Bindi Irwin Wishes Boyfriend Chandler Powell A Happy 19th Birthday

Bindi Irwin took to social media on Saturday to wish her boyfriend, professional wakeboarder Chandler Powell, a happy 19th birthday.

“Happy birthday to a person who inspires me every day. A soul who makes me smile no matter where I am in the world, despite any amount of distance,” Irwin captioned a romantic picture of her in his arms. “Thank you for the endless hugs, late night conversations about life, holding my hand when a loud noise scares me and laughing along with all my bindi moments. I’m blessed to be a part of your world.”

Bindi Irwin is temporarily making L.A. her home while she competes on Dancing With the Stars. Powell is attending college in Florida. The two met in 2013, when she was asked to take him on a tour of the Australia Zoo. Home for Bindi Irwin, when not competing on DWTS, is Queensland, Australia. Today in her home country–November 15th–is Steve Irwin day, in honor of Bindi’s dad, the late Crocodile Hunter.

Long distance relationships aren’t easy, but Bindi Irwin and Chandler Powell make the best of theirs–typically relying on Skype or Facetime when they are half a world or half a country apart.

The two make a gutsy couple–both loving the outdoors and neither being particularly squeamish.

“Chandler and I love to go have adventures or a picnic in the park. He’s even going to try and teach me how to wakeboard. We’ll see how that goes,” she said in a recent interview with People magazine.

Chandler Powell is known for nursing poor Bindi Irwin’s severely injured dancing feet back to health.

“He was the one helping soothe and tape my feet every day,”Bindi says of her DWTS injuries. “At one point, one of my toenails fell off and flew past him. He said, ‘Oh. It’s a good thing I love you.’ It was just so gross but I felt so bad.”

It’s uncertain whether Bindi Irwin and Chandler Powell were able to celebrate his birthday together and in person, or if the celebration was a long distance one.

Either way, the two conveyed their love to each other.

Bindi Irwin has won the hearts of Americans during her time on Dancing With the Stars. Chandler Powell best not let Americans down. They’ll be watching closely to make sure he continues to treat the sweet, talented dancer well.

  • ‘Dancing With the Stars:’ Bindi Irwin Paired With Derek Hough for Season 21

Dancing With the Stars announced their full lineup for season 21 on Wednesday morning, but all eyes are on the contestant who is sure to be the season’s sweetheart–Bindi Irwin. The 17-year-old daughter of Terri Irwin and the late Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin is a doll, and sure to be a fan favorite.

It was announced during the big Dancing With the Stars reveal on Good Morning America that Bindi Irwin is paired with dance pro Derek Hough. The two will make an adorable couple on the dance floor.

Prior to Wednesday’s announcement, Derek Hough talked about Bindi Irwin at the Television Academy Cocktail Reception for Outstanding Choreography at the Montage Hotel in Beverly Hills, California, on Sunday.

“We are gonna bust out with a kind of on-the-nose song the first week,” the longtime Dancing With the Stars pro said. “I’m in this space right now where I’m super pumped on life right now. I feel connected. I feel great. And then she walks in my life. You don’t understand what positive energy she is.”

Derek Hough added that Bindi Irwin’s lifelong conservation efforts make her even more special.

“I’m trying to figure out what it is,” he said of her very special spark. “I just got off a vacation on a lake, and I was thinking maybe it’s because she’s connected to nature and the animals or something. And if you’re that connected, you feel whole I guess. I don’t know what it is. I love her. She’s amazing. She’s a breath of fresh air. We all need a little Bindi in our life. Seriously.”

It was just last week that Bindi Irwin announced she is a contestant on season 21 of Dancing With the Stars.

“This is going to be more terrifying than jumping on top of a crocodile,” she admitted. “Crocodiles, they are very special because they are modern-day dinosaurs. But I’ve kind of worked with them my whole life, whereas I’ve never danced before in my life.”

Fans can check out Bindi Irwin and Derek Hough when season 21 of Dancing With the Stars premieres on September 14 on ABC.

  • Bindi Irwin Spotted All Glammed Up in Sparkles and Fringe Ahead of ‘Dancing With the Stars’ Premiere

Bindi Irwin confirmed recently she will compete during the upcoming 21st season of Dancing With the Stars. The daughter of Terri Irwin and the late Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin–Bindi was recently spotted all glammed up in both sparkles and fringe–something the 17-year-old never wears.

Bindi Irwin was getting fitted for costumes ahead of the DWTS competition, sporting a glittery little number that was just adorable on her.

“This is completely different to anything I have ever done in my life. I am used to wrangling crocodiles,” Bindi says. “It’s all about having the courage and strength and, for me, it is something completely different but I hope that I am able to inspire others in their own lives to seize opportunity and to make a difference and just jump, take that leap, even if it terrifies you.”

