  • Cheryl Tiegs Apologizes For Fat-Shaming Model Ashley Graham

Cheryl Tiegs has penned an open letter in which she apologizes for insensitive comments she made about Ashley Graham’s cover for the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.

Ashley Graham, of course, is the first plus-size model to ever grace the cover and last year was the first to appear in the magazine.

When asked about her feelings on the unprecedented cover, Cheryl Tiegs said, “I don’t like that we’re talking about full-figured women because it’s glamorizing them, and your waist should be smaller than 35 [inches].”

That statement caused a firestorm to which Ashley Graham responded with a sort of “whatever” and brushed it right off.

    A photo posted by A S H L E Y G R A H A M (@theashleygraham) on

Now, Cheryl Tiegs is trying to pedal herself out of the situation.

Cheryl Tiegs said in her letter that the question she was actually asked “was a generic question, and I said that I did not love it. My answer was based on health concerns because of our nation’s increasing problems with weight linked to diabetes, heart issues and cancer. At no time was I thinking of a specific person.”

She continued, “What has ensued is yet another ‘manufactured media feud’ that is needed to feed websites and empty air time. I was not equating beauty to weight or size, but unfortunately that is what the media reported in headlines. I was trying to express my concern over media images and the lack of education in America about healthy choices, thus the reference to the 35-inch waist as a guideline to health.”

She went on to defend that statement, saying, “I did hear that on Dr. Oz, but it’s also stated on websites such as The Center For Disease Control, Harvard University and The American Diabetes Association.”

Then came a surprising admission: “And by the way, my waist is 37 inches.”

    Wow. Really, Cheryl Tiegs?

What do you think about Cheryl Tiegs’ apology?

  • Plus-Size Fashion Model: Cheryl Tiegs Says Ashley Graham’s SI Cover Sends Unhealthy Message

Plus-size fashion model Ashley Graham famously turned the tides this year when she recently graced the cover of Sports Illustrated’s Swimsuit Issue.

Ashley Graham is only one of the plus-size fashion models who are bringing about change in the fashion industry and generally how physical beauty is perceived.

However, former model Cheryl Tiegs, who has done a few Sports Illustrated covers herself in the past, says she doesn’t like the message putting a plus-size fashion model on the cover sends.

When asked about the cover, Tiegs said, “I don’t like that we’re talking about full-figured women, because it’s glamorizing them, because your waist should be smaller than 35 inches.”

She added, “That’s what Dr. Oz said, and I’m sticking to it.”

Ashley Graham is proud of what she has done and how people have rallied behind her.

In fact, after it was announced that she would grace the cover, Graham posted a pic to Instagram thanking everyone for their support.

While Ashley Graham may have drawn criticism from Cheryl Tiegs, it likely didn’t get under her skin.

She said recently, “I had agents tell me, ‘You’ll never get on the cover of magazines. You’ll never be an editorial model. I had agents wave money in my face and say, ‘If you drop some pounds, you can have a lot more of this!’ And not even THAT was something that encouraged me to lose weight!”

She continued, “The moment I realized I had to be healthy and happy in who I was, that’s when my career took off.”

By the way, Ashley Graham has a 30″ waist, according to her IMG page, so there’s that.

What do you think about Cheryl Tiegs’ comments about the fabulous plus-size fashion model Ashley Graham?

  • Ashley Graham, Ronda Rousey And Hailey Clauson’s Sexy Bikini Pics Make Sports Illustrated History

Ashley Graham, Ronda Rousey And Hailey Clauson’s Sexy Bikini Pics Make Sports Illustrated History

Ashley Graham just made history by being the first ever plus-size model to appear on the cover of Sports Illustrated. In an announcement made on Saturday, the well-known sports media magazine stated this year’s issue will be having not one, but three covers – also a first for the publication – and that Graham will be joined by UFC star Ronda Rousey and fashion model Hailey Clauson.

A first in the magazine’s 52 years of existence, the three covers showcase the ladies in different sexy looks. Ashley Graham, who is a size 16, is shown posing on the beach wearing a purple-and-yellow string bikini. Rousey’s cover, on the other hand, shows the former UFC champion wearing nothing but an intricate body paint swimsuit, and Clauson sports only a tiny pair of bikini bottoms.

