  • Ariel Winter Had Size F Breasts Before Surgery; Was Ridiculed [Pic]

Ariel Winter is only 17 years old. In an age — and at an age — when other celebrities are getting lip injections and other enhancements, Ariel Winter got her surgery for a very good reason.

At the age of 15 Ariel Winter’s breasts suddenly hit a growth spurt. While some might welcome that development, it got uncomfortable — even painful — for Winter.

“I was 15 years old with [size] F [breasts],” Winter told Glamour. “It’s like, ‘How do you navigate that?’”

Since Ariel Winter’s character on Modern Family is just now 16, the sudden increase in size even made it difficult for Ariel in terms of work.

“They had to hide it on Modern Family a lot,” Winter recalls. “Big sweaters, [or] strapping me down – which is fine – I understand that it doesn’t fit the character they have in mind. I understand that. But it was difficult to do that every day.”

Things got worse when Winter would step out to social events or on the red carpet.

“There was so little that I could wear that was age-appropriate,” Winter says. “I’d have to wear the dress that was super tight and formfitted everywhere because if I didn’t, it didn’t look good. I didn’t really have an option other than to wear fitted clothes. Everyone would [say], ‘Why is she dressing so mature? That’s so inappropriate for her age!’ I understood what they were saying. It’s not like I wanted to pick out those inappropriate dresses, it’s just that I didn’t really have another choice, or I was going to get ridiculed.”

“It’s hard when you’re a teenage girl and you already have a lot of ridicule and then you pile on more, and it’s kind of…it just gets too much,” she said.

So Ariel Winter decided to have breast reduction surgery. This was not some immature spur-of-the-moment kick. Ty Burrell, who plays Winter’s dad on Modern Family, emphasizes that Ariel is not like that.

“You know, I think the world of Ariel and just think that she’s just so grounded,” Ty Burrell said. “We’re very lucky. You have kind of a weird pride about all those kids as a TV parent. They’ve got their own parents and guardians, and they’re all very well taken care of, but you do have a sort of parental feel towards them.”

Now that she is a size more in proportion with how she feels she should be, Ariel Winter is looking forward to that red carpet.

“I’m just excited to try on all the dresses! Now I can wear all styles of dresses and all styles of things,” she gushes. “I don’t always have to pick the tightest, most formfitting dress I can find. I can pick something else and still feel good about myself.”

“It’s amazing to finally feel right. This is how I’m supposed to be.”

  • Sarah Hyland Busted Doing the Unthinkable — Munching on Pizza on the SAG Red Carpet

Sarah Hyland was caught doing what most actresses only long to do — she grabbed a piece of pizza and she chowed down on it while on the red carpet at Sunday’s 21st Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards in Los Angeles.

Yes, that’s right, she did the unthinkable.

And by the way, Sarah Hyland looked fabulous as she was caught in the act in a plunging, beaded beige, pink and black gown.

LA Times writer Yvonne Villarreal uploaded a pic of the 24-year-old actress’ unthinkable action on social media, which made women across the country commend her courageous move.

Sarah Hyland was at the awards ceremony with her fellow Modern Family cast mates, who were nominated for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series. Unfortunately, they lost out to the cast of Netflix’s Orange is The New Black.

It also wasn’t the best of nights for the Modern Family stars Ty Burrell (who won last year), Eric Stonestreet and Julie Bowen, who were nominated for Outstanding Performances by a Male and Female actor respectively. None of them walked home with the coveted prize this year.

On the other hand, Modern Family tied with Birdman for most nominations at this year’s SAG Awards.

  • ‘Modern Family’ Stars Ink New Deals with 20th Century TV

Ty Burrell just inked a one-year development deal with 20th Century Fox Television, the same company that produces Modern Family

This contract allows Burrell to co-create and develop original comedies for the studio. Burrell also will help promising projects get produced. Burrell’s new deal is only for writing and producing. He will remain exclusively starring on Modern Family.