“I just hope my dance partner, whoever it is, is very patient and likes animals, because you never know what I’m going to bring to rehearsal,” she added.

It wasn’t so long ago that Bindi Irwin admitted that competing on Dancing With the Stars scares her more than the crocodiles she works with as she follows in her late dad’s footsteps.

“I have to tell you though, the judges scare me more than crocodiles,” Bindi said during her appearance on Good Morning America. “They are so knowledgeable. They’re supreme athletes. I’m just this girl from Australia who’s used to crocs so give me a 15-foot crocodile any day.”

Bindi Irwin definitely won’t have a crocodile as a dance partner on DWTS. So far, dance pros Karina Smirnoff, Val Chmerkovskiy, Derek Hough, Mark Ballas, Artem Chigvintsev, Allison Holker, Witney Carson, Sharna Burgess, and Peta Murgatroyd are confirmed for season 21.

Steve Irwin would certainly be proud of his daughter. He might be shocked, however, to see her decked out in sparkles and fringe.

Will you be cheering on Bindi Irwin during season 21 of Dancing With the Stars? The new season premieres on September 14.

  • ‘Dancing With the Stars’ Season 21: Chaka Khan, Bindi Irwin, and More Sign On

Dancing With the Stars begins in September with its 21st season, and it promises to be an exciting one. Chaka Khan, Bindi Irwin, Paula Deen, and Nick Carter are just a few of those who recently signed on the dotted line to compete for that coveted mirror ball trophy.

62-year-old singer-songwriter Chaka Khan’s song lyrics from her 1974 hit with Rufus were used to announce that she was joining this season of Dancing With the Stars.

Chaka Khan definitely has the musical experience that will likely put her at an advantage over someone like Paula Deen, for example. It doesn’t seem like being 62 will be a hindrance for the seasoned professional either. Of course she will be up against some much younger contestants, too, like 17-year-old Bindi Irwin.

Bindi Irwin–daughter of the late Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin–says competing on Dancing With the Stars will be scarier than anything she’s ever done. And Bindi Irwin has done some incredibly scary things.

Paula Deen, Nick Carter, Vine star and social media phenom Hayes Grier, and more are already in rehearsals for season 21 of Dancing With the Stars, premiering on September 14.

Bindi Irwin has already been spotted in costume.

Are you excited about this upcoming season of Dancing With the Stars?

Of the contestants named thus far, who is your favorite? Are you already a Chaka Khan fan from the 1970s and supporting her in this competition? Or were you a diehard Steve Irwin fan, so leaning toward supporting Bindi Irwin instead?

The entire cast–and their pro partners, too–will be announced on Good Morning America this week, on Wednesday morning, September 2.

  • ‘Dancing With the Stars’ Season 21: Bindi Irwin Weighs In on Fear

Dancing With the Stars season 21 airs next month, and the late Steve Irwin’s daughter Bindi Irwin is one of the contestants. In a recent interview with People magazine, Bindi admits to her fear of competing on Dancing With the Stars–and she knows fear.

“This is going to be more terrifying than jumping on top of a crocodile,” Bindi Irwin said. “Crocodiles, they are very special because they are modern-day dinosaurs. But I’ve kind of worked with them my whole life, whereas I’ve never danced before in my life.”

It was only days before the announcement about Bindi Irwin joining season 21 of Dancing With the Stars that she was working closely with those modern-day dinosaurs.

“I just got back from the the Steve Irwin Wildlife Preserve,” she says. “We were there on our annual crocodile research trip. We go there for about a month very year studying crocodiles to see where they go and what they get up to.”

Who else is joining Bindi Irwin this upcoming season on Dancing With the Stars? Nick Carter is the most recent contestant announced. Triple-Crown winning jockey Victor Espinoza will compete, too.

Paula Deen will cook up some fun on the Dancing With the Stars–but she’ll probably have to leave out the butter.

Contestants on DWTS tend to come from all walks of life, but it doesn’t seem any quite compare to that of Bindi Irwin–at least not so far this season.

The full season 21 cast of Dancing With the Stars will be revealed on Good Morning America on September 2. The new season of DWTS premieres on September 14 oin ABC.

  • ‘Dancing With the Stars’ Season 21 Cast to Include Bindi Irwin, Victor Espinoza

Dancing With the Stars announced on Monday that Bindi Irwin will be among season 21’s contestants. The 17-year-old daugter of Terri Irwin and the late Steve Irwin, Bindi has worked hard to preserve the Crocodile Hunter’s legacy.

Bindi Irwin appeared on Good Morning America on Monday morning to share her exciting news.

“This is completely different than anything I’ve ever done in my life…I hope I’m able to inspire other to seize opportunities and make a difference,” she said of her upcoming competition on Dancing With the Stars. “I just hope my dance partner, whoever it is, is very patient and likes animals!”

