  • Brittany Snow: ‘Pitch Perfect’ Star Injures Herself Twerking

    Brittany Snow of Pitch Perfect fame admits she injured herself twerking while filming Pitch Perfect 2. It’s kind of sad to think that people other than Miley Cyrus take part in the rather controversial dance move, but since Brittany Snow did it in part to bring the Pitch Perfect cast back to the big screen, then she’ll no doubt be forgiven.

    “I’m a really bad twerker—I still haven’t figured out how to do it,” she said during a recent interview with Cosmopolitan. “I actually hurt my back one day. I woke up the next morning and my back was completely tweaked out…from twerking.”

    “One of my favorite scenes to do was this number where we really get dirty with our dancing,” Brittany Snow added. “We had a month of rehearsals learning how to do things I’m just not cool enough to do in my real life.”

    The actress also touches upon is her boyfriend–and that’s a topic she doesn’t often talk about. She and Teen Wolf star Tyler Hoechlin are very happy together.

    “Sometimes if you give too much away, it loses its magic, as cheesy as that sounds. We like to keep our moments to ourselves, which is why we don’t do much social media,” Snow explained. “We’re not hiding anything. We’re not not wanting people to know.”

    “Social media, for me, is about interacting with people who follow my career. I don’t think my relationship has anything to do with my career. So we just keep it simple, try not to think about it that much, and just be us.”

  • Paula Patton Stronger Since Split from Robin Thicke

    Paula Patton thought long and hard before filing for divorce from Robin Thicke back in October, and as a result has emerged even stronger than she was before. The song that catapulted Robin Thicke to the top of the music charts was ‘Blurred Lines,’ and it seems he had a problem with a few blurred lines of his own. He stumbled through much of his newfound fame in a blur of drugs and alcohol–and even rumors of a cheating scandal, not to mention there was that twerking escapade with Miley Cyrus in a very provocative live TV performance. Paula Patton didn’t see that the lines of holy matrimony should be blurred ones, so she ended things with her husband of almost 10 years.

    Last Friday, Paula Patton chatted with Robin Roberts on Good Morning America, and told her that despite the trials and tribulations she experienced during and in the process of ending her marriage, she has emerged a much stronger woman.

    “I mean, the honest truth is it has been challenging, but it’s been a year of growth–lots of healing, learning about all new things. But, I’ve come out of it stronger, and my son’s happy, and I’m very, you know, I feel like everything happens for a reason. And then you have to move on and grow from there,” Paula Patton said.

    “The truth is, it’s hard for me to say this, because I don’t always do this, but it’s being grateful for what you have. I mean, it’s so easy for all of us to focus on the negative things, but usually the positive in your life outweighs that, and you have to just be thankful for what you have right now. That’s what I try to work on. My son also helps me with that. The thing is you can’t wallow in sadness or stay in bed when you have a child. And they’re so full of life and wonder, and he brings me so much joy,” she added.

    Even though Paula Patton has emerged stronger since ending her marriage, that doesn’t necessarily mean Robin Thicke has experienced the same result. He wrote a song called ‘Paula’ that was his last-ditch effort at winning his wife back. It obviously didn’t work.

    Fortunately Paula Patton and Robin Thicke are friendly these days, despite their split. The two share a four-year-old son named Julian, and it’s important, of course, that life for him remains happy and stable.

  • Demi Lovato and Miley Cyrus: Nothing in Common

    Demi Lovato and Miley Cyrus used to be good friends, but it certainly sounds like that’s not the case any more. In fact, the two have nothing at all in common–at least according to the ‘Heart Attack’ singer. Demi Lovato answered some of her fans’ questions Monday on Boston’s The TJ Show, when the question of Demi and Miley arose.

    The caller asked Lovato whether she and Cyrus were still pals. A silence preceded an awkward response. After the rather long pause, Demi Lovato responded.

    “Umm, yeah… that. We’re like, acquaintances,” she replied.

    Demi the did her best to explain what happened between her and the former Hannah Montana star.

    “Yeah, it’s life and people change,” Lovato said. “And you, know, I don’t have anything in common with her anymore, and I wish her all the best.”

    Demi Lovato and Miley Cyrus, who are both 22, grew up as Disney Channel child stars–starring in Sonny With A Chance and Hannah Montana, respectively. Selena Gomez starred in The Wizards of Waverly Place at the same time.

