  • Nicole Scherzinger and Harry Styles Reportedly Hooked Up When One Direction Member Was 19

Nicole Scherzinger and Harry Styles first met when she was a judge on The X-Factor. That was pre-One Direction, when Harry was just 16 years old. Now fast-forward about three years to a time when Nicole Scherzinger and Harry Styles hooked up.

Yes, you read that correctly. When Nicole Scherzinger and Harry Styles next met, he was 19 to her 35 years, but that didn’t stop them from having some fun just the same.

“Harry was obviously very taken by Nicole, who is stunning, and he had always looked up to her,” a source tells The Sun. “She was a guest judge on X Factor at the time One Direction were formed, and has always claimed credit for putting the band together, even though Simon Cowell says it was his idea. But they hooked up over three years later when Harry had matured and was a member of the world’s biggest ban. Harry was 19 at the time but had an old head on his shoulders because he’d already been in a relationship with Caroline Flack who was 14 years older than him.”

It was at an after party for the Brits Awards in February 2014 that the hookup took place.

“They were openly all over each other at Sony’s post-Brits event,” the source adds. “They were sitting next to each other, having lots to drink and wildly flirting. It was very clear there was an electric chemistry between them and something had gone on.”

Nicole Scherzinger recently broke things off with Lewis Hamilton again. Do you think she has any thoughts about getting things on with Harry Styles again? Or was that simply a one-night stand for the former Pussycat Dolls member?

Nicole Scherzinger and Harry Styles would definitely make a great-looking couple. Would their fans move past the May-December thing they had going? Or would that simply be too much for them to handle?

What are your thoughts about Harry Styles and Nicole Scherzinger?

    Hot or not?

  • Leona Lewis, Taylor Swift: “Bleeding Love” Duet Wows Concert Fans

Leona Lewis’s biggest hit to date is “Bleeding Love,” and fans still swoon when she performs it even eight years after its debut.

This weekend, fans of both Leona Lewis and Taylor Swift were treated to a mind-blowing version of the song when Swift brought Lewis out onto her stage during her concert in Nashville.

It was Saturday night during one of Swift’s “1989” concert dates that she introduced the British singer who feared she’d never get signed again when she left Simon Cowell’s record label.

A video posted by Taylor Swift (@taylorswift) on

“It was very hard and very nerve-racking because I didn’t know what I’d be walking into once I left Simon. I had no idea,” Lewis said. “I needed to kind of create my own path, and I went out and created the album based on … the strength that it took to walk away from different situations.”

The recent release of her new single, “I Am” proves Leona Lewis needn’t have worried.

She insists, however, that there is no bad blood between her and Cowell, who he signed after she won the British version of “The X-Factor” back in 2007.

“Simon has been so amazing and instrumental in my career, but it was just time for me to move on and time for me to do something different, and I wanted to seek out a different label that had kind of a different energy,” she said.

“Amazing” doesn’t begin to describe how incredible Leona Lewis and Taylor Swift sounded during their performance of “Bleeding Love” this weekend, however. Hopefully that was just a taste of what fans can expect from the singer in the months to come.

  • Paula Abdul, Jason Derulo Sign on to ‘So You Think You Can Dance’

Paula Abdul and Jason Derulo are coming on board as judges for the upcoming 12th season of So You Think You Can Dance. Fox confirmed the pair this week. Abdul and Derulo will join veteran judge Nigel Lythgoe. Longtime judge Mary Murphy isn’t returning to the show.

Jason Derulo, who is 25, has served as a guest judge, performed on past episodes of the show, and has lent his music to many routines on So You Think You Can Dance in previous seasons. He excited to become a part of the permanent judging panel.

“[SYTYCD] is one of the most respected and longest-tenured shows on network television, and I hope to be a part of new growth and continued success,” the “Wiggle” singer told Us Weekly.

Paula Abdul tweeted her excitement about joining the show.

Paula Abdul is no stranger to the Fox network, having appeared as a judge on American Idol from 2002 to 2009, and on The X Factor for one season in 2011.

