  • ‘Big Bang Theory’ Actress Succumbs to Cancer

The Big Bang Theory has lost one of its own. Actress Carol Ann Susi, known as the voice of Mrs. Wolowitz–Howard’s (played by Simon Helberg) mother on the CBS show, lost her battle with cancer on Tuesday. Although her voice was always heard and frequently imitated, Carol Ann Susi’s face was never seen on the show. She was a regular Big Bang Theory cast member since 2007.

According to a report from the Hollywood Reporter, Susi grew up in Brooklyn and moved to Los Angeles in the 1970s. She played the role of Kolchak’s secretary, Monique Marmelstein, on ABC’s The Night Stalker. She made guest appearances on shows including Cheers, Doogie Howser, M.D., Mad About You, Just Shoot Me, Seinfeld, and Six Feet Under.

Warner Bros. Television and Big Bang Theory producers Chuck Lorre, Steve Molaro, and Bill Prady issued a written statement about the Big Bang Theory star’s passing.

The Big Bang Theory family has lost a beloved member today with the passing of Carol Ann Susi, who hilariously and memorably voiced the role of Mrs. Wolowitz,” the statement reads. “Unseen by viewers, the Mrs. Wolowitz character became a bit of a mystery throughout the show’s eight seasons. What was not a mystery, however, was Carol Ann’s immense talent and comedic timing, which were on display during each unforgettable appearance. In addition to her talent, Carol Ann was a constant source of joy and kindness to all. Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with her family during this time, and we will miss her greatly.”

Cast members mourned her passing via social media.

The remainder of the cast and crew of The Big Bang Theory–as well as the show’s fans–are no doubt mourning the passing of Carol Ann Susi. She was just 62 years old.

  • ‘The Big Bang Theory’ in Lego Form

‘The Big Bang Theory’ in Lego Form

The Big Bang Theory will soon be produced in a whole new way. Lego announced it’s going to create a set based on the hit CBS show. Following in the very successful footsteps of sets based on Ghostbusters, The Simpsons, and Back to the Future, this latest pop-culture institution will be forever cast in plastic and eventually sold on a collector’s market.

The decision to make The Big Bang Theory Lego set was actually the result of a competition. Akin to a Kickstarter type of project, the ‘Lego Ideas’ program allows Lego fans to design their own sets and then others vote on them. Ideas garnering more than 10,000 votes will be reviewed by Lego. That’s when they get the chance of being made into an actual limited edition set.

The Big Bang Theory Lego set was designed by two people who–during the competition–went by the names Alatariel and GlenBricker. They reportedly had some very stiff competition. Competing sets included an Apple store, the flying train from Back To The Future 3, some educational bird models, and two sets based on Doctor Who. The Big Bang Theory and the bird models were the only ones to make the final Lego cuts.

How do you suppose Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki, Kaley Cuoco, Mayim Bialik, and the rest of The Big Bang Theory cast will feel knowing they and their set will be forever cast in Lego form?

It’s pretty unlikely that the Lego sets will be played with by children. After all, they will come out in limited edition quantities. They will probably be scooped up by nerds (a term used to affectionately describe both adult Lego fans and fans of the show) who collect special edition Lego sets.

Collectors had best stay tuned to Lego for production announcements. They’ll want to scoop up their sets and see how, over the years, they increase in value. Of course there will be those few enthusiasts who will set the little plastic figures up and put together the iconic living room set while watching The Big Bang Theory.

Will you be one of them?

  • Sara Gilbert: ‘The Talk’ Host is Pregnant

Sara Gilbert of The Talk is pregnant. She and wife Linda Perry are expecting their first baby together. This will be the third child for Gilbert, who has two from her previous relationship with Alison Adler. Sara Gilbert and Linda Perry tied the knot this past March.

According to a report from the New York Daily News, it was during a segment on The View that Sara Gilbert shared her exciting news with her colleagues. Refusing to participate in a rather frightening dare–having a bed of nails placed on her stomach–Gilbert spilled the beans.

“I really do believe in facing your fears and doing things that make you uncomfortable, but I actually can’t do the dare because I’m pregnant,” Gilbert said.

Sharon Osbourne, Aisha Tyler, Julie Chen and Sheryl Underwood were all stunned by the news. They could barely contain their excitement as they surrounded the mom-to-be with hugs and words of congratulations.

Cohost Julie Chen tweeted the good news.

Following the show, Sara Gilbert tweeted her thanks for the warm wishes.

Sister Melissa Gilbert tweeted about having kept Sara’s secret, but not needing to keep it any longer.

