  • Michigan Doctor’s Body Found in Indiana Lake

A woman’s body was recovered from a northwestern Indiana lake Sunday, and has now been identified as that of missing Michigan doctor Teleka Patrick. The cause of death is still pending further investigation, though an autopsy revealed no signs of trauma.

Patrick, 30, of Kalamazoo, disappeared on December 5th, and was last seen in the parking lot of Kalamazoo’s Borgess Medical Center, only to apparently drive to Indiana before vanishing. Later in the night on Dec. 5, police found Patrick’s gold 1997 Lexus ES300 in a ditch on westbound I-94 in Indiana, near the Porter/Burns Harbor.

According to Indiana State Police, divers pulled Patrick’s body from Lake Charles in Porter, roughly 15 miles east of Gary. Police and FBI agents had searched the same lake on January 23.

Around the time of her disappearance, Patrick had been accused of stalking popular, Grammy-nominated gospel singer Marvin Sapp. Sapp came forward to reveal that he’d in the past filed a restraining order against Patrick, and that she had claimed him as her husband, had moved from California to Michigan, joined his church, had contacted his children and had been to his home. Sapp said in his complaint, “I have at least 400 pages of correspondence from her which I have never responded.”

Video of Patrick seemingly addressing a mystery man have appeared online, which might lead to speculation that Sapp may have been the object of the doctor’s cooing.

Regardless of the videos and restraining order revelation, Patrick’s mother has stated that she wasn’t aware of Taleka being involved in any romantic relationship.

Patrick’s family hired private investigator Carl Clatterback, who told CNN that he’s looking into the videos. The question of who Patrick was actually directing her clips to still remains. Investigators believe the intended viewer might have some answers regarding Patrick’s death.

Patrick’s family had launched a Facebook page entitled “Find Teleka.” It has since been changed to “Remembering Teleka.”

  • Body Of Missing Michigan Doctor Found In Indiana Lake

On Sunday, authorities pulled out a body from Lake Charles that was later positively identified as Teleka Patrick.

Patrick, 30, who was last seen in in Kalamazoo, Michigan, had been reported missing since December. She failed to show up at work on December 6 and her abandoned Lexus was found in a ditch the night before. Police, together with search dogs, were dispatched at the location of her vehicle, but they found no traces of Patrick.

It was a fisherman who discovered the body of the medical resident on Sunday. He called the authorities and reported to have seen something suspicious in the lake. According to autopsy reports from the coroner’s office, there was no evidence of body trauma and the autopsy results are consistent with drowning. However, investigation is still ongoing.

Reports from authorities said that Patrick was behaving strangely just before her disappearance. Ismael Calderon, Patrick’s ex-husband, also had worries about his ex-wife’s mental health.

Investigators also mentioned Marvin Sapp, a pastor and Grammy-nominated gospel singer who got a personal protection order against Patrick last year. Sapp said that Patrick visited his home, contacted his children, and even claimed to be his wife.

Patrick also had a few YouTube videos wherein she is shown singing love songs to the camera. In one video, Patrick says, “Hi, baby. I am just coming to you to say ‘hi’ and tell you about my day.” According to Patrick’s mother, she was not aware of any relationship her daughter might have had before her disappearance.

With the discovery of Patrick’s body, some questions have been answered, but more remain unclear. The question that everybody is asking is whom Patrick was talking to when she made the YouTube videos. Investigators are looking into the possibility that the person may know what happened to Patrick.

Patrick’s family released a statement saying, “As we mourn Teleka, we must also honor her; honor the life she led, honor her kind spirit and honor her devotion to God and others.”

  • Teleka Patrick, Missing Kalamazoo Doctor, Accused of Stalking

While her disappearance is undeniably mysterious, Dr. Teleka Patrick’s story just keeps getting more bizarre.

According to CNN, recent reports have been released that Patrick, who went missing Dec. 5, was actually accused of stalking three months prior in September.

However, the plot only thickens, because the person she allegedly stalked is actually a public figure. He’s gospel singer-songwriter Marvin Sapp.

But, that’s not all. Sapp was even forced to file a personal protection order against the first-year resident. The publication shared information exclusively from court documents outlining the details of Sapp’s PPO.

The protection order revealed that the eight-time Grammy-nominated singer had several complaints regarding Patrick’s odd behavior.

Sapp stated that Patrick “has claimed him as her husband, had moved from California to Michigan, joined his church, had contacted his children and had been to his home.”

“I have at least 400 pages of correspondence from her which I have never responded,” his complaint noted.

Patrick’s family has been faced with mounting questions centered around the allegations and her mental state. However, they have dismissed the growing concerns, as their dominant focus centers around finding her. The family did issue a brief statement via Facebook to address the concerns of the media and public.

