Missy Elliott shared word with her fans that she and Pharrell Williams have been working together in a recording studio. This is another hint leading many to think that a new Missy Elliott album is in the works.
The first of these hints came when Elliott made a surprise appearance during Pharrell Williams’s set at the BET Awards back in June.
The last solo album Missy Elliott released was back in 2005. Called “The Cookbook,” it featured hit tracks including “Lose Control,” “Teary Eyed,” and “We Run This.” Fans have long-awaited a new solo album, and her tweet about working in the studio with The Voice coach has likely raised their hopes.
Rumors are running rampant about Missy Elliott reuniting with Timbaland, too, further fueling that new album fire. The two were creative partners for many years.
When you put all of this together, combined with Missy Elliott appearing as Katy Perry’s special guest at the Super Bowl this year, everything points to a strong presence for Elliott. And as everyone knows, a strong presence goes a long way when selling albums.
Do you think Missy Elliott in the recording studio with Pharrell is an indication of a new album in the works? It seems fans will simply have to wait a while and see.
“I don’t just throw out microwave records,” said 42-year-old female rapper Missy “Misdemeanor” Elliott in a recent interview.
As one of the leading ladies of Hip Hop during the late 90s to the early 2000s, Elliott has won five Grammy awards and sold over 30 million records in the United States. She has also co-produced with good friend and producer Timbaland on projects for the 90s group SWV and the late singer Aaliyah.
Surely some of her greatest hits had you wanting to “Get Your Freak On” or had some feeling “Supa Dupa Fly,” but after a lengthy break it may be time for Elliott to remind us what makes her one of the most creative female MCs.
It wasn’t until 2012 that “Misdemeanor” fans became excited about her return to the rap game. At the time, Elliott and Timbaland debuted two tracks, “9th Inning” and “Triple Threat,” from her Block Party album. However, no official release date was ever established.
So, why has the innovative songwriter been in hiding lately?
During a one-on-one talk with Michael Yo on Yahoo!’s “The Yo Show,” the “Work It” MC revealed why she hasn’t released any albums in nine years; one being because of the drastic change in music today.
“Not to say that it’s bad, it’s just different now, so I’m just trying to make sure that what I give is 100 percent because I know that expectations is high from my fans and it’s high of myself,” she said.
In 2011, People reported that the reason behind Elliott’s disappearance was her “private battle with Graves’ Disease, an autoimmune illness that affects the thyroid.”
However, she announced the same year that she was ready to get back to work following extensive radiation treatment.
Elliott is currently still hard at work helping other artists put together upcoming records.
One of her latest collaborations with long-time friend Faith Evans will be heard on the singer’s 8th solo album Incomparable, which is rumored to hit the music world later this year.
As far as her own work, Elliott confirms that she is not putting out any tunes until she feels her sound is top-notch.
“When I create something, it’s got to be special and it can’t just be to throw something out there because I feel like I’m Missy.”

Well, hopefully she’ll return soon and put her thing down, flip it and reverse it.
In the world of fame and fortune, it happens way too often. Now, record production phenom and rapper, Timbaland, has become the newest candidate for it – divorce.
According to TMZ, the legendary “20/20 Experience” producer’s wife, Monique Mosley, has reportedly taken the preliminary steps to begin divorce proceedings. Monique Mosley, has been married to the “Shock Value” rapper for five years. However, they have actually been together for double that amount of time. They have two children together: a 5-year-old daughter, Reign, and her 10-year-old child whom Timbaland has publicly claimed and ‘raised as his own.’

The legal documents have also stated her monetary demands for the dissolution of the marriage. She is requesting child support for both children, along with permanent alimony, and life insurance. In addition to those predominant demands, she is also seeking compensation for private schooling, summer camps, vacations for the children, and other expenses relative to the welfare of the children.
But, here’s the kicker, she’s also seeking a one-time lump sum payment for “rehabilitative alimony.” For those who aren’t familiar with what that is, she basically wants monetary compensation while the divorce proceedings are pending. This isn’t even including her potential compensation for permanent alimony.

If divorce proceedings rule in the favor of Timbaland’s soon-to-be-ex-wife, he could definitely end up shelling out quite a lot. Timbaland has garnered more than approximately 100 millions record sales which equates to a net worth of approximately $80 million over his 25-year tenure in the music industry.
Timbaland also inked an exclusive production deal with Roc Nation at the top of the year. While the specifications and monetary details of the contract have not been disclosed, one can only assume that the “Ayo Technology” producer banked off of this dea,l as well.

Over the past 25 years, Timbaland has probably worked with nearly everyone of prominence in the music industry. He’s collaborated with notable artists such as Aaliyah, Jay-Z, Beyonce, Missy Elliot, Ginuwine, Justin Timberlake, Nelly Furtado, Ludacris, Limp Bizkit, LL Cool J, 50 Cent, Lloyd Banks, Busta Rhymes, Fabolous, Usher, Keri Hilson, Jodeci, Xscape, Nas, Da Brat, Bubba Sparxxx, etc. Let’s just stop there! With Timbaland, the list can go on and on for days.
Name a hit between the years of 1997 and 2010, Timbaland probably had a hand in it. In a nutshell, his divorce will definitely be a lengthy one unless a hefty settlement is reached.
What can one say? While everyone is sure the reasons for the divorce are more than what meets the eye, Timbaland may have subconsciously fueled her fire with his own hits. She’s definitely thinking, “We Need a Resolution.” But, on another scorned note, she could simply say to hell with all, just “Cry Me a River.” Obviously, she’s an “IceBox” these days, and it’s not going away. The records denote the perfect sentiments.

Monique Mosley, wife of star music producer Timbaland, has filed for divorce after five years of marriage. She’s seeking child support for the daughter she had with Timbaland, as well as for another child from a previous relationship.
The child support for Reign, 5, is pretty standard, but Mosley contends that additional support for an unnamed ten-year-old is warranted, as Timbaland “publicly and privately proclaimed this child as his own.”
Timbaland, who is said to be worth roughly $80 million, has also been asked to cover life insurance, vacations, private schools and summer camps. Mosley also wants some cash to cover legal bills, as she had to borrow money from a friend, just to file for divorce. Mosley has also requested her alimony to be delivered in a lump sum at the beginning of divorce proceedings, as well as some rehabilitative alimony for a short while, as she adjusts to her single income household.
Timothy Zachery Mosley, born March 10, 1972, is best known as a record producer and songwriter. He’s worked with the likes of Aaliyah, Missy Elliot, Justin Timberlake, “Drake”, Jay-Z, Nas, LL Cool J, Björk, Kanye West, Usher, Lil’ Wayne, Nelly Furtado and Ricky Martin, to name a few.