In addition to her role on The Talk, Sara Gilbert played Roseanne Barr’s on-screen daughter, Darlene Conner, on Roseanne from 1988 to 1997. She is also known for her recurring role as Leslie Winkle on The Big Bang Theory. Linda Perry is a songwriter and former front woman for the band 4 Non Blondes.

Congratulations to both Sara Gilbert and Linda Perry on their now-highly-anticipated baby-to-be. It will be fun keeping up with the The Talk host throughout the coming months of her pregnancy.

  • Jim Parsons Dishes on $1 Million Per Episode Contract, Emmy Nod and Alleged Engagement

Jim Parsons debunked some rumors surrounding the Big Bang Theory contract negotiations between CBS and his co-stars.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the 41-year-old actor said rumors that the cast would leave the show if they didn’t get the money they wanted were a little exaggerated, saying he never planned to leave the show.

“I always thought everything would be worked out by the start date [July 30]. When it wasn’t, it certainly wasn’t a good feeling, but there was absolutely no getting around the fact that everything had to be dealt with and finished before we could get back,” he told Entertainment Weekly. “You see the word ‘strike’—’They’re walking out!’—but there was nothing to walk out from. That’s always hard, because part of you wants to explain to people what’s really going on. ‘Don’t worry, we’re not leaving, we want to do the show.’”

Parsons said people knowing all the details about the big bucks he’ll be making as part of the new contract — an unbelievable $1 million per episode— is a foreign concept to him.

“I came from a family in Texas who simply never spoke about money,” he said. “When suddenly everybody is guessing, or some even getting close, to the ballpark of what you’re earning—well, that’s interesting, that everyone knows what you make. It is what it is, and the job is so wonderful that those minor oddities are well worth the ride.”

Parsons also shared about once again being nominated for an Emmy. It’s not his first, but he says each nomination becomes more meaningful as time goes by.

“To be nominated again for Big Bang, is at least as touching to me, if not more so now, than it was the first time. Look, I’m only human and therefore there’s a part of me that’s waiting for people to say, ‘Enough of you!’”

There have been other rumors surrounding Parsons and his alleged engagement to his longtime boyfriend, Todd Spiewak. Parsons took care of that one in short order himself with a post on Instagram, along with the caption: “Me and Todd in 2003. Still very happy today… And NOT engaged! #justFYI #NationalEnquirerMakesS**tUp #duh.”

  • Mayim Bialik Expands TV Repertoire

    Mayim Bialik Expands TV Repertoire

Mayim Bialik began her TV career by playing Blossom on NBC’s sitcom of the same name. Following her foray into acting, however, Bialik would go on to get her PhD in neuroscience and wind up landing a much more appropriate role as Amy Farrah Fowler on CBS’s The Big Bang Theory. Now, Bialik in an Emmy-nominated supporting actress on TV’s number one show and is a household name. Fortunately, Bialik has not let the stardom go to her head, though, as she is now the host on a much humbler television series, Candid Camera.

Candid Camera first landed on television in 1948 on ABC as a hidden camera show. The show was hosted by its creator, Allen Funt, from its beginnings until 1993. Since that time, the series has been hosted by Funt’s son, Peter, and a plethora of other hosts – the most recent addition being Bialik.

When most Hollywood stars take roles deemed less popular by the general populace, they usually try to draw as little attention to their new position as possible (a la Tara Reid). Bialik, however, cherishes her new role, citing a childhood fondness as the reason for her excitement:

I am very excited to be working with TV Land, Electus, and the legendary Peter Funt on the newest incarnation of the original feel good reality show, Candid Camera. Since I was a child, I have found it impossible to not smile when I hear, ‘Smile! You’re on Candid Camera!’ and I am honored and tickled pink to get to be a part of this amazing franchise.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BlKMPhN1_oQ

While some may think that hosting a gag TV show is far from Bialik’s line of expertise, the Big Bang Theory star sees the shows as a form of science, in a way: “It is kind of a giant social experiment to see how people behave when there’s no logical explanation for why things are happening. It’s fascinating to see how people try to make sense of these gags.”

Candid Camera aired its first episode of its newest season last night on TV Land. New episodes will continue to air tonight through Thursday night, with new weekly episodes being aired every Tuesday night.

  • Kaley Cuoco: Do I Look Like Justin Bieber?

Kaley Cuoco: Do I Look Like Justin Bieber?

Kaley Cuoco got a major haircut back in June that shocked many of her fans. We had become accustomed to Penny’s long blonde locks on The Big Bang Theory.

Now, Kaley Cuoco reveals that she came really close to shaving it completely off in the name of reinventing herself.

Yep, that would have done it.