Season 12, which will appear on Fox this summer, begins auditions at the end of January. This season will differ from past seasons, with street dancers competing against classically trained dancers in an effort to determine America’s Favorite Dancer. This is right up Paula Abdul and Jason Derulo’s alley. Abdul, of course, is a former choreographer. Derulo is known for some amazing moves during his concert performances.

What do you think of Paula Abdul and Jason Derulo serving as judges on So You Think You Can Dance? Will they be a good fit with Nigel Lythgoe?

  • Nicole Scherzinger: Returning As a Judge on ‘The X-Factor’?

Nicole Scherzinger may return to the X-Factor.

The British public grew fond of Scherzinger during her 2012 and 2013 judging stint on The X-Factor. Two of her contestants even made it to the finals in 2012. In 2014, Scherzinger left the series to devote her energy to completing and promoting her second solo album, Big Fat Liar.

Recently she returned to the X-Factor stage to sing “Run.” The performance had a few technical difficulties, but once again won her praise from the audience. Big Fat Liar made its UK debut in October. The album is set for an early 2015 release in the US. Besides promoting Big Fat Liar, Scherzinger will appear in Cats on the West End from December to February.

Her personal life seems just as active as her professional one. The “Run” singer got emotional yesterday while watching her long-time boyfriend, Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton, win the world championship in Abu Dhabi. Photographers captured Scherzinger excitedly kissing his helmet after the victory.

Hamilton was also congratulated by Prince Harry, who said, “Lewis thank you very, very much for not making the British public sweat…You are an absolute legend. Well done mate.”

Looks like Scherzinger will be very busy in 2015, and Simon Cowell hopes to make her busier.

Mirror reports that Cowell wants to leave the UK version of X-Factor to relaunch the American one. The US version of the singing competition got canceled in February due to low ratings. Mirror spoke to a source for more details on the possible reunion of Fox and Cowell. According to Mirror, “Staff have put together a proposal, which has been very well recieved.” The source also said that everyone wants to make a relaunching of X-Factor work.

If Cowell returns to X-Factor in the US, he needs a replacement for the UK version. Scherzinger is a top choice as a replacement. “Nicole is among his first choices. He is a huge fan and would have loved to have had her back on the UK show this series but it just wasn’t possible with Cheryl returning,” revealed Mirror.

  • Simone Battle, ‘X-Factor’ Finalist and GRL Singer, Dies of Apparent Suicide at 25

Pop singer Simone Battle of the girl group G.R.L. has died, the victim of an apparent suicide.

According to the Los Angeles coroners office, the 25-year-old The X-Factor finalist was found dead at her West Hollywood home by her boyfriend Friday morning.

The singer’s father, Anthony Battle, reportedly told TMZ that he was unaware his daughter was battling depression, but said it was “possible she may have had an invisible disability”.

Battle’s record company and management team confirmed the singer’s death in a joint statement released on Saturday.

“We are deeply saddened by the tragic news of the loss of Simone Battle of G.R.L.,” said the statement from Reign Deer Entertainment, Kemosabe Records, RCA Records and Pussycat Dolls founder Robin Antin.

“Simone was an exceptional young talent and human being and we are all devastated to learn of her passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and loved ones at this time.”

G.R.L. band members took to social media to express their heartbreak over the news of their friend and colleague.

Battle came into the spotlight as a contestant on The X-Factor in 2011. She was a finalist on the show, making it into the top 17 before being eliminated by her mentor on the show, Simon Cowell.

  • Simon Cowell Shares Pics Of His Baby Boy

Simon Cowell and his girlfriend Lauren Silverman received the ultimate Valentine’s Day gift this year.

On February 14, 2014, the couple welcomed their first child, a son, Eric, whose full name is Eric Selig Phillip Cowell, after Simon’s father who passed away in 1999. “I look at him, Eric, and I think of my Dad all the time, so it’s a really good thing,” Simon said, during an interview with Extra.

Simon shared the news of his son’s birth, via Twitter, and later added several photos of his new pride and joy. Now, nearly three months later, Simon is, once again, sharing photos of his little man.

Simon first informed his followers that Eric was happy and healthy, and then he proceeded to share a series of three pictures. The first shows Eric laying in Lauren’s lap wearing a striped onesie and covered in a blanket.

