  • Meghan Trainor: Dad Said Boys Like More Booty

Meghan Trainor admitted on Sunday that it was actually her dad who told her that boys like a little more booty.

Miley Cyrus was the one who really posed the question to Meghan Trainor in a video.

She asked, “I would like to know, Meghan, did your mom actually tell you that guys like a little bit more booty? Was that actually a quote from your mother?”

Surprisingly, Meghan Trainor, said, “My mom told me to always not worry about your size and be very confident,” and then admitted, “But I think that [my dad] was the one who really said, ‘Don’t worry, baby — boys like booty to hold at night.’ My mom’s too sweet, she’s too innocent.”

Ha! That is too funny. Meghan Trainor brought her father as her date on Sunday to The Grammys, and he was there to laugh with her as she admitted to the world that it was actually him who told her about booty.

The two of them looked like they were having the time of their lives and enjoying every minute of the evening and even every minute of Meghan Trainor’s booming music career.

Meghan Trainor is still surprised at her success and it seems surreal to her that she has all of these opportunities.

When she was asked about the highlight so far, Meghan Trainor said, “There are so many highlights.”

She added, “Last night I got to perform with John Legend my song ‘Like I’m Gonna Lose You,’ with him at the gala in front of all these stars.”

That sounds amazing! Congratulations to Meghan Trainor on her skyrocketing career!

  • Grammy Awards: **** You From Trent Reznor

Grammy Awards: **** You From Trent Reznor

Last night the 58th Grammy Awards was broadcast from The Staples Center in Los Angeles. For over a week, teaser commercials have announced the exciting closing performance by Nine Inch Nails, Queens of the Stone Age, Fleetwood Mac’s Lindsey Buckingham, and Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl.

After many other performances by acts such as Sir Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, Merle Haggard, and Blake Shelton, Pharrell Williams, Daft Punk, and Stevie Wonder, and a massave marriage “ceremony” for bi-racial and homosexual couples led by Queen Latifah and Madonna, the telecast ran 45 minutes long.

Finally it was time for the highly anticipated finale. However, before the set was finished, the credits began to roll and the performance was finally cut short when local news stations began to start late newscasts.

    Fans were not happy.

But fans weren’t the only ones upset. Nine Inch Nail’s front man, Trent Reznor, also sounded off via Twitter.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Recording Academy President Portnow explained by saying, “We save the end slot for something that is a bit of a jam, because you can have the energy go and then it’s just a matter of the clock.”

In 2011, Reznor, 48, also spoke out against the Grammys, saying, “Why don’t the Grammys matter? Because it feels rigged and cheap – like a popularity contest that the insiders club has decided.”

Nine Inch Nails and Queens of the Stone Age were up for awards last night, but both lost out.

Dave Grohl did win two awards, however: one for Best Rock Song with “Cut Me Some Slack” and the other for Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media for Sound City: Real to Reel. He accepted the first award with Sir Paul McCartney.

  • Macklemore and Ryan Lewis Make History with “Same Love” Grammy Performance

During last night’s Grammy awards show, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis sung their mega-hit “Same Love.” The artists performed like usual with backing vocals from Mary Lambert, but this wasn’t their typical performance. About half way through it, 33 couples gathered into the aisles to be wed by Queen Latifah.

Queen Latifah, who introduced Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, got deputized by the Los Angeles County sometime prior to the show. After she officiated the ceremony for the 33 couples, Madonna appeared in an all-white pantsuit. She sang “Open Your Heart,” which later transitions back to “Same Love.”

The couples included in the special Grammys ceremonial weddings were gay, straight, old, young and many different races. One of those couples also had a special connection to Lewis. His sister, Laura, married her boyfriend, Alex, during the Grammy performance.

According to the New York Times, Grammy producer Ken Ehrlich planned the segment to emphasize the delicate nature of the subject of gay marriage. Ehrlich said the segment represented his own personal views, but didn’t want to give the misconception that these views represent the Academy or CBS Television Network.

Macklemore and Ryan Lewis were nominated for seven Grammy awards and won four of them. They won best rap album, best rap performance, best new artist and best rap song for “Thrift Shop.”

Twitter went crazy sending support, congratulations and admiration to Macklemore and Ryan Lewis for their historical performance.

Lewis told the New York Times that the weddings “will be in our minds the ultimate statement of equality, that all the couples are entitled to the same exact thing.”

  • Justin Timberlake Misses Out On Top Grammy Honors

Justin Timberlake may be sitting pretty in terms of total Grammy nominations, but there is a startling lack of nominations for major categories. He will actually be sharing the majority of the nods he did get with rapper Jay-Z for collaborations on “Suit & Tie” and “Holy Grail”. “Mirrors” is up for Best Pop Solo Performance and “Pusher Love Girl” for Best R&B Song. Timberlake’s other nomination is for Best Pop Vocal Album.

Members of the media are already calling it a snub, and it’s hard to argue against the sentiment. His critically-acclaimed album, “The 20/20 Experience”, was the most successful of the year. It has sold 2.3 million copies to date. The second part has sold well over 600,000 copies, bringing his total sales to close to 3 million for the year. Suffice it to say, this is quite a feat in a post “illegal mp3 download” world.

But sales aren’t everything, and the decision to overlook Timberlake in the major categories seems to drive this point home. Glancing over the list of people who did make it into the list for top honors, you’ll note that most of them are new faces. While some became popular over the last two or three years, the majority are riding on major and fairly recent buzz. The young singer Lorde with her hit “Royals” is a prime example. Not only does she join Timberlake in two of his pop categories, her music is up for Record of the Year and Song of the Year.

But before we dismiss the Grammys as being all about everything new this year, it should be noted that Daft Punk could also be drawing top honors for their successful “Random Access Memories” album and single, “Get Lucky”. Pharrell Williams is featured in that song, as well as another song up for an award: “Blurred Lines” with T.I. and Robin Thicke.

Parallels are often drawn between Timberlake and Thicke over the neo “blue-eyed soul” sound and styling, raising some speculation on the inclusion of one for Record of the Year and the ignoring of the other.

It’s doubtful that Justin Timberlake will be too bothered about which categories he missed out on this year. It’s more likely that he’s hoping what everyone else who got a nomination is hoping: To not go home empty-handed.

  • The Mystery of Paul McCartney Solved

The Mystery of Paul McCartney Solved

Well, folks, you asked. At least the future brain surgeons and rocket scientists of America did. It’s a question that burned in our collective conscious as we staggered about, trying to figure who the hell that was performing with during The Grammys?

Who the hell is Paul McCartney?

Thanks to the hard-hitting investigative reporting of Funny or Die, the question has been answered. We now know who the hell Paul McCartney really is. As the report disclosed, the person America was asking about was actually born Sirpaul McCartney, “a hella long time ago, probably in Europe or somewhere.” Even though he might look like “that bitch from Murder, She Wrote,” make no mistake, Sirpaul is actually a boy. He’s just really old.

Confused? Allow Funny or Die to clear it up:

Hopefully, this little public service announcement will eliminate any future embarrassment, provided Sirpaul ever turns up on television again. Maybe next time, Sirpaul will have Lil B from The Pack with him.