The three lovely ladies attended a Sports Illustrated cover reveal special, which was hosted by Nick Cannon and Rebecca Romjin. Ashley Graham was visibly shocked by the announcement and couldn’t contain her emotions as the three magazine covers were unfolded on stage.

Hailing from Lincoln, Nebraska, Ashley Graham is not only a model but also a body activist who has publicly spoken multiple times on body image issues that dominate Hollywood and mainstream media. Because of her natural beauty and advocacy, the 28-year-old model was selected to promote Lane Bryant’s #PlusIsEqual movement and walk on the runway for Addition Elle’s Modern Boudoir line of lingerie.

In an interview with People magazine, Graham talked about the revolutionary move by Sports Illustrated to explore female physiques other than their usual slender and sometimes skinny models.

“I thought Sports Illustrated was taking a risk by putting a girl my size in the pages,” said Ashley Graham. “But putting me on the cover? They aren’t just breaking barriers. They are the standard now. This is beyond epic.”

  • Ashley Graham Makes History, Size 16 Body Activist Graces Cover of “Sports Illustrated” Swimsuit Edition

Ashley Graham has officially made history. The size 16 body activist and fashion model graces one of three covers of this year’s Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition.

At the Sports Illustrated cover reveal on Saturday night, Ashley Graham learned the exciting news.

“I thought Sports Illustrated was taking a risk by putting a girl my size in the pages,” Graham said. “But putting me on the cover? They aren’t just breaking barriers; they are the standard now. This is beyond epic.”

Ashley Graham credits Sports Illustrated’s swimsuit editor MJ Day for her new status as a cover girl.

“MJ came over to me and she had tears in her eyes and she said, ‘This is going to make history,’” she says. “And in that moment, I knew that I wasn’t just there as a favor, I wasn’t there just like ‘Oh let’s put the big girl in.’ I was there because I was supposed to be there.”

Achieving this magazine cover is a victory for society, according to Ashley Graham.

“Girls who are insecure about their bodies, girls who feel fat, girls who have cellulite, girls who have stretch marks on their body–those are all the things that I had as a kid and I never had a woman like me growing up to look at,” she explains. “I had my mother and that’s one thing, but to have somebody who has cellulite, who has things that jiggle, who has back fat and talk about how you can be an overcomer and not let society take you down for all of that. That’s real.”

After leaving the stage at the Sports Illustrated cover reveal, Ashley Graham called her husband.

“My husband said, ‘I told you!’ ” Graham said. “And then he goes ‘Yesss.’ ”

Where was the gorgeous size 16 model headed after the big event?

“I’m gonna go eat a burger,” she said. “I am so hungry. You have no idea. I want a burger and fries.”

Ronda Rousey–in body paint–and model Hailey Clauson landed the other two Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition covers.

Fans can check out Ashley Graham, Ronda Rousey, and Hailey Clauson on one of three Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition covers when the magazine hits news stands on February 15.

  • Nicola Griffin, 56, To Be In Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue

Nicola Griffin has now proudly joined the ranks of those who are changing things over at Sports Illustrated.

Nicola Griffin is a 56-year-old plus-size model who will appear in a campaign spread for Swimsuits for All.

Nicola Griffin looks amazing (and normal) in a gold bikini.

She said, “It’s not all about being 20 and 5’10”. We’re bored of that! We are all different ages and sizes and that’s the beauty of it. We’re real women.”

Last year was the very first time that Sports Illustrated featured a plus-size model when they rolled out the Swimsuits for All ads.

Another plus-size model, Philomenia Kwao, will also grace the pages of the campaign.

  • Nicola Griffin Is 56 And Still Hot, Added To Sports Illustrated 2016 Swimwear Lineup

Sports Illustrated 2016 Swimwear Issue is making a powerful statement in its upcoming issue. As part of the Swimsuits for All ad, the magazine announced that it will be featuring plus-size model and body activist Ashley Graham as one of its five rookies. Sticking to its advocacy, the magazine also added a 56-year-old model to its lineup.