The second picture shows little Eric holding himself up, leaning against the back of the couch. There is no denying that Eric resembles his father, and it appears that Simon thinks so too. He captioned the photo by saying: “Very handsome like his dad.”

The third, and final, picture showed Lauren holding Eric, with them staring into each other’s eyes. Simon simply captioned this photo by saying: “Mum and Eric.”

Many people were skeptical about how Simon would handle the responsibilities of fatherhood; however, Simon said he was born to be a father. “I held him within five minutes of him being born,” Simon said. “I actually said to Lauren beforehand, ‘What if I like the dogs more than him?’ And she said, ‘You’re gonna be absolutely fine.’ And then literally within seconds of him being born, I got it!” He added: “I was born to be a dad!”

  • Simon Cowell Receives Apology for “Talent” Tackling

Simon Cowell has been enjoying a respite from attacks on his person since literally getting egged by Natalie Holt in 2013.

Sure, 2014 has not been off to a wholly terrific start for the famously critical judge. Fox canceled his show The X Factor in February. He also started seeing his close friend’s wife, Lauren Silverman, sparking a scandal.

On the bright side, Silverman and Cowell welcomed Cowell’s first child, Eric, into the world this past Valentine’s day. Things were looking up.

That is, until fellow Britain’s Got Talent judge David Walliams tackled and wrestled him during an audition.

According to Mirror Online, a duo named Que Sera was singing “Love Changes Everything.” Cowell attempted to stop the performance, saying “Oh, I hate this song.” He held up his hand to stop the performers, but Walliams said he and the other judges wanted to see the performance.

To quash Cowell’s resistance, Walliams “playfully” wrestled Cowell to the ground.

Cowell was not amused. He reportedly said “I’m a serious music mogul, people can’t see me wrestling on TV.”

“Simon is quite a serious person and he doesn’t want me dragging him down to my level,” Walliams said of Cowell.

Britain’s Got Talent is currently in its eighth season. It premiered Saturday on ITV. Happily for both Cowell and Walliams, 11.1 million viewers tuned in, the most ever for a launch episode in the series’ history. So, hopefully Cowell and Walliams can co-exist peacefully for the next two years of the show’s recently renewed contract.

  • Nicole Scherzinger Engaged To Longtime Boyfriend

Nicole Scherzinger, the gorgeous brunette and former lead singer of the Pussycat Dolls, is engaged to her longtime beau Lewis Hamilton.

Hamilton is a British race car driver and the two have been on and off for quite some time. Reportedly, Scherzinger said no to three of Hamilton’s marriage proposals, but apparently the fourth time was the charm.

Currently, Scherzinger is in between jobs at the moment, as she was just replaced as one of the judges on Britain’s singing competition The X Factor, but finances shouldn’t be a problem for her at all, since her future hubby is far from being broke.

“Lewis will be the main breadwinner when Nicole is not working, and she will always have access to his private jet if she needs to travel,” said an inside source for The Mirror.

And the nuptials will most likely take place before the close of 2014, says the source.

“It is the ideal plan for both of them and will hopefully lead to a big summer wedding in August when Lewis has a three week break from his F1 schedule.”

In past interviews Scherzinger admitted to having self-esteem issues and said she had problems feeling comfortable in her own skin or appreciating her body, but Hamilton helped to change all of that and really made her feel beautiful.

“Being in our relationship gave me the courage to kind of end that disorder and that disease,” she said, referring to her lack of self-esteem. “He made me feel beautiful for who I am and not what pant size I’m wearing and that helped a lot.”

But it wasn’t just Hamilton that made the 35 year old feel better about herself. Scherzinger had an epiphany of some sort and said she took control of her emotions and made every effort to appreciate her body and the way she looks.

“A little light came on in the back of my head, and that’s when I started to try and turn this around,” she explained. “I said ‘Wow, I’ve got to learn how to accept myself and my body.’ I started to embrace myself as a woman and my curves.”

  • Cheryl Cole Considering ‘X Factor’ Return?

Cheryl Cole Considering ‘X Factor’ Return?