“We are aware of media reports that are beginning to focus on Teleka’s mental health, and while we encourage the pursuit of honest journalism and truth, we will not take part in sensationalizing Teleka’s disappearance,” the family stated on Facebook.

“We believe that she has met with foul play and wholeheartedly believe that she is in danger,” the statement said.

Investigative reports have turned up little evidence in Patrick’s disappearance. However, the YouTube videos that have surfaced during the investigation have become the crux of growing speculation where Patrick’s mental health is concerned.

The videos feature Patrick talking, flirting and singing to an unnamed lover. Patrick’s mother even told CNN she wasn’t aware of any romantic involvements that her daughter may have had. Then, her ex-husband’s personal account only fueled even more questions.

Examiner reports that Patrick’s ex-husband Ismael Calderon weighed in on the situation briefly giving a synopsis of his personal experiences with his ex-wife. He stated that throughout their marriage he feared that she suffered from a ‘serious mental illness,’ often displaying erratic and delusional behavior.

Patrick was reported missing in Kalamazoo, MI after she failed to report for work on Dec. 6. The night before, Indiana police discovered Patrick’s car abandoned approximately 100 miles south of Michigan.

  • Teleka Patrick’s Disappearance Brings New Intrigue

The mystery of Teleka Patrick’s disappearance is beginning to sound like fodder for a Rick Castle novel.

More and more information about Patrick, 30, the Michigan doctor who has been missing since Dec. 5, has come to light and makes the mystery of her disappearance even more intriguing.

Patrick was issued a protection order in September to stay away from Grammy-nominated gospel singer Marvin Sapp after being accused of stalking the pastor of Lighthouse Full Life Church in Grand Rapids, according to court documents.

The documents allege that Patrick claimed to be his wife, contacted his teenage children and had been to his home. He said she had joined his church after moving from California.

“I have at least 400 page(s) of correspondence from her which I have never responded to,” Sapp said.

While Patrick’s mother told CNN that she had no knowledge of any romantic relationships, two home videos uploaded to YouTube in November show the Kalamazoo medical resident talking and singing to an apparent love interest.

“Hi, baby,” Patrick says in one. “I am just coming to you to say ‘hi’ and tell you about my day.”

In another video, Patrick shows a table set for two with omelets and pancakes.

“If you were here, this is what would be your plate,” she coos.

A third video to surface came from a local hotel in Kalamazoo. That’s where Patrick went the night of December 5, just hours before police found her car in the ditch in Indiana.

Patrick was last seen on Dec. 5 after trying to check into a hotel in Kalamazoo. Her Lexus was found later that night in northern Indiana in a ditch on Interstate 94. In the car was her wallet, cash and identification.

Ismael “Smiley” Calderon, Patrick’s ex-husband says he believes his ex-wife’s own mental health issues, which he says led to their 2009 separation and 2012 divorce, may also be behind her disappearance in Kalamazoo and he fears the worst for Patrick.

“I believe some predator took advantage of her,” Calderon said. “… Or she’s being held against her will, or the worst.”

Calderon recounts incidences of paranoia, delusional perception and accusations of cheating, physical abuse and even physical altercations with Patrick. He tells of an incident where she tried to run him over with her car.

“Finally … the delusions, the paranoia got out of control,” he said.

Raised in New York, Patrick graduated earlier this year with a medical degree and a doctorate in biochemistry from Loma Linda University in California. Calderon says he believes she moved there to be near Sapp.

“To me, that’s the only reason why she would ever go to Michigan,” Calderon said.

  • Missing Doctor Accused of Stalking Gospel Singer

Missing Michigan doctor Teleka Patrick had been accused of stalking popular, Grammy-nominated gospel singer Marvin Sapp, adding to the mystery of the 30-year-old’s December 5th disappearance.

In what resembles a scenario from the defunct CBS drama ‘Without a Trace,’ Patrick was least seen in the parking lot of Kalamazoo’s Borgess Medical Center, only to apparently drive to Indiana, before vanishing. Later in the night on Dec. 5, police found Patrick’s gold 1997 Lexus ES300 in a ditch on westbound I-94 in Indiana, near the Porter/Burns Harbor.

After failing to report to work the next day, Patrick’s family quickly grew suspicious, and launched a Facebook page in hopes of finding any information in her whereabouts.

Now singer Sapp has come forward to reveal that he’d in the past filed a restraining order against Patrick, and that she had claimed him as her husband, had moved from California to Michigan, joined his church, had contacted his children and had been to his home. Sapp said in his complaint, “I have at least 400 pages of correspondence from her which I have never responded.”

