  • Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell, Christina Applegate: Mom Comedy to Evoke Summer Laughs

Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell, and Christina Applegate are starring in a “mom comedy,” (previously titled Bad Moms) that’s sure to evoke plenty of laughter this coming summer.

STX Entertainment has announced August 19 as its opening date, with its new title forthcoming.

Variety reports the film follows three moms–Mila Kunis, Christina Applegate, and Kristen Bell–as they navigate a path toward their liberation–but not the kind you might think.

This liberation is from the everyday–the mundane roles of stereotypical stay-at-home moms. Alas, the liberation lands the ladies in the line of fire of the PTA president and her posse of perfect moms.

Mila Kunis only recently became a mom herself. She and Ashton Kutcher welcomed baby girl Wyatt just over a year ago. It should be interesting to hear her perspective on this role prior to the film’s release.

The film is written and directed by The Hangover duo–Jon Lucas and Scott Moore–which in itself guarantees laughter.

Since the as-yet-unnamed film is rated R, it may guarantee even more than that.

This is the first role Mila Kunis has taken since becoming a mom. It will be fun to hear her take on going back to work after all that time at home with her little girl.

Fans of Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell, and Christina Applegate will no doubt learn more about this film once it has a title and a trailer is released.

  • Mila Kunis Joins Kristen Bell and Christina Applegate in Untitled Comedy Penned By ‘The Hangover’ Writing Team

Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell and Christina Applegate prove that stars do align.

The threesome have all signed on to star in an untitled STX comedy, which was formerly under the stewardship of Judd Apatow.

According to Us Weekly, the romp was originally titled Bad Moms, was set to be released by Paramount and produced by Apatow, with Leslie Mann on board to star. All of that has changed. What does remain is The Hangover writers, Jon Lucas and Scott Moore, who have stayed on to write and direct. Suzanne Todd (Alice in Wonderland) and Bill Block will produce.

“Jon Lucas and Scott Moore are masters at creating relatable characters that audiences instantly embrace, and then putting them in hilarious real-life situations for great comedic results,” STX president and CCO Oren Aviv said in a statement. “This film provides the rare opportunity for a half-dozen strong female lead roles, and we are thrilled to have assembled an exceptional cast led by Mila Kunis, Christina Applegate, Kristen Bell. We can’t wait to start production and be part of the magic this team will bring to the screen.”

The film with Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell and Christina Applegate will reportedly focus on three overworked mothers, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The stressed out mommas decide to switch up their lives a bit to free themselves from the responsibilities of everyday life. Needless to say, that decision leads to problems with the “perfect” clique of mothers, led by the head of the PTA.

Who thinks this new Mila Kunis — who will likely relate as a new mom — romp will be just a little be awesome?

  • Amanda Seyfried Will Replace Mila Kunis as Female Lead in ‘Ted 2’

Deadline is reporting that Amanda Seyfried will play the lead female role in Seth MacFarlane’s Ted 2.

Mark Wahlberg will once again play the lead role of John Bennett and MacFarlane will provide the voice of the titular character, Bennett’s talking teddy bear.

In case anyone is wondering why Mila Kunis won’t be back as the female lead, MacFarlane says it’s nothing more than a creative decision. Apparently he decided to take the sequel in a direction that won’t include as much – if any – screen time for Kunis’ character Lori Collins.

Ted was MacFarlane’s feature-length directorial debut and the film did surprisingly well at the box office. It was the 12th highest grossing film worldwide in 2012. And thanks to the fact that it did so well internationally, it set a box office record that year for original R-rated comedy, surpassing the record set by The Hangover back in 2009.

Ted 2 is currently scheduled for a summer 2015 release.

MacFarlane is about to wrap post-production on A Million Ways to Die in the West, a comic western that he wrote, directed, and stars in. Seyfried is among the cast, in addition to Liam Neeson, Charlize Theron, Neil Patrick Harris, Sarah Silverman, and Ted alum Giovanni Ribisi.

A Million Ways to Die in the West is scheduled to hit theaters on May 30, 2014.

MacFarlane may have written Kunis out of the script for Ted 2 but the two still work together on Family Guy where Kunis has been the voice of Meg Griffin since Season Two of the long-running animated comedy. MacFarlane created the Fox series and provides the voice for several characters.

In November The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Kunis was one of four Family Guy cast members who had landed between $175,000 and $225,000 each per episode for at least two, and as many as five more seasons of the series.

  • Zach Galifianakis Teams Up With Louis C.K. For FX Comedy

The time has come for fans of comedy to get extra excited. Zach Galifianakis and Louis C.K., two of the comedy giants of the past few years, are teaming up together to make a new comedy. What more could the fans ask for?

The new show comes just a month after Louis C.K., the star of FX’s Louie, inked a deal with the network to produce additional projects under his production company, Pig Newton, while partnering with Louie producer Blair Breard.

It is an exciting time for FX and fans of comedy, as FX Networks and FX Productions CEO John Landgraf said “So many incredibly talented artists want to work with Louis and follow down the independent and idiosyncratic creative trail he has blazed. I can’t wait to see who he brings through our door, not to mention any new projects that he wants to create for us.”

The new untitled comedy that will star Zach Galifinakis marks his first project with the network in the deal, and when the two of them being paired up, it is undoubtedly going to a huge hit with the fans and critics.

The new comedy is just one of 12 new projects in the works at FX, and others include Billy Crystal’s The Comedian, You’re the Worst from Weeds’ Stephen Falk, Tracy Morgan’s Death Pact, Denis Leary’s Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll and the newly announced Charlie Kaufman comedy How & Why, starring Michael Cera and John Hawkes.

Zach Galifianakis shot to stardom with his role in The Hangover in 2009, and its subsequent sequels, but he has also starred in several other films, and has experience with television already too. Other notable films of the comedy star include Due Date, It’s Kind Of A Funny Story and The Campaign.

This will mark the latest adventure in television for Galifianakis, who has previously starred in the HBO comedy Bored To Death, Tim And Eric Awesome Show, Great Job and he continues to host the online series Between Two Ferns where he has ironically interviewed a variety of celebrities, including a recent interview with Justin Bieber.

Zach Galifianakis will also serve as an executive producer, along with Louis C.K., Blair Breard, Dave Becky and Andrea Pett-Joseph and Marc Gurvitz. Louie is also set to return to the network in May with its fourth season. Louis C.K. is known for his unique brand of vulgar comedy, and along with Galifianakis, they should make an interesting team.

For fans to see Zach Galifianakis in a comedy that is made from a production team including Louis C.K. could be a comedy fan’s dream, and it will soon become a reality. Details are being kept secret, but the two of them will also co-write the project that was created by Galifianakis.