Ex-Girls Aloud songstress and former X Factor judge Cheryl Cole may be returning to the popular reality television show even though fans thought that this day would never come again. The show is in need of another judge as Nicole Scherzinger recently announced her plans to exit the well-known show. Reports claim that earlier this month Cole flew to London from Los Angeles in order to meet with Simon Cowell and discuss the potential return.

According to a source who spoke with the Mirror, the reunion seems like a certainty at this point. “Her return is now 99 percent concluded. The meeting was a case of tying up some loose ends and things went really well. Now, Simon and show producers are just waiting on Cheryl’s confirmation. Everyone is really excited about the idea of having her back on the show. Cheryl is serious about rebuilding a relationship with the show. She wouldn’t travel across the Atlantic for the hell of it. She was very keen to hear what Simon’s vision is for the new series.”

Simon Cowell recently alluded to Cole’s potential X Factor return when he made a stop at London’s Hammersmith Apollo in order to catch the auditions for Britain’s Got Talent. “I am hopeful we can do something. She still has a poker face at the moment but we both need each other. Cheryl needs the show and we need her. She would be crazy to turn it down,” he said.

Any rumors of lingering animosity between Cole and Cowell are just that — rumors. Cole recently shared her philosophy about holding grudges and living in the past.

  • Simon Cowell: It’s A Boy for the ‘X-Factor’ Mogul

Simon Cowell is now the proud father of a baby boy–and he’s not a “Simon, Jr.” as some reports had previously stated. Eric Cowell was born on Valentine’s Day at 5:45 P.M. in New York City. He weighed in at a healthy 6 pounds and 7 ounces. He is named after Simon Cowell’s father.

“Lauren is doing great. Her parents are there, along with Simon of course,” PEOPLE magazine reports. “They are so excited. Everyone is thrilled. They couldn’t be happier. The baby is gorgeous.”

Fans were shocked to learn back in July that Simon Cowell and one of his best friend’s wives–Lauren Silverman–were expecting a baby together. Lauren and Andrew Silverman finalized their divorce this past December. They have an 8-year-old son.

“It was kind of uncomfortable. You know, the situation. But these things happen and everything is kind of calm now and I’m happy,” Simon Cowell told Ellen DeGeneres shortly after the news became public knowledge.

Even though Cowell knew Silverman was pregnant, he claims he first realized he was going to actually become a father when he first viewed his son on an ultrasound scan.

“You literally see this thing which is now alive moving around. I feel very paternal right now,” he said following the ultrasound.

SImon Cowell admits he has had to make lots of changes in his home in preparation for his son’s arrival.

“There are a lot of boring things that happen when you have a baby. [You have to get rid of] sharp edges, cigarettes, alcohol … then there’s [baby-proofing] the toilet. But I’ll have a smoking room!” he joked, right around the same time Lauren Silverman was being showered with baby gifts by friends and family members.

Simon was one very excited father when announcing the news of his son’s birth.

He was also quick to thank friends and family members–and likely some fans, too–for their congratulations and well wishes, and to say that the mother of his child is doing well.

And following the announcement of his and Lauren Silverman’s choice of a name for their son, Simon Cowell tweeted the following.

So far it seems like fatherhood is treating Simon Cowell well. It will certainly be interesting to see in the coming weeks and months how the former American Idol judge and current X-Factor U.K. judge takes his new role.

  • The X Factor Canceled-What Will Simon Cowell Do Next?

In not-so shocking news, Fox has decided to cancel The X Factor. Simon Cowell, one of the series’ judges and the show’s creator, announced his plans to return to the original U.K. version. Soon after, Fox announced its cancelation.

The third season of X Factor scored the network low ratings, especially compared to its competition: The Voice. Due to the ratings-and negative buzz-many people worried about the future of the show, but Cowell seemed optimistic about X Factor’s renewal. The series gained some momentum towards the end of the season because of standout performers and winners Alex and Sierra, but that wasn’t enough to save The X-Factor.

Cowell’s last appearance on the U.K. version of X Factor was in 2010, the same year boy band One Direction formed. In October of last year, Gary Barlow-who originally replaced Cowell-revealed that he would leave the show after The X Factor’s 2013, 10th season. Rumors began to surface of Cowell’s return after Barlow’s departure news.