Bindi Irwin is beyond excited about her upcoming stint on Dancing With the Stars.

On Tuesday, Dancing With the Stars announced that the second contestant on this season’s list is Triple Crown Winner Victor Espinoza.

Who do you think will be the third contestant to join the Dancing With the Stars list of season 21 competitors?

More of the Dancing With the Stars cast will be announced throughout the week.

Season 21 of Dancing With the Stars premieres on September 14 at 8 p.m. on ABC.

  • Bindi Irwin Gets Glamorous Style Makeover, Still Loves Khaki

Bindi Irwin, son of the late Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin and mom Terri Irwin, recently got a glamorous style makeover, but despite the new look, she admits she still likes khaki.

The style makeover was for Bindi Irwin’s cover shoot for Australia’s Telegraph Sunday Style magazine. Her new look is trendy, and also age appropriate for the pretty 17-year-old.

“I want to try different styles,” Bindi Irwin told the magazine. “Khaki is a part of who I am, but it’s fun to get dressed up every now and then. Being a bit of a girl is always exciting. You can’t jump on a croc or climb a tree if you’re not in khaki, but I do like different clothes and playing around with it a bit.”

“Khaki is part of who I am, but it’s fun to get dressed up every now and then.” @BindiSueIrwin in today’s #CoverShoot,” the caption of the Telegraph’s Instagram post featuring Bindi Irwin’s cover shot reads.

Bindi Irwin has an especially healthy outlook on dressing respectfully, and she hopes other young people will follow her example. She doesn’t believe girls need to show a lot of skin to be pretty or sexy, feeling she can look just as classy in a pair of jeans and a t-shirt.

Bindi received many comments on a recent selfie she shared on Instagram. Fans were shocked to see her wearing makeup.

“To be beautiful means to be yourself. You don’t need to be accepted by others. You need to accept yourself. “What you do, the way you think, makes you beautiful.” – S. Westerfeld,” her caption reads.

A photo posted by Bindi Irwin (@bindisueirwin) on

Irwin was shocked at the number of responses she got to her selfie.

“I was amazed at how much it exploded–I didn’t expect that,” she said. “I really didn’t ever post selfies before, but it occurred to me, after talking to some friends, how much pressure is put on young people to look and act a certain way. We’re all growing up and changing. I wanted to tell young girls–and boys–to stay true to who you are and not let anyone change you. You have to be able to accept yourself and know you’re gorgeous inside [and] out. It’s hard sometimes.”

Even though most of the responses she received were positive ones, the few negative ones she got hurt her feelings.

“It’s human nature that if you get 20 positive comments and one negative one, you’re going to focus on the negative,” she explained. “We all do that. It can be something that drags you down. It’s easy to get bogged down with it, but I try to concentrate on the good things.”

Bindi Irwin is fast becoming a gorgeous young lady, and she seems like she has her feet planted firmly on the ground. She even has a boyfriend these days. Bindi is dating pro wakeboarder Chandler Powell.

What an amazing example she sets for other young people–especially those all caught up in the world of idolizing Hollywood icons.

  • Bindi Irwin: New Boyfriend Revealed as Pro Wakeboarder Chandler Powell

Bindi Irwin recently revealed she has a special someone in her life, but she didn’t share his name. The late Steve Irwin’s daughter is growing up fast. Many remember her as the adorable eight-year-old, left fatherless when the Crocodile Hunter died suddenly nine years ago. Today she is a beautiful young woman with a boyfriend.

Now that boyfriend has outed his relationship with Bindi Irwin–although it’s possible he did so inadvertently.

Professional wakeboarder Chandler Powell shared a photo of himself with Bindi Irwin, and shared some sweet words, too.

“Happy Birthday to this gorgeous girl! Feel very blessed to have you in my life. Counting down the days until I get to see you again! @bindisueirwin #TotallyGushing #ILoveCamping #ILoveTheOutdoors #ISwamTheCrocPond,” the 18-year-old wrote on Instagram.

Chandler Powell is a very handsome young man. He and Bindi Irwin make an adorable couple.

Mom Terri Irwin has her hands full with son Robert and a 17-year-old daughter, but Bindi Irwin seems very grounded for a teenager.

It was about a year ago when Bindi publicly talked fashion, about how teenagers need to wear clothing that doesn’t flaunt all their assets.

“I mean, for me, I look around at a lot of young girls that are my age, and they’re always trying to dress older,” she said. “Whether it’s wearing revealing clothes or hardly wearing any clothes at all, I feel really bad for them.”

It certainly appears like Terri Irwin has an extraordinary daughter on her hands. Bindi Irwin seems mature and sensible. She is set on continuing her father’s legacy, too.