    Miley Cyrus has had a love of the limelight in recent years. She has made a huge name for herself in Hollywood circles. Her split from Liam Hemsworth and her twerking on last year’s VMAs thrust her even further into the spotlight than she’s ever been. Demi Lovato has preferred to do her concerts, appearances, and interviews, and then sort of withdraw from the Hollywood social scene. Every now and then she and boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama are spotted out for a special evening, but given her past issues with drugs and alcohol, Demi isn’t much for the party scene.

  • Iggy Azalea Suffers Embarrassing Pants Rip In Bar Mitzvah Performance

    Iggy Azalea was booked to perform at a private Bar Mitzvah over the weekend, and the party-goers got a lot more than they bargained for after the Australian rap star accidentally split her pants during a performance of the song “Booty”. Azalea was dancing to the song, a collaboration with Jennifer Lopez, when the wardrobe malfunction occurred.

    Video of the event surfaced on November 3. In the video, the crowd can be heard screaming when they realized what had happened. Azalea apparently went commando on that particular day. And while it may have shocked those in attendance, Azalea took it all in stride. She continued her performance, while strategically covering the hole in her pants and modifying her dance moves.

    Despite the wardrobe malfunction, it seemed that everyone had a great time. Aside from 24-year-old Azalea, Nick Jonas also performed at the Bar Mitzvah.

    The 007-themed Bar Mitzvah was held at the Beverly Hills Hotel, a hotel owned by the Sultan of Brunei. The hotel is currently being boycotted because of the Sultan’s anti-gay sentiments.

    The celebrant, Julian Kemper, is the son of Linda Kerkorian and Ross Hilton Kemper. His grandfather, Kirk Kerkorian, is a billionaire business mogul and is regarded as one of the godfathers of Las Vegas. Kerkorian was involved with the development of some of the most iconic Vegas fixtures like Caesar’s Palace and MGM Grand.

    The family reportedly spent $450,000 for the party which also included a casino and extravagant flower displays.

    Aside from her wardrobe malfunction, Iggy Azalea also made the social media rounds recently after dressing up as a character from White Chicks during a Halloween party. This came right after Snoop Dogg made comments comparing her to Marlon and Shawn Wayans in the movie.

    It seems Iggy’s not only a consummate professional, she also has a sense of humor.

  • Miley Cyrus Flossed Butt With Mexican Flag, Why?

    Miley Cyrus is in the news again. Practically everyone knows by now that the ‘Wrecking Ball’ singer flossed her fake plastic butt with the Mexican flag–while performing on stage in Mexico. Is the girl stupid? Is she really that disrespectful? Or is this simply more of the ‘shock value’ she’s successfully used to ramp up her career since twerking at the 2013 VMAs? Oh, and to top it all off–it was Independence Day in Mexico–akin to our 4th of July. How might Americans react to a half-dressed (or less) singer having her butt flossed with the American flag?

    The Wire is reporting that not only were Miley Cyrus’s actions disrespectful–they were illegal, too. In fact, they report, far less objectionable desecrations of the Mexican flag in recent years have led to steep fines. There is now some question as to whether concert promoters Zignia Live might pay the price for Miley’s actions.

    According to Milenio.com, however, Zignia Live is pointing fingers at Miley Cyrus and claiming they aren’t responsible.

    “The artist brings his show and actually we can not as promoter interfere in what he does… the truth is that this issue in particular is talking to her to have a little more care and will not be repeated in other cities,” Dante Guillen, manager national press and promotion for Zignia Live, told Milenio.com.

    There’s even been some speculation about jail time for Miley Cyrus.

  • Liam Hemsworth: Missing Miley Cyrus?

    Liam Hemsworth recently praised ex-fiancee Miley Cyrus publicly, fueling some speculation that the Hunger Games star is missing the ‘Wrecking Ball’ singer. Hemsworth was reportedly overheard dishing about Miley in a restaurant in Italy, where he’s been vacationing, saying that the two would “always be best friends” and they had “an instantaneous and powerful connection.”

    “Liam kept raving about how amazing she was, how much they clicked and understood everything about each other. He also said they bought a lot of furniture but he had to leave it behind when they broke up and he got his new place, which was furnished,” a source shared.

    Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth met when both starred in the Nicholas Sparks film The Last Song back in 2009. Hemsworth proposed to the iconic twerker three years later with a 3.5 carat Neil Lane engagement ring.

