  • Blake Shelton Enlists Meghan Trainor as Advisor on ‘The Voice’

Blake Shelton has enlisted the help of ‘All About That Bass‘ singer Meghan Trainor, as his celebrity advisor on The Voice this season.

The Voice’s Battle Rounds started Monday night, with Meghan Trainor offering her advice to Blake Shelton’s team members. She was moved to tears when contestants Brian Johnson and Joshua Davis battled it out, singing Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door.’

Trainor said she lost a friend recently, and that the song really touched her heart.

“Some of the most exciting things that’s happened for me in recent times is seeing artists that I’ve worked with on this show have some success, whether it’s getting a record deal, whether it’s winning an award,” Blake Shelton says of his return for yet another season. “Whatever it is, being nominated for awards those are the things that keep me coming back here as a coach on The Voice.”

In past seasons of The Voice, Blake’s team mentors have included Kelly Clarkson, the Band Perry, Reba McEntire, Sheryl Crow, Little Big Town, Cher, and Michael Buble.

Meghan Trainor appeared on the last season of The Voice, singing her hit song ‘Lips Are Movin’.’ Fans will no doubt love it if she performs one of her songs while serving as a mentor this season, too.

Blake Shelton has won four seasons of The Voice to date. Do you think having Meghan Trainor as his celebrity advisor this season might help Team Blake score its fifth win?

  • ‘All About That Bass’ Singer Meghan Trainor Heads to ‘The Voice’

‘All About That Bass’ singer Meghan Trainor has signed on to The Voice. She will serve as a celebrity advisor for the contestants on Blake Shelton’s team in the singing competition. Trainor and Shelton start rehearsals with Team Blake on Monday night’s episode of The Voice.

Meghan Trainor is no stranger to The Voice. Last season she sang her follow up hit to ‘All About That Bass,’ called ‘Lips Are Movin.” She received two Grammy nods for ‘All About That Bass,’ including nominations for both Record of the Year and Song of the Year.

Meghan Trainor once planned to audition for The Voice, but backed out at the last minute.

Trainor is a bit of a change from the celebrity advisors Blake Shelton has had for his team in past years. Aside from Reba McEntire, The Band Perry, and Little Big Town (all advisors one might expect for Blake Shelton’s team), Shelton’s advisors have included Sheryl Crow, Cher, Kelly Clarkson, and Michael Buble. Meghan Trainor will likely be a big hit on The Voice this season–perhaps even drawing in a younger crowd.

Do see foresee ‘All About That Bass’ singer Meghan Trainor serving as a valuable asset on The Voice? Can she help Team Blake once again rise above the teams coached by Adam Levine, Christina Aguilera, and Pharrell Williams? Blake Shelton has thus far won more episodes of The Voice than any other coach on the show. Will this be another winning year for the country singer?

Fans are no doubt hoping Meghan Trainor will treat them to a performance of both ‘All About That Bass’ and ‘Lips Are Movin” during her time on the show.

You can watch The Voice on Monday and Tuesday nights on NBC at 8:00 PM ET.

Blake Shelton decided to stick to his country roots and select The Band Perry as his team’s guest advisors for this season on The Voice.

The country band is more than qualified to be guest advisors considering they are up for Vocal Group of the Year at the 2014 ACM Awards. And did I mention the band consists of siblings? Yep, it’s true, the Perry’s kept it in the family generating one powerful, country supergroup.

Shelton is quite the coach for the contestants who is up for a whopping six awards at the 2014 ACM Awards. He’ll also be hosting the event with country super-star Luke Bryan. I wonder if they’ll have a little “shake it” competition?

It also looks like Shelton’s wife, Miranda Lambert will be joining the fun-but advising for another team! Lambert will work for team Shakira.

The Voice, which features the return of Usher and Shakira, who will once again sit in for CeeLo Green and Christina Aguilera, premieres Monday, Feb. 24, with a two-hour episode on NBC.