“Mom and Dad are truly my heroes,” she said during a recent interview. “And I have to say, so is my little brother, Robert. He’s 11, and he’s just the most amazing boy. He’s so much like Dad sometimes, it’s a bit scary. Dad is and always will be my living, breathing superhero.”

It will be interesting to see if Bindi Irwin and Chandler Powell start popping up as a couple at public events.

Do you think Steve Irwin would approve of his daughter’s first boyfriend?

  • Bindi Irwin Sets Wonderful Example for Young Women, Dishes (Sort-Of) on New Boyfriend

Bindi Irwin–daughter of the late Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin and mom Terri Irwin–has changed a lot since her dad’s passing when she was just eight years old. Turning 17 on Friday, Bindi Irwin now has a boyfriend. But it seems as though her famous dad is still by her side–living on in her thoughts and her actions.

During a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, Bindi dished about growing up, and about her boyfriend.

“There is someone special in my life right now, and I’m really happy with that,” she said. “Life is wonderful at the moment.”

Bindi Irwin seems to shield herself with a slight veil of privacy–more than her dad was ever allowed. She doesn’t divulge the name of her boyfriend, and even keeps that private when she posts on social media. Instead she shares memories of her dad, words of kindness and respect for nature, and she displays a maturity that makes many Hollywood celebrities in their teens appear frivolous, spoiled, and–in many cases–vulgar.

Bindi Irwin seems grounded. Terri Irwin has no doubt been a very hands-on mom, working double time in the absence of her late husband.

“Mom and Dad are truly my heroes,” Bindi Irwin said. “And I have to say, so is my little brother, Robert. He’s 11, and he’s just the most amazing boy. He’s so much like Dad sometimes, it’s a bit scary. Dad is and always will be my living, breathing superhero.”

Bindi Irwin sets a wonderful example for young women. Compare her to many Hollywood teens and the fresh-faced, beautiful, wholesomeness she exudes is completely refreshing.

Surely the media will scope out the name of Bindi Irwin’s boyfriend, and they will wind up victims of the paparazzi. But for now, may she enjoy the innocence of young love and a world that is a bit more shielded than that of countless other famous teens. And may she continue spreading her dad’s message of appreciating wildlife and nature.

  • Bindi Irwin Is Growing Up, Dating, And Carrying On Her Father’s Message

Bindi Irwin is almost 17 and she carries her dad with her every day in her looks and in her mission.

Even though Bindi Irwin was only eight when her father died filming a documentary, she still remembers him and carries on his mission.

Bindi Irwin is a lot like every other teenage girl out there.

For instance, Bindi Irwin has a job working with the creatures at Australia Zoo.

Bindi Irwin also has a boyfriend! But she’s not spilling who it is.

Bindi Irwin told ET, “There is someone special in my life right now, and I’m really happy with that. Life is wonderful at the moment.”

Unlike many a teenager, however, she really looks up to her parents.

Bindi Irwin said, “Mom and Dad are truly my heroes. And I have to say, so is my little brother Robert. He’s 11 and he’s just the most amazing boy. He’s so much like Dad sometimes it’s a bit scary. Dad is and always will be my living, breathing superhero.”

Bindi Irwin is passionate about her father’s legacy of wildlife appreciation, education, and conservation.

What do you think of all-grown-up Bindi Irwin?

  • Man Eaten By Anaconda: Animal Activists Outraged Over Man in ‘Snake-proof’ Suit Eaten Alive by Snake on Reality Show

Animal rights activists are outraged over a man’s decision to suit up in a snake-proof suit and be eaten alive by an enormous anaconda constrictor snake.

Self-proclaimed naturalist and wildlife filmmaker Paul Rosolie promises his audience to be eaten alive by the snake in a promo for the Discovery Channel special, Eaten Alive.

Staff at The Columbus (Ohio) Zoo & Aquarium expressed their outrage over the spectacle.

“If this snake would ingest something very large, like a human, and then have to regurgitate that prey or that food, that obviously could be harmful to the snake,” said Tom Stalf, CEO and President of the Columbus Zoo.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) have likewise condemned the stunt.

“This blatant publicity stunt sounds far-fetched, but if the description is accurate, the snake was tormented and suffered for the sake of ratings – as animals usually do when they’re used for entertainment,” PETA said in a statement.

“Anacondas go days without eating and expend the energy needed to do so selectively. Making this snake use up energy by swallowing this fool and then possibly regurgitating him would have left the poor animal exhausted and deprived of the energy that he or she needs.”

Rosolie — who is a naturalist, author, and until this WTH-stunt, a respected conservationist — is likely to see his career take a hit, at least in animal activist and conservation circles.

“What I think is a shame is that his credibility will be just absolutely ruined now, and as we talk about Jack Hanna, Marlin Perkins, Steve Irwin, these are people that explore this beautiful planet, and we only have one, and so the message is to protect that planet and learn about conservations,” Stalf said.

