  • Leighton Meester: ‘Gossip Girl’ Star and Husband Adam Brody Expecting Their First Baby

Leighton Meester, best known for her role as Blair Waldorf on Gossip Girl, is expecting her first baby. She and hubby Adam Brody are over the moon.

Us Weekly reports that Meester was spotted out and about in L.A., a couple of days ahead of their pregnancy announcement. Her baby bump was front and center, however, with absolutely no mistaking that she’s expecting.

It was Monday when the publication confirmed Leighton Meester and Adam Brody’s official news. The couple met back in 2011, on the set of The Oranges. They married in a secret ceremony–so secret that some of their former costars weren’t even invited–in February of 2014.

“I did not go to his wedding. I think they wanted to kind of keep it super low-profile, so I did not take umbrage,” The O.C.’s Ben McKenzie said in an interview at the time. “His wife is awesome. Leighton’s great.”

In addition to acting, Leighton Meester has quite the set of vocal cords. The actress has both written and recorded music in the past few years–even singing with Tony Bennett in an episode of Entourage. She made her Broadway debut in 2014 alongside James Franco, starring in Of Mice and Men.

In addition to the titles of actress, singer, and wife, Leighton Meester will soon be able to add ‘mother’ to her repertoire of talents.

Last August, Leighton Meester and Adam Brody joked about how many kids they planned to have.

I say twelve,” he quipped. “And I decide.”

Perhaps this pregnancy will wind up being just one of many for Leighton Meester?

  • Bruce Willis Turns 60, Celebrates With Keith Richards And Tony Bennett

Hollywood action star Bruce Willis rocked hard with a celebrity-studded 60th birthday party at the Harlow in New York City.

Talk about an action-packed way of marking a milestone! Willis danced all night long with his loving wife, Emma Heming-Willis and kids Scout and Tallulah.

E! News previously disclosed plans on Willis’ birthday bash and covered the details of the NYC party on Saturday. Sources say that it “was an amazing event in New York City.”

“It was a perfect celebration filled with old friends and family from Bruce Willis past and present. His wife and Bruce were really affectionate throughout the whole night. You can tell she gets along great with his kids. She was by his side all night and they danced throughout the evening,” the source added.

It seemed that the Harlow could have done with a red carpet as Willis’ guests turn up to celebrate the actor’s 60 wonderful years. The Rolling Stones’ Keith Richards, Tony Bennett and actress Patti Hensen were also present for the event.

“A few people could not show, like Bill Murray, Demi Moore and Rumer Willis, who really wanted to be there and show love for Bruce,” the insider continues.

The stars enjoyed stations of scrumptious Harlow hor d’oeuvres which included sirloin, pasta, crab croquette, Hamachi crudo, mac and cheese balls and vegetable skewers.

“Everyone had a ball dancing the night away. When the birthday cake came everyone sang happy birthday including Tony Bennett. It was a 60th birthday to remember!”

Emma and Willis were seen having a great time together all night. Emma posted photos of the event on her Instagram account saying, “It’s fair to say the birthday boy had a great time. #BWBirthdayBash.” The photo collage titled “Bee Dub’s 60th.”

Willis married Emma in 2009 and has two daughters with her.

  • Tallulah Willis and Sister Scout Laud Dad Bruce Willis at 60th Birthday Bash

Tallulah Willis and her sister Scout were just two of many people who attended a 60th birthday bash for their father, Bruce Willis, at Harlow in New York City this weekend. The Die Hard actor, along with his wife Emma Heming, were in the company of family members and friends, including Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones and singer Tony Bennett.

Scout and Tallulah Willis are the daughters of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore. Willis has three daughters with Moore. Scout Willis was in L.A. over the weekend, however, preparing for this week’s performances on Dancing With the Stars.

Even though Rumer couldn’t be there in person, she sent a sweet birthday message to Bruce Willis via Instagram. It was a throwback to his Moonlighting days with actress Cybill Shepherd.

“To the slickest guy I know, Happy 60th Papa. I love you so much. Thank you for teaching me how to be as fun, smart and goofy as you. I am so grateful to call you my dad,” she captioned the photo.

Tallulah Willis shared an extra dose of birthday love with her dad via Twitter. She posted a photo of herself with a much younger Bruce Willis, cuddling on the floor in their home.

