  • Ashley Olsen and Boyfriend Call it Quits

Even though they’ve been on TV since they were babies, it’s still difficult to tell the Olsen twins apart. These days, one of the best ways to do that is to take a look at the men they’re dating. For example, every time you see Mary-Kate out with her boyfriend Olivier Sarkozy, it’s hard to confuse her with her sister, and vice versa. And now it’ll be even easier to tell them apart, because one is single and one isn’t.

According to Us Weekly, Ashley Olsen and her boyfriend David Schulte have called it quits just after four months of dating.

Schulte has been the CEO of the luxury eyewear brand since 2006 and of course Olsen is known from her days on “Full House,” playing the character Michelle Tanner along with her sister. In the early thousands the Olsen twins partnered with Walmart and sold a very popular clothing and makeup line to young girls and teens. And years later, Ashley and Mary-Kate started The Row, which is a fashion label and website that appeals to those who desire high-end and couture fashion items. A Los Angeles based store for The Row is the works as well.

According to a Us Weekly source, there wasn’t any major drama between Olsen and Schulte and there’s no scandalous story to reveal. It was simply a case of a relationship running its course. “He was a great guy and cute,” said the source. “But it didn’t work out.”

So for the time being, at least, Ashley will probably have to rely on her sister a little more for companionship, which isn’t a problem because she says the two have great communication, with each other and in their business relationship.

“We feel so fortunate to have each other, to have a dialogue,” she said in a recent interview. “Communication is key; it’s the most important thing in life. And Mary-Kate and I get to communicate all day long, on all sorts of subjects. It gets us to a more educated, thoughtful place, because we often come to things from different directions, although we want to get to the same space and have the same goal and vision.”

  • Ashley Olsen and Sister Mary-Kate Talk ‘Full House’ Fashion

Its been a long time since the days of television sitcom, “Full House.” While the entire cast as transcended into different facets of life, the childhood stars, twins Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, haven’t as far out as you would think.

The two often reflect upon their tenure with the show, using the sitcom experience in conjunction with the look of their fashion line.

According to the dynamic duo, they accredit a lot of their lauded fashion industry success to their humble beginnings on the show.

In a recent interview with Net-a-Porter’s online fashion magazine,“The Edit,” the Olsen twins shared their recollection of their first encounters with fashion. Their ‘Full House’ character, Michelle Tanner’s fashion isn’t much of a far cry from their specialty look today. Her 90s-influenced fashion with the awkwardly cute overalls, weird sunglasses, bright-colored tops was actually the start of something beautiful. The makings of their own fashion persona are actually derived from that of Michelle Tanner’s.

“On Full House, we’d be in six-hour fittings three times a week, because we had to wear 12 different outfits,’ Ashley recalls. The majority of the wardrobe was made up of adult pieces, including Chanel and Marc Jacobs, cut to fit.” They also recalled when they may have found their fashion calling. “We were designing clothes for ourselves as we were so petite,” said Mary-Kate. “So I think that is when we became obsessed with fit, and now the obsession has become a profession.”

Their couture fashion label, The Row, features the signature “homeless” look coined by Mary-Kate Olsen. Over the years, the two have transitioned from the acting world to the mainstream fashion sector. Their line consists of over-sized fashion pieces including boots loose-fitting sweaters, flowing skirts, and huge sunglasses. Fashion critics often relate the look to the ever-popular bohemian style. The look has been noted to bridge the gap between high-end and low-end fashion.

The two have also invaded Walmart stores around the United States with their children’s clothing line, tailored for girls ages 4-14. In addition to being declared ‘iconic’ in the fashion world by the New York Times, they’ve also been lauded for their internal work in the business sector of the fashion label. The National Labor Committee has also praised the Olsens for their unwavering committee to their employees and worker rights. The twins have definitely evolved into staunch business women, and there’s no acting involved. What you see is what you get – literally and figuratively.

  • Olsen Twins: Full House Fashion Influence

Even though we have not seen much of the Olsen twins on the big screen, they have been staying busy with their luxurious clothing lines. Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen have definitely made a name for themselves in the fashion industry, and recently discussed where they developed their sense of fashion.

During a recent interview with Net-a-Porter’s “The Edit”, they said they were first exposed to the fashion world while playing the part of Michelle on the 90s hit television show, “Full House”.

“'[On Full House] we’d be in six-hour fittings three times a week, because we had to wear 12 different outfits,’ Ashley says. Believe it or not, most of their wardrobe was made of adult pieces, including designers like Chanel and Marc Jacobs, that were cut to fit. “We were designing clothes for ourselves as we were so petite,” Mary-Kate said. “So I think that is when we became obsessed with fit, and now the obsession has become a profession.”

Ashley described their new endeavor, The Row. “We saw a space in the market,” says Ashley. “We knew there wasn’t another brand offering basics in a luxurious and contemporary way. If I wear certain designer brands, or too much of something, I look crazy, and I need something to break it up. If you are wearing a Chanel jacket and you need an anonymous piece that will show just how special that jacket is, I hope that is what The Row gives you.”

The pair tends to remain out of the public eye, but say they can’t remember a time when their fame wasn’t following them.

“We were 9 months old when we started, so fame has always been part of our lives,” Ashley explained. “There wasn’t any weirdness where we decided that we wanted to be famous. Then as we got older, we were very fortunate that we could hire and work with amazing people who want to protect us.”