Nicola Griffin, 56, will be featured in an ad for Swimsuits for All’s #SwimSexy campaign in an effort to promote body positivity.

“I hope that women take away from this campaign that you can look fantastic at any size, any shape,” Griffin said on the Swimsuits for All website, encouraging women to embrace their own beauty, and body.

The model also added: “Healthy, happy, glowing at no matter what age you are, what size you are, just looking good, feeling good.”

She began her modeling career three years ago, after a casting appearance for a British hair product which required someone with silver hair.

“It’s not all about being 20 and five-foot-ten. We’re bored of that!” Griffin, who has been featured in campaigns for Anna Scholz and FabuLift recently shared to the Daily Mail. “We are all different ages and sizes and that’s the beauty of it. We’re real women,” she explained.

In her interview with E! Online the model revealed that this is the first time she wore a bikini and she felt “empowered” and “sexy.”

Nicola Griffin, Ashley Graham, and another plus-sized model, Philomena Kwao, are featured wearing gold bikini in their sexy pictorial with the brand.

Nicola Griffin Joins Two Other Models for ‘Swimsuits For All’

Nicola Griffin also admitted that she was nervous when she posed with the younger models. She said she was worried about what they would do with her until she was put in a gold bikini. Griffin was happy that her children were all supportive of her decision.

  • Ashley Graham Grateful That “Voices Were Heard”, Becomes First Plus-Size Sports Illustrated “Rookie”

Ashley Graham has long been known as a talented plus-size (some might say regular-size) model in the fashion industry.

But, on Tuesday, Ashley Graham saw a dream come true when she was announced as one of this year’s Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue “Rookies”.

Ashley Graham appeared in the magazine last year in an ad, but this year, became the first plus-size model to make a swimsuit spread.

Ashley Graham expressed her joy on Instagram with a shot of her in a bikini.

The pic was captioned, “It’s official – I’m a @si_swimsuit model!! This is a dream come true. Thank you to everyone who stood up for curves- our voices were heard and together you can help me win Rookie of the Year. Stay tuned for voting instructions #beautybeyondsize #siswim”

Ashley Graham, who is reportedly a size 14, and other so-called plus-size models like Robyn Lawley, who is a size 10-12, have made huge strides in the last few years toward body acceptance of all sizes.

However, Ashley Graham doesn’t really care to be known as a plus-size model.

She said, “I hate the word ‘real woman’ and I hate the word ‘plus-size’.”

She added, “I’ve got plenty of friends [of all sizes] and different shapes and everything and I don’t want any of them to feel like they aren’t ‘real women’.”

Ashley Graham said she understands “that a lot of women still love this word. I totally respect that, but for someone like me, I don’t feel the connection to the word ‘plus-sized.’”

Interesting. Do you agree with Ashley Graham’s sentiments on the term “plus-size”?

  • Ashley Graham Realizes Dream As Sports Illustrated “Rookie”, Hates “Plus-Size” Label

Ashley Graham realized a dream of hers on Tuesday when it was announced that she was selected as one of Sports Illustrated’s Swimsuit Rookies.

Ashley Graham, a plus-size model that appeared in an ad in last year’s Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition, couldn’t be any happier with how far she has brought body image perceptions.

So far, Ashley Graham has starred as the face for Addition Elle’s latest sportswear collection, NYDJ’s Fit to Be campaign, and swimsuitsforall‘s new #SwimSexy campaign, among others.

#SwimSexy will be also be featured in Sports Illustrated 2016 Swimsuit issue. Ashley Graham is also the face of Lane Bryant’s latest campaign, #ThisBody.

But it seems Ashley Graham, while she is widely known as a plus-size model, doesn’t really like the label.

She said, “I hate the word ‘real woman’ and I hate the word ‘plus-size’.”

She added, “I’ve got plenty of friends [of all sizes] and different shapes and everything and I don’t want any of them to feel like they aren’t ‘real women.’”

Ashley Graham does understand “that a lot of women still love this word” and the culture of inclusion that is growing.

She added, “I totally respect that, but for someone like me, I don’t feel the connection to the word ‘plus-sized’.”