Eaten Alive is set to air 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7, on the Discovery Channel.

  • Bindi Irwin Turns Sweet 16: Is She Dating a 24-Year-Old?

Bindi Irwin, the daughter of Terri Irwin and the late Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin, just recently enjoyed her ‘Sweet Sixteen’ birthday celebration. Is she dating someone who is eight years her senior? Rumors say she is dating 24-year-old British hunk Luke Reavley, who is employed by the Irwin family as their executive assistant.

“Absolute nonsense,” is the reply given by a rep for the Australia Zoo.

The pair were reportedly spotted together recently at Splendour in the Grass–an annual Australian music festival.

“He was being very protective towards her and looked at her with such adoration,” a source said.

Bindi Irwin even posted a picture of herself with Luke Reavley to her Instagram account, wishing him a very happy birthday, and calling him her ‘greatest friend.’

“Wishing @lukasthegreat a very happy birthday…it was yesterday…but we were all celebrating and I forgot to let everyone know here on Instagram! So happy birthday and thank you for being the greatest friend. #BlissfulAfternoons Have fun and see you soon!” is how Bindi Irwin captioned her photo.

Earlier, Bindi posted this Instagram account of a hike she took with Luke Reavley.

She captioned this one, “Welcome to Australia.”

Before Jake Reavley was employed as the Irwin family’s executive assistant, he reportedly worked with the elephants at the Australia Zoo.

Do you think Terri Irwin would allow her just-turned-16-year-old daughter to date a man eight years older than she is? And what would the late Steve Irwin think?

Might this simply be pure conjecture on behalf of the media or is Bindi Irwin really seeing a guy who is 24?

  • Bindi Irwin Wants Teens To Dress Their Age

Bindi Irwin, the daughter of the late Steve Irwin who was killed in 2006 by a stingray barb, is constantly advocating for something. Whether it be animal rights or human overpopulation, Bindi is known for taking a strong stance on the issues and voicing her opinions.

Now, Bindi has set her sights on a new problem and is hoping to make a change. It is no secret that teenage girls tend to dress more and more provocatively in this day and time. Bindi, who is getting ready to turn 16, is advising young girls to dress their age and stop showing so much skin.

Bindi has been seen, for most of her life, wearing her khaki zoo uniform. However, as she is growing older she is starting to experiment and walk more on the “girly” side.

“I guess for me, because I wear khaki so much — waking up every day at the zoo, you just kind of grab your khaki uniform and you’re pretty much good to go — that when I get out of khaki I like to experiment and see how things go,” Irwin said.

“I suppose the last year or so really I’ve been starting to have some fun and see what I can do with make-up and wardrobe and be a little bit of a girlie girl,” she added. “Finding that great line between comfort and looking semi-good is fantastic.”

Although she is dressing more feminine, Bindi says she still wants to dress her age and wants other girls to do the same. “I’m a big advocate for young girls dressing their age,” Bindi said. “I mean, for me, I look around at a lot of young girls that are my age and they’re always trying to dress older. Whether it’s wearing revealing clothes or hardly wearing any clothes at all, I feel really bad for them. It kind of has the opposite effect in some ways … it kind of does the opposite where it makes you look younger and like you’re trying too hard.”

Bindi has some special advice for young girls.

“I almost wish I could tell young girls, ‘look, in 10 years when you look back at yourself, you’ll cringe honey, honestly’,” she said. “A lot of times I want to grab these girls and say ‘look … in 10 years you’ll regret this. Just dress like who you are. Don’t try so hard. A pair of jeans and a T-shirt is just as gorgeous and even makes you look classier’.”

“I look at adults and they say ‘when I was young I was wearing blue eye shadow’ and I’m cringing,” Bindi continued. “So to be able to have that outlook on life is such a blessing and I’ve gotten that from my mum especially. The way I choose to dress, I want to influence other people around me I suppose.”

  • Bindi Irwin Advises Girls to ‘Dress Your Age’

Bindi Irwin has something to say about young girls her age who bare a little more than they really should.

In a recent interview with News Corp Australia, via the Daily Mail, the daughter of the late Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin cautioned girls her age about their fashion choices, advising them to be more modest in their attire.

The 15-year-old said she believes girls who dress too provocatively may end up regretting their fashion choices later on.

“I’m a big advocate for young girls dressing their age,” said Irwin. “I mean, for me, I look around at a lot of young girls that are my age and they’re always trying to dress older. Whether it’s wearing revealing clothes or hardly wearing any clothes at all, I feel really bad for them. It kind of has the opposite effect in some ways.”

“I almost wish I could tell young girls, ‘Look, in 10 years when you look back at yourself, you’ll cringe, honey, honestly,’” said Irwin.

