  • Ashton Kutcher Just Announced Contest for New Twitter Background

Ashton Kutcher is likely to get a raise for his role in Two and a Half Men. Kutcher has kept the show going since Charlie Sheen’s exit and the heart throb is believed to be the highest-paid star in TV comedy; he makes approximately $700,000 per episode.

Prior to taking on the role it was estimated that Kutcher would receive $8-900,000 per episode and many people felt that he would not be an adequate replacement.

Sheen was interviewed by ABC news and said Ashton is, “doing the best he can…um I don’t think the role is cursed, umm but I’m, I’m extremely disappointed with uh … how they are handling what I left behind.” You can watch the YouTube video here.

Despite his recent success with the show he has been getting a lot of attention for his failed marriage with Demi Moore.

It has been rumored that Ashton and Demi had an open marriage — and after one of his alleged mistresses came out, Demi was upset because he did not disclose his relations with the woman.

The affair has broken Demi’s heart and she wants to punish him financially for his indiscretion.

Here are some Twitter reactions to the divorce:

Apparently Demi Moore’s ‘sick to her stomach’ over Kutcher and Rihanna’s relationship. She’s probably regretting that divorce just about now(image) 8 hours ago via Twitter for iPhone ·  Reply ·  Retweet ·  Favorite · powered by @socialditto

  • Clint Eastwood’s Wife is Getting Her Own Show on E!

A new show called “Mrs. Eastwood and Company” is scheduled to air on the E! Network and follows the life of Clint’s wife Dina and their two daughters Francesca, 18, and Morgan, 15.

Dirty Harry will be in the first few episodes but Dina doesn’t want to push him for too much involvement. 81 year old Clint certainly sets the bar for how active a senior citizen can be. Between producing big pictures and raising two teenage daughters the gunslinger has his hands full.

So what can viewers expect to see on the show?

Dina says that the show will focus on the importance her family has to her, her career as a manager to a South African boy band named Overtone, her discovery of the six talented artists in Africa and her journey to bring them to America.

She recently helped the group of young men move to America by letting them stay at the Eastwood residence. She explains “I found them when Clint was filming Invictus. I flipped out for them. I said, ‘I’m moving them over here.’ From the day they got off the plane, everyone said, ‘This has to be a show.’”

Dina is only 46 making Clint over three decades older than she is.

The Overtones lended their voices to many songs on the Invictus Soundtrack. The following Youtube video shows the Overtones performing on the Late Late Show:

Twitter users are not excited about the show:

  • Twitter Teams Up With the NFL For Super Bowl 45

If you’re having a hard time keeping up with all the NFL/Super Bowl XLV-related tweets, a new partnership between Twitter and the NFL will alleviate these issues.

A post on the official Twitter blog reveals the details, which will allow users to follow these messages in a real-time format, thanks to a surprisingly-robust page at NFL.com, featuring a map showing what the majority of NFL-related tweets are discussing, a trends tab, and a “Steelers VS Packers” page that shows which team is trending the most

Naturally, this information is derived from how many times either the Packers or the Steelers are mentioned on Twitter, and if it’s anything like last year, both will be mentioned a great deal.

    NFL and Twitter

While discussing the partnership, Twitter’s blog entry reveals:

Last year, during key moments of Super Bowl XLIV, about 40% of all Tweets were related to the game. As the game ended, this number was closer to 50%. This year, one-third of the players who were in the NFL playoffs are on Twitter. And, at some points during last Sunday’s AFC and NFC championship games, virtually all trends were football-related.

Considering how much more Twitter has intertwined itself into society, even since last year, it wouldn’t be a bit surprising if, on Super Bowl Sunday (February 6th), 75% of all tweets were related to the Packers/Steelers game.

Other areas of interest on the NFL’s “Twitter Tracker” page include a map of United States, which shows the Twitter/Super Bowl trends in relation to their location.  Obviously, the northeast portion of the U.S. is all about Pittsburgh.

There’s also a “Players” tab, which ranks the highest trending player, according to tweets.

Surprisingly enough, the current leader is Nick Barnett, linebacker for the Packers.  One would expect Aaron Rodgers or Ben Roethlisberger to take that honor.

Another feature allows users to follow the tweets of Super Bowl-related content as well.  This includes players, media and NFL personnel, and it’s featured on the start page on the right-hand column.  Users are also able to respond to a poll question, via their Twitter account, and their responses will be shared across this particular network.

This year, keeping up with all the Super Bowl-related Twitter chatter will be exponentially easier.   Just don’t forget about watching the game, something that tends to get lost as the hype for Super Bowl event (the parties, the commercials) continues to grow.

Unfortunately, the actual game itself gets relegated to an “oh yeah” status from time to time, thanks, in large part, to all the effort that goes into getting the hype machine rolling.
