  • Debra Messing: “Mysteries of Laura” Star Finally Divorced from Daniel Zelman

Debra Messing, star of NBC’s The Mysteries of Laura, is finally divorced from Daniel Zelman, the executive producer of Damages. The two were married for more than 10 years, and are the parents of 11-year-old son Roman.

Splitting up in 2012, it’s been a long road for Debra Messing and Daniel Zelman. No details have hit the media yet on why the divorce took so many years.

During a 2012 interview with Ladies Home Journal, Debra Messing indicated at that time that the two were friends.

“It’s a very long time. When I say the move to New York was traumatic, it was traumatic because every aspect of my life was going through a huge change,” she said. “We are dear friends. And I am at peace with the journey we’ve had. I feel like the 20 years we had together has been a huge success. And despite the fact that everything is changing, I think everyone is thriving.”

Debra Messing moved to New York to star in the now-cancelled NBC show Smash.

Hopefully the finalization of their divorce puts Debra Messing and Daniel Zelman in an even better place.

  • Katharine McPhee: “American Idol” Alum, “Scorpion” Star Pays Ex Big Bucks in Divorce Settlement

Katharine McPhee of American Idol fame and the star of the hit CBS show Scorpion is paying big bucks for cheating on her then-hubby Nick Cokas. As a result of getting caught kissing her married Smash director Michael Morris, McPhee will pay Cokas approximately $400,000 per year.

According to a report from E! News, that’s not all Cokas is getting. Katharine McPhee must pay Nick Cokas $102,616 in the next few days. They will split her earnings from Smash, as well as earnings from songs she wrote while they were legally married.

It sounds like McPhee’s ex is making out very nicely in this divorce settlement. But wait–there’s more.

Cokas is walking away from his marriage to Katharine McPhee with a 2013 Jeep Wrangler. She gets to keep her 2012 Mercedes-Benz M Class SUV.

So did Katharine McPhee wind up with the Smash director she cheated on her husband with? No. These days she is dating one of her Scorpion co-stars, Elyes Gabel. It’s uncertain if the indiscretion cost Michael Morris his marriage or not.

McPhee claims she was separated from Nick Cokas at the time of the cheating incident. She, in fact, filed for divorce from Cokas in May of 2014. She released the following statement at the time of the filing.

“After six years of marriage, and having been separated for the past year, Katharine McPhee has filed for a dissolution of marriage from Nick Cokas. The two have an amicable relationship and will remain friends. They ask that people respect their privacy during this time.”

  • Katharine McPhee: “Scorpion” Star Finalizes Divorce from Nick Cokas

Katharine McPhee, one of the stars of the hit show Scorpion, has finalized her divorce from her husband of six years, Nick Cokas. McPhee filed for divorce almost two years ago, shortly after she was spotted kissing her Smash director Michael Morris. Morris was married, too.

Nick Cokas made out very well in the divorce settlement. Katharine McPhee will pay her ex up to $400,000 per year in spousal support, in addition to $102,616 she must pay him within the next couple of days.

E! News reports the former couple will split all of Katharine McPhee’s earnings from her now-cancelled NBC show Smash. He will get 50 percent of any songs she created while they were married.

Nick Cokas will walk away with a 2013 Jeep Wrangler, while Katharine McPhee will keep her 2012 Mercedes-Benz M Class SUV.

The American Idol alum claimed she and Cokas were separated when she was caught kissing her Smash director.

Katharine McPhee is now dating one of her Scorpion co-stars–Elyes Gabel.

Do you suppose Katharine McPhee is more upset over destroying her marriage to Nick Cokas or over the money she now has to pay out–as a result of her betrayal?

  • Katharine McPhee, “Smash” Cast Brought “Bombshell” To Broadway

Katharine McPhee, “Smash” Cast Brought “Bombshell” To Broadway

Katharine McPhee and her former Smash castmates reunited earlier this year for a one-night-only production of Bombshell–the show-within-a-show featured on the drama series–and it was such huge success that Broadway producers are now in talks to develop it into a full-scale stage production.

McPhee said last month that she had no clue the reunion show was going to get as much attention as it did; the event sold out quickly, with fans clamoring for more.

“I had no idea the show, this one night thing would become as big as it is. People are really, they’re more crazy about Smash now then they were when it was on the air,” Katharine said.

