  • Jennifer Love Hewitt Billboard Discussed On Conan

Jennifer Love Hewitt appeared on Conan O’Brien, and discussed a billboard for the show The Client List that featured her in her underwear that had to be toned down because apparently someone was offended by her body.

This appears to be the billboard in question (Source: FameFlynet Pictures via StyleBistro):

    (image)

“There was a bit of a scandal with the first billboards,” says Hewitt. “There was another one of me laying down in nude sort of bra and panties, and everybody loved it, watched the show…everybody was happy. There was one group of people who apparently were offended by the billboard, and were not into it….We still don’t know who it was. It happened in a magazine, but we don’t know who did the actual fixing of the photo, but they didn’t ask anybody if they could do it. They covered me up, and they actually made me like a cup and a half size smaller, and then covered everything.”

Conan noted that this was “un-American”.

Hewitt mentioned that nearby was a billboard of David Beckham in his underwear. “Like couldn’t have had a bigger situation in that billboard,” she said, “And he’s out there like ‘Hello!’…I had to have smaller boobs. It was very strange.”

  • Hemlock Grove Season 2 Release Date Unannounced, But Highly Likely

Update: It’s happening. Netflix has made it official.

Netflix’s most recent foray into original programming, Hemlock Grove, may not have debuted to the rave reviews of its predecessor, House of Cards, but it did outperform it in its early days. More people watched Hemlock Grove in the first two days of availability, as Netflix CEO Reed Hastings said during a recent company conference call.

Despite the lack of critical acclaim, people seem to like the show. This is usually how the horror genre works. And in the genre, when people want more, they usually get it. See franchises like Paranormal Activity and Saw (or more historically, Friday the 13th, Halloween, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, A Nightmare on Elm St., etc.).

Netflix has not announced plans for a second season yet, but it’s hard to imagine the company killing one of the early cornerstones of its original programming experiment if it’s getting the viewers. But viewers aren’t just watching the show. They’re already anticipating more. Yes, already (it did just come out less than a month ago). This is no doubt a side effect of releasing an entire season’s worth of episodes at the same time.

Nevertheless, as Yahoo reports, there is a high volume of people searching for the release date of the second season, despite no announcement that it will even happen.

The involvement of Eli Roth (one of the show’s producers, who also directed the pilot) was, without a doubt, a huge part of the interest the show generated ahead of its release, but t’s hard to say how much he would be involved with a second season. He clearly has a lot on his plate (and some of us are still hoping he can find time to make “Thanksgiving“). Still, there’s no apparent reason that Netflix wouldn’t push forward with a new season with or without him.

There shouldn’t be a lack of material, based on reports of Brian McGreevy’s work on sequels to the novel upon which the show is based. Shock Til You Drop reported in April of last year:

McGreevy has a second Hemlock Grove novel nearing completion, with a third fully outlined, so expect at least two more seasons should the series find a following.

  • Hader Leaving SNL When The Season Ends

Bill Hader, known for his impersonations of celebs like Clint Eastwood and Julian Assange, has announced that he’ll be leaving “Saturday Night Live” when this season is over.

Hader is also a popular face in films and has written for “South Park”. He’s also found success doing voice work in films like “Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs”. For now, he hasn’t said what his plans are for the immediate future, just that he feels it’s his time to go.

“It was a hard decision, but it has to happen at some point,” Hader said. “It got to a point where I said, ‘Maybe it’s just time to go.’”

Hader will be a big lose for the show, which has struggled to maintain a consistent audience base in recent years following the departure of Jimmy Fallon and Tina Fey. Besides his impersonations, he also did original characters like “Stefon” and “Herb Welch”.

  • Ron Howard Stops By ‘Arrested Development’ Banana Stand, Tweets Photo

There’s always money in the banana stand.

As you may have heard, some Bluth banana stands have been popping up ahead of the return of Arrested Development. Ron Howard, the show’s narrator, tweeted this out a minute ago:

    Just thought I’d share.

Here’s the trailer for season 4, which will be available on Netflix on May 26th. And don’t forget to check out George Bluth’s reddit AMA highlights.

  • Here’s The Trailer For The Michael J. Fox Show

Michael J. Fox is returning to network television, and his new show, in which he plays a television personality with Parkinson’s disease returning to television, looks pretty entertaining.

The trailer for the show, which is coming to NBC on Thursdays this fall, has been released:

Here’s the official description for the show:

Look who’s making the news again. One of New York’s most beloved news anchors, Mike Henry (Michael J. Fox), put his career on hold to spend more time with his family and focus on his health after he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s. But now five years later, with the kids busy growing up and Mike growing restless, it just might be time for him to get back to work.

