  • Amber Lancaster, “Price is Right” Model, Trips and Damages Set While On Air

Amber Lancaster, one of the models on The Price is Right, had a mishap while on the air Friday. Lancaster lost her balance–she was wearing stilettos–and tripped, damaging some stage lighting in the process.

“What..geez!” Price is Right host Drew Carey exclaimed. He was sympathetic to both Amber Lancaster’s well-being and her embarrassment.

The contestant on stage during the mishap looked horrified.

“Did I do that?” the contestant asked, as Amber Lancaster and a second model, who also wore stilettos, laughed.

“Are you OK? the contestant asked Amber Lancaster.

“Yeah, I’m fine. I’m just gonna die of embarrassment,” Lancaster replied.

Fortunately for Amber Lancaster, this isn’t the first time a Price is Right professional has taken a tumble on stage. Back in January, the show’s announcer, George Gray, fell off a treadmaill during the show.

It’s time for the memes to star up, don’t you think? It shouldn’t be long before poor Amber Lancaster is teased mercilessly for her embarrassing mishap.

  • Bob Barker to Appear on “The Bold and the Beautiful”

Bob Barker to Appear on “The Bold and the Beautiful”

Bob Barker is known as the former television host of the popular game show The Price is Right. The 90-year-old is also known as an animal activist who ended every show with his trademark sendoff, “Help control the pet population. Have your pet spayed or neutered.” But did you know that Barker also appeared on the daytime soap The Bold and the Beautiful in 2002? And he plans on doing it again.

Barker, who will be appearing as himself in a cameo, is set to be on the CBS soap starting April 30 for three episodes. The story arc will center around animal rescue. Additionally, animal trainer Brandon McMillan from the CBS show Lucky Dog and Los Angeles Councilman Bernard Parks will also appear with Barker.

In one of the episodes, Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) interviews Barker about animal control. One of Barker’s lines for the interview is reportedly, “Animals can’t speak for themselves, they depend on us to protect them.”

Barker hosted The Price is Right for 35 years until Drew Carey took over in 2007. The television veteran recently made a special guest appearance on the game show on December 12 in order to celebrate his 90th birthday.

The Bold and the Beautiful is still one of the most popular daytime television soaps. The Los Angeles based program made its debut on March 23, 1987.

  • Drew Carey and Craig Ferguson Switch Jobs for April Fools’

Longtime pals Drew Carey and Craig Ferguson plan to play the ultimate April Fools’ Day prank by switching places.

Ferguson will host The Price is Right on April 1 (11:00 AM-12:00 Noon, ET), and Carey will host The Late Late Show on April 1 (12:37-1:37 AM ET). Ferguson and Carey spent nearly a decade working together on The Drew Carey Show, which aired from 1995-2004. Both of their shows airing on CBS, and having offices and studios next to each other, helps keep their friendship strong.

On The Late Late Show’s March 17 episode, Ferguson and Carey announced their plans to switch their hosting gigs. “Hey, Craig Ferguson and I, for April Fools’, are switching jobs. He’s going to host The Price is Right and I’m gonna host The Late Late Show,” revealed Carey. “Now this is for April Fools,’ so don’t tell anyone!” Ferguson added.

During Carey’s Late Late Show hosting stint, he’ll interview comedian Carl Reiner, Pulitzer Prize-winning writer Connie Schultz, and rocker Joan Jett, who will perform her single “Any Weather” with The Blackhearts. Carey’s Price is Right announcer George Gray will join him on The Late Late Show, and  The Price is Right models Rachel Reynolds, Amber Lancaster, and Manuela Arbeláez will also be included in the switch. Besides his Price is Right gig, Carey currently competes on this season of Dancing with the Stars.

Ferguson will be in the company of great The Price is Right hosts, some of them include Bob Barker, Tom Kennedy, Carey, and Dennis James. Ferguson plans to bring his robot skeleton sidekick, Geoff Peterson, and his pantomime horse Secretariat, who will both act as models for The Price is Right. Ferguson’s Late Late Show announcer Shadoe Stevens will also be joining him.

Ferguson already taped his soon-to-air episode of The Price is Right. Last year for April Fools’, Carey and Gray switched places with the models.

  • Bob Barker Celebrates 90th Birthday On Gameshow

Today kicked off the special Pet Adoption Week on the popular game show The Price is Right. In celebration of Bob Barker’s 90th birthday, each episode airing this week will be paying tribute to Barker’s birthday by doing pet adoptions leading up to the birthday celebration on December 12.

