  • Jen Arnold Cancer Update – Headed Back To Work

Jen Arnold, of TLC’s The Little Couple, is finally back to feeling like herself.

Arnold, who was diagnosed with cancer last year, recently underwent her last chemotherapy treatment, and is currently in remission. On April 14, she took to Twitter to let her followers know that she would be “getting back in the saddle” and would be heading back to work the next day.

Jen and her husband Bill openly documented Jen’s battle on their reality show. Fans got to see all of the ups and downs of her treatment that came, not long, after adopting their daughter Zoey.

It was actually during their trip, to pick up their newest edition, that Jen first started experiencing symptoms. Doctors advised her to head back to the US to undergo tests, and that is when they made the discovery that Jen had cancer.

Since her diagnosis, Jen has been bravely fighting a battle that no one should have to fight. However, through the sickness and loss of hair, Jen was still able to balance her family life.

She revealed, during an interview on the Today show, that she is feeling better and even took little Zoey on a shopping trip in San Francisco.

“We haven’t taken her to many stores since we brought her home because we’ve been on lockdown,” Jen explained. “So I think she was just having a blast, checking it all out. I’ve definitely found my shopping partner in crime.”

Bill is not the least bit worried about his wife’s shopping habit. He is just happy that she is able to get out and about. “While Jen has experienced fatigue since completing chemotherapy, I believe having the opportunity to go shopping is a good sign that she is on the way back to being her,” he said. “For a change, this husband won’t be complaining when she heads to the mall.”

  • Jen Arnold Opens Up About Cancer Diagnosis

Jen Arnold and her husband Bill Klein have had their lives documented on TLC’s The Little Couple for several years now. We have seen their struggles living with dwarfism, and we have seen their triumphs as they started their family through adoption.

This past year was one of Jen’s best and worst. The couple found out that they had a little girl waiting on them in India. Jen, Bill, and their son Will traveled across the world to meet their newest edition Zoey. While they were there, Jen started experiencing very intense bleeding, and called her gynecologist. Her doctor suggested that she return to the States to be evaluated. As much as Jen wanted to stay there for Zoey, her health had to become a priority and she made her way back home.

After undergoing extensive testing, the doctors diagnosed Jen with stage three uterine cancer. She received radiation and chemotherapy treatments, and is currently in remission. While most people would want to keep this part of their life private, Jen made the decision to share her story with the world on their show. During a video, that was released on Thursday, Jen and Bill talk about how they both felt when Jen received her diagnosis, and why they chose to expose her journey.

“We hope, like everything else we shared, it helps to raise awareness, it educates, and maybe it helps someone along the line,” Jen said. She admitted that it was not an easy decision to make, but they thought it through and decided that they would move forward and allow the cameras to document the hardest time of their lives.

“For the first time, we had to pause and think about whether or not that was something we should and could share with you as well,” Jen explained. “After much thought and time, we decided that it would be important to share with you, this other struggle in our lives.”

Jen continues to inspire her viewers each and every day. She is such a strong woman, and lives to help others. Hopefully, her story will be able to help those out there who are currently battling the fierce disease.

  • Jen Arnold: Cancer is in Remission

Jen Arnold of TLC’s The Little Couple has been battling a rare form of cancer. After enduring months of weekly chemotherapy treatments she is thrilled to announce that her cancer is in remission.

“I had my official last chemo treatment,” says Arnold, 39. “And while I’m hesitant to say I’m cancer-free – maybe that’s common for people who have had cancer – I’m doing great. Everything is moving in the right direction. I am very excited.”

The doctor, wife and mother of two spent much of the past few months feeling sick and exhausted.

“It actually got harder as more time went on,” Arnold says. “Some weeks were more difficult than others with different side effects. I had a lot of fatigue and nausea and some days it just felt like my hands and feet were very heavy.”

Arnold was diagnosed with stage 3 choriocarcinoma–a rare form of cancer. Now that she is in remission, she will undergo weekly blood tests to stay on top of things should her cancer return. Once she has had several weeks of good news from these blood tests she will graduate to monthly testing instead. Most cancers like the one Jen Arnold suffered from return within the first 18 months if they recur at all. She will be closely monitored by her doctor throughout the next year and a half because of that.

Jen Arnold credits her husband and The Little Couple costar–Bill Klein–for helping her survive those most difficult days during chemotherapy treatments.

“Bill knows when I’m not doing well and he takes such good care of me,” she says. “That was huge. That and enjoying watching my children play was a huge uplifting part of my treatment. With kids running around, you don’t have much time to feel sorry for yourself.”

She shared the exciting news of her cancer’s remission on Tuesday–World Cancer Day.

Arnold is a neonatologist at Texas Children’s Hospital, and while she hasn’t returned to her job full time, she is getting ready to ease back into her role as a doctor.

“Sometimes I get a little winded when I walk around more and I have that fuzzy chemo brain at times, but I am very excited and happy to be where I am right now,” she says. “I want to get stuff done. I am anxious to get back to my normal self.”

Fans of The Little Couple star are no doubt thrilled to hear her good news and will hold their breath along with Jen Arnold as she undergoes each weekly and then monthly blood test, praying her cancer remains in remission until that wonderful day when she is deemed cancer free.
