  • Tiffany Thornton: Husband Chris Carney “Flew Straight Into the Arms of Jesus” Upon Death

Tiffany Thornton will long grieve the loss of her 35-year-old husband Chris Carney, who died last week in a car crash. She laid Chris to rest on Monday.

In an Instagram post this past weekend, the former Sonny With a Chance star shared some things about her late husband that many people didn’t know–namely his strong Christian beliefs. Their faith ensured Tiffany Thornton that Chris Carney “flew straight into the arms of Jesus” when he died in that horrific accident.

“There are so many things I want you to know about Chris but most importantly you must know how earnestly he pursued the Lord, especially in the past year. No one is perfect in this world and we all have our battles but it’s the way we get back on our feet and turn it around that really counts. And he did it. He was so on fire for God and I know he flew straight into the arms of Jesus, his best friend. Please if you’re reading this know that Chris would want you to know the Lord. Don’t wait to run back to God. Our days are numbered and God is just waiting for you to come back to him. There is so much power in the redemption God gives us and I am so grateful that Chris and I got to fall in love all over again this past year. He was on such an amazing path for the Kingdom, having just gone on a mission trip to Peru with his dad where he shared his beautiful testimony and brought so many people to the Lord. He finished writing, directing, producing and editing his first Christian film and he and I got to star in it together as love interests who end up getting married. He was THE BEST father my children could ever have, an incredibly loving and sensitive husband, a wonderful brother and amazing son. He is already so dearly missed but I promise to spend the rest of my life sharing his testimony so that those who feel they have no place or have come from a place of struggle can learn that the love of the Lord can save us all.

We will have a service in remembrance of him Monday, December 7th at 3pm and First Church of the Nazarene here in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Visitation will begin at 1:30pm.
Thank you for your continued prayers for our family as we grieve the loss of my best friend Chris, the most incredible person I’ve ever had the blessing of knowing,” Tiffany Thornton captioned the post of the two of them on their wedding day.

Tiffany Thornton’s good friend and former Sonny With a Chance costar Demi Lovato Tweeted out her thoughts on the day of Chris Carney’s funeral. Lovato and boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama have long been close friends of the couple, and Wilmer is their elder son’s godfather.

Hopefully close friends like Demi and Wilmer will keep Tiffany Thornton and her boys close in these difficult days. She will need lots of love and support to provide stability for her boys in the midst of her grief.

The strong Christian faith Tiffany Thornton and Chris Carney relied on will likely be her anchor.

  • Demi Lovato Expresses Grief Over “Sonny With A Chance” Costar Tiffany Thornton’s Husband’s Tragic Death

Demi Lovato starred alongside actress Tiffany Thornton in Disney Channel’s Sonny With a Chance. In the wee hours of Friday morning, Thornton’s husband, Chris Carney, died in a tragic car crash along with friend Ezekial Blanton. He was just 35 years old.

The “Confident” singer caught the bouquet at Thornton’s wedding to Carney. Later on Friday, Demi Lovato took to Twitter to express her grief over this devastating loss.

The singer also Tweeted a now-bittersweet wedding photo of Chris Carney and Tiffany Thornton. Fans can see Demi Lovato with boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama in the shot as well.

Demi Lovato also posted this photo to her Instagram page, along with a link to a GoFundMe page for Tiffany Thornton and the two little boys she now must raise alone.

“Been trying to figure out what to say all day… This morning I woke up to terrible news. My good friend Chris Carney has passed away. This picture is a perfect example of the love he shared with Tiff and how much fun he was to be around. I’ve been to many weddings but this is by far the most memorable because the way they looked into each other’s eyes and the love they had for one another. There were tons of laughs and tons of tears and I’ll never forget the way he looked at her. It doesn’t seem real and I’m still in shock.. Still speechless. I don’t know how to put into words how heartbroken I am for Tiffany and their two baby boys. You’re already missed Chris.. And Tiffany I love you so much.. I’m so unbelievably sorry… There are still no words. For those who would like to help the family at this time you can help support @tiffthornton and her precious babies KJ and Bentley by donating at https://gofund.me/4gdfn773?pc=tw_cr_n #RIPChrisCarney #prayfortiffany ?” she captioned the Instagram post.

Wilmer Valderrama is the godfather of Tiffany Thornton and Chris Carney’s three-year-old son. He has yet to post anything about the tragedy on social media.

Hopefully having good friends like Demi Lovato and Wilmer Valderrama in her corner will help Tiffany Thornton through these next painful days and weeks. She has a long road ahead as a newly-single mom of two young boys.

  • Tiffany Thornton: “Sonny With a Chance” Star’s Husband Chris Carney Dies in Car Accident

Tiffany Thornton, known for her role in the Disney Channel’s Sonny With a Chance, lost her husband, Chris Carney, in a car accident early on Friday morning. He was just 35 years old.

The father of two was a passenger in a vehicle driven by friend, 37-year-old Ezekiel Blanton, when the car hit a tree while going around a bend. Blanton was killed in the crash, too.

Tiffany Thornton and Chris Carney had two children together. Kenneth James “KJ” Carney is three and Bentley Cash Carney is just 21 months old. How sad that these little boys will have so few memories of their dad as they are growing up.