Kaley Cuoco said of her new look, “When I wrapped season seven of Big Bang a couple months ago, we cut it short that night. I haven’t had my hair cut in over 20 years. I was ready for a change — I felt like I needed to reinvent myself and that cut was awesome,”

Kaley Cuoco added, “And I kept seeing people cutting their hair shorter and shorter, and I thought, it’s only a few more inches, and I talked to my hair dresser and we cut it. I loved it, I didn’t want to stop. I am surprised I did not shave my head.”

The temptation to shave her head isn’t the only thing that Kaley Cuoco has to worry about with the new haircut. Now the Big Bang Theory star is concerned that she might look like none other than Justin Bieber.

“I was swishing my hair to the left so much, I was like, ‘Do I look like Justin Bieber?!’” Kaley Cuoco said. “[But] I feel liberated. It’s like I needed to find myself again.”

But, Kaley Cuoco isn’t one to let what others think get her down. She shared her secret to confidence,

“I’ve fallen victim to worrying about what everybody thinks,” Kaley Cuoco said. “It’s never going to be that everyone is happy. You just gotta know what you like and go with it.”

    Good advice!

Congrats to Kaley Cuoco on her new contract to continue The Big Bang Theory for three more years!

  • Kaley Cuoco and ‘TBBT’ Co-Stars Sign Big Contracts

    Bazinga!

When The Big Bang Theory first aired on CBS in 2007, no one would have guessed the show would be such a success. The show featured relatively unknown or has-been actors and rested upon a trite premise of nerds and geeks trying to exist in the real world. However, riding the waves of success created by How I Met Your Mother, witty writing, and surprisingly good acting, The Big Bang Theory finds itself gearing up for Season 8, with two more seasons already signed.

Shooting for Season 8 has been delayed, though, as producers and executives were waiting for the triumvirate of Kaley Cuoco (Penny), John Galecki (Leonard Hofstadter), and Jim Parsons (Sheldon Cooper) to come to terms with their new contracts. And boy – was the wait ever worth it.

Deadline has reported that the comedic trio has inked deals of epic proportions. While Cuoco and company were never making chump change – depositing $350,000 in their bank accounts for each episode aired, the trio has tripled their earnings through the next three seasons.

That is not a typo, folks. Cuoco, Galecki, and Parsons will each make $1 million per episode for the next three seasons – and that’s before one accounts for all of the bonuses and incentives arranged for in the contracts as well. While the trio is guaranteed $72 million over the next three seasons, that number could go as high as $90 million total with everything included.

The new contract for the three Big Bang Theory stars resembles the final contracts signed by the cast of Friends during its finals two seasons, with Courteney Cox, Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, David Schwimmer, and Matthew Perry each making $1 million per episode.

However, much time has passed since Friends went off the air in 2004, and the contracts of television stars have continued to soar. So, before you get all riled-up about how much money Cuoco, Galecki, and Parsons are making for approximately 23 minutes of airtime, think about this: The highest paid television star is Judge Judy, who makes a whopping $47 million per year.

Makes you a little sick, doesn’t it?

  • Jim Parsons: Nominated for Two Emmys, Leaving Big Bang Theory?

Jim Parsons has been nominated for two Emmy Awards for his role in The Big Bang Theory, however rumors are swirling about a possible exit from the show. Might he take his Emmys and run and leave fans mourning his absence on the hit TV show?

This isn’t the first time Parsons has been nominated. In fact out of the several nominations he has received in the past, he has taken home Emmys for three. In addition to Jim Parsons, The Big Bang Theory has received an Emmy nod for Outstanding Comedy Series. Parsons’ costar and on air love interest Mayim Bialik received a nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series.

Rumors about Jim Parsons leaving the show started last season when his character, Sheldon Cooper, appeared to be exiting the story line. Rumor has it that contract negotiations for all of the show’s characters are currently in a limbo of sorts.

Those rumors along with the one about Jim Parsons leaving the show likely has Big Bang Theory fans up in arms. CBS Chairman of Entertainment, Nina Tassler, says there’s no reason to fret just yet, however.

“We’re feeling very confident that everything will work out,” she said at the CBS portion of the Television Critics Association Summer Tour in Beverly Hills on Thursday. “These deals manage to get done somehow miraculously year after year.”

Can you even imagine what The Big Bang Theory would be like without Sheldon Cooper? Hopefully Jim Parsons’ contract–as well as those of his cast mates–will be renewed once again. Fans will still have to wait a little while to enjoy new episodes, however. The show’s new season isn’t set to premiere until September 22nd at 8:00 P.M.

    Will you be tuning in?

