  • ’19 Kids and Counting’ Cousin Amy Duggar Engaged

19 Kids and Counting cousin Amy Duggar is engaged. Amy is the daughter of Jim Bob Duggar’s sister, Deanna Duggar and Terry Jordan. Amy was born out of wedlock, which was a bit scandalous for the conservative Christian Duggar family a while back.

That scandal was nothing, however, compared to the Josh Duggar sexual molestation scandal that has rocked the 19 Kids and Counting family in the past couple of months.

Amy Duggar is outspoken about her life and the fact that Christians aren’t perfect. She doesn’t share the notion of courting the way Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar’s daughters do, preferring instead to date. She dated Dillon King, in fact, and now the two are engaged to be married.

The 19 Kids and Counting cousin shared her exciting news via Instagram on Monday.

“I’m so happy to announce … WE ARE ENGAGED!!!! He loves the Lord, he makes me laugh uncontrollably, he’s loyal, he’s patient, he’s my best friend! Of course I said yes!! l love you so much! @kingdillpickle #DillandDuggsforever,” Amy Duggar captioned her post.

Amy Duggar’s father’s past has recently come back to create yet another shocking media scandal for the 19 Kids and Counting family member. He was accused many years ago of having not only contracted genital herpes, but to have knowingly passed it on to a woman with whom he engaged in unprotected sex.

Amy addressed the media recently about the scourges in her family’s past–and present.

“Just because I share the Duggar name doesn’t mean my life is perfect!” she said. “God knew my uncle would have a hit show and that somehow I would be apart of it. He knew my parents story would be told. How amazing is that?! Your testimony is everything. Everyone struggles, and sins differently. but Jesus paid it all!!”

Amy Duggar hasn’t announced when she and Dillon King will tie the knot. Do you expect the entire 19 Kids and Counting family will attend the nuptials?

  • ’19 Kids and Counting:’ Jim Bob Duggar’s Brother-in-Law (Amy Duggar’s Dad) Sued for Spreading Genital Herpes

The 19 Kids and Counting gang simply can’t catch a break. The Duggar family now has a new sex-related scandal to deal with in addition to Josh Duggar’s sexual molestation scandal. No, nothing new has happened, but as with the Josh Duggar situation, a long-ago mistake has come back to rear its ugly head.

The year was 1991 and the state was Arkansas. The players involved Jim Bob Duggar’s brother-in-law and a woman whose identity hasn’t been disclosed. It seems Terry Jordan–singer Amy Duggar’s dad–engaged in sexual intercourse with this woman and passed along a very unwanted gift–that of genital herpes. The woman filed suit against Jordan, claiming he not only left her with the incurable STD, but never mentioned she was at risk of contracting it from him. She suffered both outbreaks of genital herpes as well as “extreme emotional distress,” according to RadarOnline.

The woman was seeking a one million dollar settlement. The lawsuit was dismissed about a year later when the woman refused to answer medical questions attorneys for Jordan asked.

In the meantime, however, Jim Bob Duggar’s brother-in-law said he had no clue he’d been infected with genital herpes, but he also refused to take a blood test at that time.

This STD debacle was no doubt brought back out into the media to cause even more shame for the 19 Kids and Counting family. Even though Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar–as well as Jessa Duggar Seewald and Jill Duggar Dillard–went on TV to answer questions about the Josh Duggar case, it surely proved embarrassing for all involved.

Some people want the 19 Kids and Counting family to disappear, and they hope TLC cancels 19 Kids and Counting as a result of the Josh Duggar sexual molestation scandal. Do you think those same folks are hoping that this latest STD scandal will weigh on TLC as they make their decision?

It wouldn’t seem as though the 19 Kids and Counting gang could be blamed for something Jim Bob Duggar’s brother-in-law–who was an adult at the time–did 24 years ago.

Do you think the Duggar family will wind up paying for this scandal?

  • 19 Kids and Counting: Duggar Family Herpes Accusation Surfaces

The Duggar family of 19 Kids and Counting fame can’t seem to catch a break. Even when the show was in its heyday, haters found much to dislike about the family’s seemingly innocent message. Michelle Duggar was disliked for recording robocalls that portrayed transgenders as child molesters. Jim Bob Duggar was disliked for how his wife encouraged others to help their marriage by having sex if their husbands wanted it, even if they felt too tired.

When the Josh Duggar molestation sandal broke, the floodgates opened. Allegations that the Duggar family had covered up the activities at the expense of the victims rocked the 19 Kids franchise so badly that TLC pulled the show from its lineup, with no news as to whether it will return.

The fallout has spread to other family members. Every time an in-law or distant relation of the Duggars posts to social media, it splashes in the tabloids, with fans and haters alike looking for clues as whether the Duggar’s might be back on TV anytime soon.

The latest victim of this is Jim Bob Duggar’s brother-in-law, Terry Jordan. Jordan is married to Jim Bob’s sister and has made appearances on 19 Kids and Counting. Jordan is known on the show for making paintings featuring Bible verses.

In court documents someone managed to snoop up in Arkansas, a woman who Jordan admittedly had unprotected sex with alleged that:

“Terry Jordan willfully engaged in sexual intercourse with the Plaintiff…knowing at the time of the sexual intercourse that he was a carrier of the herpes simplex virus.”

The intercourse took place in late 1991, and the lawsuit in 1992. The woman sued for $10,000 in actual damages and $1,000,000 in punitive damages.

Jordan responded in court documents that he never had herpes, and that a recent exam by a doctor proved he did not. He said the woman left after sex “with a smile on her face.”

The case was dropped when the plaintiff did not show up to court or answer questions posed to her.

Herpes has been jokingly called “the gift that keeps on giving.” This man is now 52 years old. He probably never thought an old, unproven allegation of herpes would end up somehow affiliated with a nationally-scandalized television show.