    Liam and Miley were last spotted together for the L.A. premiere of his film Paranoia. It was shortly thereafter that he announced their split. Miley Cyrus told Elle magazine during a post-breakup interview that she once believed she couldn’t live without both Disney and Liam Hemsworth.

    “When I went through a really intense breakup — you know, I was engaged — and when I was with him [Hemsworth] or when I was on Disney, the thing that gave me the most anxiety was not knowing what to do with myself when Disney wasn’t there to carry me anymore or if I didn’t have him,” she said.

    “And now I’m free of both of those things, and I’m fine. Like, I lay in bed at night by myself and I’m totally okay, and that’s so much stronger than the person three years ago, who would have thought they would have died if they didn’t have a boyfriend,” the ‘Party in the U.S.A.’ singer added.

    Do you believe Liam Hemsworth really said those things about Miley Cyrus while in an Italian restaurant? Do you suppose the ‘source’ may have embellished his comments just a bit? It stands to reason that Liam might be missing Miley–they spent a long time together, after all. However it seems quite unlikely that he wants her back. Her behavior and his upbringing by religious Aussie parents don’t really go hand in hand.

  • Robin Thicke: Can He Win Paula Patton Back With New Song?

    Robin Thicke has reportedly written a brand new song that will debut at the Billboard Music Awards this coming Sunday May 18th. Called Get Her Back, rumor has it the song is another of his attempts to win back his estranged wife, actress Paula Patton.

    Thicke and Patton were childhood sweethearts who were married for almost nine years when news of their break up hit the media this past February. This isn’t the first public plea the Blurred Lines singer, who once appeared on stage with a very risque Miley Cyrus during the premiere of her infamous twerking, has made to Paula Patton. In fact, Thicke has beseeched the actress in public several times since February from various stages around the country in hopes that she will come back to him. To Robin Thicke’s credit he was not twerking at the time of those performances.

    The lyrics to Get Her Back feature lines like, “All I wanna do is make it right … I gotta get her, go get her back / I gotta treat her right / I gotta cherish her for life … I should’ve kissed you longer / I should’ve held you stronger / And I’ll wait for forever for you.”

    “We will always love each other and be best friends; however, we have mutually decided to separate at this time,” Robin Thicke and Paula Patton said in a joint statement back in February.

    It was just about a month later when Thicke talked to E! about his separation from his wife.

    “We’re both very happy,” he said. Robin went to to explain why his concerts sometimes seemed like confessionals.

    “I wasn’t sharing anything except what I was going through at that very second,” he said. “So for me, as an entertainer and a songwriter, it’s important for the music to be honest.”

    Will Sunday night’s heart felt confessional be enough to win Paula Patton back?

    Paula Patton had this to say about Robin Thicke in the June 2014 issue of Vanity Fair.

    “We’ve known each other since we were teenagers. All I can tell you is there’s a deep love there—always was, and always will be,” she said.

    Miley Cyrus Denies Drug Overdose

    Twerking sensation Miley Cyrus has denied rumors that her recent illness was the result of a drug overdose, and asserts that she is “the poster child for good health.”

    While addressing talk that her recent hospital stint was actually due to illicit drug use, Cyrus insisted that this was not the case, during a press conference at London’s O2 Arena Tuesday, in anticipation of the relaunch of the European leg of her Bangerz tour. “I didn’t have a drug overdose,” Cyrus explained, adding, “I took some shitty antibiotics that a doctor gave me for a sinus infection and I had a reaction.”

    The potty-mouthed superstar, 21, commented, “I’m probably the only one on this tour who doesn’t drink or smoke before a show, as I take this really seriously. It’s almost like being an athlete being up here, because if someone was fucked up, they definitely couldn’t do my show.”

    Cyrus attributes her recovery to vitamins and honey, and called her hospital stay “the most miserable two weeks of (her) life.” The pop idol made her rounds on social media as she prepared to return to her Bangerz stage:

    Cyrus was forced to cancel the last of her North American Bangerz tour dates after falling ill in mid-April due to an extremely adverse reaction of antibiotics. The singer ended up being hospitalized for several days, and tour dates had to be rescheduled. It’s been speculated that Cyrus’ loss of her beloved dog Floyd might have compounded her illness. Just before getting sick, Cyrus had apologized in advance to Boston fans for her April 2nd gig. “I’m sorry in advance if I am not myself tomorrow Boston. I will try my best to be my best,” Cyrus said.