The Return to Nim’s Island star advised her peers to “dress like you are,” and “Don’t try so hard. A pair of jeans and a T-shirt is just as gorgeous and even makes you look classier.”

Irwin said similar advice she received from her mom, Terri Irwin, has been a “blessing.”

“To be able to have that outlook on life is such a blessing,” Bindi said of her mom. “I’ve gotten that from my mum especially. The way I choose to dress, I want to influence other people around me, I suppose.”

The animal rights advocate is obviously mature beyond her years. She concedes that she is an old soul.

“My mum and I, we were playing this game, how old would you be if you didn’t know how old you really are?” she said. “Like how old is your soul? And I said ‘I’d be 86.’ I love a cup of tea and a good book and none of that [other stuff] really interests me… I guess growing up at [the] Australia Zoo and getting to travel all over the world, I have this great outlook on life and that’s what I hope I inspire other kids to have.”

  • Bindi Irwin Incites Feud With Fashion Advice

Bindi Irwin, the 15-year-old daughter of the late Australian wildlife expert Steve Irwin, has remained in the spotlight over the years due to continuing her father’s work and for beginning an acting career. However, Irwin may have gotten herself in an unsavory spotlight recently due to several comments she made concerning the outfit choices of teenage girls.

In an interview with News Corp Australia, Irwin revealed her opinion on the current fashion stylings of other girls her age:

I’m a big advocate for young girls dressing their age.I mean, for me, I look around at a lot of young girls that are my age and they’re always trying to dress older. Whether it’s wearing revealing clothes or hardly wearing any clothes at all, I feel really bad for them. It kind of has the opposite effect in some ways … it kind of does the opposite where it makes you look younger and like you’re trying too hard… I almost wish I could tell young girls, ‘look, in 10 years when you look back at yourself, you’ll cringe honey, honestly’. A lot of times I want to grab these girls and say ‘look … in 10 years you’ll regret this. Just dress like who you are. Don’t try so hard. A pair of jeans and a T-shirt is just as gorgeous and even makes you look classier’… The way I choose to dress, I want to influence other people around me I suppose.

Perhaps Irwin’s fashion stylings derive from her 86-year-old soul, or perhaps it is due to her having to wear khaki outfits everyday of her life. Whatever the reason, former Neighbours star and current Reign actress Caitlin Stasey took offense to Irwin’s comments, launching a social media battle the media relished:

Stasey’s animosity toward Irwin stems from her outspoken and vehement feminist beliefs. If one takes a glance at Stasey’s twitter feed, one can see how much she supports the #YesAllWomen and #FreetheNipple campaigns.

After all of the commotion caused by the media, however, it quickly became apparent that Stasey was more upset with the media’s interpretations of her feud with Irwin than Irwin’s actual comments:

To show that it was not Irwin she was upset with, Stasey took to social media to issue a peace-offering to Irwin:

Throughout the ordeal, Irwin has decided to participate in the exchange indirectly through the use of applicable quotations and aphorisms:

Whatever the means of voicing one’s opinion, the position of both sides can be summed up through one Instagram post from Irwin herself:

  • Steve Irwin’s Final Words Revealed

    Steve Irwin’s Final Words Revealed

Steve Irwin, known to most as the ‘Crocodile Hunter’, was killed by the stings from a barb of a large stingray in 2006.

In his first interview since the fatal accident, Justin Lyons, Irwin’s camera man, has opened up about Irwin’s final moments, including his final words … “I’m dying.”

“He just sort of calmly looked at me and said, ‘I’m dying,’ Lyons recalled to the Australian talk show Studio 10. Ironically, Lyons explained that they were eight days into filming a new documentary titled Ocean’s Deadliest. They were looking for tiger sharks, when the stingray approached them.

The stingray was calm at first, but when Irwin moved behind it, it started thrashing its tail, hitting Irwin hundreds of times within a few seconds. “All of a sudden, it propped on its front and started stabbing wildly with its tail, hundreds of strikes within a few seconds,” Lyons said. “It probably thought Steve’s shadow was a tiger shark, which feeds on them very regularly, so it started attacking.”

Lyons said that he did not immediately realize that Irwin had been injured until he saw him standing in a pool of blood. The barb had gone through his chest. “He thought it had punctured his lung, and he stood up and screamed, ‘It’s punctured me lung!’”

Lyons explained that he and the other crew members got Irwin into the inflatable boat and preformed CPR for over an hour. Upon their arrival, medics immediately pronounced him dead. The entire scene was filmed, but Lyons said that he did not know what happened to it, and never wanted to see it.

“I was saying to him things like ‘think of your kids Steve, hang on, hang on, hang on,’” Lyons said. “He calmly looked up at me and said ‘I’m dying.” And that was the last thing he said.”