In 2012, Burrell and his younger brother Duncan wrote a single-camera comedy based on their childhood for 20th Century TV. ABC bought the project with penalty. The studio’s President of Creative Affairs Jonnie Davis said this about the project, “Although it didn’t ultimately go to pilot, it was quite special — very specific and unusual.” Davis shared this about the new deal, “This deal is about deepening our relationship with this deservedly award-winning actor and tapping into a comedic community we want to access.”

“Someday I’d like to grow up to be a writer-producer full time,” Burrell said. “So I’m thrilled to be in business with Fox and to be writing and looking for material with my old pals, and UCB members, Johnny Meeks, Joel Spence and Mel Cowan, as well as my brother, Duncan Burrell. Aside from my brother, they’re all just so gorgeous.” Burrell isn’t the only Modern Family star to recently ink a new deal with 20th Century Fox. His co-star Eric Stonestreet signed a deal to produce a truck stop comedy at ABC and 20th Century.

The project called Big Stop is based on Stonestreet’s real-life family. Deadline described it as “a multi-camera comedy with a modern take on family and today’s current issues as seen through the lens of a bustling Kansas truck stop where stories and characters, like big rigs, come rolling in off the highway everyday.”

Stonestreet calls Big Stop a “workplace comedy.” He feels the characters are diverse and that everyone can relate to them. “It is relatable — no matter if you’re a businessman or a politician or a regular guy, we all find ourselves at a truck stop at one time or another,” said Stonestreet.

Modern Family airs at 8:00 PM CST on ABC.

  • Skeleton Twins: Third Impressive Box Office Weekend

The Skeleton Twins saw an impressive third weekend at the box office–placing eleventh overall this week following last week’s nineteenth-place standing. It has thus far grossed more than $1.26 million. The film stars Kristen Wiig, Luke Wilson, Ty Burrell, and Bill Hader. It won an award–Screenwriting Award: U.S. Dramatic–at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival back in January. Roadside Attractions and Lionsgate acquired the film earlier this year following its appearance at Sundance.

The Skeleton Twins follows estranged twins (Kristen Wiig and Bill Hader) who try to repair their relationship with one another after they both cheated death on the same day.

“A big part of the film’s success is due to the fact that Bill and Kristen, as well as Luke and Ty, gave big support on the PR front. They did literally 20 or more talk show appearances between them, in addition to a ton of regional and online press,” Roadside co-president Howard Cohen said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. He also noted that the film’s exceptional reviews are now motivating even more people to check it out in theaters.

The Skeleton Twins is expected to expand into even more theaters in the coming weeks. As of this weekend it averaged $3,278 per theater in box office sales.

Coming in just above The Skeleton Twins in the number ten box office spot is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, which grossed $1.45 million this weekend. Just below The Skeleton Twins in the number twelve spot is The Drop. It grossed just over a million dollars.

Have you been to check out SNL alum Kristen Wiig and Bill Hader, along with Ty Burrell and Luke Wilson in The Skeleton Twins? It sounds like it has a few poignant moments and lots of laughter, too. It will be interesting to learn howThe Skeleton Twins does next weekend–its fourth weekend in theaters.

  • Sofia Vergara Frolics Down Under in Sexy Monokini; Sarah Hyland Allegedly Groped

Sofia Vergara and the rest of the Modern Family cast made waves in Australia this week while filming scenes for their ABC sitcom.

Despite the crew’s outings around Sydney, however, Vergara commanded most of the attention when she wore a daring Agent Provocateur Mazzy monokini on Friday while filming.

Vergara and the rest of the cast filmed Modern Family scenes at Bondi Beach, where the gorgeous 41-year-old Colombian stole the show in her paneled and cut-out hot pink, lime, and orange bandage swimsuit. The actress paired the bright monokini with a low-slung, purple, sarong-style skirt and hoop earrings.

Vergara, who plays Gloria Delgado-Pritchett on the show, didn’t allow work to interfere with her fun, snapping selfies and clowning around with Ed O’Neill (Jay Pritchett, Vergara’s on-screen husband) and Ty Burrell (Phil Dunphy), who plays the husband of Julie Bowen (Claire Dunphy) on the show.