McPhee starred on Smash for two seasons, but unfortunately for fans it was canceled before it could go further. It’s unclear whether any of the original cast members will be starring in the Broadway show at this time.

McPhee has been a busy lady, between her television schedule, the stage, and her music career. The American Idol alum has been hard at work on her newest album, which will be released on July 24. Hysteria is one of her most personal projects to date.

“There’s so many things and events that have happened in my life in the last 3 or 4 years. With earlier albums I found it difficult to find inspiration of things I wanted to sing about. I think I was also shy; I wasn’t sure of myself as a writer. I really didn’t feel like I had that much to say, had that much to write about. So I think the overall theme of this record is that, yes, there’s been searching, there’s been heartbreak, there’s been longing, I think finally, for the first time, I felt motivated to find stories within my own life to write about,” Katharine McPhee said.

  • Katharine McPhee On “Smash” Reunion: People Are More “Crazy” About It Now

Katharine McPhee rose to fame on American Idol, one of a handful of memorable contestants who went on to bigger and better things, and these days she’s as busy as ever. Her new album, Hysteria, will be released on July 24, and until then she’s got side projects–like a little detour onto Broadway–to keep her busy.

McPhee and several of her costars from Smash will be hitting the stage for one night only in June in order to bring characters from the show-within-a-show, Bombshell, to life. The production tells the story of Marilyn Monroe and was featured heavily on Smash, and Katharine will join Christian Borle, Will Chase, Megan Hilty, and Debra Messing for a mini-reunion. McPhee says she can’t believe the level of adoration that fans still have for the show, which led to Bombshell being sold out quickly.

“I had no idea the show, this one night thing would become as big as it is. People are really, they’re more crazy about Smash now then they were when it was on the air,” McPhee told Billboard.

Katharine has been keeping busy with her album, which she says is the most personal project she’s done due to a break away from the shyness she felt when writing songs.

So I think the overall theme of this record is that, yes, there’s been searching, there’s been heartbreak, there’s been longing, I think finally, for the first time, I felt motivated to find stories within my own life to write about,” McPhee said.

Her newest single, “Lick My Lips” was created with Florence + The Machine’s Isabella Summers and is being hesitantly called the “song of the summer”.

  • Katharine McPhee Wishes ‘Scorpion’ Star Boyfriend Elyes Gabel a Happy Birthday

Katharine McPhee of American Idol and Smash fame wished her boyfriend, Elyes Gabel of Scorpion, a happy birthday on Friday.

The singer and actress even wore a gold nameplate necklace that reads ‘Elyes’ in a photo that she shared to express those birthday wishes.

“#HappyBirthday to this guy…@elyes_gabel. Give him some bday [love],” she captioned the photo.

Katharine McPhee was first spotted wearing her boyfriend’s name around her neck during a recent vacation in April–helping confirm rumors that she is in fact dating the Scorpion star.

A source recently confirmed to Us Weekly that Katharine McPhee and Elyes Gabel are very much in love.

McPhee has remained very good friends with her ex-husband Nick Cokas as well. The two had breakfast together recently as part of a breakfast meeting.

Katharine McPhee and Nick Cokas divorced following the release of a photo that showed her making out with Smash director Michael Morris. Morris was able to salvage his marriage following the ordeal.

It’s uncertain what Katharine McPhee and Elyes Gabel did to celebrate his birthday last week, or if the two were even able to spend the day together. It’s clear, however, that Katrharine McPhee has moved on and found new love, and that she is very happy with the Scorpion star.

  • Debra Messing: No Go in ‘Mysteries of Laura?’

Debra Messing: No Go in ‘Mysteries of Laura?’

Debra Messing is set to star in a new NBC series called The Mysteries of Laura, and the L.A. Times doesn’t seem to think she’s up to speed. A recent report reminds viewers of last year’s most significant NBC offering–The Blacklist, starring James Spader–and the bullseye the network hit with that show. They are comparing Messing and The Mysteries of Laura to ‘grazing the white part around the edge of the target.’

Fans last saw Debra Messing in Smash, and of course everyone loved her in Will & Grace. So what’s not to love about Laura Diamond in The Mysteries of Laura? It seems she’s simply not convincible as a homicide detective.

