  • Katie Holmes Opens Up About Life After Tom Cruise, But Won’t Discuss Former Married Life

Katie Holmes did something she doesn’t often do during a recent interview with More magazine. She talked about ex-husband Tom Cruise–or at least her life since divorcing him.

“You’ve got to keep going. In every part of your life,” she said of her life after Tom Cruise, with whom she had a daughter, Suri, before they split in 2012. “Focus on the positive. Stay creative. Go to things that interest you. Do work that’s fulfilling. Challenge yourself. What’s amazing about the human spirit, there are so many people doing inspiring things. If you focus on that, it makes your life richer.”

When asked about her dating life, Katie Holmes came to an abrupt halt, however.

“That’s not something I want to answer…I don’t have a five or 10-year plan. I feel like I’m still a teenager in a lot of ways. I do a lot of things I did then. I paint, I color. I cook sometimes. I still feel like a girl. I don’t quite feel like a woman, maybe because I’m the baby of my family. I’ll probably be 90 and feel like, ‘Not a woman yet!’ Ha!” she said.

Something else off-topic for Katie Holmes was the years she spent as Tom Cruise’s wife.

“Holmes doesn’t discuss that part of her life,” More writer Joanna Schneller said.

The former Dawson’s Creek star is interested in exploring new options in her career, however.

“I feel more creative,” she said. “I feel ready. When I was a young actor, things happened quickly. My second job was ‘Dawson’s Creek,’ and suddenly I was known. I was 18 years old; I had no life experience. I felt, ‘I don’t have anything to bring. I don’t know what it’s like to be, say, really angry. I’m doing the best I can.’ But with age I’ve gained confidence. I understand the kind of stories I want to tell. I have more experience in business. I feel more certain.”

Is it a bit curious that Katie Holmes remains so mum about her life with Tom Cruise? Might she still fear the repercussions of his connections to the Church of Scientology?

It sounds like her life has improved significantly since divorcing Tom Cruise–and hopefully continues to improve. She is focused on Suri’s upbringing, which is her most important role for now.

  • Katie Holmes Lives Life of No Regrets

Katie Holmes was a member of the Church of Scientology when she was married to Tom Cruise. And then there was that marriage to the guy who jumped on Oprah Winfrey’s couch and made an absolute ass out of himself.

These days, however, Katie Holmes says she has no regrets, and that she’s learned something out of just about every situation she’s ever experienced.

During a recent interview for Miami’s Ocean Drive, Holmes talks about her life, including her divorce from Tom Cruise and being the mom of nine-year-old Suri Cruise.

“I don’t regret anything that I’ve done,” the 36-year-old actress says. “I’ve learned from everything, and everything sort of leads you to the next place. I just keep going.”

“I have a very normal life, and I happen to work in an industry that is abnormal. Daily life, I take a train and cab; it’s just about getting from here to there, and I don’t care how I do it. I have to get there,” she adds.

“I don’t shy away from risks,” Katie Holmes says. “I’m just interested in a lot of different things. I don’t even think of it as a risk; I think of it as something exciting and new.”

Not shying away from risks has led Katie Holmes on a path that is about to bridge the gap between actor and director. She is set to both star in and direct an adaptation of author Annie Weatherwax’s novel, All We Had.

“As I’ve grown up, I think that the harder you work the more successful you are,” she says. “From what I have seen, the people at the top, they’re just constantly working and constantly surrounding themselves with other successful, like-minded creative people.”

Hard work is a trait Katie Holmes hopes to instill in daughter Suri.

“[Motherhood] changes you completely in such amazing ways, and I think that you become who you were meant to be,” she adds. “Being a parent also is a source of inspiration to just work really hard. You want to set an example–and, you know, [your kids] are what drives you.”

Katie Holmes has singlehandedly raised Suri for the past two-plus years. It has been that long since Tom Cruise has seen his daughter.

Cruise will one day regret that move, as Katie Holmes continues on in a life with no regrets.

  • Suri Cruise: Tom Cruise Hasn’t Seen Daughter in Over Two Years

Suri Cruise is the nine-year-old daughter of Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise. Katie Holmes has been raising Suri singlehandedly, however, since Tom Cruise reportedly hasn’t seen his daughter in over two years.

PerezHilton.com reports that more than 800 days have gone by since the Mission Impossible star has seen his little girl. They also report that reason behind Tom’s absence in Suri Cruise’s life is his affiliation with the Church of Scientology.

Scientology leaders have allegedly told Tom Cruise to keep his distance from Suri Cruise and Katie Holmes because Katie opposes the religion.

What kind of father allows his so-called religion to prevent him from seeing his daughter? If this is true, it’s an atrocity.