In Cowell’s official exit statement, he said, “I’ve had a fantastic time over the last 12 years, both on The X Factor and American Idol. And apart from being lucky enough to find some amazing talent on the shows, I have always had an incredible welcome from the American public (most of the time!). Last year, for a number of reasons, I had to make a decision to return to the U.K. version of The X Factor in 2014. So for now, I’m back to the U.K. and I want to thank Fox for being an incredible partner and I also want to thank everybody who has supported my shows. America, I’ll see you soon!”

America won’t completely miss his presence, he’s still a producer on America’s Got Talent, but this may be the end of Cowell’s judging duties on American television for a while.

Cowell said his official goodbye to the States on Twitter.

  • Simon Cowell to Serve As Judge for UK ‘X Factor’

Simon Cowell has one less thing to do now that The X Factor is done and over with in the United States. The music mogul will remain busy despite the big hit to his pride and his pocketbook. He will serve as one of the judges on the U.K. version of The X Factor.

Despite the addition of coaches like Britney Spears and Demi Lovato, The X Factor simply couldn’t get enough viewers in the U.S. to keep the show on the air. This, in some ways, works well for Simon Cowell, as he has wanted to return to the U.K. show for some time now.

“The UK show needs him this year especially after losing out to Strictly last year,” a TV source said of the show losing out in the ratings to the BBC s’ Strictly Come Dancing. “Simon is incredibly competitive and this show is Simon’s baby. There’s a certain magic for Simon on this show because this is where it all started for him – so it was always going to be his priority.”

Despite Cowell’s often emotionless demeanor, he did express a taste of the bittersweet in a tweet he shared with his followers this week.

Do you suppose Simon’s baby mama, Lauren Silverman, will join him in the U.K. or will she–and Simon’s baby–continue to live stateside instead? And who else will sit at the judge’s table with the curmudgeonly Brit? Lots of questions remain unanswered right now.

“The other three seats are a long way from being decided so far. But everyone knows Simon attracts a higher calibre of singers to audition. Contestants have seen what he has done for Leona Lewis and One Direction as well as artists like Olly Murs and Cher Lloyd. They know he can spot real star potential,” the source adds.

Simon Cowell is due to become a dad on February 28th. His baby–a son–will reportedly be named Simon, Jr. How do you suppose fatherhood will figure in with returning as a judge on The X Factor in the U.K.?

Cowell will certainly be an interesting man to watch throughout the next few months, with all these new twists and turns in his life. How do you suppose he will handle them all?

  • Selena Gomez Talks Justin Bieber, Demi Lovato Split

Selena Gomez reacted to Justin Bieber’s arrest earlier today by saying she hopes the singer gets the help he so desperately needs. Shying away from making any additional comments, it was easy to see that the situation made her uncomfortable.

In other news about the Come & Get It singer, it seems Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato did in fact experience a falling out and split from being BFFs for a while. Selena finally acknowledged this publicly in a recent interview with Seventeen magazine. The problems leading to the break down of their friendship took place around 2010, but Gomez assures everyone that the two are closer than they’ve ever been now.

Selena shares details about the situation in the magazine’s March issue, and Seventeen shares Selena Gomez’s picture on its cover.

“I’ve known her since we were seven—and we did fall apart for a while,” Selena says of Demi Lovato. “She was going through things and I was so young and it was confusing—I processed it saying, ‘OK, I don’t understand what she’s going through so I’m just going to do this.’ And I don’t think it was fair, and I’m so happy that I have her back in my life now. I feel like we’re all given what we can handle, and clearly someone thought she could handle so much—and she could, and she did. And she’s incredible for that. I couldn’t imagine going through some of the things that she went through, and the fact that she is who she is today is insane—she’s one of my inspirations.”

Selena Gomez was spotted out buying cigarettes in California on the same day Justin Bieber was arrested for DUI in Miami. Regardless of the status of her relationship with Bieber she wants only the best for him and certainly doesn’t want to see him in situations that can potentially cause him harm.