  • Jim Parsons Up For Emmy Amid Exit Rumors

Jim Parsons Up For Emmy Amid Exit Rumors

Jim Parsons is up for an Emmy again this year, and by all accounts, that thing is as good as his. He has been nominated six times, taking home the Emmy three of those times so far. The first in 2010, then in 2011, and 2013.

All those nominations for Jim Parsons’ work on the incredibly popular show, The Big Bang Theory, have him feeling surprised and honored.

“I’m a little floored, I’ll be honest. The very first thing that hit me, and it took a while to sink in was, how lucky am I that I was a part of two different projects that have both been deemed mentionable, if you will, by the peers for this year.”

The Big Bang Theory is also up for (and has practically already won) the Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series. One of Jim Parsons’ co-stars and his onscreen love, Mayim Bailik, is up for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series.

Jim Parsons has also been nominated for an Emmy for his role as Tommy Boatwright in The Normal Heart on HBO. This could be a really big year for Parsons!

All this Emmy news comes at a rather turbulent time for Jim Parsons and the rest of The Big Bang Theory cast. Talk of contract negotiations being stalled and rumors of Jim Parsons leaving The Big Bang Theory are running rampant. Rumors began with Jim Parsons’ character, Sheldon Cooper, appearing to exit the story line as last season ended.

They continue as contracts for leading stars Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting, and Johnny Galecki remain in limbo for the coming seasons.

However, CBS Chairman of Entertainment Nina Tassler says there’s no reason to worry just yet.

“We’re feeling very confident that everything will work out,” she said last Thursday.

“These deals manage to get done somehow miraculously year after year,” she added.

I hope she’s right. I mean, if Jim Parson goes, The Big Bang Theory would fall apart. That’s my opinion, but what is the show without Sheldon Cooper? Just Leonard and Penny. And we all know how that story will likely end, and most of us don’t care because we watch The Big Bang Theory for Sheldon and Amy Farrah Fowler.

Hopefully this will all be settled soon and fans of Jim Parsons can stop wringing their hands and get on with life knowing that come September 22nd on CBS, The Big Bang Theory will premiere with all of our favorite nerds intact.

  • The Big Bang Theory Comic Con Panel To Be Hosted By Craig Ferguson

Comic Con is set to be invaded by the popular TV show, The Big Bang Theory, and the popular talk show host Craig Ferguson, in one popular event: The Big Bang Theory Comic Con panel.

The Hollywood reporter broke the story yesterday, with schedule details: July 25th, 10 to 11 A.M. in Ballroom 20, (that is if you plan on going). Afterward, Ferguson is set to moderate a Game of Thrones panel.

CBS was very excited to be coming back to Comic Con this year, claiming that the panel was “Back by popular demand!” In their announcement, they said the writers of the show are going to be ready to “share secrets behind TV’s #1 comedy, which is coming off its most climactic season yet (a first kiss! an engagement! Professor Proton became one with The Force!). Come to the panel to uncover writers’ room mysteries and learn how intimidating it was to write for Darth Vader. (Answer: Very.)”

Other CBS shows to make an appearance at Comic Con this year will be Under The Dome, Scorpion, and Person of Interest.

Of course, the news wouldn’t be official without an official tweet from the official The Big Bang Theory Twitter account:

For many, the panel will most likely be seen when it hits the internet after the event. For a reminder of what last year’s comic con panel looked like, the following YouTube video is provided:

The Big Bang Theory has been rolling in the awards and nominations lately. Just a few months ago, the 4th annual Critics’ Choice Television Awards nominated the show for Best Comedy Series, Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy, and Best Guest Performer.

  • Kaley Cuoco Nominated For Critic’s Choice, Shows off New Mansion

Kaley Cuoco, the 28-year-old blonde bombshell that plays Penny in CBS’s The Big Bang Theory, is up for a Critic’s Choice Award this year for best supporting actress in a comedy series. She’s also up against costar Mayim Bialik (who plays Amy Farrah Fowler) for the same award.

The Big Bang Theory actually leads the comedy field in nominations for the prestigious award, nominated as well for best comedy series (against Louie, Orange is the New Black, and Veep). The Critics’ Choice Awards will air for the first time on television on June 19th at 8pm on the CW network.

Kaley has plenty to celebrate these days along with her nomination – The Big Bang Theory just aired its most watched season finale in all seven years of the show, and Kaley and husband Ryan Sweeting just moved into their new $5.4 million mansion (previously owned by Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom). Kaley let the cameras inside her new home to show off three rooms that she designated solely to primping:

Kaley says the key to making a place feel homey right away is pictures. “I cover all my rooms with pictures of my friends, of my husband, of my dogs. I think it makes me feel really comfortable, really at home,” she says in the video. Kaley’s former pad finally sold last week for $2.5 million (down from its listing at $2.8 million).

