  • Tara Reid Majorly Dissed by Elizabeth Banks

Tara Reid was dissed in a big way by Pitch Perfect 2 director Elizabeth Banks during a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter earlier this week. And while it wasn’t the nicest thing for the Hunger Games star to say–she did so without missing a beat.

Banks was talking about catching her big break, back in her early days of acting. The 41-year-clearly caught it, and is now making her foray into directing, too.

“There was a group of us girls coming up,” Banks told The Hollywood Reporter. “A lot of us are surviving. Some of us are not. I used to go to auditions with Tara Reid. So, you know, we didn’t all make it. We’re not all still here.”

Then she topped off her Tara Reid diss with, “I do love Sharknado.”

    Ouch.

    And ouch again.

Tara Reid is about to star in Sharknado 3, where another actress who never hit it big like Elizabeth Banks, is set to play her mother. Bo Derek of 10 fame–and only 10 fame–is now destined to end her acting days in a Sharknado movie.

On the upside, Tara Reid just learned the ‘art of doing a cameo’ in a class with Stan Lee. Might that thrust her into the ranks of actors like Elizabeth Banks?

Tara Reid hasn’t yet publicly commented on Elizabeth Banks’s diss. It’s pretty unlikely that she will. After all, what could she possibly say aside from the fact that the comment was rude?

    It was, sadly, spot on.

Are you a Tara Reid fan? Will you be catching Sharknado 3 this summer? Or are you more inclined to check out Elizabeth Banks in her directorial role when Pitch Perfect 2 hits theaters next month?

  • Tara Reid And The Hulk Get A Lesson From Comic Icon Stan Lee

Tara Reid has been acting for over two decades, but sometimes even the most seasoned vet can learn a thing or two from someone who’s been in the business even longer than they have. That’s exactly what Reid, Kevin Smith, and Michael Rooker did in a new Audi ad when they signed up to take “cameo lessons” from comic legend Stan Lee.

”I didn’t get to be the world’s greatest cameo actor overnight. It took years of hard work,” Lee says in the ad.

The Sharknado actress appears in the commercial with Smith, Rooker, Jason Mewes and the original Incredible Hulk, Lou Ferrigno, as they attend a workshop to learn how to “cameo act” rather than “real act”. If anyone can teach a class on cameos, it’s Lee; he’s appeared in a slew of films and ads, including several movies based on his own comic books.

Reid has taken a lot of criticism in the past couple of years for her role in Sharknado and the sequel, Sharknado: The Second One, which tell the story of a massive storm that dumps man-eating sharks on L.A. and New York, respectively. However, Reid says she took her job seriously when it came time to shoot, otherwise the jokes wouldn’t have landed. She and co-star Ian Ziering must have done something right, as both films were huge successes when they premiered, thanks in part to social media and the huge build-up the movie received prior to air.

“Even though the situation was crazy, you had to play it serious. If you were playing it, laughing all the time, the story line wouldn’t even make sense. It’s like taking it serious in such an absurd, crazy environment and that’s where the jokes come in. That’s where it gets funny, so you really do have to commit to your character and also know what you are playing. And being in that situation that you’re in and playing it serious, then there comes in the humor,” Tara Reid said last year.

  • Stan Lee Revealed As A Playable Character In New Spiderman Game

Stan Lee is Marvel, Marvel is Stan Lee. So it makes perfect sense that he has a cameo in nearly every single thing that Marvel makes right? But up until now he has never been a playable character in a video game. This new Spiderman game bucks that trend.

Stan Lee is the creator of many characters in comics history. Including iconic names such as: Spider Man, the X-Men, The Hulk, Thor, The Fantastic Four, The Avengers, The Silver Surfer, Iron Man, and Daredevil just to name a few.

The game is being made by Quebec, Canada developer Beenox. They also did the last 2 Spiderman games: the awesome “Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions”, and not so awesome “Spider-Man Edge of time.” Beenox is trying to be for Spiderman what Rocksteady is to Batman, or what High Moon Studios is to Transformers.

“The Amazing Spider-Man” game, based on the upcoming 2012 blockbuster movie, is set for release on the PS3, XBox 360, Wii, and 3DS this summer. Check out the video below to hear Mr. Lee talk about his Cameo.

Here is the first trailer for the game.

  • Schwarzenegger’s Comeback Role: The Governator [VIDEO]

When Arnold Schwarzenegger was elected the 38th Governor of California, many questioned if he would ever return to acting. Well, we now know the answer: he’s coming back. They’ll be a slight twist with his first role, it’ll be a cartoon called “The Governator”.

Just today, Arnold tweeted a link to the official trailer for the series. You can see the trailer above, be sure to leave a comment below with your thoughts on it.

I’m pumped for my next role as the Governator. Check out the trailer & tell me what you think: http://t.co/dSAEdfT 11 minutes ago via Twitter for iPhone · powered by @socialditto

The cartoon is just a single element of a multi-platform rollout, produced by comic legend Stan Lee, Andy Heyward and Schwarzenegger himself, which also includes a comic book, Internet delivered-content and a 3D feature length film. Recently Heyward told Deadline that, “it all starts with a 52-episode series that will feature the voice and animated image of Schwarzenegger as a superhero bent on beating the bad guys and the forces of evil.”

It’ll be interesting to see how the producers use social media to push these projects, as the cartoon series doesn’t even debut until late 2012. Can they make this series go viral before it even launches? Tell us what you think in the comments section.