What do you think? Do you feel like Ashley Graham does about the term “plus-size”?

  • Ashley Graham: Model Named Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Rookie

Ashley Graham’s big year is getting even bigger.

The model, identified as “plus-size”, has just been named to the 2016 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit rookie class.

And according to Graham, you can thank everyone that “stood up for curves.”

“It’s official – I’m a @si_swimsuit model!! This is a dream come true. Thank you to everyone who stood up for curves- our voices were heard and together we can help me win Rookie of the Year,” the model wrote on Instagram.

Sports Illustrated had this to say about Graham:

Ashley, a native of Lincoln, NE, started her career at the age of 12, when she was discovered while shopping at her local mall in Omaha. Since then, she’s gone on to do everything from editorial to runway to catalog, and is best known for her work as a lingerie model for retailer Lane Bryant. In 2013, she also partnered with Canadian brand Addition Elle to develop her own lingerie line, and has branded herself over the years as an advocate for beauty of all shapes and sizes.

  • Ashley Graham Shares Racy Sports Illustrated Spread On Social Media

Plus size model and “advocate for beauty of all shapes and sizes” Ashley Graham recently revealed that she will be featured in Sports Illustrated’s upcoming Swimsuit 2016 Rookie Class, and will be appearing in a series of ads for Lane Bryant’s new body positive campaign.

Graham, 28, took to Instagram to share the news alongside one of the sexy photos from her recent pictorial.

“It’s official – I’m a @si_swimsuit model!! This is a dream come true,” Graham wrote. “Thank you to everyone who stood up for curves- our voices were heard and together we can help me win Rookie of the Year.”

“Stay tuned for voting instructions #beautybeyondsize #siswim,” added the model.

The image has already earned over 28,000 likes. Fans who were inspired by Ashley Graham have also expressed their gratitude for advocating a positive body image for plus-sized women.

Graham will be featured in a series of ads for Lane Bryant alongside plus-size fashion celebs Denise Bidot, Georgia Pratt, Tara Lynn, and Precious Lee. The series of ads aims to encourage women to be confident with their own curves.

The new campaign for the brand has become a platform for the models to tell the world what their bodies are made for.  In an interview with Refinery 29, Graham revealed that she believes her body is made to “start a revolution.”

“My body is for starting a revolution,” the new member of SI Swimsuit 2016 Rookie said. “I realized I could use my career as a model to create change and disrupt the fashion industry, so I started calling myself a ‘body activist’ to help redefine society’s definitions of beauty.”

Ashley Graham Starred in Lane Bryant’s ‘Plus is Equal’ Campaign

Ashley Graham also appeared in Lane Bryant’s “Plus is Equal” campaign last September. Last year, she became the first plus-size model to be featured in an ad in the SI Swimsuit Issue.

  • Irina Shayk: Former “Sports Illustrated” Model is New Face of L’Oreal Paris

Irina Shayk has officially got it made. The former Sports Illustrated model is now the face of L’Oreal Paris.

    But is she “worth it?”

According to Instagram, she’s well worth it.

“Speaking of hair envy ???our new lorealista @irinashayk has hair for daaays ? #worthit,” L’Oreal Paris touts the merits of Irina Shayk in this photo.

This photo shows Irina Shayk about to dine on something that looks amazing. The brunette beauty is dating actor Bradley Cooper, but she seems to be dining solo in this photo.

    “Can you tell i’m into food? ? ? @irinashayk #lorealista #lorealparis,” the caption reads.

Irina Shayk seems to have a lipstick obsession in addition to making fans obsessed with her.

“Today’s lipstick obsession ??? do you like my Color Riche Beige A Nu 302? ? @irinashayk #lorealista #lorealparis,” the company captioned this shot.

Earlier this week, Irina Shayk announced on her own Instagram page that she had been chosen as the new face of L’Oreal Paris.

    Bradley Cooper no doubt agrees.

  • Chrissy Teigen Subject of Racist Rant

Chrissy Teigen was the subject of a racist rant on Thursday as she was walking down the street in West Hollywood. The Sports Illustrated model was simply enjoying her morning stroll when the incident took place.