Pictures of Suri Cruise hit the media from time to time. She is almost always in the company of mom Katie Holmes, and doing things normal little girls like to do.

Perhaps it has been better for Suri Cruise not to spend time with her father. When he was seeing her more regularly, he was lavishing expensive gifts and experiences upon her, and turning her into a bit of a brat. Suri had a reputation for being a very rude child–even yelling at members of the press.

Katie Holmes is clearly doing a good job of parenting Suri Cruise. Perhaps it’s best to simply leave well enough alone.

Do you think Suri Cruise is better off not seeing her father or are visits with him something she needs?

  • Suri Cruise Left ‘to Cry on Bathroom Floor’ by Parents Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, So Says Leah Remini in Blistering Tell-All

Suri Cruise was left “to cry on the bathroom floor by her parents, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes. At least, that’s what Leah Remini claims in her new tell-all book.

According to the New York Daily News, Leah Remini, who takes on Scientology in her book Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood And Scientology, alleges that Cruise and his ex-wife left daughter Suri, who was just 7-months-old at the time, crying on the bathroom floor during a dinner that was held just prior their wedding.

According to Remini, she and several other women responded to the infants cries during the dinner. But, instead of assisting the baby, the three women just watched the baby cry.

Remini claims that she finally convinced the women to pick up the upset child from the floor, and they eventually gave her a warm bottle of milk to drink.

Remini further claims that the older children of Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman, Bella and Connor Cruise, never saw their mother because she was shunned by the Church of Scientology.

Remini writes that after asking if she’d seen their mother recently, Bella reportedly told her, “Not if I have a choice. Our mom is a f****** SP.” SP is a term used by Scientologists to describe an enemy of the church, and it is an acronym for Suppressive Person.

The Church Of Scientology quickly responded to Leah’s recent interview with ABC, insisting, via the Daily Mail, that the King Of Queens actress is lying.

“Leah Remini knows the truth she conveniently rewrites in her revisionist history.”

“The real story is that she desperately tried to remain a Scientologist in 2013, knowing full well she was on the verge of being expelled for refusing to abide by the high level of ethics and decency Scientologists are expected to maintain.”

“Her repeated ethical lapses and callous treatment of others led to an ecclesiastical review which resulted in her being expelled.”

“She now regurgitates the tired myths the Church has repeatedly debunked, circulated by the same tiny clique of expelled former staffers bitter at having lost the positions they enjoyed before their malfeasance and unethical conduct were uncovered.”

“Ms. Remini is now joined at the hip with this collection of deadbeats, admitted liars, self-admitted perjurers, wife beaters and worse.”

Leah Remini knew this response was coming from the church.

“I know what my former Church — how they deal with people who tell their story,” Remini said. “And so I wanted to be the one to say it.”

Neither Tom Cruise nor Katie Holmes have responded to the claims that Suri Cruise was left in a bathroom to cry when she was just a baby.

  • Katie Holmes Apologizes For Mistreating Leah Remini After Leaving Church Of Scientology

I an interview with 20/20 on Friday, actress and TV host Leah Remini, shared her experiences as a former member of the Church of Scientology and got emotional as ABC aired a brief statement from Katie Holmes.

On Monday, Remini stopped by Good Morning America to promote her book Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology and also explained why Holmes’ statement moved her.

According to Remini, Holmes had caused her a lot of pain at the time they were still members of the Church of Scientology.

“I regret having upset Leah in the past and wish her only the best in the future,” the statement from Holmes’ camp read.

“I’m smiling because it almost makes me want to cry,” Remini said on GMA. “It makes me emotional because at the time that Katie and this particular crew were writing reports, it caused me a lot of time and pain in my family, being reprogrammed. So at the time I was fighting with her — I guess for the lack of the better word — within the church, and now I know really what she was going through.”

Remini said she is glad Holmes and her daughter, Suri, 9, are no longer connected with the infamous religious group. “…I know now she did what she did, leaving in the way that she did, because she had to protect her daughter, which in a way connects us now,” said Remini who had been a Scientologist for almost 30 years. She left the church in 2013. She also said that she can now relate to Holmes as they are “back to being human,” and said she is not sure how much power Cruise holds in the church.

Although there are stories about what Holmes experienced as a church member and as Cruise’s wife, the actress has yet to disclose details from her marriage. According to New York Daily News, Remini’s new book contains some juicy details related to Cruise’s relationship with Holmes.

  • Katie Holmes Issues Statement via Rep for Leah Remini’s “20/20” Interview on Scientology

Katie Holmes has remained tight-lipped about the Church of Scientology since divorcing Tom Cruise. Leah Remini has become one of the bigger thorns the so-called religion has ever had inserted into its side.

