Snoop Dogg Wants You To Be His Intern

Snoop Dogg is just looking out for the kids. In a recent promotional video, Snoop Dogg released his latest campaign: the chance to work for the Dogg himself for a day. All you need to enter is to make a small donation to Snoop Dogg’s charity, The Snoop Youth Football League, and you may be chosen to be flown out to Los Angeles and be an “intern” for 24 hours. And doesn’t everyone want that on their resume?

The campaign, sponsored by Prizeo, was designed to raise awareness for Snoop’s charity. The Snoop Football League is a 501c3 non-profit that gives inner city kids the chance to participate in a football league and to “lean the values of teamwork, discipline, dedication, and self respect.”

So what exactly do the duties as an intern for Snoop Dogg entail? Well, as the Dogg puts it in the video, “We’ll do some fun sh*t, you know, eat some Roscoes chicken and waffles.” The official contest page says, “You’ll get a look inside the Snoop world and help get some work done – maybe on the set of GGN Hood News, or backstage with DJ Snoopadelic.” Not sure what other “recreational” activities Snoop Dogg has planned for his one-day intern, but Snoop claims, “I’ll make sure you have a dope time with me in L.A.”

You can donate to the cause here on Prizeo’s website. The promotion runs until January 31st, so there’s plenty of time to get donations in. The official rules also state that you may bring a guest and will receive a two night stay in a luxury hotel (ARV: $600), which sweetens the deal. Plus the more you donate, the greater your chances of winning. However, the website’s leaderboard shows donations already made of up to $500, so if you really want to be Snoop’s intern, you’re going to have to open up that wallet.

  • Snoop Lion Had Better Be A Playable Character In Rayman Legends

Did you hear? Ubisoft is bringing Rayman Legends, one of the best platformers of the year, to PS4 and Xbox One in February. What you may not know, however, is that this version of the game is the superior experience based solely on its ad.

In what must have been one of the most expensive trailers ever produced, Ubisoft somehow talked Snoop Lion into starring in the Rayman Legends next-gen announcement trailer. It’s everything that you would expect and then some as Snoop tells us that his legend is comparable to that of Rayman’s and then the two go on an adventure together.

While that’s certainly already one of the best trailers ever made, it gets even better when Snoop gets transformed into one of the many denizens of Rayman’s world. While it’s not a confirmation that we’ll see Snoop as a playable character, Ubisoft had better make sure he shows up in some capacity. I’ll gladly buy the game again just to play as the limbless version of Snoop Lion.

Rayman Legends wil launch on the PS4 and Xbox One on February 25. It’s already available on PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U, PC and PS Vita.

  • So Uh… Snoop Dogg Got His Own Game And Here’s The Trailer

It’s usually a bad thing when rappers get a game based on their musical persona. 50 Cent Bulletproof is widely regarded as one of the worst games ever made, and its sequel is known as one of the most unintentionally funny games ever made. Now Snoop Dogg Lion is trying his hand at the whole video game thing.

In Way of the Dogg, our protagonist, America Jones, finds himself with a dead girlfriend or something. Vowing revenge, he seeks training from Snoop Dogg at his mystical temple. What follows is a rhythm combat game where players hit buttons in time with Snoop’s classic beats.

While Way of the Dogg is a rhythm fighter, some are going to make the comparison to Shaq Fu. The good news is that Snoop’s new game can’t be anywhere near as bad as Shaq Fu. The bad news is that it will probably still be a lousy game, as most licensed games are.

Way of the Dogg is coming to the PS3, Xbox 360, Android and iOS sometime in the near future.

  • Snoop’s Moses Is “High” Up On That Mountain Battling Santa Claus

If you’re unfamiliar with the Epic Rap Battles of History YouTube series, you should probably get acquainted. The latest episode is a good jumping off point, if you’re so inclined.

The latest in the Epic Rap Battles Series features Snoop Lion, fresh off his incredibly popular reddit AMA, as Moses – a very “high” up on the mountain Moses. in the video, SnoopMoses is trades barbs with Santa Claus, because why not?

“So much drama in the Israe-L B.C.” Gold.

Who won? Please, it’s not even close. “You took the Christ outta Christmas and just added more mass.” Classic Snoop.

Snoop Gave the Best Answer in Reddit AMA History Yesterday

If you weren’t on reddit at any point yesterday, you missed a truly great AMA featuring Snoop Dogg Lion. Although his responses were mostly brief, Snoop took a lot of time to answer dozens upon dozens of questions on everything from music, weed, his shift to “Lion,” and video games.

There were a lot of gems to come out of the AMA, but with one response Snoop won the internet yesterday. He also proved that he is enough of an internet-lover to get a classic self-referential meme.

    Here’s the Q&A:

    Beautiful. Snoop gets it:

We also learned that Snoop smokes 81 blunts a day. I don’t really have words for that. You should go check out the AMA.

  • Snoop Dogg Makes Reggae, Changes Name To Snoop Lion

Snoop Dogg doesn’t pretend to be someone he’s not; he partakes of the weed (in generous amounts, and isn’t shy about advocating it, either), he’s down with many different music styles, and he’s secure enough in his manhood to wear random silly hats around town. Also, this sweater.

So his fans were a wee bit surprised recently when he announced that he’s had a “spiritual awakening” and is moving from rap-based music to reggae. He said in a press conference that it wasn’t planned, but that the spirit “called him” and he knew he had to go to Jamaica and make his latest record. He also said he’s always felt he was Bob Marley reincarnated.

“I want to bury Snoop Dogg and become Snoop Lion,” he said. The name came from a priest he met at a temple in the hills of Jamaica, who told him he was not a dog, but rather a lion.

He says the songs on his album are some of the most amazing songs he’s ever been a part of and is happy he can perform for a wide array of audiences, which he couldn’t do before.

“Reggae music is music of love. Happiness and struggle. Now, as a 40-year old man in the music industry… you know, the artists call me “Uncle Snoop”….I gotta give ’em something now. I can’t just keep takin’ them to a dead end street and dropping them off. I gotta teach ’em how to fish, teach ’em how to plant, teach ’em how to grow, and that’s what you do when you become wise. I’m a wise man in the music industry.”

Ay, you do your thing, Snoop. Your fans will no doubt love you no matter what your name is.
