  • The Duggars TV Show Canceled, But New Special ‘Jill & Jessa: Counting On’ In The Works

The Duggars, a family that stars in reality television show, 19 Kids and Counting, will reportedly have new specials on the TLC network.

The new TV special comes after 19 Kids and Counting was canceled in July amidst sexual abuse allegations against the family’s oldest son, Josh Duggar.

In a report, Duggar has admitted committing the inappropriate acts and said he “acted inexcusably” during his teenager years. The father of four has issued a public apology, and has checked into a Christian rehab facility in Rockford, Illinois.

Meanwhile, the new show, entitled Jill & Jessa: Counting On, will feature Duggar sisters Jill Dillard and Jessa Seewald, who have already appeared in the special’s first promo clip. Jill, 24, and Jessa, 22, appeared emotional in a portion of the one-minute sneak peak.

“We were devastated,” Jessa said in the video. “We couldn’t believe it. You have to wonder: How did this happen?” Meanwhile, Jill added, “You’re angry and hurt and all of those emotions all mixed together. I cried a lot of tears. I still do,” while she wipes her tears.

While the emotions were evident, it was not clear why exactly the sisters were crying. One report says it could be because of Josh’s past abuse, the cancellation of the long-running show, the negative publicity the family has been receiving, or all of them. However, after the emotional outburst of the two girls, the sisters remained positive that the family will be able to pull through. They are also excited for what the future holds, including the “milestones ahead.”

The upcoming TLC special will feature the sisters and their families, and will follow their lives on a daily basis.

The Duggars new special, Jill & Jessa: Counting On will premiere on TLC in December.

  • Jessa Seewald Accused of Sinning by Posting Pregnancy Update Photos

Jessa Seewald (nee Duggar) was recently accused of sinning by commenters on a recent pregnancy update post.

“@JessaSeewald isn’t vanity a sin?” one commenter wrote on the former 19 Kids and Counting star’s Twitter update, showing her blossoming belly at just over 31 weeks of pregnancy.

Other commenters weren’t quite as harsh in their condemnation of Jessa Seewald, but they were certainly unkind.

“Do you really need 1,000 people telling you how great you look in every selfie?” one commenter asked.

“@Miss__Tina @JessaSeewald: What else has she got? No job, no real education… Her identity is wrapped up in the approval of others. Sad,” another commented.

“@JessaSeewald Maybe put the camera down and help Syrian refugees? #theChristianthingtodo,” another commenter wrote.

Is Jessa Duggar Seewald coming under fire because of her brother, Josh Duggar’s sexual scandals? Or are people simply looking for reasons to hate the Duggar family?

Since Josh Duggar first made news this spring with his sexual molestation scandal, the media has come down hard on all members of the former 19 Kids and Counting family. After TLC cancelled their show because of the Josh Duggar sexual molestation scandal, things got even worse.

Now with Josh Duggar in a Christian rehab for his “sexual sins,” it seems like people are nitpicking any member of the Duggar family who does something others deem even remotely offensive.

Jessa Seewald still has fans, and those fans likely enjoy the pictures she posts as updates on her pregnancy.

Yet the Bible does say vanity is a sin. In the Duggar family, looking at a woman and experiencing feelings of lust is considered sinful. Jim Bob Duggar even has a code word–Nike–he uses when a woman is coming toward him and his boys on a sidewalk. When Jim Bob says the word Nike, everyone immediately looks at his shoes to avoid any lustful thoughts.

Should Jessa Seewald stop posting her pregnancy update photos if her faith deems vanity is a sin? Or do the members of the Duggar family pick and choose their sins?

  • The Duggars Didn’t Stay for “Trashy” Part of Amy Duggar’s Wedding

The Duggars gathered their huge brood together on Sunday to attend cousin Amy Duggar’s wedding to Dillon King. Jill Duggar Dillard and her family even flew home from Central America, where they are serving as missionaries, to join in celebrating Amy’s big day. Jessa Duggar Seewald–who is boasting a rather sizable baby bump these days– and her hubby Ben were there, too. Josh Duggar didn’t attend, as he is in a Christian rehab facility receiving therapy for sexual sins. His wife Anna Duggar attended, however, along with Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar.