Kaley’s old home was her last tie to her former bachelorette life – now she’s completely committed to the married life. And Kaley and hubby Ryan seem more inseparable than ever, attending a Memorial Day bash on the beach on Monday and showing off plenty of PDA. The couple strolled on the beach hand-in-hand, took selfies, and snuggled together in a beach chair. The couple, now five months into their marriage, are proving the honeymoon phase doesn’t have to end. And why should it? Kaley, armed with her nominations, new home, and new hubby, is taking her time enjoying the good life.

  • The Big Bang Theory Grabs Five Critics’ Choice Nods

The nominations for the 4th annual Critics’ Choice Television Awards were announced yesterday. And it looks like The Big Bang Theory has not lost any steam after seven seasons.

The popular CBS comedy earned five nominations. We’re clearly in an age where cable television programs are starting to take over. The sitcom’s competition for Best Comedy Series includes all shows that are on cable or Netflix: Veep (HBO), Orange Is The New Black (Netflix), and Louie (FX). The Big Bang Theory won the award last year in this category.

Even the actual award show will air on a cable network, The CW, for the first time ever. Cedric the Entertainer is set to host. You can check it out on June 19th at 8 pm ET.

Jim Parsons has also been nominated for Best Actor in a Comedy Series. His competition includes Louis CK (Louie), Chris Messina (The Mindy Project), Thomas Middleditch (Silicon Valley), Adam Scott (Parks and Recreation), and Robin Williams (The Crazy Ones). Louis CK took home the award last year.

Big Bang’s Mayim Bialik and Kaley Cuoco will square off against each other for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy. Other nominees in the category include: Laverne Cox (Orange Is the New Black), Allison Janney (Mom), Kate Mulgrew (Orange Is the New Black), and Merritt Wever (Nurse Jackie).

Rounding out the five nominations for The Big Bang Theory is James Earl Jones. The veteran actor was nominated for Best Guest Performer.

As far as networks go, FX leads all of them with 19 nominations with strong contributions from dramas like Fargo and The Americans. Meanwhile, HBO wasn’t far behind with 18 nominations.

CBS recently reported that The Big Bang Theory is the most watched sitcom in the uber-important 18-49 demo. The show was picked up by the network for an additional three seasons and will run through (at least) 2017.

You can check out all the nominations on the Critics’ Choice Awards website.

  • Jennifer Lawrence ‘FHM’s’ Sexiest Woman in the World

Jennifer Lawrence has been named the Sexiest Woman in the World. Men’s magazine FHM comprises the annual list and just released this year’s honors. In the publication, Lawrence and her new title are referred to as being, “so freaking cool.”

Last year’s winner was mom-to-be and fiancee of Ashton Kutcher–Mila Kunis. This year found Kunis in the sixth spot on the list. Following Jennifer Lawrence in second place is British actress Michelle Keegan. Rihanna is in the third place spot. Model Emily Ratajkowski and The Big Bang Theory’s own Kaley Cuoco fill up the fourth and fifth spots, respectively.

While there are certainly some other noteworthy names on the list–The Voice’s Shakira came in at number 87, Taylor Swift is 27th, Katy Perry in 12th, Miley Cyrus in 79th, and Selena Gomez in 56th place–that coveted title of sexiest belongs to the Academy Award winner.

Can you imagine what kind of comments Jennifer Lawrence will eventually make about being dubbed the Sexiest Woman in the World? She is so self-deprecating and funny, she will no doubt have something either borderline crass or very witty about her new title.

So who has walked in Jennifer Lawrence’s shoes in previous years? Megan Fox did in 2008, Jessica Alba was the Sexiest Woman in the World back in 2007, Keira Knightley took 2006’s title, Britney Spears had a go at it in 2004, Halle Berry in 2003, and Jennifer Lopez wore the crown for two years in a row–in both 2000 and 2001.

The American Hustle star is certainly in good company both on this year’s list of runners up and on the list of prior ‘sexiest women.’

Congratulations are certainly in order for Jennifer Lawrence. Do you think she is the world’s sexiest woman?

  • Kaley Cuoco Cuts Hair for Real This Time

Kaley Cuoco Cuts Hair for Real This Time

Kaley Cuoco may have fooled fans by wearing a wig in a flirty bob hair style, but this time the joke is on them. She actually had her real hair cut into a bob–and it looks fabulous on The Big Bang Theory actress. It was at the Kids’ Choice Awards that Cuoco pulled one over on all her fans by donning a wig before the awards show. It was apparently that faux bob, however, that inspired the real one.