People are outraged by the way the wife of singer John Legend was treated. Some celebrities have come to her support on social media–including Mindy Kaling and Parks and Recreation star Retta.

Chrissy Teigen shared word of the hateful–and no doubt hurtful–experience via social media. In fact, she wrote a total of four tweets describing the incident.

Chrissy Teigen is of both Norwegian and Thai descent. The comments the heckler made were definitely racist.

Mindy Kaling had the following reply to one of Chrissy Teigen’s tweets.

The Parks and Recreation actress tweeted her thoughts as well.

It’s shocking to hear these kinds of racist comments being made in light of all that has been done to educate and raise awareness on the subject in recent decades. It’s sad that Chrissy Teigen was the victim of such hate.

  • Gigi Hadid Sports Bizarre Look at Jeremy Scott Fashion Show

Gigi Hadid sported a rather bizarre look during the Jeremy Scott show at New York Fashion Week. The Sports Illustrated model and BFF of Kendall Jenner looked a lot more like a clown than a fashion model.

Designer Jeremy Scott is known for his outlandish fashion pieces, but this look really took the proverbial cake. Who on earth would buy this stuff?

Gigi Hadid not only wore a ridiculously oversized hot pink patent leather top with baby blue polka dots, but also wore matching hot pink eye shadow. She had bright yellow streaks in her wig.

The second look Jeremy Scott dressed Gigi Hadid in featured a mini-dress of multiple colors. Part of the patchwork included images of Care Bears and Raggedy Ann characters. She complemented that outfit with the same teal tights and wig she wore with the first ensemble.

Gigi Hadid is the Maybelline New York brand ambassador. She has shared many memories from her New York Fashion Week experiences with Style.com.

“It’s crazy! I’ve always said that I feel lucky to live in the ear of social media and be a working model in this time,” she explained. “Back in the day, models were just another face. But social media has given people a voice and not just another face. Not only can you show the world your personality and stuff like that, but you can be a brand ambassador easily. You can connect with people much easier because you have a voice.”

What’s your take on the bizarre looks Gigi Hadid wore on the runway during the Jeremy Scott show this week? Would you invest in any of this designer’s work?

  • Hannah Davis: SI Cover Backlash Is “Silly”

Hannah Davis: SI Cover Backlash Is “Silly”

Hannah Davis thinks that the whole controversy over her racy photo for the cover of this year’s Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue is a little ridiculous.

The 24-year-old model was ecstatic to get the news that she had made the cover in the first place.

“I’ve always enjoyed the whole Swimsuit experience, and said that anything extra—a little square on the cover or anything like that—was a bonus. But still, this was my dream,” Hannah Davis told the folks at SI.

However, not everyone was as excited as Hannah Davis was.

Some thought her cover, which shows her in what seems to be the process of taking off her bikini bottoms, crossed a certain line.

Thank you to my @si_swimsuit and @imgmodels family! I am honored to be your 2015 cover girl! Wow!! #SISwim

A photo posted by Hannah Davis (@hanni_davis) on

Hannah Davis went on Today to discuss her cover with Matt Lauer. For the show, they covered her almost exposed lady bits with a red ribbon graphic. When asked if she thought they were being prudent or just being prudes, she leaned toward the latter.

“I think you’re making it look a lot naughtier than it really is to be honest,” Hannah Davis said.

Hannah Davis added, “To be honest, I think SI always tries to do something a little different every year, and I think this year, it’s the year of the torso.”

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VzxcmjB1zeE

Great morning with @iamsteveharveytv at the @TodayShow, thank you for having me! #SISwim @si_swimsuit

A photo posted by Hannah Davis (@hanni_davis) on

As far as controversy goes, Hannah Davis told the New York Post that a little bit of controversy is nothing new to SI.

Hannah Davis said, “There’s controversy every year, so I think it’s kind of just silly that they’re making it out to be the big thing; I mean it’s the swimsuit issue.”

    She’s got a point there.