  • Miley Cyrus Does London, First Leg of ‘Bangerz Tour’ Post-Hospitalization

    Miley Cyrus is back in full force. Her Bangerz Tour is back on track and according to fans in London she did a fabulous job in concert there. Miley’s first London show was Tuesday night and she donned a Union Jack leotard as part of her stage presence. She encouraged ticket holders at London’s O2 Arena to join her as she twerked and wagged her tongue to the music. She even encouraged some same sex action.

    “She got loads of people of the same sex to snog in the audience and put them on camera on a giant screen and made a speech about how we should all just ‘be ourselves,’” one source said. “She said she ‘hopes we are all drunk and on loads of pills.’”

    Miley Cyrus suffered a severe allergic reaction to antibiotics back on April 15th and was hospitalized for several days as a result. She had to cancel tour dates following her discharge from the hospital, too–per her doctor’s orders.

    The Wrecking Ball singer was excited to share word of her return–replete with her tongue hanging out–via Instagram.

    “but first…. #letmetakeaselfie #bangerztourselfie,” she captioned the photo.

    Miley Cyrus spoke with the media earlier on Tuesday and addressed rumors that a drug addiction and not an allergic reaction to an antibiotic had resulted in the cancellation of the remainder of her U.S. concert dates on her Bangerz Tour. She certainly didn’t hide the fact that she likes to smoke pot, however. She wore sunglasses in the shape of marijuana leaves while on stage later that same night.

    Singer Lily Allen attended Miley’s London show on Tuesday. She apparently hopped off a plane from the Met Gala in New York and rode a motorbike to the O2 arena.

    Allen later told Miley Cyrus how much she enjoyed her show.

  • Miley Cyrus Doesn’t Want Twerking On New Tour

    Miley Cyrus doesn’t want to do any more twerking, especially on her upcoming “Bangerz” tour, because she doesn’t want the spotlight to be on the dance that made her infamous. Rather, she wants fans to focus on her singing abilities.

    According to a source close to the singer, she wrote the performances herself and doesn’t want the racy dance to overshadow her vision.

    “Miley is well aware of the controversy that her twerking caused last year and while she is not at all regretful of it, she doesn’t want it to define her concerts. She has written the show herself, it’s like a play and it has a theme but more than anything Miley wants the world to see that she can actually sing,” the source said. “Since June, when twerking became infamous, Miley doesn’t feel that she has always been portrayed as a serious artist but someone who just bends over and behaves in a raunchy manner. She thinks her raw talent has been overshadowed by this and wants to put it right.”

    Although Cyrus has made it a point to be overtly sexual in recent years–as evidenced in the performance she gave with Robin Thicke at the MTV VMAs–she says she doesn’t want people to get the wrong idea about her.

    “I went from people just thinking I was, like, a baby to people thinking I’m this, like, sex freak that really just pops molly and does lines all day. There’s a sex scene in pretty much every single movie, and they go, ‘Well, that’s a character.’ Well, that’s a character. I don’t really dress as a teddy bear and, like, twerk on Robin Thicke, you know,” Cyrus told the New York Times.

    Nevertheless, Cyrus did do a menage-a-trois-themed photo shoot for Vogue recently and has compared her performances to Madonna’s, saying that the point is to shock people, to make them remember.

    “How many times have we seen this play out in pop music? Madonna’s done it, Britney’s done it. Every VMA performance… anyone that performs, that’s what you’re looking for. You’re wanting to make history,” she said after the VMAs.

  • Helen Mirren ‘Twerks’ While Accepting Harvard’s Hasty Pudding Award

    Oscar-winner Dame Helen Mirren showed off a little bit of her bum-shaking skills on Thursday at Harvard University’s Hasty Pudding Theatricals Award Ceremony.

    The ceremony is put together by one of the nation’s oldest drama companies, which presents annual awards to actors who have made a profound impression in the entertainment industry.

    Casting members asked the 68-year-old actress to twerk, so she did just that.

    Although she seemed quite embarrassed, but yet humored by her own actions, she happily received her Hasty Pudding Theatricals Woman Of The Year award.

    In her acceptance speech, she mentioned how a honorary duty that was presented to her by Prince Charles for the Samsung Celebrate Success ceremony, was nothing compared to the award she received from Hasty Pudding Theatricals. (image)

    “…And I was made a dame of the British Empire,” she said. “I had to go to Buckingham Palace and uh, I was honored by actually not her royal highness, by Prince Charles. Didn’t come anywhere close to this.”