“It certainly doesn’t help that the show opens with her in hot pursuit of some gun-wielding thug as he races through a very crowded Battery Park. Wearing a raincoat that she will then cling to throughout the episode as if it had been bequeathed to her by Mr. Peter Falk, she mutters “humorous” asides like “why are all these people in the park? Don’t they have jobs?” before pulling a gun and aiming it at said thug, who grabs a hostage. Then she fires Right At Their Heads,” the L.A. Times reports.

It seems The Mysteries of Laura isn’t a sitcom, but Debra Messing is playing Laura Diamond as if it might be. The funny thing is, NBC is playing her character as though she is on par with Law & Order: SVU’s Mariska Hargitay and Chicago P.D.’s Sophia Bush. Have you seen that ad? Even with the little that viewers have seen thus far of The Mysteries of Laura thus far, the notion simply doesn’t gel.

Are you a Debra Messing fan? Will you be checking out The Mysteries of Laura when it premieres tonight–Wednesday, September 17th on NBC at 10:00 PM? It will be interesting to learn what Thursday’s take will be on the new show.

Hopefully NBC hasn’t banked on this to be this years The Black List.

  • Debra Messing to Star in NBC’s ‘The Mysteries of Laura’

Debra Messing will star in NBC’s new detective comedy-drama hybrid series The Mysteries of Laura this coming fall.

Messing plays Detective Laura Diamond, a NYPD homicide detective and single mother of twin boys.

The series is scheduled to premiere Wednesday, September 24.

Messing will star alongside Josh Lucas, who is known for The Lincoln Lawyer and Sweet Home Alabama.

McG (Chuck, The O.C., Supernatural,) Aaron Kaplan (Made of Honor, You, Me, & Dupree,) and Greg Berlanti (Arrow, Brothers & Sisters, Eli Stone) are among the executive producers.

Messing spoke about what she calls the “dramedy” on Sunday at NBC’s Television Critics Association summer press tour.

“When I read the script it didn’t feel to me that this a new standard [or] an extreme case,” she said. “I responded to something incredibly universal about the predicament.”

Messing predicted that “it is the balance of the tone of drama and the comedy that is going to be the newest adventure and the newest challenge. That we haven’t seen on network TV before.”

“I didn’t have to choose. Do I want to do a comedy? Or do I want to do a drama? It’s both,” she said.

Messing rose to fame on NBC’s hit sitcom Will & Grace which ran for eight seasons from 1998 to 2006.

Since then, she has starred in the television miniseries The Starter Wife for which she received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries or Movie. Messing went on to star in the short-lived television series of the same name.

In 2012 and 2013 Messing starred alongside Jack Davenport (Pirates of the Caribbean, The Talented Mr. Ripley) and Katharine McPhee (The House Bunny, You May Not Kiss the Bride) in NBC’s musical Smash. The series was canceled after two seasons.

  • Megan Hilty Pregnant With First Child

Megan Hilty Pregnant With First Child

Megan Hilty of Smash and Sean Saves the World fame is pregnant with her first child. She and hubby Brian Gallagher are expecting their little bundle of joy in September.

The couple tied the knot this past November at the Venetian chapel in Las Vegas. They have been together for about two years. Hilty and Gallagher met at a fitness class when they were both on Broadway. Brian Gallagher is a musician.

Megan Hilty was excited to share word of their pregnancy via Twitter on Saturday, which just happened to be the actress’s 33rd birthday. That’s certainly an incredible birthday gift to receive–and one that she is definitely sharing with her husband, too. This gift no doubt made all the others pale quite significantly in comparison.

Brian Gallagher tweeted his own words of excitement about their baby-to-be.

Brian later shared a fun photo and special happy birthday tweet to Megan.

Megan Hilty says she hasn’t yet experienced any morning sickness, but that cravings are tempting her constantly.

“Everything I can’t have!” she says of her cravings. “I want sushi, tuna fish sandwiches, coffee and champagne.”

“I haven’t shopped for any baby things yet,” she adds. “But I have found some amazing maternity dresses for the summer.”

These days Megan Hilty and Brian Gallagher spend lots of time singing to their future son or daughter.

“This baby’s gonna be really sick of our voices by the time it arrives!” she says.

The baby will simply feel loved every time he or she hears Mom and Dad’s voice. Congratulations to Megan and Brian on their very exciting news.