On Friday night, Remini was interviewed during an episode of 20/20, and Katie Holmes issued a statement via her rep for airing during the show.

Per Remini, she was once recruited by higher-ups within Scientology to teach Tom Cruise salsa lessons. While there, she witnessed him forcibly kissing Katie Holmes. When the behavior continued, she told the pair to “get a friggin’ room.”

Leah Remini maintains at that time to diss Tom Cruise was akin to dissing the “religion” itself.

“Being critical of Tom Cruise is being critical of Scientology itself,” she explained on Friday’s broadcast.

Some time later, Remini was invited to attend the wedding of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, but she was instructed to bring along friends Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony–presumably in an effort to recruit them into Scientology.

Leah Remini was later “written up” by church officials and accused of ruining Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes’s wedding because she a.) wanted to sit with Anthony and Lopez and b.) she kept asking about Shelly Miscavige’s whereabouts. Shelly Miscavige is the wife of David Miscavige–the Church of Scientology’s leader–who hasn’t been seen in public since 2007, and who was once a very close friend of Remini’s. Leah Remini later went to the police and filed a missing persons report on Shelly Miscavige. Although it still appears like a huge coverup, L.A.P.D. officials “determined” Shelly Miscavige isn’t missing, although no one outside of Scientology has seen her in years.

Remini also claims she saw blatant disregard for Suri Cruise on behalf of her parents during their wedding reception. The baby was allowed to cry and Cruise and Holmes barely acknowledged her presence.

Did Katie Holmes finally break her silence about Scientology for Leah Remini’s 20/20 interview on Friday?

    Technically, yes.

“I regret having upset Leah in the past, and wish her only the best in the future,” Katie Holmes said in her statement.

This serves only to convince those outside Scientology that Katie Holmes is still terrified to speak out against the organization.

Does Katie Holmes still fear Tom Cruise will try to enmesh their daughter Suri Cruise into Scientology? Cruise’s two children with ex-wife Nicole Kidman are involved in the organization and have little to no contact with their mother, who also left following their divorce.

What does the Church of Scientology say about Leah Remini’s claims?

“The Church declines to comment on Ms. Remini’s childish gossip. We keep communications between parishioners and the Church private. We will state that Ms. Remini continues to exaggerate and embellish events while spinning numerous tales that are provably false,” church officials said in a statement.

Did you see Leah Remini’s 20/20 interview on Friday? Her book, Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology, hits book stores this week.

  • Katie Holmes, Michelle Williams: Daughters Suri Cruise, Matilda Ledger Growing Up Fast

Katie Holmes and Michelle Williams both have nine-year-old daughters, and when the mother-daughter duos showed up in New York this weekend, fans took notice.

Katie Holmes is, of course, the mom of Suri Cruise–her daughter with ex-husband Tom Cruise. Holmes and Cruise shared the stage at the 2015 Global Citizens Festival in Central Park. Katie Holmes served as host of the event.

Katie Holmes encouraged Suri to say hi to the audience. She looked adorable, but shy, in her gray leggings, pink and white dress, and white sweater.

Matilda Ledger is the daughter of Michelle Williams and the late Heath Ledger, who died back in 2008 when Matilda was just a toddler. This mother-daughter duo took in a Broadway play this weekend. The two saw Finding Neverland, starring former Glee star Matthew Morrison. They were spotted posing for a picture with the actor backstage after the show. Matilda was adorable in a tie-dyed t-shirt and cowboy hat.

It’s hard to believe that both Michelle Williams’s and Katie Holmes’s daughters are growing up so fast. It won’t be long before the two are navigating the streets of New York sans their famous moms.

Do you suppose the two might become friends?

  • Suri Cruise: Does She Look More Like Mom, Katie Holmes or Dad, Tom Cruise?

Suri Cruise appeared on stage this weekend at the 2015 Global Citizens Festival in Central Park. Mom Katie Holmes served as host for the event, bringing her nine-year-old daughter up on stage to wave to fans.

This marked the first time Suri Cruise had appeared in public since March 2015, when she joined other famous moms and kids including Angelina Jolie and Zahara and Shiloh Jolie-Pitt at the 2015 Kids’ Choice Awards.

Known for being a bit of a brat in public situations, Suri Cruise used to make faces at the paparazzi and behave in rather unbecoming ways when Katie Holmes or Tom Cruise brought her out in public. Perhaps some time away from the limelight has been good for the little girl?

When Suri Cruise appeared on stage at the Global Citizens Festival on Saturday, one question likely came to many minds. Does Suri look more like her mom, Katie Holmes, or her dad, Tom Cruise.