    Following the ceremony, Mirren sported her gold medal and joined the costumed troupe outside for some parade-fun.

    As an entertainer, Mirren has accomplished some of the greatest achievements within her acting career. For instance, her portrayal of Queen Elizabeth II in “The Queen” won her an Oscar in 2006. That movie role alone also made her the recipient of 29 major awards.

    Surprisingly, one ‘a-lister’ that Mirren particularly likes is none other than the ‘Queen B’ herself. No, not Queen Elizabeth but Beyoncé, who also gave a little ‘butt action’ during her Grammy performance on Sunday 26.

    “I think she’s quite extraordinary,” she told People.com, as she remember seeing the singer during a live performance. “She had this incredible sense of concentration and energy and preparation. I was very impressed by that. Standing in the wings watching her was this explosion of energy. Quite spectacular.”

    As far as twerking goes, she’s not too fond of her skills.

    “I’ve tried in my bedroom in private in front of the mirror, very unsuccessfully,” she said. “Absolutely humiliating to have to do it in public in front of a whole load of people.”

    Mirren may just be ‘cooler’ than we think, especially since her awful attempt at twerking! Although she seems to be quite conservative, she also appears to be an outgoing woman.

    “The Tempest” actress was once quoted saying:

    “Actors are rogues and vagabonds. Or they ought to be. I can’t stand it when they behave like solicitors from Penge. I’m a would-be rebel. The good girl who’d like to be a bad one.”

    It’s obvious that Miley Cyrus likes to twerk- a lot. She’s twerked on Robin Thicke, she’s twerked on Santa and now, she has even twerked on a horse. That’s right, just when you thought Miley Cyrus couldn’t get any more ridiculous, she decided to put on one of her craziest shows yet on MTV’s Unplugged.

    It’s hard to tell at this point if Miley’s performances are meant to be funny or if the poor girl is just losing her mind and bringing everyone onboard for her wacky acid trip. During Unplugged, Miley had a chance to do something different. Maybe sing with some range or finish a performance without humping something or sticking her tongue out? Nope, she wasn’t able to do that and we all saw the same old Miley do the same old moves that she’s been doing for the last few months.

    One of the most confusing things about Miley’s performance is how she was able to talk Madonna into doing a duet with her and sinking to her level. Madonna seemed fine with Miley grinding on her and spanking her. At one point she even stuck her tongue out just like Miley. While Madonna has been known to be wacky as well, most fans expected more from her.

    Throughout the performance, Miley appeared to put the moves on a horse, calling it sexy, twerking on it and at one point sitting on its back and humping it. She also grabbed her own boobs and crotch a lot. Although she was singing, most people were not listening to what she was saying, but more focused on what she was doing on stage.

    If Miley is trying to gain attention by shocking her fans, she sure is doing a good job. But is she actually ruining her image and how long will it take before everyone stops taking her seriously as an artist? It seems like Miley is walking the fine line between creativity and insanity.     Miley Cyrus added spanking to her repertoire of offensive actions in an MTV Unplugged special on Wednesday. The Wrecking Ball singer spanked none other than Madonna–and claims she liked it, which the 55-year-old no doubt did. Miley also twerked a la the American Music Awards in the Unplugged special.

    Instead of a giant panda this time, however, Miley twerked on a horse, but she wore more clothing than she’s worn in the past six months. Miley claims her costumes are inspired by her country background and her godmother, Dolly Parton.

    “I tried to bring Nashville here for the night,” Cyrus told the audience.

    Miley kept her Twitter followers abreast of the upcoming event, counting down the hours until her performance with Madonna. She was excited after the fact as well, sharing word of her on stage physical contact with the Material Girl.

    Miley Cyrus covered Dolly Parton’s hit song Jolene, in what was a brilliant decision. The song’s style fit Miley perfectly and the tremor in her voice is even akin to that of Parton’s in the 1973 hit. She and Madonna performed We Can’t Stop and Don’t Tell Me from Miley’s recent hit album. She even frisked Madonna following the songs.

    “That was pretty f–king cool, you guys,” she told the audience following the feel. “It sounds super lame, but as a pop star it’s pretty cool performing with Madonna. Today was one of those days that was pretty easy to get out of bed. I get to perform with Madonna in bedazzled cowboy boots. I can’t really complain about anything. Well, I can’t perform when I’m stoned. That’s one thing to complain about, I guess.”