In one shot, Vergara is all-smiles while posing next to an oblivious O’Neill, captioning the photograph on her WhoSay account, “Ed [sic] look at the camera!!!!”

In another photo, Vergara splashes in the surf with 45-year-old Burrell, who wears only swim trunks.

Burrell’s on-screen daughter, Haley, played by 23-year-old Sarah Hyland, also sported a monokini on the beach, though she wore frilled blue number. Hyland seemed to be carefree, smiling while relaxing in a beach chair, though the star experienced a scary encounter with a fan on Thursday evening.

While at a party in Sydney at The Sebel Pier One, Hyland was allegedly touched inappropriately by a fan. The actress and her boyfriend, Matt Prokop, both Tweeted about the incident, though Prokop’s was later deleted.

  • Ty Burrell Dethrones Alec Baldwin at the SAG Awards

Alec Baldwin ended his seven-year reign as Best Male Performer in a Comedy Series when Ty Burell took home the coveted prize at the 20th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards show on Saturday.

Modern Family also bested 30 Rock to take home the award for Outstanding Comedy Ensemble, making SAG history as the first show to win four times in comedy ensemble.

In its fifth season, Modern Family has met with critical acclaim. It was ranked No. 34 on a list of the 101 most well-written TV series ever made by the Writers Guild of America in 2013.

Ed O’Neil, Sofia Vergara, Julie Bowen, Ty Burrell and Eric Stonestreet also star in the hit show about the relationships in a very nontraditional family.

As well as 30 Rock, Modern Family beat Veep, Netflix’s Arrested Development and CBS’ The Big Bang Theory in its category.

In his acceptance speech, Burrell gave some advice to young aspiring actors watching.

“I know most of you out here tonight have read my book, Acting: How to Do It Good, but I thought maybe…I would just go back over my five simple steps to success.”

Here are his five steps to success:

“1. Be born into a family that’s never had an actor in it that way they think everything you do is cooler than it actually is, thus giving you a false sense of confidence.
    2. Use that false sense of confidence to woo and trap a spouse that is better than you and is willing to overlook the fact that you have no apparent skill set other than being a needy extrovert.
    3. Have no skill set other than being a needy extrovert.
    4. Use that lack of skill to fail over and over and over again until you stumble into a job written by Chris Lloyd, Steve Levitan and our entire writing staff. Also at that job, make sure your coworkers are the cast of Modern Family.
    5. Um, have a knack for memorizing.”

  • Muppets Most Wanted Poster Debuts

The official movie poster for the new Muppets Most Wanted made its debut today in an Entertainment Weekly exclusive.

Ricky Gervais, one of the film’s co-stars, tweeted back in October:

He plays second-banana to villain and Kermit doppelgänger, Constantine, featured at his most sinister at the bottom, right corner of the poster. As per usual, the cast is a virtual who’s who of legendary Muppets and Hollywood elite: Kermit, Tom Hiddleston, Miss Piggy, Tina Fey, Fozzie, Ty Burrell, Animal and Ray Liotta among others.

The plot, sporting the tagline, “Taking the world by farce,” involves a jewel-heist by dastardly duo Constantine and Gervais, which drags along the Muppets, who are on a world tour. Echoes of The Great Muppet Caper (1981) anyone? The film is considered a follow-up to 2011’s The Muppets. Both are directed by James Bobin, who also has credits directing comedy TV Series’ Flight of the Conchords and Da Ali G Show.

Not involved in this iteration is the writer and (human) star of The Muppets, Jason Segel, who reported to Collider back in 2012 that, “My goal was to bring The Muppets back and I did that leaving them in very good hands, my writing partner and James Bobin the director. I did what I set out to do, and now I wanna pursue more human-related projects (laughs).”

The trailer for the latest Muppets flick was released back in August (re-shown above). The film won’t be out until next March so if you need a Muppet injection beforehand, you can watch the ABC Thanksgiving special, Lady Gaga & the Muppets’ Holiday Spectacular. Gaga will also have a cameo in the Most Wanted.