Bruce Willis must feel incredibly blessed to be celebrating his 60th birthday, and to be loved by daughters Rumer, Scout, and Tallulah Willis. He also shares two girls with his wife Emma Heming. How wonderful that most of the family could be together to share this milestone with the Die Hard actor.

  • Bruce Willis Turns 60: Scout and Tallulah Willis, Wife Emma Heming, Keith Richards Attend Bash

Bruce Willis turned 60 last week, and his family and some very special guests all came together to celebrate his big day. Daughters (he has three with ex-wife Demi Moore and two with wife Emma Heming) Scout and Tallulah Willis were on hand, but Rumer Willis was busy rehearsing for this week’s competition on Dancing With the Stars. Of course wife Emma Heming was there as well, along with Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones. Singer Tony Bennett was on hand, too. If ever there was an eclectic mix of party guests, Bruce Willis takes the cake for gathering them at his birthday party.

The Die Hard star and his guests celebrated in New York City at Harlow, and Emma Heming shared several photos of the birthday fun.

Heming captioned this first shot, “It’s fair to say the birthday boy had a great time. #BWBirthdayBash,” as well as the collage title “Bee Dub’s 60th.”

Emma Heming captioned this next photo, “At least someone was taking pics. Thank you @jmtaekman #BWBirthdayBash.”

This shot proved that the romance is alive and well in Bruce Willis and Emma Heming’s marriage. After having two children together, it’s nice to see them celebrating and dancing.

And how about that guest list? Who but Bruce Willis could have people like Keith Richards and Tony Bennett attend his 60th birthday party?

It’s hard to believe–especially if you’re a Die Hard fan–that Bruce Willis is 60. He wears his age well, however, and will no doubt be entertaining fans for many years to come.

  • Lady Gaga Walks Down the Aisle at Best Friend’s Wedding

Lady Gaga took a walk down that proverbial aisle recently, but not to marry fiance Taylor Kinney. Instead she served as a bridesmaid at the wedding of a dear friend. The wedding took place in New Orleans and Lady Gaga remained tastefully understated so her appearance wouldn’t in any way upstage the bride.

The nuptials took place at the botanical gardens in the Big Easy, and Stefani Germanotta (Gaga’s real name) wore a flowing lilac gown with heels for the big day.

So when will Lady Gaga and Taylor Kinney take their own walk down the aisle? The two got engaged over Valentine’s weekend, but no word has yet escaped as to when they’ll wed.

Tony Bennett recently announced that he will be singing at the wedding when Lady Gaga and Taylor Kinney tie the knot.

“They invited me to do it and, of course I will,” he said during an interview with Page Six. “All I know is, knowing Lady Gaga, it will be fabulous. She’s marrying a very wonderful man, very talented and very handsome…He’s a very nice person. A nice guy who also just so happened to nail his proposal.”

On Friday afternoon, however, all Gaga was interested in was being there for her best friend. She shared her excitement via an Instagram post.

“Watching your best friend get married, these are the specialist times in my life. Seeing happiness in the lives of all my friends,” she captioned the following photo.

Fans are no doubt watching and waiting for any sign as to when Lady Gaga and the Chicago Fire hunk will get married. In the meantime it’s nice to see that Lady Gaga is enough of a dear friend to take a backseat to the fame she is so accustomed to garnering–at least for one day.

  • Lady Gaga And Tony Bennett Wow New York Students With Surprise Performance

More than 700 students from the Frank Sinatra School of the Arts were in for the thrill of their lives as superstars Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga ended their last day of classes with a surprise appearance.

Famous jazz crooner Bennett had been unable to attend the school’s graduation this year due to his tour schedule, so as its founder, he decided to make the last day memorable. With Lady Gaga as his guest and Lester Holt of NBC as moderator, they joined a master class held at the Tony Bennett Concert Hall wherein the two singers engaged in a meaningful dialogue with the students about a variety of subjects, such as the Great American Songbook and jazz music.

Shortly after entertaining the questions from the students, both entertainers then delighted the audience with a performance of a variety of songs. Bennett began with his classic “The Very Thought of You”, followed with Lady Gaga’s soulful rendition of “Every Time We Say Goodbye”. Lady Gaga even tweeted a YouTube video of the performance of Cole Porter’s “Every Time We Say Goodbye” much to the enjoyment of online viewers.