Patrick’s family made a statement on Facebook regarding the restraining order revelation – “We are aware of media reports that are beginning to focus on Teleka’s mental health, and while we encourage the pursuit of honest journalism and truth, we will not take part in sensationalizing Teleka’s disappearance. We believe that she has met with foul play and wholeheartedly believe that she is in danger.”

In Indiana, police brought in a K-9 unit in attempts to track Patrick’s scent. The trail went cold roughly 30 feet from where she’d left her car in the ditch. Authorities have said that though there is no evidence of foul play.

  • Gospel Marvin Sapp Was Stalked By Missing Doctor Teleka Patrick

The bizarre disappearance of Kalamazoo doctor Teleka Patrick just continues to get even more compelling as details are slowly uncovered. It appears Patrick, 30, had been stalking gospel singer Marvin Sapp for quite some time. Some even stated that Patrick referred to Sapp as her ‘husband’.  Patrick’s advances had become so overwhelming that Sapp had to take protective measures in order to ensure the safety of his children.

On Friday, Jan. 4, The Associated Press reported court documents that reveal the Grammy award-winning singer had went so far as to file for a protective order against Patrick prior to her disappearance.

The personal protection order he filed actually revealed a lot of things that actually correlate with the ‘delusional’ claims Patrick’s ex-husband has spoken publically about. Sapp’s claims also raise eyebrows about the mystery man Patrick refers to in her YouTube videos. Since Patrick is always talking to the camera, as opposed to a physical person in the video, most are left wondering if there actually is a real person she’s referring to.

According to the Daily Mail, Sapp, 46, revealed that Patrick had joined his church, began contacting his children, and even started visiting his home un-announced. The PPO also stated that Patrick, who started her residency at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo, MI a year ago, actually moved from California last year because of the “Never Would Have Made It” singer.

Sapp won the PPO back in September, and it is effective until March 18, 2014.

Patrick has been missing for almost a month. Her car was found approximately 100 miles north of Michigan in a ditch, along I-94 in Northern Indiana. Mysteriously, her wallet was still in the car. The wallet had her identification and cash still in it.

Local police and FBI are currently investigating her disappearance. Patrick’s family has met with Jim Carlin of Justinian Investigative Services in Battle Creek, MI. The agency will also be working on her case in conjunction with the police and FBI.

  • Teleka Patrick Disappears Without A Trace

Teleka Patrick was last seen in the parking lot of the hospital where she worked, Kalamazoo’s Borgess Medical Center, on the night of December 5. Later that night, police found the 30-year-old’s gold 1997 Lexus ES300 in a ditch on westbound I-94 near the Porter/Burns Harbor exit in Indiana.

After failing to show up for work, the next morning, Patrick’s family reported her missing. “(Missing work) is out of character where she is concerned,” her father, Matthias Patrick, told Nancy Grace on Wednesday. “She is always deliberate about what she’s doing.” Patrick had recently purchased a plane ticked so that she could visit her parents in Florida for the holidays. “We were shocked. Disbelief,” her mother, Irene Patrick, said. Family members say that Patrick had received a suspicious phone call, the night before her disappearance, and they have started a Facebook page in hopes of locating Patrick, and bringing her home safely.

Police then took their dogs to Patrick’s abandoned vehicle, in hopes of tracing her scent. Unfortunately, no trace was found. “We have scoured, searched, and looked at everything we could possibly look at — all the exits, all the businesses, all the hotels,” Indiana State Police Sgt. Rick Strong said. “We posted fliers, we talked to neighbors. We did a full-blown on-the-ground search in the wooded area north of where the car was.”

The FBI has posted a detailed description of Patrick, along with details about her disappearance. The statement reads:

Dr. Teleka Patrick, alias Teleka Calderon (age 30), is a medical resident at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Dr. Patrick was last seen on Thursday, December 5, 2013, at approximately 8:00 p.m. (EST). After completing her shift at work, Dr. Patrick unsuccessfully tried to rent a hotel room in downtown Kalamazoo, and then she was dropped off by the hotel shuttle driver in the parking lot at Borgess Medical Center. Dr. Patrick left some of her belongings at work, to include her cell phone.

On that same evening, Thursday, December 5, 2013, at approximately 10:00 p.m. (EST), Dr. Patrick’s vehicle, a light-gold 1997 Lexus ES 300, was found abandonded off the roadway in a ditch with a possible flat tire on I-94, mile marker 23, in Porter, Indiana. Dr. Patrick’s belongings were in the car, to include clothing items, a wallet that contained her driver’s license, credit cards, and a small amount of cash. Dr. Patrick failed to report to her regular shift at work the next day. Dr. Patrick has not been heard from since this time.