Fortunately she has Demi Lovato to rely on should she need to talk about the situation. Since the two girls are thick as thieves once again, they can bounce their thoughts and feeling off one another. Following Justin’s situation in Miami, it’s quite likely Selena Gomez will need her BFF.

  • Simon Cowell: Is He Daddy Material?

Simon Cowell: Is He Daddy Material?

Simon Cowell will soon be jumping head-on into fatherhood, and some people might be wondering if the X Factor judge has what it takes to make a good dad. While enjoying a babymoon in Barbados with pregnant girlfriend Lauren Silverman, Simon was spotted chatting it up with an adorable baby boy, who somehow managed to get the stone faced Brit to smile.

Lauren Silverman is due to give birth to her and Simon Cowell’s baby within the next few weeks, and her large baby bump does absolutely nothing to hide that fact. Although she had it draped in a modest swimsuit cover-up, it was plain to see she’ll soon deliver. Silverman celebrated her baby shower earlier in December at Simon Cowell’s home back in L.A. Two of Cowell’s exes–Terri Seymour and Mezhgan Hussainy–were both in attendance.

The couple is expecting a baby boy, and shower guests arrived laden with all sorts of clothing, stuffed animals, books and baby gear and toys.

So what will Simon and Lauren name their little bundle of joy?

“I’m not going to say what it is yet, but I’m happy,” he told E! back in November. “You’ll have to wait and see!”

Fans will no doubt be watching and eagerly awaiting the announcement that Simon Cowell and Lauren Silverman’s baby has arrived. It will definitely be interesting to see what kind of father the TV producer is. Hopefully his interaction with that baby on the beach is a strong sign of what’s to come.

  • Demi Lovato Is Leaving “The X-Factor”

Demi Lovato is reportedly leaving her judging gig on “The X-Factor” to focus on her singing career.

“She plans to spend next year completely focused on her music,” said a source. “She had a great run and a good time.”

The 21-year old singer and actress will have a busy year in 2014, as she’ll kick off a big arena tour in February. She has said she plans to take the month of January off, however, and get some things done that she hasn’t had time for.

“I will take the month of January completely off!” she said. “I want to vacation! I want to watch crime shows on my DVR on my couch … I need to do some exercising and I don’t really have time to do it. I love horseback riding and never get to do that stuff, but January is my time to do all of that.”

She has talked about taking on more acting roles, however.

“I think ultimately my main thing is singing,” she said. “Maybe movies once in a while, if the right role comes along.”

As for “The X-Factor”, there have been rumblings that it won’t even be renewed for another season after a huge ratings dip in 2013 as it competed with several similar shows. However, executive producer Simon Cowell says that’s just not the case.

“The show will be back next season,” he said. “[It’s] got to be more different next year than it was this year. (I’m in) the middle of a presentation of what we think the show should look like and what the fans would like. And yes, my role could change.”

  • Nicole Scherzinger: Pussycat Doll Stuns in Strapless Velvet Dress at London Awards

“SINGER, Songwriter, AcTrEss, DaNcer. Hardworking & PASSIONATE for The Arts! Lover of food, family & music! GOD, Gratitude, Grace,” this is how Nicole Scherzinger describes herself to her 4-million fans on twitter.

And to these epithets we should add sexy and classy, as the talented sweetheart hit the red carpets in a stunning strapless black velvet dress on Monday evening in London. Scherzinger appeared all by herself in the form-fitting floor length gown as she attended the Pride of Britain Awards gala at Grosvenor House hotel. The only words one can think of as she stepped out were ethereal, sublime, and passionately warm.

As the cameras and lights were transfixed on Nicole’s radiating smile, she turned around and provocatively caressed her hips to accentuate her curves for the eager eyes. Right before the event she tweeted a more candid picture with her slender hands elegantly pointing towards the heaven.

The petite, 35 year old dusky angel looked sensational in her long brown hair as her gown’s thigh high slit presented her shapely legs for all to see.

Meanwhile, Scherzinger is being her creative self as usual, by joining her vocal talent with that of star violinist David Garrett on his new album. Nicole’s rich, heart warming voice is in perfect harmony with Garrett’s virtuosic violin.