The photos that have thus far emerged from Suri Cruise’s brief stage appearance likely prove that the answer to this question might result in a toss up. When you look closely at her adorable little face, you’ll no doubt see traces of both her pretty mom and her dashing dad.

What’s your take on Suri Cruise? Are you glad you’ve been spared in recent months from some of her rude, bratty behavior?

And which of her famous parents do you think Suri Cruise most resembles–Katie Holmes or Tom Cruise?

  • Katie Holmes Barely Recognizable As She Stars In and Directs ‘All We Had’

Katie Holmes will make her directorial debut and star in a film based on a book by author Annie Weatherwax. All We Had is about single mom Rita Carmichael and her 13-year-old daughter Ruthie. The adaptation is written by Josh Boone, who directed The Fault in Our Stars.

Early glimpses at filming in New York City will find fans barely recognizing Katie Holmes. Dressed in a short, skin-tight acid washed denim dress, Katie Holmes as Rita is rough around the edges. Daughter Ruthie, for whom Rita barely manages to provide the bare necessities, is anything but naive, and is played by Lovie Findlay.

Producer Jane Rosenthal talked about Katie Holmes both directing the film and playing the leading role when word of its production was first announced back in 2014.

“Katie has such a clear vision for the book’s irreverent, original mother-daughter relationship. Her passion for the material, along with Josh Boone’s ability to tell stories grounded in the comedy and drama of every day, will truly bring these characters to life,” Rosenthal said.

The synopsis of All We Had (the book) reads as follows.

For thirteen-year-old Ruthie Carmichael and her mother, Rita, life has never been stable. Though Rita works more than one job, the pair teeters on the edge of poverty.

In their battered Ford Escort, they head east in search of a better life. When money runs out and their car breaks down, they find themselves stranded in a small town called Fat River where Rita finally lands a steady job waitressing at Tiny’s, the local diner. With enough money to pay their bills, they rent a house and make their own family: tender-hearted Mel, the owner of the diner; the aging owners of the local hardware store whose livelihoods are dwindling; and Peter Pam, the transgender waitress who becomes Ruthie’s closest friend.

Into this unlikely utopia comes a smooth-talking mortgage broker who entices Rita with a subprime loan. Almost as soon as Rita buys a house their fortunes change. Faced once again with the prospect of homelessness, Rita reverts to survival mode, and the price she pays to keep them out of poverty changes their lives forever.

Katie Holmes is busy with both acting and directing All We Had in New York–where she conveniently lives with daughter Suri Cruise–her daughter with ex-husband Tom Cruise. This no doubt makes it much easier for Holmes to take on the dual roles.

No release date has yet been announced for the film. The first photos of Katie Holmes in her latest role have just hit the media, and should fuel some talk about the upcoming film.

  • Katie Holmes Rumors Cause Problems Between Jamie Foxx and Real Girlfriend

Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx rumors have circulated for quite some time now. Starting back in 2013 and resurfacing again just last month, Foxx says they’ve caused problems in his relationship with his real girlfriend.

“No, we’re not dating,” Foxx said during a recent interview of Tom Cruise’s ex-wife and mom of little Suri Cruise. “I’m not the person who wants to be defined by anybody I date. So, even if I was dating someone, no one would know anyway. But it affects my situation because I got a girl who’s like, ‘Yo, who’s this [expletive]?’”

When Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx got together in March to work on an animated series, he found himself having to defend himself to his girlfriend once again.

“The second time [the rumors] happened … we get together to do an animation thing and then somebody flips a picture to make it seem like we’re holding hands. I said, ‘If it was a real relationship, why didn’t they just get that? Why didn’t they get us kissing?’” he said.

Jamie Foxx and Katie Holmes are actually very good friends. Hopefully these rumors don’t hurt their friendship.

“She’s a good friend of mine…Katie Holmes and I had seen each other in the Hamptons, we did this charity thing and she comes on stage and dances with me, along with other people, and for some reason this story takes off…,” he said.

It certainly sounds like Jamie Foxx is beyond tired of these rumors. What once might have seemed trivial is now causing problems with the woman he really is dating.

Hopefully she will come to understand that there’s nothing more than friendship and respect for one another’s acting abilities between Jamie Foxx and Katie Holmes. She must know that when you date a celebrity, there is always the risk of these kinds of rumors.

  • Katie Holmes, Tom Cruise: She’s Angry He Isn’t Part of Suri Cruise’s Life

Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise aren’t on good terms. In fact, it’s reported that the two don’t speak at all–not even on matters regarding their daughter, Suri Cruise. What’s with that?