“The inspiration for Kaley’s cut came from us playing around last month,” Cuoco’s hairstylist, Christine Symonds, said during an interview with Us Weekly. “We played with the option of a ‘faux bob’ and we all fell in love with it!”

You can check out what the wig looked like via an Instagram photo Kaley posted on her page.

And now check out what the actual hairstyle looks like–also featured on the actress’s Instagram page.

    She looks beautiful–don’t you think?

Kaley Cuoco couldn’t cut her hair into an actual bob until The Big Bang Theory wrapped shooting for the season.

“She wrapped on Tuesday night, and we immediately got together Wednesday [April 23] morning,” Symonds told Us Weekly. “It was something we had a month to think about and were extremely excited for. As she was sitting in my chair, we were both giddy girls waiting for the outcome.”

Symonds cut Cuoco’s hair to just underneath her chin, and left it just long enough for her to pull back up into a ponytail.

“I knew she was the perfect candidate due to her hair type and texture to pull off such a chic look,” Symonds says, noting that Cuoco was laughing the whole time. “I’m a firm believer that hair should be experimented with—it grows back. With the right style, change is always a good thing.”

It seems Kaley’s husband Ryan Sweeting likes her new ‘do, too.

“Her husband absolutely loved it,” Symonds says.

What do you think? Do you like The Big Bang Theory star’s hair longer or in her new short bob?

  • Sara Gilbert and Linda Perry Tie the Knot

Actress Sara Gilbert and musician Linda Perry are officially married, after a three-year courtship. The couple got engaged after Perry proposed a year ago, and tied the knot Sunday.

Details regarding the ceremony have yet to be revealed, though Gilbert’s The Talk co-hosts are expected to divulge on the particulars on the show, according to a representative from CBS. Gilbert took a week off for the honeymoon.

Gilbert, 39, is best known for her role as Darlene Conner on the ABC sitcom Roseanne from 1988 to 1997, as well as for her recurring role as Leslie Winkle on CBS’s The Big Bang Theory . Aside from being a co-host of the daytime talk show The Talk, Gilbert also created the series. Sara is the little sister of Melissa Gilbert, best known as Laura Ingalls on NBC’s iconic Western series Little House on the Prairie.

Actress Juliette Lewis took to Twitter, vaguely describing the ceremony:

Linda Perry, 48, is best known as the lead singer and primary songwriter of 4 Non Blondes, which saw mainstream success in the 1990’s. Since then Perry has gone on to become a hugely successful songwriter and record producer. Perry has composed hit songs for artists including Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Courtney Love, Gwen Stefani, James Blunt, Alicia Keys and Adam Lambert.

    4 Non Blondes’ What’s Up:

Last April, Gilbert described Perry’s proposal during a broadcast of The Talk – “It’s like the most amazing proposal ever. I’m sitting there listening and I’m kind of daydreaming and I’m thinking like, ‘If I ever proposed to her this would be an amazing way to do it. The people picnicking next to us pull out string instruments from under the blanket, walk over and they start playing (The Cure’s) ‘Lovesong.’”

  • Cosmic Inflation Confirmed by Gravitational Waves

For decades now cosmologists have widely believed that the cosmic inflationary model of the big bang is correct. However, actually proving that has been one of the most sought-after observations in modern Physics. Now astrophysicists have found definitive proof that cosmic inflation helped shape the universe during the earliest moment following the big bang.

This week the scientists of the BICEP2 (Background Imaging of Cosmic Extragalactic Polarization) collaboration group announced that the first-ever direct evidence of cosmic inflation has been found. The new findings could help researchers come closer to establishing the fabled “theory of everything” that might link quantum mechanics and general relativity. The data is set to appear in the journal Nature.

“Detecting this signal is one of the most important goals in cosmology today” said John Kovac, head of the BICEP2 collaboration. “A lot of work by a lot of people has led up to this point,”

Through BICEP and Keck Array experiments performed with the use of the BICEP2 telescope at the south pole, Kovac and his team were able to measure slight variations in the cosmic microwave background (the radiation left over from the big bang). These gravity waves show how cosmic inflation influenced the density of the universe at just fractions of a second after the big bang.

The gravity waves were found by observing the polarization of the light in the cosmic microwave background. The light left over from the beginning of the universe would have been polarized a certain way (B-mode polarization) by inflation. The signals they found ended up being even stronger than the BICEP2 team expected. The researchers spent three years confirming their observations before this week’s announcement.