Having never wanted Mike to leave in the first place, his old boss Harris Green jumped at the chance to get him back on TV. The trick, as it’s always been, was to make Mike think it was his idea. After several – okay, many – failed attempts, Mike’s family, anxious to see him out of the house, finally succeeded in getting him to “run into” Green. Now their plan is in motion. He’ll be back to juggling home, family and career, just like the old days – only better.

Sold yet? Come on, who doesn’t love Michael J. Fox?

Plus, it has Betsy Brandt from Breaking Bad.

  • ‘24’ Is Coming Back To Fox In May

‘24’ Is Coming Back To Fox In May

24 is coming back to Fox, for at least one more season (though it will only be twelve episodes, as opposed to the custom twenty-four).

In a rather surprising bit of news, the network announced that the show will return in May, complete with Kiefer Sutherland returning as the iconic Jack Bauer.

    From USA Today:

The new season, one of two “limited series” Fox plans for 2014, will be compressed into 12 weeks and premiere next May, says Fox entertainment chairman Kevin Reilly. “We’ll go in chronological order with the hours of the day, but we’ll skip some hours,” he says.

Fans shouldn’t get too attached, as there are no plans to extend the show beyond the twelve episodes, at this point, but who knows what will happen. There was talk of a 24 movie, but the would-be director recently said the project is dead.

24 has been off the air since 2010, after running for eight seasons.

  • Randy Jackson Leaving American Idol, Dog

Randy Jackson, the last remaining original judge from the hugely popular American Idol is leaving the show. Contestants can prepare to hear a lot less “dogs,” (or “dawgs” if you prefer) in their judgments.

Jackson broke the news to E! News, who quotes him as saying:

“Yo! Yo! Yo! To put all of the speculation to the rest, after 12 years of judging on American Idol I have decided it is time to leave after this season,” he says. “I am very proud of how we forever changed television and the music industry. It’s been a life changing opportunity but I am looking forward to focusing on my company Dream Merchant 21 and other business ventures.”

    He also tweeted confirmation:

It’s unclear whether this Ryan Seacrest tweet is related to the news:

Here’s the Instagram pic that links to:

    (image)

Fox has yet to comment on Jackson’s departure, but E! says one of its sources says there has been more chaos with American Idol this year than ever, which likely contributed to the events that have unfolded. There had already been talk that Fox wanted to replace all four judges on the show next season anyway.

  • Saturday Night Live Makes Fun Of Google Glass

You know you have a pop culture phenomenon on your hands when you make an appearance on Saturday Night Live’s Weekend Update, as Google’s Glass did over the weekend.

Tech blogger Randall Meeks (played by Fred Armisen) stops by to show off the device. The skit really seems to be poking more fun at Google’s voice recognition technology than anything. He has a quite bit of trouble getting Google to recognize the Wi-Fi password and the word “Italitan.”

At one point, the device starts playing porn sounds, which Meeks has some trouble muting.

This is certainly not the first time the device has been parodied, but now that it’s in people’s hands, the jokes have made quite the comeback.

  • George Bluth Talks Arrested Development On Reddit [No Touching!]

George Bluth Talks Arrested Development On Reddit [No Touching!]

Jeffrey Tambor, who plays twin brothers George and Oscar Bluth on Arrested Development participated in a reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything) today, discussing the show, among other things.

Arrested Development, of course, is due to return as a Netflix-exclusive series later this month, and fans are champing at the bit to see what the long-anticipated fourth season has in store.

Tambor, of course, fielded many questions about the show. Following are some highlights. If you’re not familiar with the show, you might as well stop reading now, because much of the discussion requires you to be.

When asked about his favorite running theme/joke from the show, he responded, “There’s always money in the banana stand.”

One user asked how the famous chicken dance performed by numerous cast members on the show came about, to which he responded, “I never knew about it until I was asked to do it. And when I’m asked to do it, I do it very badly. I’m the worst chicken dancer of the cast.”

When asked whether he likes playing George or Oscar more, he said, “One side of my brain likes Oscar. One side of my brain likes George.”

When asked if Judy Greer (Kitty) ever flashed him in real life, he responded, “No. And that’s a problem.”

Tambor said it only took about five minutes for the cast to slip back into the AD roles once they started shooting again. “We’re all so used to each other. Our first scenes, we just slipped into it naturally,” he said. “They’re all very fine actors.”

In response to another question, he noted that very little of the dialogue on the show is ad-libbed, and that the writing is just that good.

Of course, he was asked about the long-rumored Arrested Development movie, to which he responded, “I think the new season will promote a great amount of popularity, which will help a movie come into existence.”

On his favorite AD guest star, Tambor said, “They were all great, but Henry Winkler is a close friend of mine, and I was so glad to have him aboard.”

On getting the news that the show would be canceled: “I was sad. I wasn’t surprised, I think we all saw it coming.”

On the most exciting thing about the upcoming season: “It’s new format. The fact that we’re doing 15 all at once, and each character gets to tell his story. We’re the little engine that could, and we came back.”