Irwin left a legacy when he passed away, and his daughter Bindi Irwin is adamant about following in her father’s footsteps. She announced last week that she was partnering with SeaWorld to help kids get involved with animals and wildlife.

  • Bindi Irwin, Steve Irwin’s Daughter, Facing Backlash For SeaWorld Partnership

After all of the problems that SeaWorld has had since the release of the groundbreaking documentary Blackfish, it is surprising that someone like Bindi Irwin would want to be involved with the organization in any way.

Bindi Irwin is the 15-year-old daughter of the late Steve Irwin, who spent his life working with wild animals, and eventually died while on the job. She recently appeared on Good Morning America, along with her brother and mother, in order to announce that she would be partnering with SeaWorld as their youth ambassador.

The Irwin family was interviewed by Robin Roberts on the show, and while people watching it may certainly have been thinking it, the controversial practices revolving around the dangers of keeping orcas captive was not discussed during the interview.

Bindi’s work with SeaWorld will include an initiative called Generation Nature, which she says is “all about encouraging kids to get involved and be game-changers for wildlife in wild places.” Given that whales at SeaWorld are no longer in a wild place, the amusement park may be an odd location for this type of an initiative.

After losing their reputation for most people as an attractive place for families to go, and expose their kids to the entertainment that the whales provide, perhaps this is SeaWorld’s effort to get people back on their side.

However, some people are certainly able to see past this, and her partnership with the park that has been dubbed an “abusement park,” has received great backlash from animal rights groups such as PETA. A petition has been started already in order to urge Bindi Irwin not to collaborate with SeaWorld.

In a strong statement from PETA, the organization said “What millions have realized—through PETA’s massive campaign and the hit documentary Blackfish—is that SeaWorld is no place for anyone who truly cares about animals. Bindi’s talk-show appearances are just a flimsy last-ditch effort by an abusement park hoping to make a buck.”

The SeaWorld organization has been boycotted by a large number of celebrities, including several musical acts such as Martina McBride, REO Speedwagon and more, who were booked to play a concert series. They all backed out after being petitioned by animal rights activists and ordinary citizens, who told them not to perform there.

With what her dad did on his show, people could think that she is actually in support of the animals, but if that were the case, why is she choosing to align her self with SeaWorld after everything that has been going on with them in the past year?

Bindi Irwin seems to have positive intentions in wanting to educate kids about wild animals, and even describing the kids as the next generation that needs to change the world. Is it possible that she was somehow shielded from the attention that Blackfish drew to SeaWorld in the past year?

  • Bindi Irwin: Major Backlash On Partnership With SeaWorld

Bindi Irwin, the daughter of ‘crocodile hunter’ Steve Irwin, became the subject of criticism and controversy when she announced her partnership with SeaWorld.

The teen appeared on Good Morning America with her brother Robert and mother Terri. She shared her excitement in following her father’s footsteps by empowering kids through SeaWorld’s project Generation Nature. “I’m thrilled to be partnered up with SeaWorld… and just encouraging kids to change the world,” she added.

SeaWorld has come under heavy scrutiny ever since the documentary Blackfish was released last year. The award-winning film showed the poor conditions that the killer whales in SeaWorld’s theme parks are subjected to.  After the release of the documentary, protests ensued and many musical acts, such as Willie Nelson, Trisha Yearwood, and Barenaked Ladies cancelled their performances in SeaWorld’s theme parks, most recently in SeaWorld Orlando’s concert series in February.

The 15-year-old seemed to be ignorant of SeaWorld’s negative image as she went on to promote the company’s site.

The announcement immediately triggered a barrage of violent reactions and angry tweets from animal rights groups and concerned individuals. In Pat Fitzgerald’s Twitter post mentioning Bindi, he asked her if she had watched Blackfish, adding, “Please do not bring shame to your fathers name by colluding with #SeaWorld.”

Another tweet, this time from user Amanda Holliday, posed the question “How much do you think #SeaWorld had to pay Bindi Irwin to fix their image?”

Animal rights organization PETA, or the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, also had something to say, stating that the Irwins had been exploiting animals for years, so they were not surprised that the Bindi agreed to become SeaWorld’s endorser.

The statement noted that making Bindi the SeaWorld cover girl will never cover up the fact that animals are suffering in the theme parks’ tanks. “SeaWorld is no place for anyone who truly cares about animals,” PETA said in their statement, commenting that Bindi’s appearances on television are just the company’s desperate attempts to make money.

  • Bindi Irwin Wows on AACTA Red Carpet

Bindi Irwin, the 15-year-old daughter of the late Crocodile Hunter wowed onlookers on the red carpet at the AACTA Awards in Sydney this week. Steve Irwin would be incredibly proud–not just of how beautiful his daughter has grown up to be, but of her poise, too.

The AACTA Awards celebrate the very best in Australian films and television. Bindi Irwin starred in Return to Nim’s Island in 2013.