TMZ reports that Katie Holmes and the Mission Impossible 5 star handle all means of co-parenting through intermediaries. Tom Cruise hasn’t even seen Suri in months, because he’s been in London shooting his latest film.

Katie Holmes has, of course, been front and center in the media of late, with some outlets reporting she’s involved in a relationship with actor Jamie Foxx. Tom Cruise reportedly doesn’t like Katie dating, as he fears the wrong man might be a bad influence on Suri. Cruise is a member of the Church of Scientology. Do you suppose he has hopes of pairing Suri Cruise with a fellow Scientologist when she’s older? Katie Holmes would likely lay down her life before she’d allow her daughter to go that route.

Rumors of a relationship between Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx have run rampant for quite some time now, and it’s really none of Tom Cruise’s business who his ex-wife dates. Surely she wouldn’t do anything to put Suri in harm’s way.

Tom Cruise is supposed to return to L.A. very soon, and will reportedly spend some time with Suri Cruise then. Do you think little Suri will get the third degree from her famous dad about whether or not her mom is seeing Jamie Foxx?

The saddest part of the lack of communication between Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise is that it likely impacts their daughter. Children sense far more than most adults give them credit for, and this could one day come to an explosive climax. Do you foresee Suri staying with Katie Holmes throughout her young adult years or will she opt to spend some time with Tom Cruise once she’s old enough to have a say?

  • Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx: Are They Dating?

Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx have been spotted together again–holding hands and being very flirtatious with one another. Are they dating?

A rumor surfaced in 2013 about Foxx dating Katie Holmes, but Jamie Foxx denied it back then. Have the two been carrying on a secret romance for all this time?

The Huffington Post did their best to get to the bottom of the resurfaced rumor. A rep for Katie Holmes wasn’t able to talk with the publication about their speculation. A rep for Jamie Foxx wouldn’t comment on the matter.

Us Weekly now claims that Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx have spent considerable time together since 2013, but have done their best to stay out of the public eye. What do you think Katie’s ex-husband, Tom Cruise, thinks about her dating Foxx?

Katie Holmes has been single for quite some time now, raising Suri Cruise pretty much by herself. Kudos to her for finding a man she enjoys. Do you expect she and Jamie Foxx will soon go public with their romance? And if it truly is a romance, why do you think they’ve kept it out of the public eye for such a long time?

  • Katie Holmes Talks ‘Dawson’s Creek,’ ‘All We Had’

Katie Holmes spoke with Elle Canada recently, and shared how she never moved past playing Joey Potter on the hit show Dawson’s Creek.

“I don’t know if I have moved past it, but I don’t really care,” she says candidly. “I had a ball doing it, and it’s really nice to be a part of something that did affect people.”

In addition to launching Katie Holmes’ career, Dawson’s Creek launched the careers of some of her co-stars as well. James Van Der Beek, Michelle Williams, and Joshua Jackson all got their big breaks on the WB show.

“It created a lot of opportunities for all of us,” Holmes said.

These days Katie Holmes is enjoying a new opportunity–one of directing a film. Her directorial debut, All We Had, is based on a novel by Annie Weatherwax. She will also star in the film, which is said to be a mother-daughter drama.

“There aren’t as many movies being made, period, so the challenge is to create projects for yourself,” she said during her Elle interview. “Sometimes offers are flying in, and sometimes they’re not.”

Would Katie Holmes consider a Dawson’s Creek reunion show if the rest of the cast members were game? Michelle Williams would love it–even though her character died.

“I would very happily do a reunion show, I don’t know what it would be,” Williams said at a Comic-Con press conference for Oz: The Great and Powerful a couple of years back. “My character died in the end, so there are certain limitations for me. It’s either I come back as a ghost or I’m shot through a lot of gauzy, hazy light as my 19-year-old self.”

CBS News reports that Katie Holmes did in fact express interest in doing a Dawson’s Creek special. How would she ever fit it in between working on All We Had and being a mom to daughter Suri Cruise?

Do you think fans would be excited if the former Mrs. Tom Cruise were to return to the small screen in a reunion episode of Dawson’s Creek? How would a grown up Joey Potter go over these days?

  • Katie Holmes: What Suri Cruise Wants for Christmas

Katie Holmes was a guest on Ellen DeGeneres’s show earlier this week, and talk turned to the holidays. At first the two discussed Thanksgiving plans, and Holmes said she was unsure as to whether or not she’d roast or deep fry her turkey.

Turkey talk has made the talk show rounds this week.

“My mother’s going to teach me how to make a turkey. And she’s thrilled about it! I’m very excited because I’m the baby of five, and I’ve been using that for a long time, but this year I’m taking responsibility,” she said to David Letterman on a recent episode of The Late Show.