Demi Lovato starred in Sonny With a Chance with Tiffany Thornton and even caught the bouquet at her wedding to Chris Carney. She Tweeted her disbelief when she learned of the tragedy.

Demi Lovato’s boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama is the godfather of Tiffany Thornton and Chris Carney’s older boy. He has yet to comment on social media.

It was only a couple of weeks ago that Tiffany Thornton, a 105.9 KLAZ radio show host and blogger for Disney, shared she had lost a very close friend named Brittany Blanton. She shared her sorrow via Instagram.

“I keep thinking this can’t be real. One of my very best friends is gone and the place she holds in my heart will never be filled. Brittany was one of the coolest people I’ve ever known, filled with the loudest and most contagious laughter, a huge heart, a beautiful smile and an unbelievable faith in others that not a lot of people have. It was such a blessing having her stand by me in my wedding and I was honored to stand by her in hers. From way too much eye shadow, bangs, boyfriends we THOUGHT were our soul mates, trips to Destin and Cancun, late nights at the Blanton casa with way too much queso, to growing older, nights of reminiscing, phone calls to help eachother keep our chins up in the tough times, and laughing at how cool we thought we were back in the day….and still eating way too much queso….you will forever be missed. Reserve me a spot next to you in Heaven BB, I know I’ll see you,” she captioned a photo montage of her late friend.

It’s uncertain if Brittany Blanton was related to Ezekiel Blanton, the man who was killed alongside Chris Carney.

Tiffany Thornton has a long road ahead of her. Not only must she bury a young husband, she must try to figure out a way for his sudden absence to make sense to her very young sons.

Hopefully lots of close family members and friends and able and willing to step in and help her for as long as she needs them.

  • Demi Lovato and Miley Cyrus: Nothing in Common

Demi Lovato and Miley Cyrus used to be good friends, but it certainly sounds like that’s not the case any more. In fact, the two have nothing at all in common–at least according to the ‘Heart Attack’ singer. Demi Lovato answered some of her fans’ questions Monday on Boston’s The TJ Show, when the question of Demi and Miley arose.

The caller asked Lovato whether she and Cyrus were still pals. A silence preceded an awkward response. After the rather long pause, Demi Lovato responded.

“Umm, yeah… that. We’re like, acquaintances,” she replied.

Demi the did her best to explain what happened between her and the former Hannah Montana star.

“Yeah, it’s life and people change,” Lovato said. “And you, know, I don’t have anything in common with her anymore, and I wish her all the best.”

Demi Lovato and Miley Cyrus, who are both 22, grew up as Disney Channel child stars–starring in Sonny With A Chance and Hannah Montana, respectively. Selena Gomez starred in The Wizards of Waverly Place at the same time.

Miley Cyrus has had a love of the limelight in recent years. She has made a huge name for herself in Hollywood circles. Her split from Liam Hemsworth and her twerking on last year’s VMAs thrust her even further into the spotlight than she’s ever been. Demi Lovato has preferred to do her concerts, appearances, and interviews, and then sort of withdraw from the Hollywood social scene. Every now and then she and boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama are spotted out for a special evening, but given her past issues with drugs and alcohol, Demi isn’t much for the party scene.

Do you think Demi Lovato’s recent comment about Miley Cyrus will prompt some kind of response from the ‘Wrecking Ball’ singer? Or will Miley not even care if she learns that Demi claimed the two have nothing in common?

  • Demi Lovato On Being A Role Model For Young Girls

Demi Lovato recently opened up about being a role model for young girls.

Lovato, who made her way to fame on Disney Channel’s Sonny with a Chance, struggled with physical and emotional issues as a child actress, and never thought of herself as a role model for anyone.

In October 2010, Lovato entered a rehab facility, where she quickly realized that her every move was in the public eye and she needed to be an inspiration for those looking up to her instead of the other way around.

“When I was in treatment, I honestly thought my career was over,” she said during a November 2013 interview with Entertainment Weekly. “But when I came out of treatment, I had more supportive fans than ever. There are lots of artists who aren’t honest – they put on a face. Nobody can relate to that face.”

She added, “Growing up, I needed someone in the public eye to look up to. At the time, it was starlets clubbing and getting really, really thin. That’s what I thought was cool and glamorous. But now I want to inspire that young girl who thinks she’s overweight, or too thin, or not pretty enough.”

Now, four years later, Demi has matured and is embracing her role as a role model.

“I really embraced the whole role model thing, because when I was younger I realized that shying away from it and denying that I was gonna be a role model, denying it only made me resent the fact that people were putting like, boundaries on me of things I can and cannot do and I think that’s why a lot of people shy from it, rightfully so,” Demi told Access Hollywood , during a recent interview on the set of her photoshoot with the Tampax and Always Radiant Collection.

“People sometimes just want to live their lives. At that moment, I knew I was doing a lot of things that weren’t right and weren’t role model like until the day that I saw everything in the bigger picture where my voice – if you live your whole career just singing and just taking pictures and just living in front of everyone, if you don’t use your voice for good, it’s actually a very vain career, [a] narcissistic career, so I want to use my voice for good and I know that I can do a lot other than singing,” she continued. “And that’s what I want to do. That’s what I want to show people.”
