  • Matt Damon To Leo DiCaprio: This Is How You Make A Movie

Matt Damon used the podium at the Director’s Guild Awards to poke a little fun at his co-nominee for Best Actor at this year’s Academy Awards, Leonardo DiCaprio.

Matt Damon said, “Every night at six o’clock, the horn blew and Ridley [Scott] and I went to dinner. And that’s how you make a movie, and we finished the film really early and we saved two million bucks. And Leo – we weren’t cold at all. I’m just sayin’. There’s another way to do it.”

Matt Damon was referring to the dangerous and harsh conditions Leonardo DiCaprio, as well as the cast and crew, endured while filming The Revenant.

The Revenant was filmed in cold and snow-covered Canadian wilderness. DiCaprio, a strict vegan, even had to eat raw liver for the role.

Solve one problem, then the next. If you solve enough problems, you get to come home. #MotivationMonday #TheMartian

Matt Damon’s filming situation for The Martian was definitely more comfortable.

While Matt Damon seemed to have had an easy time filming The Martian, he is struggling a little to get his new movie, The Great Wall, to the big screen.

It was originally set to open this November, but has been rescheduled for President’s Day weekend 2017.

The Great Wall, which stars Matt Damon, Pedro Pascal, Tian Jing, Andy Lau and Willem Dafoe will be directed by House of Flying Daggers‘ Zhang Yimou.

While Matt Damon’s comments to Leonardo DiCaprio seemed mean, DiCaprio and The Revenant‘s director, Alejandro González Iñárritu, reportedly laughed along with him.

What do you think about Matt Damon’s comparative comments?

  • Alicia Vikander Shared PDA With Beau Michael Fassbender at Golden Globes, Called It An Early Evening

Alicia Vikander was spotted sharing a bit of PDA with beau Michael Fassbender at Sunday’s Golden Globes. The star of The Danish Girl caressed him warmly when he was named as one of the nominees for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture-Drama–for his work in Steve Jobs. Usually very private and quite reserved, this modest PDA was a big thing coming from Alicia Vikander.

There was little to no partying for Alicia Vikander, even though after-parties were countless. Sources told Page Six she was being picked up by a car at 2:30 a.m. to be driven to Las Vegas.

Alicia Vikander is starring in the as yet unnamed next installment of the Bourne film franchise, alongside one of the evening’s big winners, Matt Damon.

“She’s going to be sleeping in the car,” a source told Page Six of the actress.

Matt Damon won the Golden Globe for his role for Best Actor in a Comedy for The Martian.

Do you suppose he is excited to star opposite Alicia Vikander in the next Bourne film?

Do you expect Matt Damon had to catch a 2:30 a.m. ride to Vegas for a set call–or because he’s the head honcho, was he allowed to party a bit following the Golden Globes instead?

  • Matt Damon Says ‘Martian’ Director Ridley Scott Deserves Oscar Nod Before He Does

Matt Damon, star of the critically acclaimed film The Martian, says director Ridley Scott deserves an Oscar nomination for his work on the film before he does.

Many consider Damon a frontrunner for a best actor Oscar nomination for his work in The Martian, but the Oscar-winning actor says there are others more deserving of an Oscar nod.

“Honest to God, there are other performances I would give it to,” Damon said on Wednesday’s Today show when asked about the possibility of winning a best actor Oscar for The Martian.

Damon seems more concerned that Ridley Scott, acclaimed for his work on such films as Alien and Gladiator, has yet to win an Academy Award.

“I’m much more interested in the director race this year,” Damon said, noting that he thought Scott had received an Oscar when Gladiator won best picture but he didn’t because he wasn’t a producer on the film.

“Our awards are all diminished until he wins one,” Damon graciously said of Scott.

Ridley Scott joined Damon on the Today show interview and said he is also hoping to finally win an Oscar. He noted that he knows exactly what he’ll tell the coveted trophy if he does succeed in finally winning.

“If I ever get it I’ll say, ‘Where have you been?’” laughed Scott.

  • Best Movies of 2015 Mix of Children’s, Action Films, and More

The best movies of 2015 comprise an eclectic list. “Best,” of course, is relative. NDTV.com made a list of what they consider the best movies of 2015, and it includes children’s films, action flicks, and more.

NDTV chose 10 films for their best movies of 2015 list–and they admit the list is surprising. See if you’ve watched any they deem among the year’s best.

Ant-Man: Dubbed the “smallest big film of the year,” Ant-Man made the list because of Paul Rudd and some impressive cinematography.

“The film was full of plot holes and inconsistent science, but none of that mattered because everyone in the cinema was having so much fun,” NDTV writes.

