factor in ensuring the game remained popular to this day. The folks at Capcom and WayForward realize this, and want to assure fans that they’re making music a priority in the remake.

In the latest “duckumentary,” the developers at WayForward talk about how they approached sound and music in DuckTales Remastered. They revealed that voice acting wasn’t even a consideration when they first started working on the game, but Disney approached them a few months in with the opportunity to bring in the original voice actors from the game. They wrote a larger script to take advantage of this opportunity.

As for music, the composer says that he approached the songs with his own style while keeping the original composition intact. In the below video, we also get our first chance to hear the remastered Moon theme. I’ll let you form your own opinions on it, but I’m already a fan. In fact, all of the new music is pretty amazing.

DuckTales Remastered launches on August 13 for the PS3, Wii U and PC. It launches a month later on September 11 for the Xbox 360.

  • Travel To Africa In The Latest DuckTales Remastered Trailer

We’re a little under half a month away from the release of WayForward’s DuckTales Remastered. The developer still refuses to show off the Moon level and its accompanying music though. You’ll just have to settle for a look at the African Mines level instead.

With this latest trailer, WayForward further cements that it’s knocking it out of the park as far as remakes are concerned. If you’ve watched the “duckumentaries” released thus far, you’d know that they’re very passionate about this project. Everything from the gameplay to the music shows that level of passion for the source material.

DuckTales Remastered launches August 13 for the PS3, Wii U and PC. Xbox 360 gamers will have to wait until September 11 to get their quack on though.

  • Here’s A Look At The Art In DuckTales Remastered

DuckTales is fondly remembered as one of the best animated television series from the late 80s. A lot of that had to do with its excellent aesthetic design that drew upon years of wonderful comic art. Now WayForward is bringing that art back with its remake of the NES game based on the series.

In its latest “Duckumentary,” Capcom talks to the guys at WayForward regarding their efforts in bringing the DuckTales world to life. With designing Scrooge McDuck, the artists drew from the art used in the comics as well as the TV show. They also tried to stay true to the animation used in the original NES game.

The developers also revealed that their fleshing out the story by giving villains and supporting NPCs an expanded role in this latest game. With all of the original voice actors returning, it will be almost like we’re getting an all new episode of the TV series.

DuckTales Remastered will launch on August 13 for PC, PS3 and Wii U. It will launch a month later on September 11 for Xbox 360.

  • DuckTales Remastered Continues To Look Amazing

Can we all agree that DuckTales Remastered looks absolutely magical? The remake of the NES classic from Wayforward continues to be everything I’ve ever wanted out of a modern iteration of Capcom’s best Disney game.

Capcom released a new trailer for DuckTales Remastered today just in time for Comic-Con that shows off the Himalayas level. The combination of visuals, music and gameplay still work together incredibly well in the remake, and it might even be better thanks to the new hand-drawn graphics that better reflect the look of the original TV series.

It should be noted that Capcom has shown off trailers for all the environments in the game now except for the moon level. Fans are anxious to learn if Wayforward has done the level justice, and more importantly, retained the music that has gone on to become a legend in its own right.

You’ll be able to get your hands on DuckTales Remastered this weekend at San Diego Comic-Con. If you can’t make it, you won’t have to wait much longer. The game launches on August 14 for PC, PS3 and Wii U, and September 11 for Xbox 360.
