  • Jennifer Aniston: Her Beauty Secrets Do Not Include ‘The Rachel’

Jennifer Aniston tells Glamour that her beauty secrets are simple: Justin Theroux makes her salad. And he makes her feel beautiful

“My stay-fit food: I’m good to go with a kale salad. Actually, Justin [Theroux] makes a great one with a poached egg and quinoa. It’s really delicious… I feel beautiful when I wake up with my sweetheart,”

While Jennifer Aniston was once famous for a hair-do that women spent way too much time trying to imitate, she says now that she was not — and is not — very keen on “The Rachel.” Apparently, it is just too damn much work.

“I was not a fan of ‘the Rachel,’” Jennifer Aniston says now. “That was kind of cringe-y for me. Looking back – honestly, even during that time – I couldn’t do it on my own. I needed [my hairstylist] Chris [McMillan] attached to my hip. Left to my own devices, I am not skilled with a hairbrush and blow-dryer.”

Nowadays, Jennifer Aniston sticks with a hairstyle and care routine that better suits her skill set.

“Long, natural-looking beachy waves. That feels most like me. I’ll wash it, brush it, then put styling cream in and let it air-dry on its own. I put Living Proof Night Cap Overnight Perfector on my hair before bed. Why would I add cream to my hair at night? Well, it absorbs quickly, and it’s weightless. I do that once a week, and I swear it doesn’t harm my pillows.”

Despite the simplicity of her routine, Jennifer Aniston says she feels beautiful in simple times.

“I feel beautiful when I wake up with my sweetheart. When I leave a photo shoot, because somehow miracles have been worked. When I come home from a night out with my honey and my makeup’s a little smudged. I have many moments when I feel beautiful. It’s all about having that inner confidence.”

  • Jennifer Aniston On ‘The Rachel’ and Her Fiance, Justin Theroux

Jennifer Aniston dished recently on a few topics–one of which was her popular hairstyle during her Friends days–the Rachel.

“I was not a fan of ‘the Rachel,’” Aniston says of the hairstyle during an interview with People magazine. “That was kind of cringe-y for me. Looking back–honestly, even during that time–I couldn’t do it on my own.”

Jennifer Aniston admits she didn’t have much luck styling it herself.

“I needed [my hairstylist] Chris [McMillan] attached to my hip. Left to my own devices, I am not skilled with a hairbrush and blow-dryer,” she said.

She’s feeling far more beautiful these days, and says that two things in particular make her feel that way. One is a sunset. And the other?

“I feel beautiful when I wake up with my sweetheart,” she says in the June issue of Glamour.

Jennifer Aniston even shared how she likes Justin Theroux to look.

“Clean-shaven. Scruffy is good, but you really have to wait until you get to the soft moment,” she said.

Do you think Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux will ever take that walk down the proverbial aisle? They’ve been engaged for a while now, but there’s never much said about actually getting married.

If Justin Theroux makes Jennifer Aniston feel beautiful then there’s definitely something very special between the two.

Are you surprised to learn she didn’t like ‘the Rachel’ when the hairstyle was all the rage?

  • Jennifer Aniston Dishes on Iconic Hairstyle

Jennifer Aniston has long been an icon in the world of popular hairstyles. Best known for ‘The Rachel’ from her days on Friends, she jokes that she never was very good at doing her own hair. Her longtime stylist Chris McMillan created–and maintained–the ‘do.

“‘The Rachel’ was one of the hardest hairstyles to maintain. Me and the blow dryer and the hairbrush weren’t meant for each other,” Aniston said during a recent interview. “It really was a ‘hairdo.’”

“When Chris would style it my hair would be great, it would look gorgeous,” she added. “But then when I was left to my own devices, it wouldn’t look the same!”

These days Aniston is “all about a low-maintenance approach” and that includes only washing her hair every other day or every three days. She still finds having had the most popular style around to be completely ironic.

“It was all anyone ever wanted to know about, all Chris ever got asked to do. I liked it at the time, but I started to grow it out after about eight months. But it just wouldn’t die.”

These days, however, ‘The Rachel’ seems to be a done deal. Jennifer Aniston now sports a far more relaxed ‘do that requires little to no maintenance at all except for regular trims and color touch ups by Chris.

She was asked a humorous question about her hair recently and her answer might just surprise you.

“Would you rather have the Rachel haircut for the rest of your life or shave your head once?” Jen was asked.

“Shave my hair once, definitely. ‘The Rachel’ for the rest of my life? Shave my head once! Yeah, I’d shave my head once!” she emphatically replied.

Jennifer Aniston could definitely pull off being bald. ‘The Rachel’ was pretty cool, too. Which do you think you prefer?

  • Jennifer Aniston: “The Rachel” Was The Cut That Wouldn’t Die

Jennifer Aniston has some of the most famous tresses in Hollywood, which the actress says she always found funny because when she was younger, her hair was a “challenge”. Twenty years after she made “The Rachel” the go-to hairstyle for women all around the country, Aniston says she can’t believe it hung around for so long, especially since it’s difficult to maintain.

“When Chris (McMillan, her stylist) would style it my hair would be great, it would look gorgeous. But then when I was left to my own devices, it wouldn’t look the same!” she said.

At the time–when Friends was at the height of its popularity–Aniston loved the cut. But once she realized how difficult it was to style on her own, it got old really fast. She kept the cut less than a year before she started to let it grow out, she says, but other women hung on to it and McMillan was in high demand for a long time because of the style.

“It was all anyone ever wanted to know about, all Chris ever got asked to do. I liked it at the time, but I started to grow it out after about eight months. But it just wouldn’t die,” she said.

Aniston recently surprised fans when she revealed that she only washes her hair once every 2 or 3 days, but says it’s made possible by Living Proof products, which she endorses.

“I don’t get a lot of product build-up with Living Proof and my hair doesn’t get dirty straight away. I wash my hair with No Frizz Shampoo and Conditioner. And with PHD Styling Treatment I can air-dry and style my hair in 10 minutes, when it used to take 25 minutes,” she said.
