  • Vanessa Minnillo Is “Even Sexier” As A Mom, Says Nick Lachey

Vanessa Minnillo and hubs Nick Lachey are on the June cover of Parents Magazine along with their son, Camden, and the couple talk about what raising a child means for them. For Nick, it means seeing his wife in a whole new light.

“My wife’s maternal side is a new dynamic to her personality. It’s definitely made her even sexier,” he said.

The busy duo say they have thoroughly enjoyed taking on parenthood, but they have to make time just for themselves, too, which means keeping Camden on a strict bedtime so they can wind down for the day.

“We put on some music or a favorite TV show, pour a glass of wine, have dinner—that’s our ‘alone time’. That’s why it was so important to us to establish Camden’s sleep schedule right out of the gate. I had six different moms telling me, ‘Get him on a routine; you will thank yourself later’,” Minnillo said.

As far as having more little ones in the future, Nick hinted that it’s not out of the realm of possibility, saying that one of the most important lessons he can teach his son is respect for women…including any future female siblings.

“To respect all women. Including his mother and his sister, if he ever has one. But if he’s anything like me, he’ll be an emotional sap, and falling in love will probably happen way too easily for him. And then he’ll get his heart broken more than a few times,” Lachey said.

  • Vanessa Minnillo and Hubby Nick Lachey Cover ‘Parents’ Magazine

Vanessa Minnillo and her hubby Nick Lachey–along with their beautiful 20-month-old son Camden–cover the June 2014 issue of Parents magazine. The beautiful family is “a family first,” according to the article, but Vanessa makes it very clear that little Camden isn’t welcome in their bed.

“When you’ve got the little one between you,” she says, “it’s not as romantic as when the two of you are alone.”

It seems the couple has a favorite night time routine that ensues once Camden is down for the night.

“We put on some music or a favorite TV show, pour a glass of wine, have dinner—that’s our ‘alone time,’” she says. “That’s why it was so important to us to establish Camden’s sleep schedule right out of the gate. I had six different moms telling me, ‘Get him on a routine; you will thank yourself later.’”

Vanessa Minnillo jokes in the Parents article about how she met the former 98 Degrees boy band sensation. It just happened to be on the set of one of his solo endeavor music videos–What’s Left of Me.

“Apparently Nick had wardrobe approval, because I was wearing this little dress that was actually a shirt,” Minnillo joked.

He added his two cents worth as well, saying, “It was a dress as far as I was concerned.”

The two gushed over one another’s attributes as well.

“My wife’s maternal side is a new dynamic to her personality,” Nick Lachey shares. “It’s definitely made her even sexier.”

Minnillo adds, “I knew the man I was going to marry was not only a great man, a good friend, and a family guy, but he was going to respect and treat me well and be an amazing father and role model to our children. That’s Nick.”

Vanessa shared the following Instagram photo of herself with Camden on Mother’s Day, along with the caption, “This little boy has given me more than he’ll ever know. I have experienced the Love of a million hearts and seen the potential we have as women to do it ALL… in our own unique Beautiful ways! Happy Mother’s Day to all the Moms! You are loved and appreciated!’

It certainly sounds like Vanessa Minnillo and Nick Lachey have all their ducks in a row–especially where raising Camden and keeping their marriage alive and well are concerned. Might there be more children in their future?

Who knows? If so, he or she will certainly be born into a loving home where Mom and Dad seem to have their priorities straight–something not all Hollywood babies are fortunate enough to experience.

  • Vanessa Minnillo: She’ll Lose Baby Weight, But What About Us?

Vanessa Minnillo, who won over Nick Lachey’s heart after his messy divorce from Jessica Simpson, shared a family photo recently which displayed a very round, very full belly (I refuse to use the term “baby bump”, because ew). And she’s not even due until September, which makes me wonder just how big that belly’s going to get.

While it’s usually difficult to get back into shape after having a baby (unless you’re Heidi Klum), Minnillo had a pretty good jumping off point, so there’s no doubt she’ll be back to fighting weight in no time. For those of us who don’t have celebrity trainers, however, it’s not always so easy, or so quick. Here are ten tips for losing that weight and staying healthy after your baby is born, courtesy of Health-Mind-Body.

    1. First of all, give yourself some time. The most important thing to be concerned about is the baby. Your body also needs some rest after nine months of sharing a body. Give it two or three months at the least before you think seriously about starting your weight-loss regimen.

    2. Start slowly. The only way to stick with an Exercise plan is to ease into it. Women who dive head first into exercise may get discouraged by aches and pains.

    3. Don’t have unrealistic expectations. It takes time to get up enough energy to do a full workout and to lose the weight. Avoid discouragement by having small goals.

    4. Do something that you love to do. You may have to work back up to it but that’s okay. If you love jogging, start out walking until you are ready to jog. Exercise for the sake of exercise will not keep you going.

    5. Exercise at least three days a week to begin with. Twenty to thirty minutes three days a week will help you lose weight and keep your heart and lungs in shape. Leave a day of rest in between each workout so your body can recover.

    6. Eat a healthy diet. Part of the weight-loss equation is eating the right foods. Avoid processed foods, even healthy sounding ones in the frozen food aisle. If you are breastfeeding it is important to choose carefully. Fresh fruits, whole grains, plenty of vegetables and lean meats are good for a start. Keep it wholesome for you and your baby.

    7. Don’t neglect working out at home. You don’t need a fancy gym to get the exercise that you need. Pop in a video or walk around the neighborhood. The important thing is to keep moving and burn those calories.

    8. Integrate your baby into the exercise. You have a built-in workout partner. Place him in a stroller and get moving. Strap on a baby harness and hit the mall.

    9. Make it a family affair. Get the whole family moving for their Health. Do you have older children? Take a hiking day trip on the weekend.

    10. Integrate weight training. When you are ready, lifting weights will burn more calories than just aerobic activity alone. Buy a pair of dumbbells and perform a workout at home. FIRM has great DVD workouts that combine aerobics with weights for faster results.