Barker has always been known for his love of animals and always signed off the show saying: “Bob Barker reminding you: Help control the pet population. Have your pet spayed or neutered.” “Monday through Friday we’re going to be doing pet adoptions, which is something Bob did on the show for years,” said the executive producer, Mike Richards. “Barker has always had a love for animals and closed the show each day saying: ‘Bob Barker reminding you: Help control the pet population. Have your pet spayed or neutered.’”

It was announced in October that the game show icon would be making his appearance on the show that he hosted for 35 years. In 2007, Barker stepped down as the host and gave the title to comedian, Drew Carrey. “We’ve had Bob on just one other time since Drew Carey took over the show,” said Richards. “It was when Bob’s book, Priceless Memories, came out and it was a priceless moment for fans. I was looking for the perfect reason to bring Bob back again and this TV legend turning 90 is the perfect reason.”

If you want to be a part of Barker’s celebration, tune into The Price is Right weekdays at 11:00 a.m. Eastern time.

  • Bob Barker Spends $1 Million Relocating Elephants

Who knew the former “Price is Right” host, Bob Barker, had a passion for elephants? Apparently, he spent nearly $1 million to relocate three elephants from the Toronto Zoo in Ontario, Canada, to an elephant sanctuary in San Andreas, California.

“Elephants don’t belong it Canada, it’s too cold,” Barker said. “These three were confined to a barn most of the year, probably as much as 80% of the time, and they were slowly going to die right there in that zoo.”

Elephants, 43-year-old, Toka, 33-year-old, Thika, and 44-year-old Iringa, will now live in a natural habitat that spans 80 acres. They will also be living with three other elephants that have made their home there.

The elephants arrived at the sanctuary Sunday night, and Barker was there awaiting them.

“I had a lump in my throat and tears in my eyes when those elephants arrived. I knew their lives were changed forever,” he said. “I stayed over an extra day and saw them come out of their new barn into a big fenced-in area where there’s even a muddle puddle for them to play in. It was wonderful.”

Barker told the Daily News that he wants to spend his money on causes such as this.

“I have a will, and I was allocating money for various groups when I thought, ‘Why should I do this? Why not give it away now so I can see it in action and enjoy it?’” he said. “The people in charge of these various places, they’re so grateful. I had a wonderful time earning this money, and I’m having just as much fun, if not more, giving it away. I plan to die broke.”

  • Bob Barker Pays For Elephants’ New Home

Bob Barker Pays For Elephants’ New Home

Bob Barker has long been an active voice in the fight for animal rights, and he’s spent the past couple of years lobbying for three Canadian elephants to be moved to a new home at a sanctuary. Now, the animals have been moved, and it couldn’t have been done without his help.

Barker, 89, says he doesn’t believe that animals as large as elephants belong at a zoo, where they are confined to such small spaces. After finding out that African elephants Iringa, Thika and Toka were living at the Toronto Zoo, Barker began his quest for a new home for them and worked out an agreement with the Toronto City Council to get them moved. They agreed, but the former game show host would end up shelling out nearly $1 million of his own money to get it done. Perhaps a small price, considering what he accomplished.

“It was more than emotional for me, for all of us,” Barker said. “I had tears in my eyes and a lump in my throat. It’s hard to believe they are finally here.”

The journey took four days using special transports, and now the elephants are free to wander around 2,000 acres of land in Calaveras County along with several other animals who were transferred from zoos or the circus.

Barker has said that he intends to help as many animals and charities as he can after a long and successful career on “The Price Is Right” left him with a cushioned retirement fund.

“I had a job that I loved… I was very well paid for it, and now I’m spending my money,” Barker said. “I intend to die broke.”

  • ‘Price Is Right’ Lawsuit Verdict Overturned

‘Price Is Right’ Lawsuit Verdict Overturned

Do pregnancy discrimination laws extend to employment that is based on a woman’s physical attributes? Brandi Cochran thinks so. Unfortunately for her, a judge believes she will have to argue her case a second time.

The Associated Press is reporting that a Los Angeles judge has found that the jury in Cochran’s discrimination trial was not properly instructed. Specifically, the judge determined that the jury should have been instructed to consider, when The Price is Right producers declined to have Cochran returning as a model, whether pregnancy discrimination was a “substantial factor.” The $8.5 million verdict awarded to her has now been wiped away and a retrial has been called for.