Inside Out: This Pixar film is about feelings that have feelings. It appeals–as most Pixar films do–to adults as well as the children for which it was written.

Mad Max: Fury Road: Stunning visuals, amazing scenery, and Charlize Theron took this film with a two-hour long chase scene to new heights, making it worthy of the best movies of 2015 listing.

The Martian: Even though NDTV says it’s “slow,” they also write it’s “surprisingly accessible and highly enjoyable.” It also stars Matt Damon. Enough said?

Jurassic World: Already a contender for an Oscar for best visual effects, the only film to trump this one in box office sales is Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Besides, who doesn’t love Chris Pratt?

Minions: They’re yellow, and they look like giant Twinkies with eyes–but that’s not enough to leave them off the best movies of 2015 list, and NDTV agrees. They do warn viewers not to take them too seriously, however. Who takes a yellow creature that looks like a Twinkie with eyes seriously? Really?

Good Dinosaur: Yet another offering from Pixar for 2015, it doesn’t boast the hype of Inside Out, but is one of the most “gorgeous animated movies” the good people at NDTV have ever seen.

Ex Machina: Starring Alicia Vikander of The Danish Girl, Ex Machina raises questions about transhumanism without requiring viewers to learn a whole new vocabulary.

Chappie: Classified as a film you’ll either really love or really hate, Chappie features rappers Die Antwoord. NDTV says give it a chance, and since it made their best movies of 2015 list, someone must have done just that.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens: This one needs no explanation. It grossed more than any other film that opened Christmas weekend–even trumping Jurassic Park.

Would you place any of these films on your best movies of 2015 list?

There are many lists boasting the year’s best. As previously stated, “best” is relative. Do you agree?

  • Jessica Chastain: “Crimson Peak” Actress Incognito, But Not for Halloween

Jessica Chastain is almost unrecognizable on the November W magazine cover and on the inside spread. The Crimson Peak actress wasn’t simply scouring for Halloween options, but underwent a style transformation that showed off her very diverse personality and range of talents.

This marked the third time Jessica Chastain covered W, but this cover and spread are unlike anything she’s done before.

Part of the spread features Jessica Chastain with long, hot-pink hair. In the rest, the star of The Martian sports platinum blonde locks, styled in a pompadour.

An interview inside W proves that Jessica Chastain’s personality is as adaptable as her appearance. She dishes on a future film role she’d love to score.

“One of my goals is to play a villain in a Bond film. People ask me if I want to be a Bond girl, and I say, ‘No, I want to be the villain.’ I’m waiting for that call!”

Besides Crimson Peak and The Martian, Jessica Chastain is known for roles in Interstellar, Zero Dark Thirty, and The Help.

Would you have readily recognized Jessica Chastain had her name not been on the W magazine cover and within its pages?

Do these Jessica Chastain shots give you any ideas for Halloween?

  • Jessica Chastain Rocks Punk Rock Look For Photo Shoot, Dishes On Dream Role

Jessica Chastain has donned a completely different look for the cover of the latest issue of W magazine that may surprise fans of the Oscar-nominated actress.

While the 38-year-old actress has transformed numerous times for the big screen, her punk look for W is quite the departure from previous looks.

In many of the shots, the natural redhead’s locks are hot-pink. Rocking bold blush, blood-red lipstick and thick, drawn-on brown make her look so very far removed from her typical pristine red carpet looks she seems to prefer.

Other pics in the photo shoot feature Chastain with platinum blonde hair styled in a pompadour hairstyle.

If one can look past the extreme hair and makeup, Jessica Chastain’s clothing is a whole other stylish beast. The Martian actress wears a Givenchy leather jacket and lace dress. For the second set of shots she wears a take on the feather-topped Proenza Schouler dress a pregnant Kim Kardashian wore to the 2015 CFDA Fashion Awards this past June, as reported by Us Weekly.

For the cover article, entitled Transformer, Chastain spoke about her upcoming role in Crimson Peak, and said she dreams of one day tackling one role in particular.

“One of my goals is to play a villain in a Bond film,” said Chastain. “People ask me if I want to be a Bond girl, and I say, ‘No, I want to be the villain.’ I’m waiting for that call!”

The actress, who typically keeps her private life on the down-low, gave a tidbit about her boyfriend, Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo, whom she’s been dating for the past four years.

“He’s a gentleman, and that’s very important to me,” Chastain said. “He’s from an old-school Italian family. No one in his family has ever been divorced!”

So what do you think of Jessica Chastain’s look for W magazine?

  • Jessica Chastain Intrigues In New Clip From “The Martian”

Jessica Chastain, in her new role as astronaut Melissa Lewis, is absolutely one tough cookie.