Hannah Davis went on to say, “There are far more scandalous pictures in the magazine if you open it up. It’s a girl in a bikini, and I think it’s empowering; I’ve been hearing it’s degrading. I think the people who are saying that aren’t feminists, because I think when you’re a woman and you look at that picture and if you overanalyze it as anything more than just a full picture, it’s just silly to me.”

To the people who put together the magazine, Hannah Davis was absolutely perfect in the pic.

SI Assistant Managing Editor MJ Day said of Hannah Davis’ cover shot, “I didn’t think it could get better than Hannah’s Jersey Shore shoot last year, but this year everything clicked. It was perfection.”

What do you think about Hannah Davis’ cover photo for SI?

  • Hannah Davis: Models React To Her Racy Sports Illustrated Cover

Hannah Davis is now a household name thanks to her amazing Sports Illustrated swimsuit cover that showed us a sizzling peek at what’s down there. The cover has caused quite a stir among conservative folks, who think the act of lowering her underwear is too risqué for the public.

Davis isn’t sure what the fuss is all about because she’s a huge fan of the work that she did for the popular magazine. “I liked it because it was something different,” she revealed to People Magazine. “SI is always known for going to exotic locations, so to sort of stay local and do the whole ‘America the Beautiful theme, I found it new and fresh.”

The cover was shot on Blackberry Farm in Tennessee, a unique choice of local especially since previous covers featured models posing away in the sandy shores of exotic locales. “I thought you had to be on a beach,” Davis joked.

Last year’s cover girls were also fans of Davis’ sizzling cover. Lily Aldridge, Chrissy Teigen, and Nina Agdal also spoke to People mag about how deserving Davis was to nab the Sports Illustrated gig. “It’s definitely life-changing, getting the over,” Aldridge said. Aldridge also revealed that she had Davis’ cover framed.

Another fan of the cover is Davis’ boyfriend and baseball player, Derek Jeter. The couple went to a dinner party with friends and family to celebrate the cover. Meanwhile, Jeter’s ex, Vida Guerra was on a mission to prove that she’s “Derek’s hottest ex” by posting a revealing photo shoot that’s even more risqué than Davis’ cover. Fans of Davis however called out Guerra’s shoot, saying that she needs to try a little harder because Davis doesn’t need to show it all to look “breathtakingly beautiful.”

Davis is now hoping that the buzz from her cover will lead to more work for her. “I really admire models like Kathy Ireland, Tyra Banks, and Heidi Klum. They used their SI platform to really do some amazing things, like having their own companies.” Looks like Davis is posed to take the fashion world by storm!

  • SI Swimsuit Cover 2015 Is Too Racy For “Today” Show

The SI swimsuit cover for 2015 is getting a lot of attention this week after the Today show censored it with a big red bow when model Hannah Davis visited to promote it.

Davis told Matt Lauer that she thought the producers’ decision to censor the photo–which shows her in a standing position, pulling her bikini bottom down in the front–made the image look naughtier than it really was.

“I think you’re making it look a lot naughtier than it really is, to be honest. To be honest, I think SI always tries to do something a little different every year, and I think this year, it’s the year of the torso,” she said.

The show isn’t alone in wanting to cover Davis up; the National Center on Sexual Exploitation has written a letter to major retailers asking them not to stock the magazine in the open. According to the New York Post, they are considering the photo to be bordering on “pornographic”.

“Sports Illustrated’s 2015 Swimsuit issue’s cover does not simply feature a beautiful woman in a bikini, it borders obscenity as the focus is specifically on the exposed pubic area,” said NCSE executive director Dawn Hawkins.

Davis has officially declared 2015 to be the “year of the torso” and said she was taken by surprise when SI asked her to be the 2015 cover model.

“It was an overwhelming moment. I was crying. I was so blindsided by the whole thing, but it’s an honor,” Hannah Davis said.

The SI swimsuit cover for 2015 is the first for Hannah, although she’s been in the magazine twice before.

  • Ashley Graham Set To Make History With Sports Illustrated

Ashley Graham thinks her curves are sexy, and she wants other women to embrace theirs, as well.