It was only a couple of songs into the reception, however, before the Duggars wished Amy and Dillon well and took their leave. According to People magazine, the Duggars left before the reception went from “classy to trashy real quick.”

Amy Duggar says the former 19 Kids and Counting Duggars left shortly after the music at their wedding reception began, and the real partying kicked in.

“They left right when the music was starting,” Amy Duggar–who now goes by the last name of King–said. “They stayed for two songs or so. It was country so they probably dealt with it.”

Once the Duggars left, the “trashy” part of the reception started.

“The lights went down, the disco lights came up. Everybody kicked off their shoes,” Amy said. “It went from classy to trashy real quick, which was the best!”

“We broke out the bar as soon as my family left. The champagne was chilled, we had whiskey, mixed drinks, everything. It was so fun,” she added.

The Duggars must have caused all eyes to turn in their direction when the lot of them–at least 25 people–left the reception hall at the same time.

Do you suppose Amy Duggar, Dillon King, and their wedding guests had a much better time after the Duggars left?

  • The Duggars: Why They Left Amy Duggar’s Wedding Reception Early

The Duggars gathered their large clan together on Sunday to attend cousin Amy Duggar’s wedding to Dillon King. Jill Duggar Dillard and her family even flew home from Central America, where they serve as missionaries, to join in celebrating Amy’s big day. Jessa Duggar Seewald and her hubby Ben were there, too.

It was only two songs into the reception festivities, however, before the Duggars–Jim Bob, Michelle, and most of their 19 children, spouses, and grandkids–took their leave. According to one source, the Duggars left before the reception went from “classy to trashy real quick.”

Amy Duggar says the former 19 Kids and Counting Duggars left shortly after the music began.

“They left right when the music was starting,” Amy explained. “They stayed for two songs or so. It was country so they probably dealt with it.”

Once the Duggars left, the party got started.

“The lights went down, the disco lights came up. Everybody kicked off their shoes,” Amy Duggar said. “It went from classy to trashy real quick, which was the best!”

The Duggars definitely wouldn’t have approved of the alcohol served at the reception.

“We broke out the bar as soon as my family left. The champagne was chilled, we had whiskey, mixed drinks, everything. It was so fun,” Amy said.

Anna Duggar attended the wedding, along with Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar. Her husband Josh Duggar was no doubt the subject of many whispers at the wedding, as he recently admitted to having an addiction to pornography and to cheating on Anna. Josh was outed during the recent hack of the cheater’s website, Ashley Madison. Josh Duggar had not just one, but two accounts on the site.

Fortunately for Amy Duggar, Josh is presently squirreled away at Reformers Unanimous, a Christian rehab facility that will hopefully help him get his lustful urges in check. Amy didn’t need Josh being the focus of her dream wedding day.

How odd do you suppose it must have looked when the Duggars–all 20+ of them–got up from their tables and left the wedding reception when the music began?

What do you bet Amy Duggar breathed a huge sigh of relief when that happened?

  • The Duggars: Why TLC Cancelled ’19 Kids and Counting’

The Duggars have been front and center in the media since word of their son–Josh Duggar’s–sexual molestations of five underage girls while he was a teenager, hit the media. Now the Duggars are thrust into the media yet again with this week’s announcement that TLC has cancelled their reality show. The network announced on Thursday that they have cancelled 19 Kids and Counting.

According to the Crimes Against Children Research Center, one in five girls and one in 20 boys become victims of sexual abuse. Three out of four young people who are sexually assaulted are victimized by an older sibling or someone they know well.

The American Academy of Pediatrics believes that when a child reports sexual abuse to a parent, the parent or parents must take it seriously. They must also contact a local child protection agency or local law enforcement officials.