    Oh, Miley. Will her obsession with overt sexual escapades on stage ever end or will she wind up just like Madonna–still attempting to carry them out (rather unsuccessfully like at the Grammy Awards) when she’s 55?

  • Dolly Parton: Will U.S. Tour Dates Have Twerking?

    Dolly Parton, the adorable self-described “girl next door” has just announced the 2014 U.S. tour dates of her “Blue Smoke World Tour,” which coincide with her upcoming release of the same name.

    So far, the announcements on her twitter page have only covered overseas spots such as Europe, Japan and New Zealand, but yesterday she proudly announced shows in California, Oklahoma, North Carolina and more. Knoxville, Tennessee is especially excited about the May 28th date scheduled to be held at the University of Tennessee to benefit Dolly’s Imagination Library.

    Blue Smoke is Parton’s first album since 2011, and her 42nd release overall. This year has been exciting for her–between rapping, twerking and calling out Miley Cyrus (it’s all love, though) on The Queen Latifah Show and getting recordings inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame, she’s been steadily announcing tour dates starting in January and ending in July.

    Looking forward to when Dolly brings it on home next year to wow us with new and favorite songs as well as the new dance grooves she’s apparently picked up from her goddaughter.

  • Two Women Are Caught Twerking on Subway Tracks

    What’s the first thing that pops in your head when you’re taking public transportation, namely the subway? If it’s not, “Hey, we should twerk on the subway tracks,” then you might not be able to run with the two girls in the video above. On the flip side, your chances at making it well into adulthood will have quadrupled.

    A video uploaded to YouTube earlier this week shows two women twerking on the subway tracks. It would be ridiculous enough if they decided to twerk on the platform, but the tracks? Sometimes there just aren’t words.

    When the New York Post talked to the Metropolitan Transportation Authority spokesperson, he didn’t have a lot to say but certainly summed up our thoughts on the video. “One word, dumb,” said MTA spokesman Kevin Ortiz.

    Twelve people have died in MTA subway accidents through June 2, 2013, and 36 people died due to accidents on the subway in NYC last year. Considering that quite a few people die each year on the MTA subway tracks, it is hard to believe that someone would choose to go down to the tracks to shoot a video.

    Officials aren’t sure which subway station the girls were at, but they have reportedly sent the video to the NYPD. According to the MTA website, not only is going down to the tracks illegal, but people who do so may have to pay a fine of $50. This doesn’t seem severe enough considering the situation, but perhaps the NYPD will find another charge to tack on should they find the identities of the women–being a nuisance to the public, perhaps?

    The video is only 13 seconds long, and we don’t really know what happened after the camera shuts off, but it appears that two women have survived what might be the world’s dumbest twerking exhibition.

    “No face,” says one of the subway twerkers as the camera pans around to the front. Unfortunately for the lead twerker, the cameraman did catch a glimpse of her face – and I’m sure the internet sleuths will figure out her identity before the holiday’s over.

    The two look to avoid the third rail and seem to steer clear of any oncoming train – thus narrowly escaping any future nominations for a Darwin Award. I thought twerking was dead after Miley Cyrus’ VMA performance – and I definitely thought it had run its course after 11-year-olds were doing the move at school dances. Nope, I guess we had to have subway twerking to finally kill it.

    Miley would be so proud. I know their parents sure are.

    Miss Miley is no stranger to the media’s spotlight. And the once-upon-a-time southern bell definitely marches-or should I say twerks-to the very own beat of her weird, little drum. After a year of craziness from buzzing and dying her long locks platinum blonde to her eye-popping VMA performance with Robin Thicke, the music diva has finally come down on what seems to be a softer, more mature note.

    After her performance last night at the 2013 American Music Awards, Cyrus seems to be toning things back-but only just a bit. When it was announced that Cyrus was going to be closing the award show, it didn’t seem so far-fetched that she would pull out all the stops, making jaws drop yet again. But aside from her cat-clad two-piece bikini and cat backdrop, the now 21-year-old’s performance was powerful and well put together.

    There were no backup dancers that Cyrus could dance with or giant dancing teddy bears. The set was simple for last night’s performance. She stood up on the stage alone, belting out emotional lyrics. Looking lean as ever, Cyrus stood before a boisterous audience and bared it all.

    And yes-the star’s eyebrows were intact for last night’s performance. No bleached eyebrows in sight.