“The swirly B-mode pattern is a unique signature of gravitational waves because of their handedness,” said Chao-Lin Kuo, a co-leader of BICEP2. “This is the first direct image of gravitational waves across the primordial sky,”

Confirmation of cosmic inflation indicates that cosmologists are on the right track in their research into the beginning of the universe. It also means that the search for the dark energy involved in inflation is not in vain. For many researchers involved in studying the big bang, this week’s new is only the beginning of many new discoveries to come.

In the meantime, the confirmation of cosmic inflation is widely expected to result in Noble Prizes for those involved.

  • Mayim Bialik Defends a Mother’s Right to Breastfeed in Public

On HuffingtonPost Live, The Big Bang Theory star Mayim Bialik offered her opinion about a controversial parenting topic. She advocates and defends a woman’s right to breastfeed her children anywhere she feels necessary.

In the interview, Bialik explained how breastfeeding involves some intimacy that makes several people uncomfortable, but it’s not a sexual act. “Our culture has a very, very bizarre relationship with breasts. Breastfeeding is not a sexual act. It’s an intimate act, and that makes some people uncomfortable, but it’s completely normal to have all of the human hormones that are released when you breastfeed regulating your relationship with your child,” states Bialik. She also gave her views on how the world tends to sexualize not only female bodies, but male ones as well. Bialik believes the world obsesses over sexualizing things.

In 2011, Bialik received backlash after she posted a picture of her feeding her then three year old son Fred on a New York City subway. Despite the criticism, Bialik defends her actions, and any mother who wants to do the same. On her blog Kveller, she, along with other writers, express their opinions and insight on a variety of parenting issues, especially pertaining to attachment parenting, a method of parenting that allows the child to lead. It encourages bonding through such actions as co-sleeping and breastfeeding. She credits Kveller with providing “a safe place for me to speak up to the thousands and thousands of women who parent this way who get people harassing them all the time, and people looking at us funny in every department store or wherever else we nurse.”

In the original blog post, she further addressed the issue by stating, “I never ever believed that I would be nursing a child over the age of 3. But now that I am, I believe when he is done, he will be done. I believe that he will not need to nurse before he walks down the aisle to greet his bride under the chuppah, and I believe that nursing is natural and beautiful and wonderful. I believe in being conscious of where I nurse my toddler and I also believe that there is nothing wrong with nursing Fred.”

Bialik has two sons, Miles, 8, and Fred, 5, with ex-husband Michael Stone.

  • Kaley Cuoco: First Valentine’s Day as Married Woman

Kaley Cuoco enjoyed her first Valentine’s Day as a married woman this past Friday. Do you suppose she and hubby Ryan Sweeting enjoyed the kind of PDA they engaged in during their recent dinner date with friends–as seen in the above video clip? It’s quite likely, actually, given the photos Cuoco-Sweeting shared of the two of them on Friday. She dubbed Valentine’s Day a “gooey, silly love kinda day.”

The two went out for a romantic Valentine’s Day dinner, and it seems they may have kept their hands and lips off one another long enough to actually enjoy the cuisine.

Kaley shared evidence that the two could sit nicely at a table in a restaurant together, as the two enjoyed a fancy dinner on Valentine’s Day. And their table behavior was quite discreet. But don’t worry, fans, you’ll get to see the “gooey, silly” photos, too.

This Instagram picture Kaley–who now officially goes by Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting–shared depicts “gooey, silly love kinda day” at its very best.

She also shared a mushy Valentine’s Day photo with someone she dubbed “the other man in my life.”

Kaley Cuoco only tied the knot with the pro tennis player this past New Year’s Eve. Sweeting proposed to Kaley after they had dated for just three months. She, of course, is best known for her role on The Big Bang Theory. The couple no doubt make a big bang when telling their friends and family members of their wedding plans.

Despite their lack of time together before their marriage, they have no doubt been making the very best of it ever since. Both Kaley and Ryan’s photos depict a couple that is very much in love. May their very first Valentine’s Day spent together as husband and wife represent the first of many the two will enjoy in the years to come.

  • The Big Bang Theory Books Star Wars Actors for Cameos

Sheldon Cooper, Howard Wolowitz, Raj Koothrappali and Leonard Hofstadter’s boyhood dreams get one step closer to reality in an upcoming episode of The Big Bang Theory. TVLine exclusively learned, at the Golden Globes, that two Star Wars actors will guest star on the hit CBS series. Big Bang‘s executive producers Bill Prady and Steve Molaro told the site this exclusive news during their Golden Globes’ red carpet interview.