  • Krysta Rodriguez Exiting ‘How I Met Your Dad’

Actress Krysta Rodriguez is leaving How I Met Your Dad just days before production for the pilot is set to begin, Entertainment Weekly reported Tuesday.

The Smash star was cast to play one of the leads in CBS’ How I Met Your Mother spin-off. She was to play the sexy, flamboyant fashion blogger best friend of Greta Gerwig’s lead Mother character, named Sally. After a table read, producers decided Rodriguez was not working out.

She has just figured out that she has nothing in common with her husband of less than a year, and will find a solid circle of support in her friends and family.”

  • Katharine McPhee Back With Hubby After Scandal

Looks like Katharine McPhee might be forgiven for cheating on her husband last year.

Apparently, she has reunited with her husband, Nick Cokas, after months of separation.

The American-Idol runner-up was snapped Monday walking with her husband and their three dogs together in Los Angeles.

According to a source close to the 29-year-old singer and actress, this is more than just a nice little get-together.

“Katharine and Nick are working on their marriage,” says the source. “They’re trying to start again.”

The Smash star Katharine McPhee was busted last fall when she was photographed kissing the show’s director, Michael Morris. Both were married at the time, causing a scandal in the media and marring her reputation.

During the brouhaha, McPhee reveled that she and her 47-year-old husband had been separated and “living apart” for months before she was caught in the kissing photo.

Seems Morris has been forgiven as well. He has reportedly reconciled with wife Mary McCormack, known for her role in the USA Network show In Plain Sight. Apparently, she kicked him out of the home they share with their three kids, but allowed him back home a few months later.

  • Megan Hilty Dishes on Marriage, Honeymoon

Megan Hilty Dishes on Marriage, Honeymoon

Sean Saves the World star, Megan Hilty, recently spoke about her Las Vegas marriage to Brian Gallagher, saying that things haven’t changed all that much. But, with a smile she added, “I just get to introduce him as my husband now. I think other people treat us differently, than anything else.”

The intimate, Las Vegas wedding ceremony last month included Sean Saves the World costars Sean Hayes, Echo Kellum and Tom Lennon in attendance. Several weeks later, a three-hour reception was held at the Sherman Oaks house that Hilty and Gallagher have been renting, outside of L.A.

    As to why Vegas?

“I love Vegas,” she said, “And I love The Palazzo and The Venetian, so we got married in The Venetian and stayed there for the weekend. It was a very intimate setting, we had our parents and our siblings—he’s from New York and I’m from Seattle, so they met in Vegas.”

According to Hilty, the couple have yet to make definite honeymoon plans.

“I don’t know,” said Hilty. “We’re gonna go to New York next week, just to see New York at Christmas time. So maybe we’ll count that as our honeymoon?”

  • Megan Hilty Talks Married Life, Honeymoon

Megan Hilty is very clearly loving her new life as a married woman. The Sean Saves the World star married Brian Gallagher last month in Las Vegas, and now she says being a wife makes her “feel great.” The couple had a reception just last weekend to celebrate their nuptials, and while she says being married really isn’t very different from before, she does seem incredibly happy, and sources firmly believe it’s her newly married status that’s responsible for at least most of the smiles.

Hilty explained her reasons for getting married in Las Vegas during a recent interview.

“I love Vegas,” she said, “And I love The Palazzo and The Venetian, so we got married in The Venetian and stayed there for the weekend. It was a very intimate setting, we had our parents and our siblings—he’s from New York and I’m from Seattle, so they met in Vegas.”

As for a honeymoon, the couple doesn’t (at least as far as the media knows!) have any hard and fast plans.

“I don’t know. We’re gonna go to New York next week, just to see New York at Christmas time. So maybe we’ll count that as our honeymoon?”

Megan Hilty is loving her work on Sean Saves the World, and that was abundantly clear at her wedding. Sean Hayes and costars Echo Kellum and Tom Lennon were part of her big day. The Smash star plays a very different role on this new TV hit, and she truly shines as she lets her funny side show.

Sean Saves the World will likely outlive Smash, so Megan Hilty is probably guaranteed some more laughs (and gainful employment) for a while. NBC just recently ordered more scripts, so fans can look forward to more Megan.

Life is definitely good for Megan Hilty and Brian Gallagher. The New Year will no doubt bring this couple even more excitement and hopefully an abundance of new blessings.