In addition to what she told Letterman, she divulged to Ellen that she’d be experiencing her first foray into homemade stuffing making as well.

“I’m really excited about it,” Katie Holmes said.

As everyone knows, Ellen DeGeneres is a huge fan of Christmas, so the conversation soon steered in that direction. Katie Holmes, of course, is mom to Suri Cruise–her daughter with Tom Cruise. Ellen asked Katie what Suri wanted for Christmas.

“She already has her Christmas list ready,” the Miss Meadows star told Ellen.

“It’s written out. She’s very organized and I start to get a little bit of a panic because you cannot screw up talking to Santa. You cannot miss any item on that list, because if you screw that up, that’s years and years of hearing about it—and then probably therapy,” Katie added. “She’s practical. She’s just very specific.”

Those familiar with Suri Cruise and some of her public antics are likely thinking that her Christmas list is filled with outrageously expensive items, when in fact it’s not all that different from many other little girls–except for her sense of organization. As her mom says, she is very organized and specific.

“‘I want a puppy,’ and then, ‘I want a pink collar that has sparkles on it that says the puppy’s name,’ then, ‘I want shoes for the dog,’” said Holmes, who explained that Suri wants a real puppy and not simply a stuffed toy. “‘I want a purple clip.’ It’s all very detailed!”

Ellen DeGeneres sent a gift home to Suri via Katie Holmes–and it might be a bit of a disappointment, coming from the woman who is known to lavish gifts upon all her friends–and many people she hardly knows.

Ellen gave a big plug to her own holiday album, saying it’s “what children love.”

“That is what I wanted,” Holmes said, as she accepted the gift on Suri Cruise’s behalf. “Thank you.”

Are you surprised that Suri Cruise’s Christmas list wasn’t a bit more lavish? Of course Katie Holmes only shared a bit of it with Ellen. There might be many additional items that those outside the Holmes-Cruise household simply aren’t privy to.

  • Suri Cruise Is Reunited With Lost Dog

Suri Cruise Is Reunited With Lost Dog

What could be worse for a child than losing her puppy, especially in a city as big as Los Angeles.

Recently, Suri’s mom, Katie Holmes, took Suri to the Studio City Sanctuary animal shelter, in Los Angeles, where Suri adopted a little dog name Honey.

She has only had her new pooch for about two weeks.

Unfortunately, Honey and Suri were separated and poor little Suri was looking everywhere for her lost pup.

Suri and Honey had been outside swimming together in their pool on Sunday when Katie and Suri had to leave in a hurry.

When they returned home they found the gate open and Honey gone. They believe that they forgot to put her collar on her and that she escaped a short time after they left the home.

Katie and Suri spent the whole week searching for Honey and even made flyers and distributed them all over the city. They were hoping that someone had seen Honey or would recognize her and return her to Suri.

They even offered a $1000 reward for her safe return.

Honey is a tan Chihuahua, who was named Maple while at the animal shelter. Suri and Katie call her Honey, she goes by either name or Maple Honey.

Luckily, Katie and Suri’s hard work paid off and Suri was reunited with Honey on Friday.

The rescue agency, Lucky Puppy Rescue and Retail, helped organize search parties to find the missing dog and posted on their Facebook page that Honey had been found safe.

“Maple/ Honey is safe and sound and in good spirits! Thank you to everyone for your concern and your help is greatly appreciated! Woo hoo!!!!” the Facebook post said.

Honey was micro chipped, so when she was taken to a rescue, it was easy for them to tell who she belonged to.

The identity of the person who found her was not available and it is not known if anyone claimed the reward.

  • Katie Holmes and Suri Move Back to L.A., Rebooting Her Career Post-Tom Cruise?

When Katie Holmes sent Tom Cruise jumping on Oprah’s couch, the world wondered more about Tom’s mental state than about how solid this relationship must be. Then the pair married, she embraced Scientology, and they had a baby. Tabloids angled for pictures, but the honor of much-hyped first photo spread went to Vanity Fair in 2006.

From there, things just got weirder. Tom’s Scientology passions hit YouTube. The public speculated about Katie’s mental state, wondering if she really was as into all this Xenu stuff as he was. Finally, came the split.

Tom was out on a film shoot when Katie made her move, escaping their home and setting herself up in an apartment in New York City. Tom Cruise has reportedly since revealed that Katie left with Suri to protect her from Scientology. Eventually, the dust settled and the pair moved on amicably enough.

But now, Katie Holmes is reportedly looking to get her career back up to speed. And if you’re going to be a movie star, you gotta be in L.A. So that’s what Katie did.