“I heard Nicole Scherzinger sing Music of the Night by Andrew Lloyd Webber at the Royal Variety Show in Manchester, in 2011. When it came to picking a candidate to sing ‘Io ti penso’, I immediately thought of her. She has such a versatile voice, ranging from pop to musicals to classical. For me it was important to find a singer who can sing both the lower and the upper register. Even with great singers, it’s not always the case,”

    exclaimed Garrett.

The music will be featured in the upcoming film, The Devil’s Violinist, with the release date set on October 31. The film also marks Garrett’s acting debut, where he stars as the Italian virtuoso violinist Paganini.

So will the current X Factor judge and island diva share her love and warmth with Garrett leading to holy matrimony and beautiful children? We can only guess. But while her ex-lover Lewis Hamilton is chasing his next Formula-1 title, Scherzinger can certainly create some memorable albums with Garrett and his violin by her side.

  • Sharon Osbourne Rejoins ‘X Factor’ as Judge

Sharon Osbourne Rejoins ‘X Factor’ as Judge

Sharon Osbourne has had a tough year. In April, her husband, Ozzy, revealed that he had relapsed on drugs and alcohol for the past year and a half. The couple had split at the time, though it appears the two may have made up recently.

Whatever her personal troubles, it seems that Sharon Osbourne’s career is still going strong. U.K. TV network ITV today announced that she will be returning as a judge on the U.K. version of the hit karaoke competition show The X Factor. Osbourne was a judge on the show’s first four seasons. Osbourne will be joined on the judge’s panel by singers Gary Barlow and Nicole Scherzinger, as well as talent manager Louis Walsh.

“I couldn’t be happier about coming back for the 10th anniversary of X factor,” said Osbourne. “I can’t wait to give Gary Barlow a big hug, sit next to the gorgeous Nicole, and of course throw water on dear Louis. Yay!”

This coming season will be the 10th season of X Factor. The show was created by pop TV producer and former American Idol judge Simon Cowell in 2004.

“Three words I never thought I’d say…. Welcome back Sharon!” said Cowell.

  • Britney Spears: Is Christina Aguilera Making Her Nervous?

Britney Spears is set to judge the talent show “The X Factor” this fall, but if her behavior of late is any indication, she seems to be a nervous wreck. Could it be because she’ll be going up against her old rival Christina Aguilera?

Spears has made some headway in the past couple of years in her fight towards a comeback; after a much-maligned MTV performance following her breakdown–which had critics calling her fat and drugged–she managed to get in shape and put out a new album that garnered good reviews. However, now that she’s in the spotlight again, she seems to be a bundle of nerves. Those on the set of a shoot for her new perfume–Elizabeth Arden Fantasy Twist–say she was constantly smoking in between takes and appeared “out of it” and “robotic”.

As the date draws nearer for Britney to sit at the judge’s table on “The X Factor”, it’s possible she’s getting antsy about being in such a high-profile gig, and it probably isn’t helping that her old rival, Christina Aguilera, is judging on a similar show opposite her. Aguilera has been on “The Voice” for a while now, so she’s an old pro; it could be that Britney feels like she jumped into a job she’s not entirely ready for.

Aguilera had some kind words for her old Mickey Mouse Club buddy, however:

“I came up with Britney, we were very close,” Aguilera said. “Our paths have always crossed. They’ll continue to cross. I welcome her to this family of fun and entertainment and finding new talent. Britney’s a pro. She’s going to give great advice.”

The new season of “The X Factor” starts September 12th on Fox.

  • Britney and Demi Join Forces for The X Factor

Britney and Demi are officially confirmed as judges for the upcoming season of media mogul Simon Cowell’s talent competition “The X Factor USA”. Britney Spears recently signed a $15 million deal with the network for one season, while Demi Lovato will snag a little over a million for participating in the gig. All of the months of speculation finally came to an end during FOX’s Upfront Presentation on Monday.

“Well, we delivered,” Cowell explained to those in attendance. “Rumors are one thing, delivering is something else. This has taken a year to get where we’ve got to today and I am thrilled to be able to confirm, as you can see, the return of LA Reid, the addition of Demi Lovato and the superstar Britney Spears.”

