  • Aziz Ansari Rags on Transformers Movies on Twitter

If you aren’t terribly excited about Transformers: Age of Extinction, then you aren’t alone as Parks and Recreation star Aziz Ansari is less than enthusiastic about the fourth Transformers flick as well. Maybe you’ve vented about Hollywood putting out yet another Transformers movie on your social media account, but it’s probably a safe bet that your mini rant didn’t quite garner the same reaction as Ansari’s comment on Twitter.

Just a little more than a week after Transformers: Age of Extinction took the box office by storm and had the best opening weekend of the year with $100 million in domestic ticket sales, Ansari got on his Twitter account and accused Transformers fans of making the world worse (when it comes to movies, that is).

Check out Aziz Ansari’s tweet on Transformers 4 below.

No surprise there, but quite a few folks found themselves in agreement with Ansari. After all, the box office this summer has been all about the sequel, which may be getting a little old for some people. (Seriously, how many X-Men and Spider-Man movies can they make?)

And while we saw more people supporting Aziz Ansari’s anti-Transformers post than not, there was a select group of people that didn’t quite see eye to eye with the funny man:

    Ouch.

In the meantime, when Aziz Ansari isn’t busy ruffling feathers by ragging on Transformers movies on Twitter, the comedian made an appearance on the latest episode of the Jerry Seinfeld web show Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, which you can check out here.

  • Transformers 4 Finally Gets A Title

The legendary Transformers movies have garnered many fans and spawned a collection of unique merchandise as well as a ride at Universal Studios Florida. Fans will be eager to hear about the revelation of the title for the fourth installment of the hit movies about Autobots, Decepticons, and potentially Dinobots. The title, “Age of Extinction” was recently released as a courtesy component of the official movie poster, and initially shared with Yahoo Movies.

Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura alluded to details about what fans can expect to see as part of the story line in Transformers 4: Age of Extinction. “I can not disclose the specifics, but you can be sure that the arrival of the Dinobots will give the audience a lot to be excited about. The world’s coolest, most exciting cars will appear in the film, including Chinese vehicles, so whether you are a car enthusiast or not, it will be a feast for the eyes,” he wrote via tformers.com.

The film’s currently scheduled release date is set for June 27, 2014. Shia LaBeouf’s dynamic and comical portrayal of Sam Witwicky will not be reprised in this film. In Shia LeBeouf’s place, Mark Wahlberg will serve as the film’s leading male protagonist. Other famous film stars signed on for this movie include: Stanley Tucci, Kelsey Grammer, Nicola Peltz, Sophia Myles, and T.J. Miller.

While there is some sadness that actors from the first films of this franchise are not returning, Michael Bay explained that this fourth film is going to set itself apart from the previous installments. “The story makes a very natural transition, and reason as to why we have a whole new cast. This Transformers will feel very different than the last three. We are embarking on a new trilogy,” he said.

  • Mark Wahlberg: Role In “Transformers 4” Official

Mark Wahlberg has proven through the years that one can shake a youthful image–such as a buff white rapper–and become a successful actor with several high-profile film credits under his name. Now it looks like he’s going to add a big-budget action flick to his resume, despite the director’s original denials.

Michael Bay, who worked with Wahlberg on the upcoming film “Pain And Gain”, wrote on his blog on Halloween that the rumors of the actor taking a part in the new “Transformers” movie were false, saying that the script was being developed and ideas were being thrown around, but nothing was definite. He did, however, hint that the rumors may have actually put Wahlberg in his mind during development.

I squashed a rumor that was on the internet last week. It was about Mark Walhberg. Mark was rumored to be staring in Transformers 4. We are working on another movie together, not T4. I had such a great time working with Mark on Pain and Gain, and he gave such a great performance – well let’s say that very internet chatter gave me some ideas. We are at the inception of our story process right now on T4. Let’s say some ideas are gaining traction with me and my writer – so I’m here to say thanks internet chatter.

Now, he’s released a statement confirming what the web seems to have already known.

“Mark is awesome,” Bay said. “We had a blast working on ‘Pain and Gain’ and I’m so fired up to be back working with him. An actor of his caliber is the perfect guy to re-invigorate the franchise and carry on the Transformers’ legacy.”

Fans will have a while to wait, though; the film doesn’t go into production until the spring, and a release date will be sometime in 2014–probably summer.