Bindi wore a very stylish black floral dress to the awards show. What was so refreshing about her attire–as compared to how some American teen celebrities dress (think Kylie and Kendall Jenner of the Keeping Up With the Kardashians family) was that while it was incredibly haute couture and just a tiny bit sexy (did you see those motorcycle boots?), it was completely appropriate for a 15-year-old girl. She wore a hint of makeup, too, and even that was perfect for a teenager. Mom Terri Irwin has no doubt done a very good job raising Bindi (and her little brother Bob) on her own since Steve’s death in 2006.

Bindi Irwin is definitely following in her famous dad’s footsteps, carrying on Steve Irwin’s love of and education about animals.

Bindi recently shared this tweet with her followers.

Are you shocked to see Bindi Irwin all grown up and walking a red carpet at an awards show? It seems like just yesterday she was that little girl trailing her dad around while he taught her all about animals. How wonderful that Bindi is sharing the Crocodile Hunter’s legacy with the world. And how wonderful that she has grown up to be such a self-confident, personable and respectful young woman. Steve Irwin would, indeed, be proud.

  • Bindi Irwin Continues Dad’s Work

    Bindi Irwin Continues Dad’s Work

Bindi Irwin, daughter of the late Steve Irwin, is very mature for her age of only fifteen, and has vowed to continue her dad’s work as a Wildlife Warrior.

Steve Irwin, known to many as the crocodile hunter, dedicated his whole life to his love of animals, especially reptiles. Sadly, in 2006, Steve suffered a tragic death after he was pierced in the heart by a stingray. Despite his death, Steve’s family has continued to work with the animals and the wildlife park Steve opened that is now called the Australia Zoo.

“I have spent my entire life living in a zoo, which is pretty crazy. Not many kids get to say that,” Irwin told E! News, “and it took me until I was about three years old to realize that we didn’t just come to the zoo every day, that we actually lived here.”

“Every day we’d wake up and come to the zoo and I’d think, ‘We’re coming to the zoo again. This is great!’ Until it hit me that we live here,” Bindi continued. “We literally live right in the middle of the zoo and it means that every day is a new experience and so much fun.”

Bindi went on to talk about what an amazing conservationist her father was, and how she plans on continuing his legacy.

He was the greatest dad on the planet. He was our inspiration, who we looked up to the most and, for us, we wanna carry on his legacy. We wanna make sure that his message of wildlife and conservation continues, because he was the world’s greatest conservationist and so we never want that message to die.

With dad, he was the ultimate wildlife warrior and we admired him more than anything. Dad honestly was incredible. We never got nervous about him with animals, but I do remember he gave me a piece of advice that has stuck with me forever. He said, ‘You have to treat animals the way you wish to be treated.’ Which is so true. And I think that applies to all animals.

If you treat animals how you want to be treated, you’re a lot better off. So when he was working with venomous snakes or cheetahs, he just treated them in a way…it was never trying to overpower them or anything like that. He was just loving them. And he was teaching other people about how beautiful they are. Telling people how to respect snakes and respect crocodiles and to love them. And I think if you go about it with that kind of attitude, it’s brilliant.

Bindi hopes that by sharing their story and their love for the cause, that it will make more people want to become “Wildlife Warriors” as well. “We’ve shared what our passion is with certain people and hopefully empowered others to want to make a difference on planet earth,” Bindi said. “And so if we’re able to talk to people and encourage people to become wildlife warriors, then that’s brilliant.”

“You’ve got to think about the difference between normal and common. Because for us, our life is certainly not common,” she continued. “We live in the middle of a zoo. We’ve gotten to travel the world with our family and share our passion and love for wildlife with the world.”

  • Steve Irwin’s Son: 8-Year Old Croc Handler

Steve Irwin’s son Robert shows no fear when it comes to handling dangerous animals. In fact, he’s a natural at it.

If the 8-year old seems right at home with crocodiles and snakes, it’s because he and his family literally live in the middle of a zoo: the Australia Zoo, to be exact. His older sister Bindi has also had a knack for handling wildlife and says they couldn’t imagine living anywhere else.

“It’s fantastic. Every day’s a new adventure,” she said.

Both children were very close with their father and were involved in just about every aspect of taking care of the animals they were always surrounded by, even though Robert was just a toddler when Irwin was fatally stung in the chest by a stingray. Irwin was filming a documentary at the time with Bindi in the Great Barrier Reef; his death impacted the little girl profoundly, but she has followed in her father’s footsteps with her own kids’ television show featuring exotic animals, and has her own line of books called the “Wildlife Adventure Series”.

Now it looks like Robert will do the same; after hanging out with Oprah during one of her specials, he handled toothy baby crocs with ease and rattled off the latin name of a snake he was holding like it was second nature.