While performing as a model on The Price is Right, the 41-year-old Cochran became pregnant and took maternity leave. When she tried to return to the show in 2010, she was turned down by producers, who told her they needed no more models. Cochran sued for pregnancy discrimination, alleging that her pregnancy was the reason the producers to let her go.

  • Price Is Right: Male Model Chosen From 3 Finalists

“The Price Is Right” has announced its first male model in the show’s 40-year history, a man who competed with two other finalists to earn the title.

Rob Wilson proved he had what it takes by competing in challenges, such as writing and singing lyrics to the show’s theme song (what that has to do with modeling, I’m not quite sure) and changing costumes (there, that’s better); the challenges were streamed on the show’s website, with hundreds of men being narrowed down to 26, until finally only three were left standing. The winner was chosen by viewer votes, with Wilson coming out ahead.

Curiously, he’ll only be given the job for one week–starting October 15th–before the show reverts back to the old sexy-ladies format. It’s still being hosted by comedian Drew Carey.

The show made headlines earlier this year when former host Bob Barker spoke out against producers for not including him in their 40th anniversary celebration, saying there was bad blood over what he feels is a lack of sensitivity on their part towards animal rights.

“I am ashamed of the show and surprised at their complete disregard for the welfare of animals,” he said. “Were I still there, a prize to attend the Calgary Stampede would never have been considered. We never did anything that condoned animal cruelty. Apparently, things have changed.”

  • Bob Barker is “Ashamed” of “The Price Is Right”

Bob Barker says the producers of “The Price Is Right” ignored him when it came time to put together a 40th anniversary show, but he’s taking it rather well.

Barker, who hosted the insanely popular television game show for 35 years, just handed the title over to Drew Carey in 2007. Yet for some reason, the decision-makers thought it prudent to leave Barker out of the anniversary special. The reason? Barker thinks it’s because he spoke out several times against the show for giving away prizes to organizations like Sea World and Calgary Stampede, which he says are “notorious for animal abuse”.

The former show host has been an animal rights activist for years and did manage to get the show’s producers to make small changes during his tenure, such as halting the giveaway of fur and leather coats. However, he hasn’t been shy about voicing his opinion on how things have been run since he left, which might have contributed to the exclusion.

“I don’t know why I wasn’t asked to take part in some way,” Barker said. “But I do know I am ashamed of the show and surprised at their complete disregard for the welfare of animals. Were I still there, a prize to attend the Calgary Stampede would never have been considered. We never did anything that condoned animal cruelty. Apparently, things have changed.”

Barker’s strong opinions on organizations like Calgary Stampede and Sea World–which he says are “notorious” for animal cruelty–have led to some clarifications on both parts. The Calgary Stampede says it “works with the Calgary Humane Society and the Alberta Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals to ensure its animals receive proper care”, while Sea World insists that every animal in their care is “content and healthy”.

Although Barker was shown in several clips on the anniversary special–which aired last night–he was not asked to participate, and Drew Carey hosted the show. Barker says he’s fine with the decision, but chose not to watch it.

  • The Price is Right Begins Casting Male Models

CBS today announced that The Price is Right, the daytime game show known for the phrase “a new car!” and games such as Plinko, will be getting a male model to join its cast of female beauties.

A five-episode web series will air this fall featuring some possible models for the show. The show will be a competition, and viewers will be able to vote online for their favorite models. The model who receives the most votes will win a one-week modeling gig on The Price is Right, which will air the week of October 15th. The web series will tape on September 4th and 5th, and the winner of the series will be announced on October 5th.

CBS will invite men who are over 18 years of age to an open casting call at Studio City in Los Angeles on August 30, from 10am to 2pm. Models will then be featured on The Price is Right website, where fans can vote on the men. The semi-finalists from that casting call will be featured in the five-part web series.

Want to be a male model on The Price is Right? Those interested can fill out a participant application to be considered for the contest. Some of the questions on the application include “Have you ever made or appeared in a home video or photograph in which you or another person appeared nude or topless (female)?” and “Have you ever been convicted of a felony?”

Though this is a contest for a one-week appearance on the show, it could be that CBS is looking to test whether male models could work on The Price is Right. The show has traditionally featured tall, leggy women who show off products, flip price cards and roll out props for various games.