Both Britney and Demi expressed their happiness with the upcoming project. “I am so excited about this whole experience. It’s gonna be so much fun and so different from anything I’ve ever done and I’m ready to find the true star,” Spears explained.

“I’m excited to represent my generation and I’m ready to find the winner,” Demi said.

The singers will replace former judges Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul, who were (in)famously given the boot by Cowell after the last season in an effort to boost the show’s ratings. With the addition of Spears and Lovato, viewers are sure to tune in just to see how well the latest batch of judges mesh.

Although “The X Factor USA” is sure to be a part of FOX’s roster this fall, a premiere date for the show has not been set as of this writing.

My theory on Demi Lovato’s inclusion in #XFactor USA is that they spent all their money on Britney they can no longer afford Rebecca Black.(image) 2 minutes ago via web ·  Reply ·  Retweet ·  Favorite · powered by @socialditto

  • Britney Spears Signs X Factor Deal: Twitter Reacts

Britney Spears has finally inked a deal to appear on the next season of “The X Factor” alongside L.A. Reid and Simon Cowell. According to E! Online, the singer will reportedly receive a whopping $15 million for her participation in the show. The deal comes after months of negotiations and Internet speculation.

In addition to making her lots of money, the show will also mark Spears first foray into primetime television. And, yes, I am painfully aware of her show “Britney & Kevin”, though I think everyone — Spears and Federline included — would love to forget about that one. I’ll rephrase that statement and say that this will be the singer’s first foray into legitimate television, though I’m sure there plenty of people out there who would love to define the word “legitimate” for me.

After the first season of his Americanized version of “The X Factor”, mastermind Simon Cowell systemically cleaned house, famously firing judges Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger in order to make room for some new blood. Host Steve Jones wasn’t immune from the restructuring; he, too, was canned along with the aforementioned judges. No word yet on who will take the fourth seat, though Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato are names that have been tossed around as of late. Cowell’s ultimate goal with these maneuvers is to drastically increase the show’s viewership.

“She’s ready for this,” an insider explained. “She can’t wait to sit down next to Simon at the judges’ table and give this everything she’s got. She is excited about showing the world that she can do this, and do this well. This is the perfect next stage in her career. Both Britney and Simon are very excited to work together.”

Do you think Britney Spears will be a good fit for “The X Factor”, or has Cowell completely lost his mind? Let us know what you think in the comments section. Before doing so, have a look at what a few individuals are posting about the news on Twitter. They won’t change your life, but they’re entertaining nonetheless.

  • The X Factor U.K. to Allow Facebook Auditions

For the first time ever, the U.K. version of “The X Factor” will allow contestants to audition for the talent show from the cozy confines of their humble abodes. This will no doubt increase the program’s freak factor by several interesting notches. If you thought the people who showed up in person to try out were strange, wait until you get a load of the shut-ins who are looking to make their reclusive musical dreams come true.

The show, masterminded by the infamous Simon Cowell, is teaming up with Facebook to allow users to submit videos of their greatest performances for the judges’ consideration. Wannabe singers will have until May 8th to upload their material to the website. After that, it’s back to crooning alone in front of the bedroom mirror.

The show’s open auditions tour has already come to a close. Contestants from that venue will eventually meet up with those who moved forward via Facebook for the ultimate on-stage showdown. All you have to do to submit your own undiscovered masterpiece is to head to their official page, click on the “Audition Now!” tab, and upload your gem onto the internet. Easy as pie.

News of the Facebook pairing was overshadows a bit by The Sun’s serialization of an unauthorized biography of Simon Cowell, a tome which chronicles the notoriously blunt Brit’s adventures in the world of colonic cleansing. Additionally, the tell-all will touch on Cowell’s Botox habits, as well as his affinity for vitamin injections. Sounds like a wonderful summer read.

If you crave even more Cowell-related news, apparently he’s none too pleased about former Take That member Gary Barlow’s return to the show next season. “Simon was never Gary’s biggest fan and really wanted to boot him out and get someone else in,” a source told the Daily Star. “He thought he was a bit dull.”

Sounds like this is just another day in the life of Simon Cowell.