    So is will this performance mark something new for the pop superstar? Has she turned down the crazy or is she just taking a little break from it all?

    Miley Cyrus Smokes Weed, Wins Big at EMAs

    Miley Cyrus smoked what sources say was weed during the MTV European Music Awards in Amsterdam on Sunday, where she also won big for her hit song Wrecking Ball.

    Not one to appear on stage without at least a bit of controversy, Miley lit up a joint and puffed on it as she accepted the Best Video award for Wrecking Ball.

    While her performance wasn’t as lewd as the VMAs, where she infamously twerked during Robin Thicke’s song Blurred Lines, she did dress rather indiscreetly, wearing a white bodysuit that provided little to no coverage in the crotch. She also danced with one of her ‘little person‘ dancers in a rather suggestive manner–grabbing the dancer’s breast during the act.

    Fortunately the real highlight of Miley’s EMAs experience was the quality of the former Hannah Montana star’s vocals. Her performance of Wrecking Ball was pitch perfect and powerful. Another big plus for the event was the absence of Cyrus’s ever-present tongue. Instead she managed to keep in rather neatly tucked inside her mouth both before and during the show.

    Miley Cyrus also impressed fans with an exceptional rendition of We Can’t Stop earlier in the EMAs. And prior to the show, she skipped the reporters on the red carpet in favor of chatting with fans instead, much to their delight.

    Given Miley’s recent behavior, and with the exception of smoking weed on stage (she was in Amsterdam, after all), this certainly seemed to be one of her better major appearances in recent months. Might Miley Cyrus be out to change her image? Or did the EMAs just happen to fall on a date when she was feeling especially tame?

    Miley Cyrus is, for all intents and purposes, moving on with her life following her split from Liam Hemsworth; she’s continuing with the provocative outfits, the racy shows, and yes, the twerking. But recently she hit Vegas, and the mask began to slip a little…along with her top.

    The 20-year old performed at the iHeartRadio Music Festival on Saturday in a lace-up bustier with nothing underneath, and when it slipped, the crowd got a view of her nip. Later, during a different set at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, she donned a white mesh number with fur sleeves and black pasties underneath, so maybe she learned her lesson.

    Audience members have said that during her performance of “Wrecking Ball”, she had tears streaming down her face, but that didn’t stop her from partying backstage with Khloé Kardshian Odom, Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner and, at some point, twerking.

    Cyrus has long outgrown her “Hannah Montana” days and has made quite a few waves in Hollywood with her choice of wardrobe these days, but several celebrities say they don’t see anything wrong with it. Dawn Richard of Danity Kane weighed in, saying, “I think everyone has a different type of risky. It may be risky for one person but comfortable for the next.”

    Paula Patton’s husband, Robin Thicke, hasn’t gotten nearly as much headline coverage as Miley Cyrus has in recent weeks following their scandalous performance of “Blurred Lines” at the MTV VMAs, but Patton spoke up about the infamous twerking incident and said she doesn’t really see what the big deal is.

    “I wasn’t surprised at all,” she said. “Honestly, they rehearsed for three days beforehand, and I don’t know how not to dance with someone having their booty in your . . . all my friends do it like that. And I don’t really know what the big deal is. I didn’t know if they thought Miley was going to sit down and play piano like Alicia Keys. Her song’s about taking molly!”

    The only thing more embarrassing than the thought of an 11-year-old girl twerking on some guy at a school dance is the embarrassment of having to stand on a street corner holding a twerk-shaming sign.

    In damn you Miley, look what you’ve done news, a woman forced her 11-year-old daughter to stand at an intersection holding a sign that said “I was disrespecting my parents by twerking at a school dance.”

    “That’s ridiculous…to even think that’s ok at a school dance,” said Frances Hena of Bakersfield, California. “And the school didn’t even call me and let me know that it was going on.”

    Apparently, Hena was notified of her daughter’s twerking by a friend.

    “I also want her to realize that she is just a child and she can’t do that – she just can’t. Every parenting is different. Um, I mean, what am I supposed to do? Whoop her and you know, get the cops called on me? I mean, I think this is embarrassing, I do. I’m embarrassed for having her twerk at a school dance.”

    Yeah, you probably shouldn’t “whoop” her. Maybe ground her? Give her a stern talking-to? Take away her internet privileges? I’m not sure about the whole standing on the street corner with a sign thing. I mean, she’s freaking eleven.