Among all the songs performed, the most memorable was their duet of “I Can’t Give You Anything but Love,” which was accompanied with a playful cheek-to-cheek slow dance onstage. Finally, as an expression of gratitude for the duo’s time and presence, the student choir wrapped up the event with a performance of Bennett’s “Smile” and Gaga’s “Applause”.

The two singers first met while performing at the Robin Hood Foundation benefit gala back in 2011, which was quickly followed by Lady Gaga joining Bennett in the “The Lady Is a Tramp” duet in his Duets II album later that year. As of the moment, both singers are working together to release a jazz album later this year.

  • Doris Day Plans 90th Birthday Bash

Doris Day is planning her 90th birthday bash, but the gifts people give will go to the animals she loves to serve. Animals have long been the actress and singer’s most cherished cause, and the Doris Day Animal Foundation will be the recipients of her birthday fundraising celebration.

A sold-out event celebrating Day’s 90th birthday will take place at Day’s Cypress Inn and will even include a doggie fashion show. There will be an adoption event held as well, and a tribute dinner will take place for fans and friends. Auction items at the event will include memorabilia autographed by Doris Day as well as some of her celebrity friends including Paul McCartney and Tony Bennett. Fans can bid on items both at the event and online. Online bidding ends on April 1st.

Doris Day issued a statement about her birthday bash, saying she doesn’t care all that much about birthday cards or birthday gifts, and that she much preferred the animals get the gifts instead.

“I’m all about the four-leggers,” she said.

Doris Day is known for her roles in more than three dozen films from the 1940s to the 1960s, including Calamity Jane and Pillow Talk. One of her best loved hit songs was Que Sera, Sera. She released the compilation album called My Heart in 2011.

Ever since Day left show business she has devoted all of her energy to helping animals in need. She has served to raise money as well as educate those about properly caring for their pets.

“There is so much work still to do to rescue animals, and to inform people about the importance of spaying and neutering their pets,” she said as part of her statement.

It’s hard to believe that Doris Day will soon be 90 years old. She graced the big screen and the music world for decades and now animals reap the benefit of her big heart.

Happy birthday wishes will no doubt arrive from all around the world on April 3rd.

  • Valentine’s Day Google Doodle In Japan Features Tony Bennett Ballad

In case you weren’t aware, we here in the United States are at the end of the quotidian cycle. North America is literally the last continent to say goodbye to a calendar day and we’re also last to greet the new days. This phenomenon is owed to the International Date Line, which demarcates where calendar days start and end. The existence of the International Date Line is also one of the reasons why I suspect that Japan is called “Land of the Rising Sun” – because, according to the International Date Line, they’re one of the first countries to get to sample the new day.

    Makes sense, right? Good.

So while tomorrow may be Valentine’s Day for those of us in the West, it’s already Valentine’s Day in Japan. Reinforcing the global significance of Valentine’s Day, Google has given their Japanese page the Google Doodle treatment today with a special animated doodle commemorating the holiday. Upon clicking the Doodle, Tony Bennett’s “Cold, Cold Heart” begins playing over an animation depicting a lovesick lad trying his best to woo a lady with roses and heart boxes of chocolate (among other gifts). Users can click through the animation in order to find news and search results for Valentine’s Day (those results will automatically appear after the animation is over).

What struck me most about this Doodle is the end, which presents a collage of different types of couples. Among them are a milk carton and a cookie, a cat and a dog, and a princess with a frog. Included with these pairs, though, are two depictions of same sex couples: one with two women, and another with two men. Google’s decision to include the two same sex couples with other pairs that are more comical or even fictional (an astronaut with a space alien?) is confusing. Should same sex couples ignore this uncomfortable juxtaposition given that they were even acknowledged at all? I’m not so sure gays and lesbians will take so kindly to their already-marginalized sexuality being regarded as seriously as space alien couplings or cat-and-dog couplings. You can see the two couples in the bottom row of the image below.

It remains to be seen if Google will roll out different Valentine’s Day-inspired Doodles (with different ballads, even?) for different regions of the world, of if this will be the worldwide Doodle for the holiday. Guess we’ll see tomorrow, hm?