James Earl Jones, who voiced Darth Vader, and Carrie Fisher, who played Princess Leia, are the Star Wars guest stars visiting the Big Bang Theory set.The actors will play themselves and cross paths with Sheldon. The news of these guest stars hopefully opens up the door for more Star Wars alum to make appearances on the show, because the hilarity that will ensue when Sheldon meets Star Wars cast members is must-see TV.

Not that The Big Bang Theory really needs any ratings help. Last week’s episode drew over 20 million viewers, the show’s biggest numbers for a regularly scheduled show. The series averages around 18 million viewers on Thursday nights.

Despite not really needing help getting viewers, the Star Wars guest stars’ episode definitely will bring the show even bigger numbers, and possibly more award nominations and wins.

The Big Bang Theory lost this year’s Golden Globe for best Musical or Comedy’s series to Brooklyn Nine-Nine. However, the series generally wins lots of Emmys, especially Jim Parsons who plays Sheldon. At the 2013 Emmy awards, Bob Newhart won his first Emmy for guest starring on The Big Bang Theory. The show may bring Earl-Jones and Fisher the same success.

This is exciting news for Big Bang fans. Maybe Harrison Ford will do the next major Big Bang Theory’s guest appearance. He could kill two fandom birds with one stone, the Indiana Jones and Star Wars fandoms.

  • ‘Big Bang Theory’ Stars Push for More

Stars of the CBS hit sitcom, “The Big Bang Theory” have recently sought to begin negotiations with network executives regarding a pay raise for future seasons of the show. The Emmy award winning comedy is about to begin it’s 7th season on September 26th. The show first aired in Fall 2007 and has recently been renewed in 2011 for three more seasons due to an immense level of success. The show has quickly risen to prime-time supremacy throughout recent years and is currently the most watched comedy on CBS. Since the show has branched out, contracting with TBS, the cast continues to reach new heights of popularity.

When it became known that the newcomers to the cast, Melissa Rauch (Bernadette) and Mayim Bialik (Amy) had underwent some ‘favorable salary negotiations’ where their salary per-episode had doubled to $60,000, veterans of the show have cited intentions to begin these ‘talks’ as well. Jim Parsons (Sheldon), Johnny Galecki (Leonard), and Kaley Cuoco (Penny) have collectively decided to approach the show and network producers to demand an increase of salary per-episode.

The trio each individually make $325,000 per-episode as of the most recent episodes. However, after the current deal/contract ends and the crew sets off to begin recording the next two seasons, the three hope to change that number to $1 million an episode. Rumors have surfaced that the remaining cast members Simon Helberg (Howard) and Kunal Nayyar (Raj) will team-up to raise discussions on potential raises also. At the end of the upcoming season the show will have aired over 159 complete episodes and doesn’t show signs of stopping anytime soon.

The series has enjoyed critical success winning two People’s Choice awards for Favorite Comedy, three straight nominations for the Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series, as well as several individual achievement awards among the cast.

  • Johnny Galecki Helped Co-Star Realize she is Gay

“The Big Bang Theory” star Johnny Galecki has been credited with helping ex-girlfriend and former co-star Sara Gilbert come to the realization that she is gay. Galecki and Gilbert dated while co-starring on “Roseanne” back in the 1990s, and Gilbert opened up on her past with Galecki in an episode of “The Talk.”

“So, some of you may know that when I was a teenager, I dated Johnny Galecki for a little while, who played my boyfriend and husband on Roseanne,” Gilbert said. “And I thought he was super cute and had a total crush on him, and we started dating, and he would come over, and we would make out, and then I would start to get depressed.”

Ouch. Knowing your girlfriend gets depressed when you come over has to sting, and Gilbert said that Galecki started feeling bad about it. “I eventually told him that I thought it was about my sexuality and he was super sweet about it,” Gilbert said.

When Gilbert started dating a woman, she trusted her secret with Galecki. “No one knew at the show for years, and Johnny held the secret the whole time, and I just felt like always so scared, if it came out, what could happen. Would I lose my career?”

While some people might expect for Galecki to be offended over his ex-girlfriend saying dating him helped her realize she is gay, Gilbert described Galecki as being supportive, something that holds true even today. Galecki and Gilbert have remained friends from their “Roseanne” years and worked together on “The Big Bang Theory” as fellow scientists. When Gilbert told Galecki she was planning to talk about how she figured out her sexuality on TV, Galecki offered to join her on “The Talk” and hold her hand.

Even though talking about her sexuality was visibly difficult at times during the show, Gilbert said that she wants “to live a true life” and to let everyone know that things do get better after coming out. Since coming out publicly in 2010, Gilbert has had roles on a few TV shows and created “The Talk.”