That said, it’s hard to know which of these infractions weighed more heavily upon TLC when deciding whether or not to ditch the Duggars from their TV lineup. Were they more concerned with the fact that Josh Duggar is a known child molester or with Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar’s means of handling the situation?

Marjorie Kaplan is the group president of TLC, Animal Planet and the Velocity networks. In a recent interview with the Associated Press, she had the following to say.

“We took it as an opportunity to step further than just ‘How do we protect ourselves?’ and step into ‘How do we protect our audience and protect children?’” Kaplan explained. “Our hope is to do more of that, in a way that’s thoughtful and respectful of the victims of child abuse–in the Duggar family and across America.”

TLC has made plans to feature the Duggars–including Jill Duggar Dillard and Jessa Duggar Seewald, who are both admittedly victims of Josh Duggar’s sexual abuse–in an upcoming special documentary that deals with sexual abuse. RAINN (short for the Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network) and Darkness to Light are both advocacy groups that will be partnering with TLC for the documentary.

The Duggars have appeared on TLC since 2008.

  • Jill Duggar Gives Thanks For Life’s Blessings With In-Laws

Jill Duggar has a lot to be thankful for this year and she decided to do things a little different than normal and spent Thanksgiving with her in-laws.

She shared several photos of the celebration on her Instagram page and also shared some of the many things she has to be thankful for.

“So many blessings to count this Thanksgiving…Mama Cathy is well, best hubby in the world, expecting a son,” she captioned the photos. “God’s mercies are new every morning! #happythanksgiving”

The photos show how much Jill’s tummy is growing and it’s obvious that the baby will be here soon.

While the family seemed to be enjoying themselves in the photos, it was also a sad time for Jill and her in-laws, as they mourned the loss of Derick’s grandma, who passed away a few days before Thanksgiving.

Derick and Jill both shared photos of Derick’s Grandma, as well as kind words about her.

The family is very strong in their faith and knowing that they will someday see their beloved Vergie again has helped them deal with her passing and allowed them to enjoy Thanksgiving in spite of it.

  • Jessa Duggar Takes Overnight Trip With Boyfriend

The Duggar family is strict when it comes to dating, so it should come as no surprise to anyone that Jessa Duggar will walk down the aisle without having ever been kissed.

At 21 years old, Jessa has been dating her 18-year-old boyfriend Ben for several months.

While most couples their age would enjoying dancing and maybe even making out, Jessa and Ben don’t even hold hands.

Jessa recently opened up about dating and her family’s strict rules and said that not only do her and Ben refrain from kissing or holding hands but they don’t even date or talk on the phone without a chaperone.

This ensures that Jessa does not break any rules and remains a virgin until her wedding night.

Jessa isn’t complaining though and is happy to follow the rules. She is proud of the fact that she will walk down the aisle a virgin and get her first kiss on her wedding night.

“They want to wait on the physical stuff until later,” mom Michelle Duggar has said. “They won’t even kiss until they are wed”

The Duggar parents really like Ben and are glad that he and Jessa are dating with the intent to be married.

“He’s the first one she has shown interest in that has a spiritual focus and legitimate calling about ministry work,” Jessa’s dad Jim Bob explained earlier this year. “When a guy is pursuing your daughter, you want to check him out and see if there are any red flags and with Ben, there hasn’t been. He is very sharp. It appears like a match made in heaven.”

While the no contact rule is usually enforced by a chaperone, nobody from the Duggar family was around to keep a watchful eye on the couple when they set out on their recent 12-day overnight trip to Central America. The adventure was a mission trip and Michelle Duggar informed everyone via blog post that there were plenty of other adults on the trip who were acting as chaperones to Jessa, Ben and the other young adults traveling with them.

Many people are expecting Jessa to come back officially engaged and ready to start planning a wedding.

What do you think of Jessa and Ben?