The 27-year old model is set to make history later this month when Sports Illustrated features an ad for Swimsuits For All, in which she’s wearing a revealing black string bikini. While that’s not new territory for the magazine, the model herself is; Graham is a well-known plus-size model, and her appearance in the magazine will mark a first in its long history.

Graham said in a recent statement that she thinks too many women hide their bodies, and she aims to change that.

“I know my curves are sexy and I want everyone else to know that theirs are too. There is no reason to hide and every reason to flaunt. The world is ready for more curves in bikinis. Swimsuits For All helps women feel confident and sexy in swimsuits, and I am so thrilled to be a part of the #CurvesinBikinis campaign!” Ashley Graham said.

Graham wrote in a recent editorial for Net-A-Porter that her size has fluctuated several times over the years–like many women, she gained weight as a teenager during a time of change, when she moved to New York on her own–but now, at a size 14, she’s happy.

“It’s not about conforming; it’s a size I feel good at. I am always being asked to gain or lose weight, but I am at a point now where I don’t care anymore. I love my body, I love my super-hourglass shape and I love showing it off,” Ashley Graham wrote.

Graham will appear in Sports Illustrated on February 9.

  • Angie Everhart, Former Sport Illustrated Swimsuit Model, Marries Carl Ferro

Angie Everhart was married at the beach over the weekend.

The former Sports Illustrated swimsuit model and actress married Carl Ferro, president and co-founder of meal delivery service Sunfare, during a sunset ceremony on Saturday evening, her rep confirmed to People.

The nuptials were a family affair. The 45-year-old actress was accompanied down the aisle by her 5-year-old son Kayden and Ferro’s daughter JoAnn served as flower girl. While model Sandra Taylor stood by her friend as a bridesmaid, the coupled exchanged vows they wrote themselves.

The nuptials were caught on camera for David Tutera’s CELEBrations, which will air on WE TV in early 2015.

According to Us Weekly, the bride wore a strapless lace dress with a tulle skirt. The area on the beach where the ceremony took place was decked out with a white aisle, gold chairs, along with several big floral arrangements with white roses.

Everhart, who announced in May that she is suffering from thyroid cancer, shared her happy news via Twitter on Friday.

The couple had been dating for exactly two years when Ferro proposed. He decided to pop the question on their two-year anniversary in April in the same elevator in Hollywood’s Redbury Hotel where they shared their first kiss.

  • Maria Kirilenko Broke Up With Alex Ovechkin, But Not Over Instagram

Russian tennis star Maria Kirilenko and hockey player Alex Ovechkin have ended their relationship as a couple.

R-Sport published Kirilenko’s comments concerning the break up. For all intents and purposes, the tennis player is now officially single. Or as official as the internet ever gets. Maybe it’s better to have her put it unequivocally in her own words:

“Мною принято решение о расторжении помолвки, – заявила Мария. – Причин много, но не хотелось бы вдаваться в подробности. Скажу одно: наши отношения завершены, но я уважаю Сашу как человека и спортсмена и искренне желаю ему дальнейших спортивных успехов”.

For those of us who align with the English side of the world wide web, the news translation site, the Russian Machine Never Breaks, has offered their translation of her side of the story:

“I have made a decision to break up our engagement. There are a lot of reasons, but I wouldn’t want to go in detail. I’ll say just that our relationship is over, but I respect Sasha as a person and an athlete and sincerely wish him athletic success in the future.

I’m currently concentrating on preparing for my tennis tournaments and I hope that soon I’ll be able to please my fans with news about my success as an athlete and not just in my personal life.”

There has been some confusion in the English speaking world as to why the all-Russian all-sports all-stars ended their relationship. Sport Illustrated thought it might be because of an Intsagram photo.

Again, the kind folks from the Russian Machine Never Breaks cleared this one up for us. The Sports Illustrated piece was based on a “nonsensical story” published by R-Sport. When Sports Illustrated fell for the rumor, it began to pick up traction online. Kirilenko was even asked about it by Nikolay Mysin from Sovetsky Sport. She then put an end to the rumor once and for all:

“Believe me, over the years I have seen so many pictures of Sasha in the company of young ladies, that I have gotten used to it. That is normal. We are public figures, and people often want to take pictures with us. This is the first time I heard about this girl, and I made my decision to break up the engagement long before these pictures appeared on the social networks. It is laughable to point to them as the main reason behind the breakup – after three years together couples do not break up over a couple of pictures. There are much more significant reasons. I will not go into any more details about them. But let’s just say it is not a secret for anybody that Sasha has certain habits and particulars of behavior that I did not consider worth tolerating anymore.”

