  • Anna Kendrick: ‘Pitch Perfect’ Actress Becomes Author

Anna Kendrick of Pitch Perfect fame will soon add ‘author’ to her repertoire of successes. The actress is set to pen a book of personal essays that will be published in about a year and a half.

On Thursday, Touchstone announced that Kendrick has a new deal for a collection of autobiographical essays. The publisher, an imprint of Simon & Schuster, says the book is as yet untitled and is scheduled to be released for sale in the fall 2016.

Anna Kendrick released a statement regarding her upcoming publication, joking that it was her chance to demonstrate her “ineptitude, pettiness, and the frequency with which” she embarrasses herself. That sounds like the perfect read for fans of the Pitch Perfect and Up in the Air star.

A new trailer was recently released for Pitch Perfect 2, and it features both Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson.

Anna Kendrick also appeared recently on the Lip Sync Battle stage alongside John Krasinski.

If Anna Kendrick hasn’t begun writing her book of essays, she will certainly have some memorable experiences to share. Between her antics behind the scenes and on camera in Pitch Perfect 2, and her recent foray into lip sync performances, she has no doubt had lots of mishaps that resulted in a wealth of laughs.

  • Anna Kendrick On Being Criticized For Her Looks

Anna Kendrick recently opened up about the constant criticism she receives for her looks. While most find the Twilight actress beautiful, Kendrick said not everyone feels that way.

“The most common thing that I get is, ‘Am I the only one who doesn’t think that Anna Kendrick is pretty?’” Kendrick told Marie Claire for the December issue that she serves as the cover girl for. “And you’re like, ‘No, you’re not the only one. Arguably, all of the boys in my high school agree with you.’”

Aside from her role in the Twilight saga, Kendrick is probably best known for her role alongside George Clooney in the 2009 film Up in the Air for which she received an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress.

“It was insane,” she said of her nomination. “Like really groovy and exciting. [But] there was a lot of ‘Why me?’—that sort of thing.”

Kendrick also talked about her most recent role as Cinderella in the upcoming film Into the Woods. She described her character as “thoughtful, complicated, and uncertain.”

“The character is thoughtful and complicated. You see what happens after she marries the prince, when you start to face problems in seemingly perfect situations,” she explained to the magazine. “The interesting thing about her is she overthinks things, she’s uncertain – we don’t see that in most versions. In a lot of ways, I think it’s this incredibly brave story. She’s neglected and abused her entire life she finally gets love and it’s not the kind of love she was looking for, and she stands up for herself.”

Into the Woods also stars Maryl Streep, Johnny Depp, Emily Blunt, Chris Pine, and James Gordon. The film is set to premiere in theaters on December 25.