  • Katharine McPhee is Embarrassed by Indescretion

Unless you’ve been under a rock this week, you have heard that American Idol runner-up and all around American sweetheart, Katharine McPhee has tarnished her reputation by making out, and strolling hand-in-hand and lovingly looking into each other’s eyes, with a married man.

Earlier this week, she was caught red-handed by nearby cameras kissing her “Smash” director Michael Morris, who happens to be married to actress Mary McCormack.

McCormack did what any self-respecting woman would do, and proceeded to swiftly boot him out of their home that they share with their three children. Tisk Tisk.

Well, now Us Weekly reports that McPhee is “embarrassed” about getting caught in her indiscretion. Notice I didn’t say embarrassed by her indiscretion. Just getting caught.

When will celebrities learn that there is probably nowhere they can be that a camera can’t be? Unless you’re in your basement, with the shades pulled, lights off, and cotton in the keyhole, you could be captured on film.

The crazy thing is, that these pictures look like they are in a parking lot. In broad daylight. Duh?

Katharine, herself, 29, is still technically a married woman. She married producer Nick Cokas, 47, 5 years ago. However, reports say they have been seperated for about 6 months. (image) Katharine McPhee and husband, Nick Cokas

The scandal has caused a ripple effect that has not left anyone totally bruise-free. The real loser in the situation is poor Mary McCormack, who lost her husband and their children, Margaret, 9, Rose, 6, and Lillian, 2, who lost their father.

Then there is Michael Morris. “Smash” was already in the toilet, but he had a gig already lined up, heading a pilot for E! called “Songbyrd”, but after news broke of his extramarital activities, his services were suddenly no longer needed.

McPhee seems to be the one who will suffer the least. She was already amicably seperated from her December-ish other half, and they don’t have any children. Her career may suffer some bruising, but most likely will pick back up.

It’s a sad situation all around.

  • Mary McCormack, Unlike Katharine McPhee, Is Happily Married

Mary McCormack, the wife of “Smash” director Michael Morris, is reportedly happily married and never knew there was an issue until Morris was photographed kissing the star of the canceled show, Katharine McPhee.

The couple were busted while canoodling and holding hands in a parking lot earlier this week, and though no one has officially commented on the situation, a source told People Magazine that McCormack has been a happily married mother of three.

“Mary adores her husband. If this is true, she would have been blindsided,” the source said. “She is the most devoted mother and wife.”

McPhee, on the other hand, is said to have split from her husband–Nick Cokas–six months ago, although he still manages her music career. The couple were married in 2008, and the actress has said that they put starting a family on hold because she’s enjoying working so much.

“I once thought that by now I’d have lots of children, but actually I’m really enjoying being able to go from point A to point B and the only worry I have is have my dogs been walked,” she said. “I’m selfish right now, but that’s how and where I should be. The thing is, work is the thing I love the most.”

  • Katharine McPhee Caught Kissing ‘Smash’ Director

Just a helpful hint to former “Smash” director Michael Morris, if you don’t want your wife to know your kissing another woman either don’t do it or don’t get caught on camera.

Katharine McPhee and Morris did just that, and were caught on camera locking lips.To add to this story, these two are BOTH married.

McPhee, 29, is still technically married to Nick Cokas, 47, the two married in 2008. They have been living apart and separated for about six months. Morris and wife, Actress Mary McCormack have been married for more than a decade and three daughters between ages two and nine.

Morris attempted to purchase the photos from TMZ to conceal them from the public. After a failed bid, he broke the news Sunday of the photos upcoming release to his wife. McCormack reportedly threw him out of the house.

TMZ posted the images of him and McPhee at first base in broad daylight in a parking lot, and ruining his reputation.

It is unclear where the relationship between McCormack and Morris stands.

  • “Smash” Canceled: Twitter Reacts

The once-promising NBC drama “Smash”, about a cast of Broadway actors and dancers, has officially been canceled by the network.

The show was much-hyped before its first season and brought in almost 12 million viewers, a staggering amount for a musical drama. But after a nine-month hiatus, the show just couldn’t hold onto its viewers. The numbers dropped to 4.5 million for the second season and ratings plummeted, sending the network bosses into a frenzy.

The show, which stars “American Idol” alum Katharine McPhee and Anjelica Huston, will finish out the second season on Saturday nights.
