  • Boston Celtics Tie Playoff Series, Paul Pierce Tebows

Although they were playing without the point guard, Rajon Rondo, the Boston Celtics tied their playoff series against the Atlanta Hawks at 1-1, thanks in large part to a huge game by Paul Pierce, who finished with 36 points and 14 rebounds. Pierce got the Celtics rolling by scoring his team’s first nine points of the game; and while Pierce’s statistical dominance deserves all of the praise it is getting, when he busted out the Tim Tebow pose at midcourt, Pierce’s in-game dominance took a back seat.

As you can see in the lead image, there’s no mistaking Pierce’s pose. There is, of course, video of Pierce Tebowing, just in case the image isn’t enough for you:

As is the case with anything sports related, especially the NBA, Twitter has been on fire with reaction, with many following the theme of “Tebow is so last year.” Others, who are apparently still mad at Pierce for beating the Lakers in 2008, took the opportunity to remind us they are unwilling to let the past go, right Jim Rome?

Paul Pierce was Tebowing? Oh. I thought he was waiting for his wheelchair pick up.(image) 9 hours ago via web ·  Reply ·  Retweet ·  Favorite · powered by @socialditto

    Haters still wanna hate, apparently.

You can blame Pierce for that.

It’s nice that Paul Pierce pay tribute by “Tebowing” during the game. A guy who makes bounce passes, respected a guy who makes bounce passes(image) 11 hours ago via web ·  Reply ·  Retweet ·  Favorite · powered by @socialditto

    Is that a burn?

Poor Sanchize. It’s all over for him the moment he throws his first interception, at least he will be in the eyes of Jets fans.

Paul Pierce “Tebowed” during a game. So what? I can’t wait until Metta World Ron Artest Peace comes back and “Amare’s” someone.(image) 11 hours ago via web ·  Reply ·  Retweet ·  Favorite · powered by @socialditto

Does everything have to become a meme? As for Pierce, he’s just tired.

  • Lauren Tannehill is the Trend Winner of the NFL Draft

While NFL teams were working diligently to replenish their rosters via the NFL Draft, something perhaps unexpected caught the collective masses’ eye: the fiancee of then-Texas A&M quarterback, Ryan Tannehill. When the signal-caller was selected by the Miami Dolphins at the eight position, ESPN’s camera couldn’t turn away from Lauren Ufer, Tannehill’s incredibly attractive soon-to-be wife.

So much so, in fact, the attractive blonde became something of an Internet trend, especially on Twitter. It should be noted there’s a little bit of name confusion going on. As you can see, ESPN captured Tannehill’s fiancee with her maiden name, which is Ufer. However, the soon-to-be Mrs. Tannehill has already embraced her upcoming name change, something her Twitter account–@LaurenTannehill–reflects quite well.

Ulfer/Tannehill, who apparently models in her spare time, enjoyed last night’s NFL Draft festivities a great deal:

Which gives us the following image:

A quick GIS indicates Ufer-Tannehill’s love for being attractive. For example:

It’s no wonder, then, that the future Mrs. Tannehill was a hit with the Twitter crowd:

Ryan Tannehill may not be winning with the Dolphins anytime soon, but he’s already won the game of life. His wife Lauren…WOW(image) 1 hour ago via TweetDeck ·  Reply ·  Retweet ·  Favorite · powered by @socialditto

We know Ryan Tannehill has good decision making skills. Did you see his wife?? http://t.co/R5DeUmmE(image) 14 hours ago via web ·  Reply ·  Retweet ·  Favorite · powered by @socialditto

For those wondering how many followers Ufer-Tannehill picked up since her newfound popularity, well, she currently has over 3000 followers. I’m not sure, however, how many she had before ESPN’s camera made her an Internet star.