In a new clip for The Martian, Jessica Chastain quietly and definitively shuts down some sexism thrown her way during a psychological interview.

The interview is the focus of the new clip, and features Jessica Chastain, Matt Damon and Sebastian Stan, among others.

They all had to spend 10 days in isolation as a preparation for life on the Ares 3.

    Watch the clip:

As quickly as Jessica Chastain shuts down the line of ridiculous questioning, Matt Damon confuses with a question about why Aquaman can control whales.

    The Martian looks really interesting!

There was talk last month about the joke Jessica Chastain made way back in September of 2013 about the possibility of falling in love with her gorgeous co-star, Charlie Hunnam, before they started filming Crimson Peak.

However, that did not happen, as Jessica Chastain declared at this year’s Comic-Con.

Jessica Chastain announced, “I did not fall in love with Charlie, press out!”

She then added, “I do love him, but I’m not in love with him.”

Jessica Chastain later told of a gift that Charlie Hunnam bought her for her birthday and how “cool” he is.

Jessica Chastain said he is “absolutely gorgeous” and “so nice.”

She continued, “He bought me this incredible thoughtful birthday present, this amazing artist and this book of photographs. He’s just this normal down-to-earth [guy]. So cool.”

Makes one wonder if Jessica Chastain faced the same “temptation” working with Sebastian Stan or Matt Damon…

Probably not. In reality, Jessica Chastain is enjoying a long-term relationship with handsome Italian fashion exec Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo, and he’s plenty to look at.

What do you think of the new clip starring Jessica Chastain? Are you excited to see The Martian?

  • Matt Damon and Ben Affleck To Bring FIFA Scandal to Big Screen

Matt Damon and Ben Affleck are set to produce a film based on Houses of Deceit–an upcoming book highlighting the scandal within the international governing body of soccer. Warner Bros. just acquired rights to the film.

The Los Angeles Times reports that Gavin O’Connor, who just wrapped filming The Accountant, starring Ben Affleck, is on board to direct the FIFA movie, too.

The upcoming book, written by Ken Bensinger, will expand upon the author’s 2014 report about Chuck Blazer. Blazer is the American FIFA exec who not only helped popularize the sport in the U.S., but also admitted to accepting bribes and kickbacks amounting to millions over the course of his career.

Making this film will serve as a reunion of sorts for Matt Damon and Ben Affleck. The two will forever be known as the Good Will Hunting boys. The 1997 film that also starred the late Robin Williams made Matt Damon and Ben Affleck household names.

So what have Affleck and Damon been up to since then? Career-wise they’ve stayed prominently visible for the nearly 20 years since Good Will Hunting–which is exceptional in the film world.

Ben Affleck will soon appear in The Accountant, which hits theaters in January, as well as Batman v. Superman (he plays Batman), which premieres in March.

Matt Damon is best known for his work on the Bourne franchise. He will appear on the big screen in The Martian in October, and once again alongside Julia Stiles as Jason Bourne in July of 2016.

Are you excited to learn that Matt Damon and Ben Affleck will soon be back together again as they prepare to work on this film about the FIFA scandal? They will no doubt add passion and intrigue to this facet of the sports world.

  • Matt Damon To Shrink In Size For New Role

Looks like Matt Damon will be very busy for the next couple of years.

The actor has recently signed on to play a character going through bad times, who decides to shrink himself in hopes that his smaller size will make his life better. The film is called Downsizing. It will be directed and written by Alexander Payne (The Descendants, Sideways, Election).

The social satire is currently in development. Joining Payne in writing the screenplay is Jim Taylor, who worked with the auteur on Sideways. Payne’s production company, Ad Hominem Enterprises, will produce.

Damon is also set to star in Ridley Scott’s upcoming science fiction movie The Martian about an astronaut who gets stranded on Mars and struggles to survive. Also starring in The Martian are Jessica Chastain, Kate Mara, and Kristen Wiig.

In September, it was revealed that Damon would take another turn, his fourth, as Jason Bourne. Universal also signed director Paul Greengrass to the project, who worked with Damon on The Bourne Ultimatum and The Bourne Supremacy. The action film should be ready for release in July 2016.

In what may be Bourne-overload at the box office next summer, Jeremy Renner’s spinoff sequel The Bourne Betrayal, is also slated for a July 2016 release. Can Universal pull off two Bourne movies in one month?

If you want to see Matt Damon on the big screen this weekend, he has a small role in Christopher Nolan’s epic science fiction movie Interstellar. The film is making its debut at the box office today. The tagline, “A group of explorers make use of a newly discovered wormhole to surpass the limitations on human space travel and conquer the vast distances involved in an interstellar voyage.” The movie stars Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, and Jessica Chastain.