TMZ reports that Katie Holes and Suri have moved to Calabasas, California, where Katie bought a 6,000-square-foot home for nearly $3.8 million.

The mom-and-daughter pair’s new home reportedly has six bedrooms, six-and-a-half baths, an open layout kitchen and living area plan, and lots of hardwood and woodwork. The home is on a cul de sac, not far from Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian.

IMDB reports that Holmes has two feature films, Woman in Gold and Mania Days, coming up, as well as a TV movie.

  • Suri Cruise’s Dog Goes Missing in LA, Reward Offered

Oh no, this is disturbing news!

Suri Cruse’s new dog Honey, aka Maple, is missing! I don’t care if this child has everything a girl could ever want, no child should have to go through the pain of losing their doggy!

According to TMZ, the eight-year-old and mama Katie Holmes recently adopted the female Chihuahua mix from the San Fernando Valley rescue shelter as an addition for their new $4 million Calabasas home in Los Angeles.

Missing signs are posted all around the neighborhood with an offer of a reward for the return of Honey. The poster shows a picture of the cute pup wearing a pink dress and lying on a brown blanket. The notice says Honey is a year old and weighs 10 pounds, and according to the poster, was last seen near Benedict Canyon and Green Acres.

TMZ reports that Holmes has several reasons for purchase of the new Los Angeles home. The 35-year-old actress, who owns a New York City apartment as well, wanted Suri to grow up in a neighborhood similar to the one she enjoyed as a young girl in Ohio, with kids playing in the neighborhood. A secondary motive for the bi-coastal living arrangement is to further her career, according to Us Weekly.

“She’s planning on being bi-coastal,” an insider told Us Weekly. “She really wants to put herself out there and try some challenging projects and the only way to do that is to be out in L.A. for meetings.”

  • Katie Holmes Says Acting Dry Spell Had Nothing to Do With Tom Cruise

Katie Holmes is making a comeback of sorts after a very quiet few years during her marriage to Tom Cruise.

The Giver actress has four new movies completed and awaiting release, including Miss Meadows and Days and Nights, and it seems she is back stronger than ever.

Despite speculation, Holmes says the dry spell was just a normal part of the business and had nothing to do with her marriage to the 52-year-old Mission: Impossible actor.

In an interview with DuJour magazine, the statuesque brunette talked about life after Cruise and her latest acting projects.

Holmes addressed persistent speculation and questions from DuJour that her divorce from Cruise two years ago “helped to bolster her career,” saying neither her marriage nor her divorce had anything to do with the ups and downs of her career.

“It’s the life of an actor,” the Dawson’s Creek alum responded. “We don’t really have a lot of choice in the matter. You have dry spells, and then you have times when there is a lot of opportunity.”

In fact, Holmes said she made the decision to take the time away from Hollywood to enjoy her eight-year-old daughter’s early years.

“I totally admire women who go back to work six weeks after giving birth but when she was little, I was not ready,” she said. “I was a very nervous mother — like, sleeping next to her crib — and I was in that mode for a long time.”

Suri‘s mom took a moment to reflect on how maturing has changed her approach to her craft.

“I think I’ve gotten more comfortable with acting over time,” said the 35-year-old actress. “Early on, I could never get out of my head. I’d be thinking, ‘I have to get the job.’ And even when I had the job, I was afraid that I was going to get fired, or I just had the mentality of, ‘I need to be good enough.’

“The more projects you do, the older you get, the more life experience you get, you start to understand storytelling better, so you’re a little bit more confident going in. You’re not afraid of getting fired: You just want to contribute.”

Holmes is currently filming the Simon Curtis-directed film Woman in Gold. She said it was a refreshing choice to star in a film about “a happy married couple, because it’s rare to see that.”

Holmes says she takes her celebrity status and the inevitability of paparazzi following her every move in stride, and doesn’t change the way she approaches life in New York City.

“There’s definitely an awareness of the fact that people have camera phones, and that your privacy is sometimes invaded, but that’s something that I think everyone has had to adjust to,” Holmes explained. “Even early on, when I was a young actor and all of a sudden people knew who I was, my dad told me, ‘Don’t let that change how you live your life.’ I’ve always sort of approached it that way. You have to continue to do the things you want to do and not let outside forces dictate.”

  • Katie Holmes Dry Spell: Is Tom Cruise To Blame?

Since having her daughter Suri, Katie Holmes has seemingly disappeared from the Hollywood scene. Besides an occasional paparazzi shot, Katie has been MIA, and many of her fans have wondered if her ex-husband Tom Cruise is to blame.