For those of you curious about the photo of Ovechkin with gymnast Karolina Sevastyanova, here it is:

For his part, Ovechkin seems to be recovering from the break up by enjoying his vacation. At least, that’s what he posts on Instagram:

  • Erin Andrews To Join No. 1 Fox NFL Coverage Team

The news is in: Erin Andrews will reportedly replace Pam Oliver as Fox Sports’ No. 1 NFL sideline reporter this coming season, according to Sports Illustrated. Pam Oliver will move to the No. 2 NFL sideline reporter role for this coming NFL season, and then take a role doing long-form pieces, major interviews, and producing, mostly for Showtime’s “60 Minutes Sports.”

It was a shock to Oliver when Fox Sports executives traveled to Atlanta, where Oliver is based, to tell her in person that she would not only be replaced as the No. 1 NFL sideline reporter but that she would also be taken off the NFL sidelines completely in 2014.

“To go from the lead crew to no crew was a little shocking,” Oliver said to SI.com. “I said I wanted to do a 20th year [on the sidelines]. I expressed to them that I was not done and had something to offer. Again, I think it was predetermined coming in. Not at that meeting, but two years ago it was determined that no matter what I did or did not do, a change would be made for this year.”

Fox Sports President Eric Shanks told SI.com, “I think in the last five years we have made a lot of changes with the NFL crews,” Shanks said. “We have made changes to keep our coverage across the board fresh, including the addition of Burkhardt and Lynch -– which has been one of the more exciting pairings we have put together. This is kind of the next move in that evolution.”

Oliver has a different take on it, however. “I live in the real world and I know that television tends to get younger and where women are concerned,” said Oliver, who is 53. “Just turn on your TV. It’s everywhere. And I’m not saying these younger girls don’t deserve a chance. I know I’ve had my turn.”

For this coming NFL season, Oliver will be on the sidelines reporting as part of the No. 2 Fox team of Kevin Burkhardt and John Lynch. Erin Andrews will join the No. 1 Fox team of Joe Buck and Troy Aikman, just a little less than two years after she left ESPN to join Fox Sports. Recently, she has been the co-host to the latest season of Dancing with the Stars.

  • Montreal Canadiens Dominated By Rangers In Game One

With both the New York Rangers and Montreal Canadiens coming off big wins against top teams (Pittsburgh and Boston, respectively), it would be easy to assume that both teams would take the ice ready to play in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals.

One team showed up and scored seven goals. The other scored only two goals and seemed lackadaisical, according to a Sports Illustrated headline. That team was the Montreal Canadiens.

In Game 1 of the much-anticipated series between two Original Six teams, the New York Rangers put on a show, scoring seven goals from seven different players in the Rangers’ fourth straight win since facing elimination against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

The Rangers scored two goals back-to-back in the opening minutes of Game 1 and never looked back, this after scoring just one goal against the Canadiens during three games in the regular season.

Yahoo! Sports Puck Daddy stated that the Habs were “due for a stinker” after their series win over the Boston Bruins, an assessment that was accurate after the play of the Canadiens in their 7-2 loss. Goaltender Carey Price was pulled after surrendering four goals in two periods, and the Canadiens were one goal away of allowing the most goals in playoff franchise history.

Martin St. Louis, grieving after the passing of his mother, scored the first goal and “provided inspiration” for the rest of the team, according to The Associated Press recap of the game.

St. Louis received the first star for the game and received a long ovation from the crowd when that distinction was announced. He said, “It was an emotional time for everyone, but the guys have been behind me and supported me. My teammates are behind me and supporting me, and their effort was unbelievable. We feel really close right now and we’re trying to keep feeding off that.”

Game 2 is Monday night in Montreal at the Bell Centre.