On his favorite episode: “Gosh, I would have to say that the entire fourth season. I’m just so happy to be back.”

    Hopefully us fans will agree.

Tambor was joined by the co-creators of Onion News Empire, so if you’re interested in that too, check out the thread.

Now watch this recent interview with Lucille Bluth.

Google describes the talk as “a guided tour of the history, chemistry, and technology behind whiskey, Bourbon, and Scotch!”

“He’ll ferment beer, distill moonshine, and talk about how production techniques such as malting affect flavor,” goes the description. “Learn the science behind dark spirits as Anthony helps you master the major styles of whiskey!”

The talk took place on March 4th.

  • “Jersey Shore” Actor Hospitalized For Kidney Issues

“Jersey Shore” star Ronnie Ortiz-Magro has been admitted to an Orlando hospital with a painful kidney stone, his rep says.

Ronnie was in Florida to promote his new alcoholic beverage line, Smush Cocktails, and started feeling pain during a convention. He later tweeted out that he was in the hospital and in a lot of pain, which was followed up by a statement from his reps.

“Ronnie was admitted to an Orlando area hospital late Saturday night,” the statement said. “He’s in a lot of pain and is expected to remain there for several days.”

Kidney stones are usually broken up by laser once they reach a certain size and then passed through the urine stream, but sometimes the patient just has to wait it out and let them pass on their own. No word yet on whether or not Ronnie has undergone any procedures while in the hospital.

  • Yahoo Gets 38 Years Of Saturday Night Live

Yahoo announced a deal with Broadway Video to feature SNL content on Yahoo properties. Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer announced the news herself.
    tw

Mayer added in a blog post:

Matt Foley, Motivational Speaker, or Tina Fey as Sarah Palin? As a lifelong Saturday Night Live fan, it is nearly impossible for me to pick my favorite skit. And, as a fan, I couldn’t be more excited to announce that we have reached an agreement with Broadway Video to feature Saturday Night Live content exclusively on Yahoo! The partnership gives Yahoo! users exclusive access to the entire 38-year archive of SNL content as well as clips from the current season. Blues Brothers, the Coneheads, Church Chat, Wayne’s World, Coffee Talk, Pat, the Hanukkah Song – the list of tremendous clips goes on and on. Saturday Night Live has pervaded and defined our culture for decades.

That’s a lot of SNL. I wonder what percentage of that is actually funny.

The content will be available across Yahoo’s properties in an unspecified format. It’s not available yet. The company says it will announce when it is. More details will likely emerge at that point.

  • Vanilla Ice Goes Amish For New Reality Show

Vanilla Ice hasn’t been completely off the Hollywood radar since his music career hit a lull; he’s starred in his own home renovation series, “The Vanilla Ice Project”, since 2010 and appeared in the Adam Sandler flick “That’s My Boy”.

But the “Ice, Ice, Baby” singer is looking to change up his resume a bit with a new reality show called “Vanilla Ice Goes Amish”, which will premiere on the DIY network later this year. The show challenges Ice, real name Robert Van Winkle, to hang with an Amish community to learn craftsmanship skills from them.

Ice isn’t the only musician heading to DIY; Daryl Hall of Hall and Oates will be doing a home renovation show there as well, as will Reverend Run from Run DMC.

  • Hemlock Grove Now Available On Netflix

Hemlock Grove is now available for streaming on Netflix. The wait is over.

All thirteen episodes of the first season can be found here.

It’s going to be interesting to see if it can match the success of House of Cards, which Netflix debuted earlier this year. It quickly became the most popular show on IMDB.

There was a time when I wouldn’t have expected a horror show to achieve that kind of success, but after the popularity of The Walking Dead, who knows? It doesn’t hurt that Hemlock Grove comes with Eli Roth, who has great respect for the genre, attached. He did, however only direct the first episode and serve as executive producer on three episodes.

The show stars Famke Janssen, Penelope Mitchell, Freya Tingley. See the full cast here.

    Here’s the red band trailer:

  • Netflix’s Hemlock Grove Gets New Red Band Trailer

Hemlock Grove, the next original series from Netflix comes to subscribers on Friday. All episodes of the first season will be made available at once, much like the format for House of Cards.

We’ve seen a number of trailers for Hemlock Grove so far, but today, Netflix put out the first red band trailer, with all of the sex, violence, and language fans of Eli Roth (the show’s director) would expect.

It’s going to be interesting to see how Hemock Grove is received following the success of House of Cards, which quickly became the most popular TV show on IMDB. That’s coming to DVD in June, by the way.

Next month, Netflix subscribers finally get to enjoy the long-anticipated fourth season of Arrested Development.

She notes that the upcoming Arrested Development season is supposed to be a prelude to to the movie, but she doesn’t know if the movie will happen. Netflix has already indicated it won’t be producing more seasons of the show.