Now, it seems that Katie is having a rebirth in her career and is working on reestablishing herself in the acting world. Katie currently has four films completed and awaiting release, not including her latest project The Giver that is currently in theaters.

In a recent interview with DuJour magazine, Holmes opened up about her marriage to the Mission: Impossible star and her return to the big screen.

“I think I’ve gotten more comfortable with acting over time,” Holmes explained. “Early on, I could never get out of my head. I’d be thinking, ‘I have to get the job.’ And even when I had the job, I was afraid that I was going to get fired, or I just had the mentality of, ‘I need to be good enough.’”

“The more projects you do, the older you get, the more life experience you get, you start to understand storytelling better,” she added. “So you’re a little bit more confident going in. You’re not afraid of getting fired: You just want to contribute.”

Katie and Tom finalized their divorce two years ago, however Katie says she doesn’t blame Tom for her dry spell. “It’s the life of an actor,” she said. “We don’t really have a lot of choice in the matter. You have dry spells, and then you have times when there is a lot of opportunity.”

  • Katie Holmes Reflects on Life After Cruise, ‘The Giver’ and Raising Suri

Katie Holmes is loving life right now.

It’s been nearly two years since the 35-year-old actress divorced ex-husband Tom Cruise, and she is busier and happier than ever.

Speaking with Today show host Matt Lauer last week, Holmes shared about life after Cruise, her role as mother to eight-year-old daughter Suri Cruise and portraying an empty-nesting mother in her new film, The Giver.

“I’m a risk-taker,” Holmes told Matt Lauer of her decision to play the unnamed mother of the hero Jonas — played by Brenton Thwaites — in the movie based on Lois Lowry’s beloved young adult novel. “I love adventures and new things.”

Holmes said it was easy to approach her role in The Giver.

“I approached it like all mothers when their child is leaving the nest,” said the Dawson’s Creek alum. “There’s a pain. There’s a loss. That’s how I approached the character.”

In the interview, Lauer referenced her escalation to superstar status following her marriage to Cruise and asked if she wishes she could go back to the days when she wasn’t the focus of so much attention.

“Do you ever think you would make a deal and trade some of that fame to go back to that person you were beforehand?” Lauer asked.

“You know what?” Holmes replied thoughtfully. “I never really look back. I just approach life [taking] it one day at a time. I’m really excited about where I am right now. I’ve had some really wonderful creative experiences. I’m just really grateful.”

Holmes enjoyed an idyllic life growing up in Toledo, Ohio with a strong, supportive family and says she aspires to give her daughter a similar experience full of the same love and support she experienced, albeit in a very different environment from the one in which she was raised.

“Of course you try your best. I try very hard because I’m very grateful for my upbringing, my parents, my siblings. I try to do what they did for me for my little one,” said Holmes. “The most important thing for me is letting her know how proud I am and her accomplishments mean everything. Whatever I do is whatever. It’s really just about her. That’s what I think is most important.”

  • Katie Holmes Celebrates Suri Cruise’s 8th Birthday

Katie Holmes helped daughter Suri Cruise celebrate her 8th birthday in style. She treated her daughter, along with a few guests, to dinner at Nobu Next Door in New York City on Friday night. Following their meal, the restaurant brought a dessert out to Suri and it was topped with a birthday candle.

That wasn’t the only treat in store for Suri. She was the recipient of many gifts–some from FAO Schwarz–that were delivered to Katie Holmes’s New York City apartment. Bouquets of balloons were delivered throughout the day as well.

In addition, Holmes posted a photo of a dozen frozen cupcakes that spelled out ‘Happy Birthday, Suri’ to her Twitter account. It’s unknown whether Katie baked the cupcakes for her daughter or ordered them in from a local boutique bakery.

Suri Cruise is also the daughter of Mission Impossible and Jerry Maguire star Tom Cruise. It’s uncertain if Tom was around to help celebrate Suri’s big day or if he plans to celebrate with her some other time. Tom Cruise is often away on location for long periods of time, but takes Suri on lavish vacations fairly often.

It’s hard to believe that Suri Cruise is already 8 years old. The little girl who Katie Holmes feared would grow up in the Church of Scientology now attends Catholic School in New York City and is often spotted attending events around town with the former Dawson’s Creek star. While Suri is known for being a little bit spoiled, it was sort of a given that she would turn out that way. It was almost as if both Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise tried to one up each other following their divorce, in an effort to win Suri’s affections.

It was only a few months ago when Suri was spotted yelling at the paparazzi to get away from her and her famous mom.

Katie Holmes has at least stayed grounded and has made a life of consistency for Suri–even if she is constantly privy to many of the finer things in life. It will certainly be interesting to observe Suri Cruise when she is about 13 years old.
